Blue Ring Studio Tattoo & Piercing

I just had my second appointment with JR to get my hand tattoo darkened up and get my 11-year-old daughters ears pierced. Just like my first time here it was a great experience! Hes so friendly and a great conversationalist, my daughter enjoyed it immensely hanging out there with us. 100% hes my guy for tattoos and piercings and I wont go anywhere else. Thank you, JR!!

We made a spontaneous decision to get a piercing done for one of my kids. Wed called around to a few spots and he was able to fit us in. His studio is amazing. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. Not at all in a hurry even though he was near closing. My daughter is nervous about needles but hed easily started a conversation with both of us and she was so distracted that he was done before either of us realized he was going for it. His price was standard for the piercing we paid for. He made sure he told her what to expect as far as aftercare and what the healing process would be like before and after the service was done so we had plenty of time to ask questions and be sure that we understand what it would be like. I was glad we got to go there and meet him because we will definitely be going back

Blue Ring Studio is amazing! The owner was super chill and easy to talk to and the experience of getting the tattoo was amazing! It didn’t hurt at all and it came out amazing! I would recommend this Shop to anyone who wants a tattoo.

I cannot express in this review how amazing JR is I knew this was the shop to go to as soon as I walked in and had my first interaction with him. He did a tattoo on my neck and made it exactly how I wanted it and the process was so easy as the time definitely goes by quick and easy as he can definitely hold a conversation and is informative of how the tattoo is going. I had my ears repieced,not only pain less,but a very pleasant experience.Since he didnt have to pierce my ears ( he opened the old holes) I was not charged for piercing,he could have charged for it but was a honest man.Very friendly, clean, if I know anyone that needs his kind service, Id recommend him in a heartbeat

Recommend 10/10 for piercings. I got my nostril repierced here by JR. He was so cool, and made me feel comfortable right off the bat, which is nice because I’m kinda of awkward haha. I took both of my daughters here to get their belly buttons pierced. He was friendly and made them feel comfortable. The shop was clean. We were in and out quickly.

This was my first tattoo, coming from someone who has a hard time putting stickers on things, this was a big decision. Super friendly and professional and I liked his work so I put a deposit down and set a time. Bad luck the night before my appointment someone decided to drive into his shop forcing him to reschedule me. He was very professional again and got me back in as soon as he could. Day before my appt he had some time and offered me a day early so I jumped at it. During the 2.5 hours I had lots of questions and he answered all of them and it made the time go by very fast, all while talking about music and just having a good time. Not to mention very clean and never re-uses anything. Im super happy with the results and will be recommending him and probably going back for more.

Ive only ever been tattooed by JR. I just got two more a few days ago and they are wonderful! Hes just such an easy person to talk to a shoot the bull with. His art is so crazy good! And the finished product is always something Im so happy and proud to have! Plus the shop is always very clean, he doesnt reuse anything. I feel very safe getting a tattoo there knowing its as sanitary as he could possibly make it.Plus his shop is really cool to be in, I love all the collectables!I dont think I could ever say too many nice things about this shop!

JR is an amazing tattoo artist, who puts in very detail oriented work in at least 1 if not multiple (if you ask) sketched to make sure you get exactly what you want. He gets the work done very well and in a timely manner compared to other tattoo artists and so far he is the one I will always go back to even when I move out of state. I plan to visit even just to get work done from him (moving all the way to Florida).

I Always wanted my nose pierced but was terrified because my ears get infected so easily. Im Super sensitive to Fun earrings and was always forced to wear simple expensive real metals and still sometimes had black marks from real gold. Jr assured me he Only uses titanium. My friend Lexi told me it would hurt for a second and make my eyes water but honestly, I didnt really feel anything!!! He was so gentle and quick. Im past my 4 weeks now so Im excited to go pick out a new stud ☮️Thank you Jr! I had A Wonderful experience in your shop. Maybe well do an anklet tattoo next 😉

I got my Medusa done by another piercer and it hurt so bad just for them to change it. He was very gentle when changing out the piercing and was also very sanitary and I love that. 10/10 recommend

