I cant say enough about the great service we received. My 9 yo got her ears pierced and had a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly. Answering questions as needed and helped her find earrings in our budget and ones she really liked. Yes, you will pay more at tattoo/piercing place but the professional and knowledgeable atmosphere was top notch! Highly recommend Aileen and Alchemist staff.

I stopped in the shop this afternoon looking for a new nose ring. The front desk gal was so helpful and friendly. She was very knowledgeable with the different type and styles of jewelry. So then I decided I would like a new piercing after looking at all the great jewelry. I did not have an appointment. She went to check to see if they could fit me in. Came back and let me know that I would be able to get a piecing today. She helped me pick out the jewelry and set me up with the paperwork. Shortly after Jay came and took me back. He introduced himself and then started the process. He was so incredible. He talked me through everything and explained the aftercare. He did such a great job with my piercing. I absolutely love it!! Now I want to come back for another one!! Thank you so much for a great experience. I would 10 out of 10 recommend! Jay and staff were all amazing and friendly. :)

Love this place for so many reasons. The atmosphere is amazing, and youll never leave feeling like you didnt get all your questions answered or without amazing service. They set the bar so high I dont know if I can ever go anywhere else and not feel like Im missing out. They are the gold standard for tattoo and piercing needs.

I just moved from South Carolina and have been searching for a new ink, etc shop. The people at Alchemist are SO kind, and answered any and all questions before my piercing! Their space is really welcoming too! Love them, and definitely going back!

I absolutely love this place. I usually walk in with some nerves but they quickly disappear from the environment alone. Its beautiful, cozy, and you feel right at home. I have 11 piercings now and alchemist has done all of them except for 2. Theyre phenomenal and professional, everyone is super enthusiastic about their job to help you, and will hype you up as you decide what kind of body mod you want. Their piercers give their experienced advice as you decide, even warning you about concerns with anatomy and healing. I always recommend Alchemist to whoever asks me about my piercings. Absolutely worth the trip from anywhere in ND.

This is by far my favorite shop for both tattoos and piercings! Simeon is an amazing artist and I cant get enough of his work along with the colors that pop in my tattoos! Aileen made me feel so comfortable with my piercings and she is very professional as well as explains everything as she goes. The ladies that hold down the front are always helpful and welcoming. I cant wait to go back next week!

My sister and I walked into this shop for piercings and we were so pleasantly surprised. Being from Bismarck but no longer living there, it was so nice to see such an inclusive space in the downtown area.Everyone we interacted with were so kind. This group of people are absolutely amazing!! The shop is beautiful and they are so friendly. I set up an appointment with Aileen for an eyebrow piercing and she was fantastic. Very friendly and made sure to have a fun relaxing environment. Everyone was so helpful making sure I was aware of heal time variations since everyone is different, how to properly clean and care for the piercing and the variety of jewelry available is fantastic. Love the opal jewelry I chose. Prices were reasonable as well. Highly recommend this business. I will definitely go back if I decide to get another piercing and plan on going there for my next tattoo as well.

Super friendly staff, awesome environment, and amazing artists. I listened in on the piercers while getting tattooed and can honestly say I think they are some of the nicest, most calming piercers Ive seen. Simeon did my sleeve, and he is fantastic as both an artist and company, would recommend him to anyone.

Walked in to check out some piercing studs - was greeted immediately by friendly front-desk staff. Was able to get in that day for a quick double helix piercing with Jay Dias. Very nice, friendly, easy to work with. He made sure the placement dots were where I wanted them, and that the posts angled perfectly.

I wouldnt recommend this place. The young girl who worked there had an attitude and was rude. We will not return.Reponse to the so called manager:I was not rude to your clerk. She was refusing to give back our IDs, she was pressing hard on the ids when I asked for them back. The only thing that didnt match was our last name, so what! My name was on her ID. MAYBE... little customer service training and common courtesy would benefit your employees and maybe you as well. If you witnessed what happened why didnt you step in to help, instead of standing there in judgement. Maybe my skin color had something to do with it, since you didnt have nothing to say til now!!

