Monsters Den Tattoo Shop & Piercing (YES WE TAKE WALK-INS)

My friend and I are from out of state but wanted to get tattoos while we were visiting California. From the moment we walked in the door the entire staff was attentive, friendly and extremely professional. Angel did an AMAZING job on my tattoo, more so than I could have ever imagined. I was so impressed with his work, and the positive energy from him and every other staff member exhibited that it’s tempting to fly back from Indiana just to work with one of these artists again.

Overall a wonderful experience !! Shakespeare made sure I felt my questions and concerns were taken care of as an unsure prospective customer and gave the best execution for my two earlobe piercings !! After that, Lizard gave me the greatest customer service and tattoo experience while giving me a small moon and star behind my ear. Would recommend both of them for ANYONE. Thanks yo !!!!

Love the vibes of this place. All the artist we worked with were pretty cool and very knowledgeable. We took a spontaneous trip here and we were glad they take walk-ins. I had a phrase done by David and I love how it turned out. David took his time and made sure it was perfect. He checked in to make sure I was doing ok throughout the process. Will definitely be back.

Walked in for a quick little tat on the back of my arm and got super lucky to have Liz be my artist! Genuinely the coolest, so friendly and wants to make sure you’re 100% on placement, size, design, and comfort during the actual process. She took my reference photos and absolutely nailed it, I’m obsessed, absolutely will be coming back to her for future tats :)

They were very friendly and accommodating. I got a water and the tattoo I wanted. I was on vacation with my family and all four of us wanted a Disney themed tattoo. I found inspo on Pinterest and they brought it to life. They also have their own Disney themed tattoos for you to choose from. I called 2 days in advance and they took all four of us in. One of us even decided to get two instead of one. They also do other tattoos than just Disney and they are beautifully done. I loved this place!

AMAZING experience. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. Nikkie was really good about making it feel safe for my girls and I. Her feedback for repiercing my nose was great and showcased her expertise with piercings. Loved her pink room that was clean and sleek looking. Definitely would come back!!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I had Leo the owner tattooing me and I was so upset to see when I got home and took a closer look the lines on my tattoo are so crooked and it looks like someone who never tattooed me before did it. Sad to say I could probably do better than him that’s how bad it is.This place gets good reviews and I have absolutely no idea why. He messed up on the word “together” and the e at the end is some random mess. This is on my body forever and I’m just really disappointed. You go to a place and put your trust in someone and they do horribly and you still have to pay them. I will not be coming here again. Don’t say with confidence that you can do something and then not be able to do it correctly.

This entire shop was super dope! Ryan, my artist, took me as a last minute walk-in and hooked me up with an awesome Nightmare before Christmas piece! The entire shop has a chill and very welcoming atmosphere and is extremely clean and inviting! I no longer live locally or I would be a frequent flyer- would 100% recommend to anyone in the area looking for a clean shop with good vibes and great staff that won’t break the bank.

Awesome experience getting tattooed here by Shakey! I love how my tattoo came out. Amazing job, I couldn’t decide between shaded or unshaded and Shakey assisted me with figuring out decide what was best for me and suggested something I’d never thought of to do an ombré like shading. All of the staff was so friendly and kind from the moment my friend and I walked in. They had water and snacks for us as well. It was such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere I definitely didn’t feel pressured and was treated more like a friend rather than a customer which goes a long way in this generation! I definitely plan on returning back and referring others to come check out Shakey’s work. Nikki also was so kind to us and informed us of her additional services she has going on in the shop such as piercings; tooth gems; and more! Such a cool place to go practice your self care and spoil yourself!!! If you’re considering coming here or making an appointment you won’t regret it! I also loved that Shakey offered free touch ups in the future if needed. That definitely creates a lot of trust and says a lot about the artist, it also plays a huge factor in me wanting to return for future tattoos. I can’t wait to fix my rose piece and get some tooth gems with Nikki in the future! Editing my review, since I was advised to removed the piercing I got.Adding picture as proofin short, the hole made was going down vertically inside the skin and coming out of the bottom, instead of piercing through the nostril.some of the responses I got:* take it out and let it heal and then get it redone* really intense angle i wouldnt be surprised if it tries to reject if you leave it* they should not have let you leave the shop like that, no reputable piercer would think that work is okay

I’m in town for a short time. Walked in, and the staff were very professional and chill. Great vibe! Got exactly what I asked for, with stellar detail. Angel killed it! He took his time and made sure that the detail work was spot on. So good, that I’m going back in a few days.