I’ve been coming here sense 2019 and don’t feel comfortable going anywhere else or trusting anyone else with my tattoos. From my first tattoo he’s been so helpful with the tattoo service during and after (aftercare ). I love that any time I come he’s super friendly and has even made me feel like family! Myself, best friends, and my family even have come for matching tattoos. I’ve seen people disrespect him and he be cool as a cucumber! Began my transaction over the phone with the owner, JR, who was professional and very accommodating. I brought one of my kids in for dual brow piercings on a first-come first-serve basis and he was in and done in less than 15 minutes. The atmosphere of the establishment is cozy but vibrant with pop-culture memorabilia that appeals to all walks of culture. JR was professional but jovial, efficient but colloquial, and I will absolutely be bringing him more business. 5 stars is not enough for Blue Ring Studios Tattoo and Piercing.

My friend and i came here about a year and a half ago, she got her industrial done and i got my nipples pierced. at first i was scared because it was a man doing them, but he was amazing. i believe hes the owner of the shop. he listened to my requests and somehow didn’t hurt me at all. all i felt was warmth and a little bit of pressure. after we were done, there were people asking if i actually went through with it because i didn’t make a sound. i definitely recommend this place for piercings. at the end, i tried to leave him a decent tip since he did so well, and he literally wouldn’t let me 💀 if i had cash i would’ve just left it there lol. if i stilled lived there, this would be the only place i’d go. i still recommend them to my friends in idaho

Went in to get my double nose piercing jewelry switched out. I came in with heavy bulking jewelry causing irritation and walked out with beautiful light weight jewelry! After helping me pick out what I wanted he changed them out for me, quickly and so gentle! He explained why my old ones were causing irritation and gave me clear advice to properly care for my piercings! Warm, friendly, funny, and soooo polite! I will be returning and recommending to anyone wanting a new forever piercer/tattoo home!

Went there years ago, so maybe theyve gotten their act together since then, but the guy didnt even use a stencil for the small tattoo I wanted. Didnt sketch out the changes I wanted, despite the fact that I was willing to wait. And now, I cringe if I look at it too long. Im actually terrified to get another tattoo because of how much I hated my first experience. Definitely going to get this covered up once I get the courage

If I could give JR at Blue Ring Studios 10 stars I would give above and beyond the best rating for the beautiful work he did with the cover up of my tattoo! JR is honest and doesnt try to sugar coat anything. He has a very laid back approach so he makes the whole experience very comfortable. He is definitely professional when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation in everything he uses in his process. When consulting with him about what I wanted and giving him free reign on design, color, etc. JR came up with this piece that is better than I could have imagined! He answers any questions you may have and he gives plenty of instructions for after care. His prices are decent and I will be going back to add more to the piece I have now because I am so happy with the result, I am in awe of how awesome it turned out for having a cover up done. I was really nervous after 13 yrs since my first tattoo and JR has changed my whole opinion from the overall experience I had in his studio. He also did a cover up on my husbands arm and it turned out awesome so we will definitely be going back to JR because he is awesome and truly a cool guy to do business with here in Caldwell. We would recommend him to anyone!

I stopped in to Blue Ring Studio on a whim, hoping to purchase a new nose post and have it switched out. There were three other customers in the shop, JR was handling them all with ease and made each of us feel welcome. The service was friendly, the shop was clean and JR was very personable. He helped me select the jewelry I wanted and had it changed out quickly and efficiently. There were two other people in there booking tattoo appointments as well, seemed like a neat shop.

I just happened to be visiting Caldwell and took a shot with Blue Ring for a group of us wanting tattoos. Now I drive 5+ hours just to see the only person I trust with my skin. JR is always professional and fair, his art and skill speaks for itself, and overall hes just a really awesome person. I cant say enough good things!

