The staff went above and beyond, even offering my children a juice after their ear piercing! This family run business made us feel welcome and comfortable. They were extremely knowledgeable and took time and care to make suggestions and explain. Nice selection of jewelry and clean establishment.

I’ve been coming here for about 2 years now and I will never go anywhere else for piercings. Billy is amazing at what he does and makes you feel comfortable and welcome! The staff is super friendly as well! Come here for your next piercing, you won’t regret it!!

My daughter got her first piercing at Captive Minds today! What a great experience! We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. We were traveling so we called ahead of time and came on in as a walk in appointment. Billy and his wife were phenomenal! Very informational and they made my daughter feel comfortable, explaining the process and what to do as far as after care. Thank you guys so much! We will be back!

Amazing experience! Initially already had a helix piercing done somewhere else with a piercing gun (so where I initially went couldnt help me). The front gem of the earring was pushed into my ear. I called Captive Minds and asked if they would be able to help with removal. Immediately was seen, and quickly taken care of! Not only did he clean and remove the earring, he replaced it to make sure I didnt lose the original piercing. Gave great aftercare advice and products. Highly recommend, very professional and knowledgeable!

I’m super happy with my new helix piercing! I entered with fear and trepidation (I had my last one—just the basic cartilage/first time piercing—done with a gun and ended up crying and trembling afterwards because it hurt so much), but this experience was so much nicer! The piercing itself hurt no more than a bee sting, which was a relief as I have a low pain tolerance. The man that did it was very kind and talked me through the whole thing. I would highly recommend!

I could not believe how great the piercer’s attention to details were with measuring my ears and making sure everything was perfect and even. They were kind and helpful with my child and me. The piercer did a great job respecting my child and getting us both through the piercings. You could tell they were highly experienced. Everything professional and systematic, no feeling rushed. If we ever get pierced again, we will definitely be back.

Mr. Billy and family are the nicest and helpful people. Billy’s professionalism and education re piercing helped me not only decide the best placement, he knew I was on the verge of passing out when I didn’t. Just fyi…0-10 means 0, you’re out, 10 you’re fully aware and awake. LOL! I felt odd but still didn’t realize how close to a 2 I was. He knew I wasn’t ready to stand and had to lie down. Very patient person. You’re in good hands with Billy.I highly recommend Captive Minds! I’ll return in 6-7 weeks to get his opinion if it’s healed or I need to wait before changing out the piercings.Price may seem an expensive but you get what you pay for. I got a piercing here a few years ago and called today with a question and these folks are still absolutely fantastic! Both individuals I spoke to were kind, informative and patient. It meant a lot to me that they were so willing to help. I will certainly be back for future piercings and recommend others!

The first piercing shop I have visited in north carolina, I drove from brevard and it was worth it! Willa and billy were working when I came in and they were both great and created a friendly and welcoming environment. Lots of jewelry options for every piercing! Super knowledgeable guy. He took the time to explain the pros and cons of piercing through certain areas and picked the best location for my nose based on its structure. Came in with a group of 5 friends and we had a great time laughing. Very clean environment as well he pays close attention to aseptic techniques. Always clean, friendly and honest. I wanted a certain piercing and was told it wouldn’t heal properly because my ears are small. Great jewelry selection. I respect the fact that he could have took my money and left me in a painful mess with my desired ear piercing - but they were honest. 10/10

My 10 year old daughter spent some birthday $$ and got her second piercings done. She did amazing and Billy and his wife took such great care of her. Billy talked her through everything he was doing and asked her permission before doing anything. He even had her pick out some stickers and gave her a caprisun for doing so well. His wife gave her cleaning solution for free since it was for her birthday. Overall, this was a great experience!

Love this place. They are always super helpful when I need new jewelry and pricing is reasonable. A group of 5 of us came in and got at least two piercings each. He was professional and was honest with what would work for each person. We’ll be back for sure.

This shop runs like a well-oiled machine. Customers will benefit from his twenty years of experience; he’s very, VERY good at what he does. I’m neurodivergent and particularly high-strung, AND my back was out the day I got pierced; he went above and beyond to make me as physically and emotionally comfortable as possible. Contradictorily, his bedside manner was not for me, but, undoubtedly, that’s a “me” thing, and not a “him” thing. For aptitude, quality, and expertise, look no further for your piercer.

My wife got her nose pierced here and it was a fantastic appointment. Quick, affordable, the guy (wish I rememberer his name, but the owner I presume) who did it was incredibly knowledgeable and put her at ease. Well be back to buy her nose rings and anything else we may need.