This was my very first tattoo and it was amazing. The experience was the best I could have ever thought of. Thank you so much Ryan and I am definitely gonna come back to get another one.

It was fantastic. My artist, Ryan, did an amazing job with realistic portraits of my late dogs. It was better than anything I could’ve ever imagined and my family is now itching to get one themselves!

Walked in to this shop after getting an autograph at a concert. I was seen quickly, told a price up front and left with my first tattoo ever! David Levi was really patient and happily answered all of my aftercare questions. He also manipulated every line on this autograph with precise detail. Im really happy with how this came out and have a feeling Ill be back in the future. Thank you!

Came in on vacation to see Shakespeare after hearing/seeing so many great reviews. Decided to finally go through with getting my nipples pierced. I’ve never felt more comfortable in my life from start to finish. He was extremely professional and explained everything from start to finish. I googled tattoo shops near me while I was in Anaheim and this place popped up with the best reviews and the most beautiful pieces. Me and my friends went inside and the ENTIRE staff was amazing. Everyone was nice, respectful, and professional. David did my tattoo and his line work is AMAZING! He took his time and communicated with me throughout the entire process. I did get pierced by Joey and he was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and fast. It was painful but he helped me get through it and ran to get me a soda when I got lightheaded. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED COMING HERE!!!!!

Super welcoming as soon as I walked in. My artist David was really patient with me and my tattoo came out perfect. The pain was very minimal to the point where I could have fell asleep. Definitely would recommend to get your tattoo done at Monsters Den Tattoo shop with the artist David.

Leo, Nikkie and the staff will make you feel right at home. my tattoos are always exactly what I wanted and Leo is super talented and very quick. I love coming back here. Nikkie also pierced my seven year-old daughter’s ears and they healed so quickly! she had a wonderful experience in Nikkie’s pink room. Men and women will feel comfortable here.

Found this place by chance and so happy with my artwork. I was walk-in and was introduced to David my artist. My pieces are small but mean a lot to mean. David was so kind and patient while I looked through font styles. My session was about 2 hours and almost pain free. I am excited to work with David soon on a larger piece.

10/10!! I got my first tattoo here, 4 hearts on the side of my ribcage. I had a great experience! David was my tattoo artist, and he was very professional/ good at his job! Answered the phone on the first ring. Answered all my questions. No wait when I got there. Free water. Got my earlobes pierced. Fixed a bad alignment from an old piercing job. Clean facility. Free water. In and out and on with my day in no time. Great experience. I forgot the guys name, but it was something cool.

I went in a few days ago and everyone was very welcoming. My tattoo artist was Ryan and he was very professional and explained the entire process as this was my 1st tattoo ever. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Came in late night for a random moment tattoo with my daughter.. Monster Gonzalez greeted us and was able to take me right away while Johnathan took my daughter. Monster did excellent work on two tattoos and was able to match the font to a tattoo my son has. Everybody in the shop was extremely friendly. Prices are reasonable, shop has a nice vibe, and is very clean. This is now my go to place and I can’t wait to come back for more!

Came in with a custom idea and I had the please of having Shakey as my artist. He took my rough idea and absolutely CRUSHED this tattoo. I love it. He is very professional, very clean, very accommodating and would definitely recommend. And overall the shop has a nice vibe to it as well! 11/10Edit about 3 weeks after the tattoo. It healed great. His aftercare works wonders. I have 4 other tattoos that all healed terribly even following care instructions but no problems with Shakey.