I’m not the type to post reviews, but today I had such a good experience. I have been here for 4 other piercings and have had very good experiences every time but this time was amazing. I went in to get a piercing and the lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and sweet. she was very knowledgeable about the piercing and helped me make my decision about which was the best one to get. she was also very helpful when i was deciding what jewelry to get. Jay was my piercer and did amazing. he was very sweet, knowledgeable, and talkative which eased my nerves. i got my conch pierced and was pretty scared and he helped calm my nerves and it was painless. overall an amazing experience and i will be returning and recommend to all my friends

Hands down the best place in town. max is an absolute unit when it comes to tattooing, not to mention the fact hes super welcoming and helpful. he hammered out 3 decent sized tattoos on me in a span of 2 and a half hrs and they’re the most solid tattoos that i have. 10/10 recommend alchemist

I have had such a good experience there. I got tons of piercings from there along with a bunch of tattoos now as well. I haven’t had a bad experience with them and I’m positive I never will. The piercers Jay, Aileen, and Allyx are some of the sweetest people I have ever met if I’m being completely honest. They always put a smile on my face every time I walk in there. Allyx always runs over and asks me what I’m getting next or making sure I’m okay. 😂 I always like coming in and seeing the counter people as well Connor, Rigby, and Lauren are so nice as well. I love that I can come in and start a conversation with them and just enjoy the company of other people there rather then get straight to the point of why I’m there I like talking with them. I have gotten tattooed only by max so far but he is such an amazing tattoo artist and always reassures to make sure I’m okay and does his job so well. I like that you can talk to the artists on their business pages and get stuff sorted out and they are so nice about it! I go in there frequently I feel like and the fact they are remembering me by name just fills me with joy because it means they care enough about their clients to remember their names. Everyone in there always has smiles on there faces and ready to help you however they can. You can tell they love their jobs a lot and they are like a family there. I would totally recommend this place to get tattooed and pierced I told all my friends to come here and anyone who asks!!! I know every time I have to go there I get excited for it! So yeah go get a tattoo, go get a piercing, you won’t be sorry.❤️

Ive had two experiences with Alchemist over the last 4 months & the crew there is simply amazing! Jay pierced my nose, he was incredibly kind & knowledgeable about the entire process which put my anxious heart to ease. I got my 2nd set of lobes & helix done by Aileen and I swear to god she is the sweetest woman ever. Im moving to Minneapolis to school and I will deeply miss this place. I havent even gotten a tattoo yet but these are the people I would go to first if I wanted one. The entire team is phenomenal, when I walk into this store & I feel like I am with family. I would recommend Alchemist to anyone & everyone!

I went into this place yesterday at 1 to get my ears pierced by Jay (I got my third lobe piercings…again), and to be honest he did such a good job!! He was so nice and talkative which was such a relief compared to the other place I went to get my third lobe piercings the first time (first time the dude didn’t do a good job and i had to close em) He answered all of my questions which I appreciated! I will def be having Jay as my main go to :-) The jewelry selection was super nice as well! The receptionist person was super friendly and was helpful as well! (The only thing was how expensive the jewelry was but it’s honestly reasonable haha) Thank you guys for being awesome, y’all made my day I will definitely be coming back for a tattoo and more piercings sometime! 👀

I had gotten my conch pierced here and the lady who pierced my ear did an amazing job and is very well experienced. I would 100 percent recommend going here for a piercing.

Alchemist is amazing! I’ve gone there for every single one of my piercing and Aileen is so great! She makes you feel comfortable, and relaxed. I just had an infected piercing that was not healing and Aileen removed it for me, and told me she would re pierce for free for me in a month🥰! She’s great as well as her employees and the environment is also just as great!

Had a tattoo scheduled with a friend in August and had it rescheduled last minute twice. November came around and we were promised a refund for the inconvenience but every few days we would ask and got told to wait a just a little longer. Two weeks later we finally got our money back. Both of us paid $400 just to wait three months and not get a tattoo. Felt like the organization and accountability just wasn’t there. Very sad considering I’ve gotten pierced and tattooed there and loved it but will not be returning

She has been waiting and waiting for this and they made the whole process very positive and put her at ease with juice and snacks, talking her through it and letting her pick a sticker at the end. Jay Dias did an amazing job on my philtrum piercing and my husband’s industrial piercing! He was very kind, professional, and informative. He has lots of knowledge of piercings, placement, and aftercare… and he made the process very smooth. The ladies up front were also so kind and helpful with checking us in and helping us pick out incredible jewelry. Very clean and professional all the way around! We will definitely be back soon for more piercings and hopefully tattoos in the near future.

Have gone to alchemist since moving to Bismarck ND and cannot recommend highly enough. Owners are great, and you always feel welcomed. Both Chris and Max have given me 10/10 tattoos. Also a huge shout out to Jay over in piercing. Loves his job and is great at it. Added a new piercing for the wife and I just the other day. Great shop with great people.

