Best piercing place around! Mike and Sophia are both very professional and welcoming. They made the experience entirely about me, unlike some places where they dont give you the time needed. Mike was extremely knowledgeable about piercing and also kept my ear shape/veins in mind, so that my piercings would heal well. The place was exceptionally clean and had a nice selection of jewelry. They provided the aftercare wash to me and made sure I understood the care needed. I felt very comfortable there and will definitely go back if I get more piercings. They are worth every penny, quality and skilled piercing is not something to skimp on. If youre going to look at yourself in the mirror every day then pay for it to be done right the first time! Mike is a PRO and was patient with me. I got 8 piercings in one sitting and he made it seem like it flew by. Stop reading and make your appointment!!

Took my daughter here to redo her ear piercings. They are very kind and explained everything to my daughter to make her feel as comfortable as possible. Piercings came out straight and she loves them 🤙🏼

Fantastic experience. Ive been here twice now. Once to get my nose pierced and now my septum. Sophia and Mike are so nice and knowledgeable. Mike explains everything before and during the piercing. Sophia makes very sure you understand the aftercare before you leave. This is the place to get your piercings done!

I had gotten my lip pierced about two weeks earlier when I went on a family getaway to big bear. I was cleaning my piercing when my stud went down the drain 😔. Monkeyshines had the best reviews so I walked in for q new stud. Mike was amazing. He fixed my piercing and gave me new advise on how to better care for my piercing. Cleanliness and customer service was the best. His products are also by far better than I thought. It’s been just a few days after my visit to his shop and my lip looks better than what I had it two weeks after it was pierced. Definitely will be planning a new getaway just to get a new piercing at this location.

Mike and Sophia are just awesome. So sweet and friendly while still being professional. It’s rare that you can say you had a lovely time getting pierced, but Mike made that happen. Thank you both for such a great experience! Can’t wait to go add more piercing to my collection!

My sisters scheduled a piercing appointment on our big bear trip and asked if I wanted to come along (and see if the piercer could fit me in) so I ended up getting my septum pierced while my sister got their nostril pierced. (all of our piercings were $75 each) Sophie and Mike were both awesome. Sophie explained about our aftercare. Overall a great experience.

Its a good business, very knowledgeable and worth their salt. Just didnt appreciate them trying to upsell me on some titanium loops. They were definitely more convenient, but I would have liked to be shown all the options especially since that nots what I asked for. I had to ask for steel. Titanium is better though, but i didnt wanna spend the extra money. Like I totally got them trying to upsell, thats what they need to do to operate their business,Still 4 stars because its still a very very good shop

I got a septum piercing here today and it was an awesome experience! both workers were very friendly and amicable and even let me pick out the gauge and ball size of my ring.the actual piercing was done very professionally and the pain ended the second it was over. i got very thorough aftercare instructions and was in and out of the place in less than 15 minutes.

Such a great place to get piercings, the service was incredible and the husband wife duo were one of the nicest people I have met or have had the pleasure to have served me. They gave recommendations and helped me pick and chose the best choice of piercing to get with the best quality.

This was so much more than I expected, at 47 getting my very first piercing I was feeling extremely cautious and apprehensive. I was met with a warm welcome into a clean, well decorated space with tons of character and ambiance. Being that I work with needles as a profession, I was overcritical of the process and more importantly the cleanliness. The piercing artist has a very professional clean station set up, almost clinical setting where he does the piercings. This is important since it creates confidence that hes using clean and sanitary equipment and techniques. His technique was that of a true professional, not to say it was pain free because it wasnt but I believe as pain free as possible, given that you are piercing the body with a sharp object. If I decided on more piercings I would definitely go back to him and recommend him to friends. He takes his work seriously, has lots of experience, uses a clean sanitary station, and talks you through the whole process. Wonderful first piercing experience!

I came in one night needing to get three piercings on my right ear lobe they did a fantastic job he was super accurate on the Angles and placement to match the left side of my ear it healed a perfectly and even so there was no pain whatsoever if youre ever looking for the best piercing artist on the mountain and I believe in SoCal go no further than MonkeyShines they will treat you right. And their hospitality is through the roof 100% satisfaction. Im planning on going back to get my septum pierced there as well.

First time coming here they were really nice. Replaced my cartilage peircing for me for free and pierced my septum, came out beautifully. Im very satisfied! ^-^

I’ve come here years ago and had some piercings done. I recently lost the backing to an earring and used a random backing my sister had. Obviously, the sterling silver 925 stamp on it was a lie and irritated my skin so badly. I called Monkeyshines since they are appointment only and on specific days, and the wife accommodated me with exactly what I needed. I will forever buy all my studs from them. In a matter of days, my irritated skin was healing and looking better.

Awesome service. I was pretty nervous and they made me feel comfortable :)Edit: two days after getting my piercing the pain from it was unbearable. Not because of the piercing itself but because of the swelling (totally normal) except they put a short labret in it. Not the long type used for healing that I mentioned when gagging it done. Ended up going to inkfamous arte in redlands where they put in a long labret (healing size) and it was literally instant relief. The black one is the one I had done 7 years ago. The spec of silver is the one they did that dug into the back of my lip.

The owner and piercer are amazing. They made sure I was comfortable and were extremely professional. The prices are reasonable and they make sure you are educated on how to properly clean your piercing.

I went in there on June 10 to buy ear jewelry and then spontaneously decided to get my navel piercing. They were very friendly, and made me feel really comfortable. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in Big Bear.

They were able to replace jewelry in two sensitive spots I was sure were closed for good with minimal pain in a super clean, professional environment. Would absolutely trust them with new piercings in the future!

So, the sign says open 11am till 8pm. I get there at 1pm and a not says they stepped out and to call them they are only 5 minutes away. I call and leave a message, someone calls me back 25 minutes later and tells me they will only be there from 4pm until 8pm. We go back at 4pm and there is another customer who went thru the same thing and was told to be there at 4. At 4:30 a call roll up and they tell us they tell us they were told they would be open at 5...we left
