Me and my partner call ahead for an appointment. It was my girl’s first tattoo and my first shop tattoo so we were excited. My artist was Jay who on the phone was cool but in person was very pushy and didn’t have much input except for how much his flat rate was. It gave off a what do want vibe and we felt rushed. Charged us 260$ for 2 small tattoos. We were there already so nevertheless we got tatted and over charged. The worst part of getting a tattoo here was the atmosphere. You got one Artist staring me and my girlfriend down as if we were not welcomed as paying customers and you got another saying “White power” randomly. Mind you we were 2 black women. Our tattoos were nice (because they were simple) but we will not be returning. Definitely weird vibes

He covered the cost of the ice cream himself and was an absolutely wonderful person to talk to in person. Tony, you may not know who I am or what I do for a living, but your kindness was your ticket with us. Good things always come back, brother. God bless you!

Top notch work from Downrivers most elite lineup of artists. You also wont find a better piercer in the Metro Detroit area than Jon. Piercing isnt a trade for him, its an art. All of the artists at Lucky 38 will have you coming back as a client for life. Their shop exceeds my expectations of cleanliness, and their pricing is more than fair for the quality in their work.

Got my industrial done here, im not gonna say it was painless (it wasnt), but it was two quick pokes that didnt really hurt much. Jon was very quick and we were done within 5 mins. 10/10 will go again

I came in today for a cover up for half of my sleeve. Let me start off by saying right when I walked in there everyone had the best energy and was happy and laughing. I had an appointment with kracker jack the owner. Seriously best tattoo cover up I have ever seen. Don’t be afraid of his looks I walked in today thinking he was the scariest man but was very professional and was making jokes the whole time. Price was amazing and seriously best tattoo parlor I have ever stepped into.

Just got a tattoo today with Matt, he did a fantastic job, it was everything I wanted. Thank you again Matt. I do highly recommend this place and Matt as a tattoo artist. I will definitely be coming back to him for any of my future tattoos.

Walk-in/call-in was welcome for a piercing. Jon was really chill and professional. Greeted me at the door after I called. Cash, card or electronic payment allowed (with a ~$5fee from the latter two). Reasonable piercing pricing. Said he would help change piercing after it’s done healing. (Personal preference he is black. Which made me feel a little less anxious). Clean and quick. Would/will recommend to anyone looking for a piercer.

It was my first tattoo. i we t will my mom and grandma and we all got the same one. he only took like 25 minutes doing each one.

Haven’t gotten any tattoos done here (even though their work looks amazing online) , but I do constantly come in for piercings lol. Jon is the piercer here, and he’s amazing. I’ve gotten snake bites done around 7/8 times and I’m actually about to go back to get it done . For some reason it never really stays in for me, which I think its me. But I love it 😂 Jon has also done a few other piercings of mine in the past. He’s very thorough , fast, and makes sure you like the placement of the piercing with a sharpie before he actually proceeds to pierce you. & he’s a really cool guy, he will definitely take care of you. If you have any issues with your piercing(s), he makes it known you can always hit him up and he’ll still help out. He’s very knowledgeable with aftercare and any questions you may have.

Jon the piercing guy was awesome ! Friendly and very clean said he would help change out when Im healed..

Came to Allen park Michigan to visit an old army buddy. We were able to drop in on a Wednesday and meet with Tony. He had the stencil done and emailed to us by Thursday. We had an appointment on Friday and he was set up and ready to roll when we arrived. He was very thorough and welcoming. Only my second tattoo and was a little nervous. We were laughing by the end of the session. Would recommend this shop to anyone.

Took my 17 year old to get a couple pairs of earrings, belly and nose ring. They can put great some artist dont like them up correctly cause problems in the future. This was done fast , correctly and beautifully done. I will be making an appointment to get my tattoo done asap. Ill never go to another shop.appointment.for a tattoo for myself very soon

Choose Lucky 38 because this is where my son gets his piercings done. Came in with my son on Easter Sunday so that he could get his first tattoos. Vic did a great job on his tattoos and mine. Very personable and customer service was excellent if I decide to get another tattoo I will definitely come back here to Vic.

Piercer was so kind and considerate! highly recommend! he also mentioned that he will be opening his own piercing shop next door to Lucky in mid October!! Will definitely go back when i’m in the area!