My 7yo daughter wanted her ears pierced and when we arrived for our appointment the staff was absolutely wonderful and so respectful of her and her experience. (She ended up deciding not to get her ears pierced *yet* and they applauded her for her bravery in making her own choices about her body, while not charging us for the trial run.) I could not rave about this business enough - compassionate, top notch professionals! IF and when shes ready, we will be coming back to Alchemist Tattoo & Piercing!

Would not recommend. Poor customer service. Had my daith pierced by jay on March 31. He told me and my friend that we needed to wait two months before changing the jewelry and that if we came back in two months we could get new jewelry there and he’d help us put it in. I waited the two months and was able to get another piece of jewelry in however it ended up irritating the skin on my ear around the piercing so I took it out last evening. I went in there today to get a new piece of jewelry and help putting it in. The lady working was extremely rude and would not help. she appeared to be the only one in the store at that time. She told me that it takes like 6 months for these to heal and I explained what jay had told me and that I need a smaller piece because my career involves use of a stethoscope. She got snooty with me and said “you were informed when you got the piercing that healthcare workers should not get this piercing due to that”. Which I in fact was not told when I got it done because I was never once asked my profession. Neither was my friend. The lady told me that I would have to buy a different piece of jewelry with a ball on it so nothing slides through and could not be small as it isn’t completely healed. I again informed her that isn’t what I was told and she said “no one working here would be comfortable putting something that small in and I shouldn’t have taken what I had out”. I said well you’re wasting my time and I guess this piercing was a waste of my money. Jay was friendly however after my experience today, Would not recommend and will never go back.

This crew is top notch in my book! They are extremely personable and knowledgeable in their areas. Aileen has always gone above and beyond with her training to be the best piercer she can be and for that she has always had my business, I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I’m not really one to write reviews but I really want there to be some change. I went in to get my septum pierced. The staff helping me with the paperwork and finding me the right jewelry were super helpful and friendly. But the Allyx who pierced me was super short and was rude. Not to mention she pierced my nostril maybe a year ago, and I had the same issues. She didn’t try to make conversation or make me feel welcome. My friend asked if he could record and she bluntly said nope. With no explanation to why. I am fine that he couldn’t record it, and didn’t provide any explanation as to why. Which I have no issue that he couldn’t record but I feel like an explanation would’ve been nice. Or just being friendly about it. I feel like getting tattooed or pierced should be a happy and welcoming experience but honestly she made my experience worse. She never introduced herself or tried to even make conversation. She seemed like she was in a rush or just wanted to be done with me. I know she was an apprentice but the overall piercing experience was bad. I have had my nostril pierced by Jay before and it was an amazing experience. He was super sweet and struck up conversation to help ease the stress. I really enjoy doing business here but honestly after today I don’t want to based of this experience. If I do I will ask for a different piercer.

The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and were super comforting and helpful went I was nervous about my piercing! Aileen is great to work with; she did a fantastic job and I felt totally safe in her hands. The studio is clean and it’s overall just a really pleasant experience. I live two hours away, and yet I’ll definitely be coming back for future piercings!

These guys are always fantastic. Ive gotten multiple piercings here. I had a surgery a week ago and due to scans, hospitalization, and surgery I had to take them all out. The girls were so awesome about helping me get all my jewelry back in before everything closed. They have fantastic one of a kind jewelry! Plus, they remember you by name and get you in and out. I arrived looking to get a regular navel piercing. I have never had a tattoo or other body piercings, so I was a little anxious. The piercer had first checked to see what type of piercing would work for me, and I picked a small green gem piercing for about $60, made of titanium. I have very bad metal allergies, but the quality of their stock is truly the BEST of the BEST!Now to the piercing part:There was a very nice young woman with dark hair who was very welcoming, and she took the time to make sure the piercing would be aligned perfectly. She even let me check it first:)As far as the pain goes, it was VERY minimal. Mind you, I am someone who hates needles... I didnt even feel a needle, just a slight pinch and a tiny pulling sensation. The piercing process only took about 2 minutes total. And as someone prone to infection, I havent even gotten any redness after following their cleaning instructions via email.I will definitely come back for more of their jewelry, and for any other piercings or tattoos. These people are passionate, and wont waste your time!

