I love the artists here. So much talent! Ive gotten my tats from Alt for years. Nothing like his artistic experience! His freehand style is mind-blowing. Ive been to other artists throughout the years, no one, and I mean no one compares. The style, application, price and experience are unbeatable! Cant wait for my next tat!

Excellent artists, very clean studio and they follow very sterile guidelines. Amazing work but no big city price. Only bad thing is they dont have their own parking lot so you have to parallel park. My definition of parallel parking is to find another spot. Highly recommend. Reonna blows me away every single time.

Alt is amazing. I came in as a referral. My cousin Jay knows him and knew how badly I wanted my ex-husbands name off of the nape of my neck. It didn’t take days, weeks or months for Alt to see what I had and change it into something beautiful. I walked in at 12 and left at 4. I had the concept but he free handed this design and changed it into the beautiful work of art it is. I’m from South Florida and I can say with absolute certainty that I will never go anywhere else to get a tattoo. Black Star Tattoo for life!!

Great team of tattoo artists. I have been coming here over a decade and getting work done on a couple of sleeves. The artwork is fantastic and the prices are reasonable.

This place is the real deal! Sadie was such a professional and I love my tattoo. Everything was clean and sterile, and I felt very comfortable with Sadie. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a tattoo.

Been going for years. Everybody that works there is awesome, and they all do great work. This were all done by Russell, but I plan to get something from everybody eventually

First, everyone at the shop was really welcoming and they were helpful with scheduling/rescheduling. I was fortunate to work with Reonna, and she is super talented and was very patient/professional with explaining different line, shading, and color options. I couldnt ask for a better experience and couldnt be happier with my new tattoos.

I cant say enough about these guys. Ive known them for a long time and have lots of tattoos by Mr. Russell. Truly good, professional, talanted artists.

The shop is very clean and inviting. Everyone there is really nice and you can tell they value their customers and most important they like their jobs. They take pride in what they do. Both of my tattoos were done by Jared A. Im absolutely in love with them. Prior to my appointments I emailed what I was interested in having done and he knocked them out of the park. I will definitely be returning.

The artists at this shop are phenomenal. Ive been tattooed by several different artists here and their skill and talent blows me away every time. Very clean shop. Amazing staff. They are taking every precaution possible during covid to maintain a safe environment. I highly recommend any artist here.

Reonna is an actual angel from heaven. She’s crazy talented and such a fun, down to earth person to talk to. She gave me a beautiful tattoo that honored my dad, and every time I look at it, I smile and I feel like he’s close. Thank you ree!!! ❤️

The best artists around. Waiting list is longer than most, but you get better work. Price is better than most and you get more done in less time. Very efficient artists and like I said, the best around, hands down. As far as Staxy saya below. Yeah theres a wait..... for great work. If you want it done now go to one of the A1 artists on East Carson Street in Pittsburgh. *That was sarcasm on the A1 part*

Jarrod has a great eye for detail and is truly an artist. I highly recommend Black Star to anyone looking to get a tattoo done right. Its well worth the wait to get in too.

I heard this place was awesome so I made an appointment to get a cover up - waiting list 9 months. Wow, must be great with that wait list!I waited 9 months to find out that the artist, Jerrod, does the design and styles that HE wants and then he suggested that I go somewhere else.Rewinding ---> Zack gave me Jerrods email months before to send my ideas to him so that I could get feedback and a drawing after he got back from Iceland. I never heard back.The fact is that I was lied to and could have been given a quick note to say it wouldnt work out. I wish I knew how things worked at Black Star and not wasted 9 months waiting for my cover up. Terrible customer service.

Pound for pound the absolute best tattoo artists in the pittsburgh area! Jared altamare and jarrod russel are phenomenal! You wont find a better tattoo experience ..period! THE BEST TATTOOS EAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI PERIOD!!! Love blackstar tattoo!!!LOVE THEM!!!