It felt so good to get jacks work covered by a real artist(dan redding). Not only did i get a horrible tattoo from Jack i was then harassed by some girl referring to the shop as her shop because I had said i wasnt happy with jacks work. They denied even doing the tattoo

My friend and I went here a few months ago trying to get a piercing, it was probably the worst experience Ive ever had. Giving people the benefit of the doubt, Im not sure if bro was just having a bad day but he made me not even want to get the piercing. The piercer at the tattoo shop Im not sure of his name but he was so rude and had no customer service skills. We needed to pay cash upfront and thank the Lord my friend didnt have cash and we left out to get the money yet never returned. Because of his rude service we never even got our piercing and figured we would take our money elsewhere. I would NOT recommend this place if you were looking for a pleasant experience. There are much better places where you can get piercings with great customer service and a personable experience.

Took my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. Jon was so great! He was kind and patient with her, let me sit next to her on the table and explained the aftercare. I would 1000% recommend him!

Lucky 38 tattoos has a great team of artists! I have two small tattoos from Autumn which I love!!!! And Jack was able to help cover up a friend’s tattoo so well. Highly recommend the shop and all artists!

Jon, the piercer, is by far the best I’ve ever been to. I’ve had 5 piercings done by him. (Both ears/nostrils and my septum.) He is very prompt, informative, sterile, calming, and does great work! I will always refer friends and family to him and will only get work done by him. He’s also helps with questions, cleaning support, and changing jewelry at no cost. Jon is the piercing GOAT!

Run straight to Jon. Hands down, he is the best piercer ever. He did my nose and in the same breath he told me to breathe, he was already done. I also recently did my ears and they look so cute! The pain was very bearable and he was quick. I was able to sleep on my ear just fine. He also has high quality ear jewelry so he put in some nice ones for my ear, I thought I was getting basic stuff but he really does have an eye for this stuff and I couldn’t be happier. Will be going back for my tragus and daith soon!

Most tat shops are very dry, dudes act like you are a bother to be in their shop but not this place everyone was very pleasant very welcoming . I walked in,I did not have an appointment and they took me in right away they were very accommodating. Came here about five days ago for my first piercing. I was nervous as I have had tattoos done elsewhere before, but never ventured into the world of piercing. As I am not a fan of needles and a newbie to piercings I did my research before to make sure I would be prepared.I messaged Lucky 38 with questions about eyebrow piercings. They answered very quickly and were extremely helpful about it all. I came in to have it done and was worried due to my fears. They made sure everything would be as comfortable as it can be. Obviously a needle going through any part of you isnt going to feel great, but for what it was it was a lot less painful than I expected. Even now any questions I have bad Lucky 38 has responded and helped out with. My piercing is healing nicely and I am quite happy with it. I hope it continues healing well and continues looking great.

I got my dimples/cheeks pierced during a charity piercing event to help a family who lost a loved one. And the piercer made me feel very comfortable even though I was super nervous. He did an excellent job measuring and found the perfect spot for both cheeks. Also he was super gentle and it barely hurt at all, even the clamp didnt hurt at all. He was fast and good, Ill definitely get more piercings from them!

John who pierced my girls ears was fantastic. He was so patient with my little who wouldn’t stop moving. He asked if we had any questions I before he started. I would highly recommend him for piercings .

Got 2 piercing from here and they are clean and friendly. My lip ring was giving me a problem and they had no issue with fixing my issue. I also brought my 2 daughters cause they wanted theirs done. This is the only place I trust. HIGHLY recommend this place.

First time at this business I wish someone would have greeted us when we walked in to find out that we wanted. Waited for 10 minutes before anybody even acknowledge me standing there. Other than that the place was very clean, the artists were taking care of their areas very well if were sanitizing after finishing with a customer. If I was to get a tattoo I definitely head there.

I found this place off facebook, and reading through a couple reviews i decided to give it a try. After meeting Jack and seeing how he is AMAAZING i let him do my first big tattoo, which was my sleeve. And he drew up and finished it exactly as i wanted. I went today again with my husband and got his initials and again, just as pleased. He always makes you feel comfortable, hes very patient and makes sure youre okay during the tattoo process and continues to talk to you so you dont get that awkward silence. I would highly recommend this shop and Jack as the artist to go to.

Got my nose pierced around 4 months ago, My piercing was consistently irritated even with cleaning it twice a day. I assumed it was the jewelry they pierced it with and it definitely was. I can hang a picture with what they pierced my nose with. It was a 12 gauge. Standard nose piercings are done with 18 gauges!!! Of course my nose couldn’t heal properly. Not only was it infected, skin healed over the 12 gauge jewelry and I had to go to a different place and have them re-pierce through scar tissue and give me new jewelry that was the proper 18 gauge. BEWARE! -0/10 wouldn’t recommend

I went here to get my nose pierced. The shop is very clean, and they use brand new tools each time. I am horrible with names, but the guy who does the piercing is a cool dude. I may even go back to get a new piece of ink.!