I have gone to Alchemist for my most recent piercings and I couldnt be happier! Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful, it felt like they were all very invested in and happy doing what they do! The pricing is very reasonable and the process of getting the piercings was almost painless. I live 3 hours away and will happily make the drive to Alchemist for any additional work! ☺️

I have over 30 piercings and this shop makes my top 3 piercing shop lists. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and will tell you straight up if a piercing wont work on your anatomy rather then take your money and let it reject later. They have a great selection of quality jewelry and even tho they get quite busy the wait is worth it.

Got my sons ears pierced and my nose pierced in January. They were extremely thorough with explaining the process, obtaining consent, the quality of their products, and knowledge of care. I have gone to Aileen for over 10years now for all my piercing needs she is the only one that I have trusted to put holes in my body and guys lemme tell you what…you are not just getting a piercing you are getting an education on your piercing and how to take care of it!! Jay was wonderful as was the gentleman at the register. Jay replaced the jewelry my son needed replaced, explained how to take care of the daith piercings better and what to do in the future. They explained the specifics of the jewelry and how to remove them and what to do if he needs a retainer for future head medical imaging. They were extremely professional and friendly. Id highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional piercing.

I was really impressed with Aileens work and heard many good things from friends who got their piercings here. I got my nose pierced and am so happy how it turned out! Placement is perfect. To my amazement, it really didnt hurt. Maybe a 2 out of 10 on the pain scale.I recommend this place to anyone looking to get high quality jewelry as well.

They are always so personable when Im there and very clean/sanitary and knowledgeable and just fun to be around. We took our 10 yo daughter to get her ears pierced by Aileen. I cannot even begin to describe the experience. Aileen spoke only to our daughter making her aware that her feelings were the only thing that mattered. She told our daughter the importance of her own body, how she only gets one in her lifetime and the understanding that she gets to decide what happens to her body at all times. Our daughter was immediately comfortable with Aileen and the respect they gave each other was so great to watch. Our daughter was so happy with her experience and that was all due to the communication Aileen gave her.

Been going here for years and have about 50 hours of tattooing with them. There’s definitely a reason I continue going back. All the artists make it such a relaxed fun atmosphere and are also extremely professional. In my opinion their talent all around is unmatched by any other shop around. I like tattoos... but Im not an artist. Thank God Rich IS!! I came to him with an idea and he not only brought that vision to life for me, but also covered an old, tired piece I had with BEAUTIFUL new art.Because I had such a great experience, I booked with him when I was ready for another original piece. He didnt disappoint - and again, while I was there, he refreshed an old tattoo that I hardly even noticed anymore because it was so faded.His eye for color and balance is exemplary. I hope he stays around Bismarck for a long time... I have more ideas I want to pursue and Rich is my guy!! (My daughter was so jealous of my amazing art that she also has a Rich Hudson piece to be proud of! I have gotten most of my piercings from Alchemist. Aileen, Allyx, and Rigby are all fantastic to work with. Theyre incredibly professional and are willing to answer any of my questions and dont make me feel dumb like other piercers and specialists have. I will continue to go to them and I highly recommend them for anyone whos looking for a piercing.

Getting pierced by Alyx was an awful experience. She did not use clamps when performing my tongue piercing, not was she even remotely gentle or sympathetic. She was rude both times i went in there and when i called the store to ask about changing my jewelry. She gave no instructions upon having my barbell shortened when i was there as well. She was rough and practically yanked my tongue out of my mouth when i went in. If you go in, ask for a different piercing artist.

I got my first Tattoo here. Rich is very friendly and always made sure I was comfortable. The work he did on me was exactly what I wanted. He also made sure I dont get infected from the aftermath of getting a tattoo. The place and the tools are clean. Very safe and friendly place to get a tattoo.

Rich is an amazing artist and has done 4 of my tattoos. His colour work continues to amaze me and he has always blown me away with the finished piece. Rich is a wonderful guy, very friendly, really knows how to make you feel at ease in the chair. I will be going back for my next tattoo ideas for sure.

Ive been wanting a tattoo with my favorite Persian proverb for about 20 yrs and today I finally went in. I booked a sitting with Simon. I gave him some ideas of what Id like and he nailed every aspect of the proverb... This was my 1st tattoo and Simon walked me through what to expect...He knew that I was nervous and made me feel so comfortable. I highly suggest going to Alchemist. They have amazing artists. Im already thinking about my next one and look forward to Simon designing it.