Overall it was a wonderful experience!! This was my first piercing getting done and was definitely nervous but the reassurance of Nikkies professionalism and attention to detail was awesome. Joey did my double helix piercing and was wonderful! I liked his input on placement and everything went flawlessly. The piercings were also fast and he gives you cues to take your mind off of the actual piercing!

I lost my belly button piercing at the beach and was able to walk in and get new jewelry and have it safely put back in. Joey saved my piercing so quick thank you to them. And it came with cute stickers. The inside was also so cool.

I had a tattoo appointment with David today and he is AMAZING! He drew up the artwork and was so kind when I asked to make a few changes. He’s incredibly detailed & smooth with his work. Hands down best piercing experience ever. This is my second time getting my septum done and it didn’t hurt at all . My eyes didn’t even water 😁 it was way better than all my other experiences at other shops. I had the best experience with Joey , he was gentle and quick . Adding an updated VIDEO now that its all healed up Went in to get a matching tattoo with my husband. Leo and Joey were very friendly and accommodating to what we wanted. However, they were matching tattoos and two different people did each one - which at first I didnt think anything of it, until I left the shop.. Our tattoos are not just matching tattoos , when they are side by side it forms a heart so realistically the same artist should have done both. My husbands looks good, done by Leo. My tattoo the lines are super shaky, not reinforced and incomplete done by Joey. Experience was still overall great just not overall satisfied with the work of my tattoo and unfortunately am from out of state so not able to return for a touch up

In from Canada and my partner wanted an Eagle tattoo, these guys take walk ins, so went to check them out. Shakespear did not disappoint! Good price, great quality, I definitely recommend him!

I previously wrote a 5 star review for Shakespeare but decided to come back and take it down. I was in for a bachelorette and decided to get my second lobe piercing. I was a bit uneasy because my ear was literally bleeding on my dress, but was told that it was normal and figured everything would be fine. I went home and noticed my ear was pierced at an angle, and I have attached a video with a picture for proof that I was serviced at this shop, and how my piercing was done incorrectly. I was super excited for this piercing and thought I was in good hands because he was bragging about being a “master piercer” but clearly has no idea what he’s doing. I was under the assumption that a piercing should be straight through the ear, and not coming out of the side. I am so upset because I’m only in California for a short amount of time and am leaving town tomorrow, plus I’m staying about an hour and a half away from the shop so nothing can really be done. Super disappointed, 0/10 would not recommend getting pierced by Shakespeare. Now I have to wait who knows how long to get my ears pierced again for a piercing was so excited to get.EDIT- I have attached the owner’s response to my review. I don’t drink due to religious reasons. So don’t sit here and make excuses for your employees and their poor piercing skills. Take accountability and train your employees on how to properly pierce. Owner is super unprofessional and speaks to customers with no respect, or decorum.

Took our daughter to get her ears pierced with Nikkie in the pink room and she was amazing!! We were both nervous and she made us feel very comfortable with everything. Her professionalism is top tier! Will definitely recommend any parent if they’re looking to get their little ones ear pierced for the first time to go see Nikkie!! 🙌🏼🖤

Called in the morning for two walk ins and we were in the shop getting tatted 45 minutes later. Phenomenal customer service from everyone in the building and got quality work fast. Everyone made me feel extremely comfortable especially my friend getting his first tattoo ever. Would recommend this shop to everyone.

I had a piercing that i literally could not get out to save my life. Went in and David helped me and after some time he finally got it out! So grateful! The staff was wonderful and so helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Initially, I gave a 5-star review because I felt pressured since Shakespeare asked me to write it in front of him. I went in to change my conch jewelry and ended up being charged $45 for the piercing change and another $35 for the new jewelry. $80 for that? It felt super overpriced, and honestly, I could have gotten a new piercing for that amount. But to be fair, he did tell me the cost upfront, so I’m writing this review to inform others about the high prices. The reason why I’m giving this place a one star review is because I originally wanted a stud piercing, but he said the jewelry was too short and switched it to a different style. I didnt like the new jewelry, but it was too late since he had already put it in. Even if I had told him I didnt like it, there probably wasnt anything else available besides the stud. Since he had already changed the jewelry, I felt like I had no choice but to walk away with it, as changing back to my old jewelry would have still cost me $45. Also, I expected the jewelry change to be a smooth process, but it was very painful. I don’t think he knew that the back piercing was twistable so he kept yanking my piercing!