Billy and his wife were so friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. I bought my 4 year old daughter in to have her ear piercings look at because they hadn’t been looking great. Billy knew exactly what was going on and help us get on the right track to getting them healed. The next morning her ears had already looked better than they have been. These are such nice people that clearly care about their customers and community. Their prices are reasonable and affordable and theyre very kind, professional, and hygenic/clean. Highly recommend. I had the BEST experience here! Billy was amazing and so kind and welcoming. He took his time making sure the placement markings for my piercings were in the right spots and that I was happy with them before we proceeded. He talked me through every step and checked on me after every piercing to make sure I was okay and ready to do the next. He thoroughly explained the aftercare procedures and assured me that if I had any questions or concerns to call or pop back in. I cant wait to go back to get more work done. Ill be frequenting Captive Minds from here on out for my piercings and cannot recommend this place highly enough! The shop is so well organized and clean too. Dont hesitate to come in, but just know, they do not offer tattoos. Google wont change that for some reason.

I went to see Billy and his wife the past 3 years and my most recent was 3 months ago but every time is the best. Anytime I have friends or family come in, we always come here and get a PROPER treatment/piercing and safe environment as well as them being so professional. Will be coming for many many more!

My 6 year old daughter wanted her ears pierced for her birthday... After a lot of research and reading reviews of different options... we decided to stop by Captive Minds one day after school to check the place out. Let me tell you, by the time we left my daughter couldnt wait to come back to get her ears pierced and Mommy and Daddy felt confidence and peace about returning. Billy and Willa are total pros, walked my daughter (and her parents) through the process, explained why they pierce with titanium hoops instead of studs (this was new to me!) and showed us where she would sit and how it would all work. Talked us through the importance of after-care and put us at ease with their experience and expertise. On the day of, everything went smoothly and Willa had cold Capri-Suns waiting for my daughter and her brother when it was finished. Billy is great with kids, calm and collected, and confident in his craft - And we left feeling like we found the BEST spot for our daughters piercing. They are great!

These people are friendly, knowledgeable, and very hardworking! I came in on July 1st and they were having a record day. I really should have come in a long time ago because their jewelry selection is amazing and pricing is good too. This is definitely a place that will have my repeat business!

LOVE this store. I took my 7 year old to get her ears pierced here about two weeks ago and the experience was wonderful. Clean, fun and kind. They took care of her when she was nervous and made sure we both knew appropriate aftercare. Also a juice box for her...they know the way to make a kid comfortable and happy! I went in yesterday for a couple piercings that I have been wanting for awhile. Upon entering the shop I was extremely anxiety ridden. Billy and his wife were absolutely amazing at helping me calm my nerves, talk me through the entire piercing process, and made sure I was thoroughly informed of aftercare and ensured that I was feeling okay after experiencing two piercings. Anyone can be a piercer, but it takes a professional to make sure you’re highly educated on your piercings of choice, and that cares for you as a customer and individual. Billy and Willa were incredibly welcoming for my ear piercing and taught me so much about what jewelry to wear with my metal allergy, opening a whole world of more reasonably priced options for my crybaby earlobes.Willa very thoroughly explained taking care of my piercing and welcomed me to contact them if I had any questions at all. I took my almost 8 year old daughter to get her ear lobes pierced. She generally has a very low pain tolerance. Billy talked her through everything and meticulously lined and measured before piercing. Studio feels very clean and friendly. My daughter left with a smile on her face. Grateful for such an easy first-time experience.

The fist visit was to correct a piercing that was done out of state. The second visit was to purchase more jewelry and today was for another piercing. Billy is extremely respectful of space and explains everything he’s doing as he does it. His wife is very helpful and kind. You won’t find a better place in the area when it comes to cleanliness, experience and knowledge.

Billy is so professional, straight forward, and kind. He took care of me and my 8 year old daughter this morning (I needed my third earring hole fixed and my daughter needed her ear re pierced), and what a difference in professionalism and high quality product/service it was compared to Claire’s. Actually there really is no comparison at all. Billy and his wife (I forgot to catch her name!) are just wonderful. Highly recommend.

This shop is a GEM.Huge variety of jewelry options and the best customer service I’ve EVER experienced in a piercing/tattoo studio.Owner was so friendly, incredibly professional, and happily answered all of my questions. He explained all of the various options for my request and was clear about the pricing and quality of jewelry. No ego or snobbery; just genuinely helpful and wanted me to be happy with the result.My only regret is that I didn’t come here sooner! Asheville is lucky to have this shop.

Excellent place for your piercing needs ~ the owner is so sweet and takes his time making sure you get exactly what you need/want. This is where you want to go if you have any piercing needs. After reading all of the great reviews I brought my 11 year old in to get her ears pierced. I called beforehand to get pricing and was given all of the needed details. I went in shortly after I called and was helped right away. Maybe waited 5 minutes and then went right back in the piercing room. Everything was clean and sanitary. He was great...explained everything to her before he started and as he was doing the piercing. Didnt take more than 10 minutes and my kids got drinks and stickers afterwards. Thank you so much! Well be back in 8 weeks or so to switch her earrings out and pick something new! I highly recommend this place!

I got both of my nostrils pierced and the owner and his wife were incredibly nice and took amazing care of me!! They took time to make sure they were lined up properly!! Im totally coming back here for my other piercings

I got my lip pierced here and the whole experience was very comfortable and sanitary. The piercer (whos name I cant remember now) made sure I was okay the entire time. He also informs you of all the pros and cons that come with the piercing you are getting. Id recommend this shop for anyone who is thinking about getting a piercing, they also have a large collection of jewelry.