Called to set up appointment to have 4 piercings put back in (had to take them out for surgery), was told they would only do it if I bought the hardware from them, and even after I explained I had them for years, they refused and said I would need to buy new jewelry. Just ridiculous. Guess I won’t ever be using their services. I would give 0 stars if possible.

Hands down the best place to get tattooed in the state of North Dakota. I lived in Utah for a year and still ended up flying up to Bismarck just to get tattooed because I didnt trust anyone in southern Utah. I fully trust every artist there with my skin. They are all super talented and extremely nice guys. Very excited to get tattooed here in the future and will continue to go here because of the atmosphere and the wonderful people that work there.

Third tattoo at Alchemist (tatted by Sampson, Chris, and Simeon) and they are the best of the best. They are so awesome to talk to while your piece is being done, its a great atmosphere, and the artwork is AMAZING. Definitely the place to go.

Rich is the only artist I will go to from now on. He has done several pieces on me now and I couldnt be happier with how they turned out. His work is original and he truly goes above and beyond for his clients. I firmly believe he is one of the best working artists in the state.

Simeon, Rich and Chris are all very talented artists who are very passionate about their work and it shows. They take the time to give you the art that you want on your body. I have been tattooed by Rich on 3 separate occasions and each time I have walked out of Alchemist Tattoo extremely satisfied. On the last tattoo, he noticed I was having a tough time with the pain and applied some numbing cream during the tattoo. Not only did he give me the tattoo I wanted, he made sure I was comfortable during the experience. These guys are awesome. 10/10

Alchemist re scheduled me 3 different times, and then when I physically couldnt make it in to the appointment, the kept my $70 down payment. Then I called and they were rude about it, and wouldnt let me re schedule with them. Very disappointed with customer service. Good artist, very unorganized.

Any friends ask me where to get a piercing or tattoo I send them here. Best place in town (plus you can actually reach them when you want to schedule an appointment) unlike some other places in town. Dont waste your money on lesser quality when you can get what you need here.

I had one tattoo done there by a former artist as well as my septum pierced by Aileen. The environment is super clean and both of my services were done exceptionally well.

Aileen is a fantastic piercer with tons of experience. She has worked at some of the best shops in the world and continues being at the forefront of learning and pushing her craft.

My Tattoo artist was Nikki, i had a image of what i wanted and she executed it flawlessly! I got a memorial tattoo done on my wrist for my sister. This was my first tattoo, and after my experience with Nikki i cant wait to get another. 💜🌹

I regret trusting Rich with my most important piece. This piece required very specific color choices to which Rich responded “that’s no problem” during our consultation. Although I did provide a design example, I allowed Rich to utilize his creative liberties in the final design however I was very specific with the coloration. Nonetheless, his creative liberties spilled over into the coloration. Before the haters get on me with “color looks different once it heals and skin tones make a difference”, his color selection is nowhere near what I wanted. His color choices took away every ounce of meaning of the tattoo. Unfortunately I didn’t realize this until it was too late. He got extremely upset when I pointed out his error and attempted to fix it but ending up overworking the skin (which later did become infected). At that point he offered me a follow-up visit once it heals to attempt to remedy the issue. After initially accepting responsibility for the error, he has since done a complete 180 and has placed the entire blame on me. I don’t know how much more I could spell out the specific colors that were required other than the examples I provided which he had right in front of him. He must be color blind is all that I can think of. Nonetheless, his refusing to accept responsibility for his actions says a lot about his character and I regret ever trusting him with something so important to me. What’s even more disappointing is when made aware of the issue the shop owners, Simeon and Chris, have yet to reach out to attempt to remedy situation which says a lot about their character. Needless to say I will not be returning to Alchemist Tattoo for any future work. I have since consulted the best in the business to see if he can attempt to salvage the piece, unfortunately he doesn’t think he can. I guess my only other options are to have it lasered off or appear on Tattoo Nightmares. To sum it up, I trusted the wrong artist with the most important, most expensive, and largest piece that is a disgrace to my body. The real kicker is Rich didn’t even offer me a discount!

Their Artist left or was fired. Who knows. I had a tattoo deposit and as of now its gone. Alchemist tells me to take it up with the artist. Their response was call rich. Alchemist gave no sh!t to my money. 200$ where is my deposit?Upon 1st email to artist I was told deposit is non refundable.I held up my part of the bargain. I just wanted ink. Now my money is gone.For real though, I dont go to get a tattoo trying to be a lawyer. I just expect ink. Alchemist essentially told me to screw myself after I lost out on a deposit.