Went here after an angels game and Joey helped assist me with repiercing my belly button ring that had closed almost 2 months ago due to a surgery so I was so grateful he was able to do that for me as well as pierce an orbital for me. Had a wonderful experience, walked in with a couple of friends super last minute. The vibes were nice the pink room definitely catches your eye when you walk in. They let my friend take pictures in it lol. Anyways, they dealt with me being super indecisive and eventually we flipped a coin and figured out what I was going to get. David personally pierced me and was super sweet while doing so. He was not only super professional, but overall a comforting person to be around. I was super nervous about getting the piercing so Shakespeare came in and started reciting his poems passionately and it really calmed me down. Truly inspirational. Anyways, they let me and my friends hang out in there even after we got pierced and we had super nice conversations with David and Angel. Overall a nice experience, the piercing came out super well and didnt hurt as bad as any of my other piercings. 10/10 would recommend.

I came in for just an earring removal that had been stuck for some days and came here in hopes of getting some help and was not disappointed. Needed a tattoo late at night found these guys on google and went in and it was honestly pretty great. Little prucy but for the work it was worth it. The apprentice doan was super sweet from the beginning and super welcoming. My tattoo artist shakesphere was great and super light handed which was nice. Line work is super clean as well.! Overall great experience.

Great Tattoo shop! Had a walk in and Shakespeare (Shakey) was very transparent with costs and how the tattoo would look. He was also very patient when I had to change the design a few times before I felt it was good. If you do go here I recommend going to Shakespeare as he is very cool to talk to even while getting tatted. 5/5 stars for sure… will most definitely be coming back for more.

Decided to go on a spur of the moment and so glad I did! Got a tattoo to remember one of my favorite parts of the trip. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the artists, given tentative wait times, and taken care of non-stop! If you’re in the area, go get some work done!!! Walk-ins are hard to find and they exceeded all expectations!

My tounge piercing closed from the bottom , searched the closest tattoo & piercing place near me , Joey helped me take out the old piercing and put in the new one! Saved me from the ER for sure! If I was able to put 6 stars I would!

Just got my ear lobes pierced after years of being traumatized from Claires and it was the best experience ever. The pain is VERY minimal and theres not much bleeding after the first couple minutes. My piercer was the absolute sweetest; she explained everything she was doing and even explained the difference between the needle she uses and the gun that Claires uses. Overall an amazing experience and I will be coming back for more piercings and maybe even some tattoos!

Shakespeare didn’t repierce my navel piercing accurately. He created an entirely new whole and his had was shaking while putting the ball on my piercing, so it was tugging on my freshly pierced wound. Not likely to come back.

Ryan is a great guy and great at what he does! My friends and I walked in off the street to get a down to clown tattoo. Shakes free up the clown and Ryan did mine and definitely didn’t clown around with it!

Came to get my daughter’s second ear piercing. Angel was welcoming and made her comfortable. It was a great experience.

I went to get my Tragus piercing and I was pierced by the skinny white guy (I wasn’t told his name), during the process he said it would be a tight fit. I trusted he knew that even though my ear was a little small it would work out. Once the needle went in he started freaking out saying he pierced too deep and called for another piercer to check the placement. His reaction freaked me out because I obviously don’t want a messed up piercing but the other piercer said the placement was fine. I felt his hands shaking as he put the jewelry in. The placement looks good to me but the whole ordeal was scary for me and I still had to pay full price, he even asked me to leave a review for him so here’s the review. Just wish I didn’t have to pay full price for this scare.

Employees here are very kind, and make the experience just that much better. One of the artists named Lizz has such a light and steady hand, there was no crazy pain. Would recommend