The owner Billy made us feel really comfortable and we had a great experience. My girlfriend and I both went to get our noses pierced, and this was my first piercing ever. I took my son to Captive Minds to have his nose pierced and Billy did such a great job explaining the process that I ended up getting mine pierced, also. He could tell I was a little nervous, but he calmed my fears and did a great job! He measured both our noses with calipers and told us exactly what he recommended for both of us. Best piercing experience I’ve ever had. Billy knew what he was doing and made sure that we understood everything he was doing. Took my daughter to get her ears pierced today. We felt welcome and comfortable from the second we set foot in the front door. 9 year old daughter wanted her ears pierced. I knew to never go to claire or whatever in the mall. Had a few tattoo shops recommend Captive Minds. We were very pleased when we walked in. Piercer went over everything with my daughter making sure she was comfortable and not stressed. He measured each lobe to be sure the piercing was perfect. After the earrings were in he could sense she was feeling light headed and had juice and a cold compress ready to make her comfortable.He made it a very smooth and comfortable experience. Will definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to get a piercing.

We had a great experience getting both my children’s ears pierced at Captive Minds! My daughters were repierced after a botch job har mother took her to the mall for. My son had his pierced for the first time. They both had wonderful experiences and knew what to expect the whole time Billy kept them informed and was extremely patient.

I took my 15 year old in to get a nose piercing for her birthday. Billy was so kind and easy to talk to. He is extremely professional and takes pride in his work. He took time to make sure he had the perfect placement on her nose. She was nervous, but he kept her calm by talking to her. The piercing happened so fast that me and my other daughter didn’t even know it was finished!! He was very thorough in explaining the steps to keep it clean and the importance of keeping it clean. He talked to her about MERSA and gave her a print out with the steps so she wouldn’t forget. I highly recommend this shop and Billy to anyone considering getting a piercing!!!

I got a couple ear piercings the other day. Owners are Super nice and helpful. I appreciated how honest he was with what type of piercings would be best for me based on my ear shape etc. Very laid back. I would 100% recommend coming here.

Billy is an amazing guy. I had a very bad situation with a daith piercing and he was sweet enough to help me change it from the cheap jewelry that was broken off inside the piercing hole. He doesnt do those types of piercings but he saw my situation and helped make it better. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to get a new piercing. Thank you Billy for having a great bedside manner and selling me great jewelry that wont break off in my piercing hole. The jewelry was suppose to be sterling silver with opal coating but it broke off into pieces and was infecting my ear. Notice the silver is now copper colored and the color opals are all broken off.

My 7 year old daughter finally begged me to let her get her ears pierced, and as a mom you always want the best for your kids - especially when it comes to something like a piercing that has lasting effects on her body. Let me tell you, Billy IS the best. I was set up to go to Hi Octane Ink because a few trusted friends recommended them, but due to some tragic lack of communication we were turned away. Google led me to Captive Minds and I regret absolutely nothing! Billy and the lovely lady behind the desk were so welcoming and helpful, and their first priority was my daughter. They were so amazing to her and she left the place having not shed a single tear, smiling, and toting the Capri sun that Billy had kindly given her once the fun part was over. I wish I had known about this place, because I absolutely would have gone here first!

I went to get my lobes redone due to them closing in and Billy was wonderful. Checked the placement for my old holes to make sure they would look okay and finally decided to use them. Awesome service! I had a bad piercing from a different shop that wasnt healing right. I forgot the guys name (sorry!) but he was really friendly and helpful, he explained why it was bad, changed the jewelry, cleaned it up and its already better! Definitely my new place for piercings!

Went in for my third lobe piercing, and was scared to try a new place. They absolutely killed it. Super quick, clean, and so freaking funny. Going back for more for sure!

Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a piercing studio. Billy listened to what I wanted, gave me options and made it happen. I needed replacement jewelry for my septum, rook and antitragus. He made sure each septum ring I bought, would be able to be flipped up onto my nose. He sized my rook and antitragus, and hand bent them to my ear!!! He then replaced each one carefully and skillfully. He was easy to talk to. And for anyone else looking, he has different size industrial lengths. I need a smaller size and only have one bar that fits my ear, the original that has been in my ear for 15+ years. If I ever lose it, I know where to go. He will also hand bend nostril earrings into the correct length for the ‘L’ shape. Once I decide what I want next, captive minds is where I will be going. Thank you Billy! It truly was a wonderful experience.

It was hurting hardcore and then I slept on my left side which was way better and I noticed the back of my right eat is swollen and my parents think its infected I dont know what I should do. But Im hoping its gonna heal great.

Was told all of my stuff was warrantied in store. It was a flat out lie. I was sold equipment as top of the line on a Thursday. They made my equipment cheaper and put out the new stuff on Monday. I will never return, and recommend that all customers beware.
