Always a great pleasure to get tattooed by Scott!! His work is always amazing and beautiful! I love his work so much I am happy to drive an hour and a half to get work done by him!

This review was long overdue. I got work done here a few years ago on my lower leg and have been miserable since and avoid wearing dresses, shorts and bathing suits. Just went to a formal occasion and wore a jumpsuit purposely to conceal my leg. Would have preferred a dress. My tattoo is a red flower with leaves. Scott first worked on the tattoo and did scrollwork that is not good and the flower looked ok, but the leaves were done long and a ridiculous shape. Never really saw leaves like that. Went to see Damon after and he attempted to improve upon Scott’s work. His recommendation was to enlarge the flower which he was able to hide some of the ridiculously long leaf in it. The issue was that when Damon enlarged the flower, he took the easy way out. He used a stencil and just added an identical petal to each of the 4 corners of the flower.what flower is perfectly symmetrical. He also neglected to make the 4 additional petals cohesive with the existing flower. He didn’t add the lines of detail like the existing flower and he didn’t properly shade them to match the existing flower. The flower that he left me with looks big, heavy, flat and boxy and pulls your eye right to it. I went into the shop and explained everything to Scott and we agreed it would be a pretty easy fix, either, by just adding more shading in the petals or doing that and possibly adding more petals. He said he didn’t have his schedule with him, but would text me availability in an hour. Once I left the shop, he texted me that he thought about it and didn’t think they could make me happy and didn’t think it was a good idea to tattoo me. I replied a few times and he did not respond. 1) they should both stand behind their work and try to make their customer satisfied. They took the easy way out by putting the focus on me and me not being able to be satisfied. 2) I have showed my tattoo to many people who agree 100% with my concerns. 3) Scott’s response was, “we have done thousands of tattoos,” and have satisfied customers. So does that mean I have to be satisfied or does that excuse you from a bad tattoo. If you get a bad meal, is it ok for the server to just dismiss you and say, “we have many people who eat here and like it?” Honestly, I don’t know how they stay in business. They really both did lousy work and there are so many skilled tattoo artists out there. I have to go to one of them to fix their mistakes. I am pretty confident that Scott will respond and attempt to put this on me. Good luck. I wouldn’t take a chance on this place with something that is permanent.

Scott is great! I LOVE my tattoo. I brought in an idea and he was wonderful about working with me. He is an incredible artist. Nice environment. Great music.Highly recommend going here.

I Love this place. Scott was very kind, thorough, patient and knowledgeable. The shop is clean and quaint. I felt comfortable immediately and would go back in a heartbeat. I got a lip piercing done and my kid got their ears pierced. I’m looking forward to getting a tattoo from Scott next!Highly recommended!

The place is gorgeous. And its super cozy. The owner is friendly, and chill. And hes an AFI fan! I wish I couldve asked him about his guitars! The artist that tattooed me is from a previous shop, and honestly it was worth the drive up! I love her, and I love her work! 10/10

I got my first tattoo here. I met Scott, the owner, and Damon, the other tattoo artist. First off, they have a sense of professionalism, which is a great trait many seem to lake nowadays. I was also pleasantly surprised by the great work these two do. Everything from the walk in to the tattoo day was nothing but good. Great shop, nice atmosphere, and a comfortable vibe. They gave me very good advice on the healing process and the aftercare and, quite frankly, I recommend them. I look forward to getting my next tattoo here.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Priscilla, first time getting cheek and eyebrow piercings. She measured beautifully even asked me if I wanted a second opinion in the shop. It was fast and did not take as long as I expected. Definitely coming back for more :)

Great experience. Everyone is super friendly and the service is unreal. I just had my second tattoo done with Scott along with my first one and couldn’t be happier. I feel another one coming in the near future with them.

I went there to have my eyebrow pierced two times. My nose along with my septum. I also needed a few pieces of jewelry put back in. The person who pierced me, was calm, professional and a good vibe around her. I changed out my facial piercings from a 18 to a 14 gauge. She was able to do it without stretching me. Ive been going to pleasurable piercings since wild Bill was doing it out of his basement. Thats 33yrs. I believe this place is better than pleasurable. The people are nicer, its just as sanitary. Its done by appointments only. No walk ins allowed guaranteed service by appointments. I have switched where I go to get pierced.

This week I went to Scott Hill Tattoo with my mother and a friend for our second ear lobe piercings. Unlike many other places we were considering for the job, Scotts shop was impeccably clean and welcoming. As it was only our second piercings, Scott took the time to make sure that all of us were extremely comfortable and informed about the procedure and aftercare. I definitely plan on returning for all of my future piercings.

Amazing experience professional and clean. Such care and time taken in the placement and size of the tatoo. Reasonable prices and excellent work.

Scott and Damon are two absolute professionals. Great personalities and easy to work with. Very accommodating with scheduling and covid compliance. I am so happy I got him while he was guesting at Lolas during his move from closter to Bergenfield and I wouldnt want anyone else tattooing me! He was the only artist willing to do the pieces I asked for and responded to me immediately and has great love and passion for what is being inked on me!