I called to ask them a question and i couldn’t hear them from the phone i called them on the first time so i had to hangup and call on my own phone and when they answered when i called from my phone they specifically said “are you the person who just hung up ?” i said yes but it’s because i couldn’t hear you from the other phone i called on and as i was in the middle of saying my sentence they hung up on me. there customer service sucks. maybe next time i call to ask them a question they might actually be nice. other then that they are rude.

I came here for a piercing after checking the reviews - and I’m glad I did. John pierced my nose and he was fantastic and super quick! In total it took about 3 minutes.

My nose piercing and my friends ear piercing got infected. not a coincidence that both our piercings in different spots got infected. the guy we had didnt do a count down and didnt even let my friend approve of the little purple dot they do to mark where to pierce. the tattoo artist that tattooed my sister-in-law was great and friendly and her tattoo is still looking great so he gets the star.

The best and only tattoo shop I go to. Jack is excellent, I pretty much give him a spot on my body and tell him what I am thinking and he does the rest. Super happy with my sleeve and look forward to the next sessions for my next arm sleeve. My problem is I only have 2 arms 🤪 haha lol

Horrible! Got my daith pierced and not only did he not explain what he was going to do before shoving the needle in my ear, he never cleaned my ear before shoving the needle in it. The one star is because I cant leave no stars. I would NOT recommend this place for piercings at all!

Matt did my first tattoo, I was kinda scared and wasnt really that comfortable considering the fact that he was suuuuper shy - it just didnt help. Like, he didnt talk.. or even look at me.. at all lol. I shrugged it off though because the other tattoo artists were pretty social, and funny. Plus my arm piece wasnt that big so id be out of there in no time anyway. He does great work, and the pricing is great. So my overall experience would be a 4/5 and Id definitely go back but this time tell him to stop being so damn awkward.. lmao

Got some beautiful freehand work done by my bro Vic many years ago, and it had faded. Accidentally found him in this gorgeous shop, and a couple days later he made it better than the original.Youll never find a better shop or artist. Im biased as hell, but Im right.

I made a appointment on February 22,2022Sent over my deposit of 35.00 via cashapp . the tattoo artist reached out to me the day before my appointment and asked if I could come earlier.i agreed ,when I got there At the changed appointment time ,he said he wanted to chance it back to 6:30 .I asked for my deposit back.He said and had a guy weighing 600Lbs walk me to the door . They were very unprofessional and I am a woman that weighs 170 lbs .I was so scared I had to make a police report!

If you are looking for quality, and decent behaved people to do any work for you. I implore you not to go here. Over paid for a tatt that had to be touched up twice. Its a centimeter long. So you would think theres no way in screwing it up. Wrong, and then on top of it, crappy attitude from the artist. If you wanna waste your time and money i guess this is the place for you.

Had my Daith pierced. John did a great job! Lost the ball at the end of earring, went in and he replaced it immediately.

Went here for my gfs nose ring and they apparently dont take large bills.... So i walked all around to find a store that would. Not only did i receive bad service the staff are rude. Thank god the man doing the piercings was verry good at his job!

Worst customer service! I went there twice for a scheduled tattoo and both times they tried to change up the design, the placement, etc.. I walked away pissed because I left work early to do this. There were 5 dudes in the shop and not one of them stopped me to ask what the problem was or to resolve the issue. I wont ever go back nor will I recommend them.

I called just to inquire about pricing and the man that answered the phone was VERY rude and disrespectful. Continuously cut me off as I was speaking. I wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy. If you cant be kind and courteous over the telephone I dont want you doing anything to my body.. be it a tattoo or a piercing!!

I have had one tattoo completed on my upper-back/neck and am in the process of getting a sleeve on my left arm at Lucky 38. My tattoo artist was/is Autumn. She does phenomenal work at a fair price! I have received several tattoos elsewhere and have noticed the difference in my pain tolerance, healing process, and artists excitement in work! Ive been looking for an artist for all of my crazy/exciting ideas and a shop to call my home for ink therapy and this is the place!! I highly recommend Lucky 38 and Autumn! Shes a lot of fun!

Autumn has been doing great work since the 1st time I went to her, great attitude and just an overall awesome person. (Very open to my silly ideas ) My experience at the shop has always been great. Everyone there has a great sense of humor and its just fun.

Autumn is amazing!! she did my first tattoo and has done 8 more for me since then! she is very quick and light handed and so creative! she’s always honest if she thinks a design or placement won’t work out. very professional and clean with her work! won’t ever trust anyone else with my skin.