A truly great place to get a tattoo. Scott is wonderful, the shop is comfy and clean. Highly recommended 😊

Super helpful with my daith piercing and kind!

I came here to get my first tattoo and i had a great experience. The price was very reasonable and the tattoo looks amazing. The guys were very professional and I had a great experience. They do an amazing job explaining how to take care of your tattoo as it heals.

I can always count on Nikki for clean, sharp lines. I love her work and creativity. I’m so glad she’s here at this beautiful cozy shop! I had such a great experience and will come back as soon as I’m back in town!

I got a rook piercing by Priscilla. She was very nice and very confident in her craft. Piercing was quick and painless. Shop was very clean. I would definitely go back for future piercings and would recommend to anyone interested in getting a piercing.

I had a sternum tattoo done by Nikki. My design was exactly as i’d pictured it and was done with a lot of attention to detail. The pain while getting tatted was much more endurable than it is with other artists i’ve been to, the tattoo healed perfectly and i am 10000% coming back :)

Scott is a friend of mine but I have to say one of the nicest people I have ever met and a truly amazing artist. I am always awestruck with his talent whether with a brush or tattoo needle. His shop is clean and very professional.

My daughter went here for naval piercing and Scott was awesome from start to finish. Highly recommend him for piercings!

In December, I called to book a tattoo for the end of January. They said they didn’t have a schedule for January yet but to text them all of the information and they would get back to me soon. Throughout weeks of not receiving any further information, I have texted and called many times. They have been posting on the instagram and still have not responded to me or given me a call back. Very unprofessional and very rude.

I found Scott Hill tattoo on yelp. They had great reviews so I went in to check them out. I had originally went to another tattoo place but they seemed a little expensive for what I was getting. Scott Hill tattoo gave me a great price and I’m extremely happy with the finish product. It was my first tattoo. They helped me with everything they could. I couldn’t be happier.

Scott Hill Tattoo is by far the most professional tattoo shop in the north jersey/hudson valley area. I went to a bunch of tattoo places to get quotes for my tattoo. Most places seemed disinterested or clearly were trying to take my money. I grew up in Closter and have always said i should go into the tattoo shop and see what it was all about. After all, a tattoo shop in closter is quite bizarre. I was going to my parents house for dinner and i got into closter early and decided to just check out scott hill. I was expecting to just get the same ol situation of trying to be ripped off. To my surprise it was a completely different experience. They were super kind and helpful. They seemed extremely interested in doing my tattoo and were straight forward about the price and how long it was going to take. The price and the amount of time were both very reasonable. they were even appalled by some of the quotes i was receiving from different places. I got my tattoo done this past tuesday (3/18) and all went so well. The Shop is very clean and all the people there hold themselves to very good standards. The shop is polished, unlike some other places where you have disheveled people behind the counter and offensive pictures on the wall. There were non of that, at least non that i saw. The tattoo artist (Damon) was super professional and really serious about his job. He was extremely helpful and patient in answering all my questions, even though i have been tattooed before i still had a lot of them. We had a pleasant conversation during the tattoo, joking around and just talking about all different topics. He just enhanced the already very enjoyable atmosphere. And, most importantly, he did an amazing job! I would highly, highly, HIGHLY recommended going to Scott Hill Tattoo in Closter. You will not regret the decision. I will defiantly be getting more ink done there!

Never was at the other studio, but this one is done up nice.. The owner Scott is personable and has a lot of knowledge of the industry. He has a knack of what he does, and also a skillful hand. Just completed my 3rd session for a total of like 11 hours or so. Will be back for another Im sure.

This makes me so sad that everyone else seems to have had a great experience and mine was far from it... :( I wanted to get a new tat for my b day and have been in there before for some body jewelry and was referred to go here for a tat. I am a local and was around the corner at a bakery, (thank you Closter for all the coffee shops/ bakeries) Walked over when they were supposed to open (grace period of 15) and no one was there went home and called about an 1.5 hours after they listed they would be open. Called talked to the owner, the girl I was recommended to go to was not in yet left my number for her when she got in. Finally got in contact with her, informed her of what I wanted. She first said as an artist she would not do my wanted piece because of placement and she would not want to touch it up repeatedly. (I want a small preferably in white, nude, or light grey finger tat) I have a tat on the bottom of my foot and 5 others and understand about fading a rubbing off, but I really would just prefer that scar look. I then asked if that was just her policy or the shops, she said the shops, so I asked then if she had an artist that she would recommend that she knows would do the tat or even another artist that she could send me in a direction to get this piece done..GOD FORBID I ASKED!!!. So rude, so unprofessional I have never had an experience like this at any tattoo shop. You never know who you are talking to over the phone and there was no reason for the service I received, honestly appalled.

Jessica was wonderful, she is a great artist. Me, and my husband both loved our tattoos.

Priscilla did my piercing it was fast she was focused and very professional she did my piercing right ill be going back for more and set up a tattoo apt thank you!!

This place is amazing!! i just went in today for a belly piercing and scott was so funny and nice about everything. definitely would recommend!