This location has a unique, friendly feel to it. Its always clean. JR really listens to requests that you make, and takes time to draft what you want to your liking. He takes his time when doing any tattoo to ensure every part of it is clean and what you expect. With this in mind, he understands time management is an important skill in order to give everyone a great experience. Scheduling in advance is important, so that he can make a spot just to attend to you, and have time to draft the tattoo before hand. While you are getting your tattoo, he is very patient in making sure you are comfortable, and he is a captain conversationalist, taking your attention away from the discomfort of the tattoo. Its been the best experience Ive had getting my tattoo from him and I will go nowhere else

Jr has done wonderful by us and continues to! Hes super affordable and kind. He has done both my last tattoo (which has healed wonderfully and looks as bomb as it did when I got it) with a light hand and quicker than I thought possible for it, and my septum! JR did an amazing job on my tattoo. I took a lot of time to research his previous work and loved his style. He worked with me a lot before I came to get a feel for what I was looking for as I lived out of town. Once I came to Caldwell his ideas made it super easy to decide on how I wanted to proceed with my tattoo. He was very professional while also having an entertaining and awesome personality. His parlor was clean and he was very accommodating. He balanced time between sitting and taking a break well, as I was in there for about a good 7 hours getting my piece done. A friend of mine and I went in and got a couple piercings done. My friend got her Helix and is extremely happy with not only how it was done but the instructions of how to care for it after and how its healing.I got my dermal dimples done. He did a great job! On the second one it took a little extra work to get it in and he was very patient and gentle until it was put in perfect place. Ive had no problems with them and I think they look fabulous. Also, he noticed I was really shaky and gave me good instruction that helped me calm down in the middle of the procedure and I appreciated that.Were both ready to get another set of piercings done and hell be the only place that we go to!

Me and a family member went to get our nose pierced spontaneously , I called and he wasn’t available but I got a text right after! and got my questions answered about appointments and how much it would cost . We came in while he was tattooing someone and made it just in time before they closed . While we waited outside about 4 groups of people came in and he let them know we were there “in line” so that was amazing . He’s a cool guy . My cousin now wants to go back and get his nose pierced because of how good the price was and how ours turned out . Before the piercing he marked it with pen to see which spot was best and it was perfect (he even read my mind and knew I would want a hoop in the future😂) overall amazing experience and service .I do wish I asked more questions about cleaning and if movement of the jewelry was normal cause I’m now googling a lot of things 😂😂 but I’m for sure coming back in 4 months to get that good deal on new jewelry cause I didn’t have the budget to buy it right away . I wish I could rate 10 stars ⭐️ first real piercing and it was the best experience

JR was super professional but chill and patient through the entire process from booking of the appointment to the closing transaction. Such an amazing experience! This was not my first tattoo, but by far my best tattooing experience! JR made my friend and I so comfortable and at ease as we got our tattoos. He was supportive and frank—telling me what would work and what he wouldn’t recommend and then didn’t make me feel dumb for my tattoo idea like other tattoo artists had. He had a very light hand and was able to achieve incredibly fine lettering that looks amazing. He was also great about opening the new needle and grip in front of us, and disposing of them in his sharps container. There was no doubt in my mind that he runs a clean shop and is conscientious of infections and contamination. I’m so excited to go back and get more work done there. I couldn’t recommend more strongly.

I had a barbell earring that lost one of its balls after 10 years of having it, so I went in for a replacement earring. They suggested a hoop might look cool and it wouldn’t ever fall out because there is no ball to lose. I took their advice and I absolutely love how it looks! I got my ears pierced at a different shop in another city, and a few days later I lost one earring and the hole closed up. I was back in Caldwell at this point and I was too scared to try to re-pierce it myself. I called Blue Ring after hours and left a voicemail, and within an hour the owner sent me a text asking what was going on. I explained, and he was able to get me an appointment for 9am the next morning. He made me feel very comfortable and the re-piercing didnt hurt at all! He didnt charge me for the pierce, only the earrings, and even threw in a free bottle of piercing cleaner. Great experience, the owner is clearly a great guy!

Tl;dr: Awesome atmosphere, fun shop, great prices, beautiful jewelry. JR is the only person I trust to do my piercings!I love piercings but I have been too nervous to get any after my last two experiences since they were so awful (painful process, constantly infected despite cleaning them, allergic reactions, and never healing up even after 6+ months). Even though I really wanted more piercings, I didnt want to chance it. The only place I trusted was in my hometown over 500 miles away, and I was willing to drive there to get a piercing if it meant it was going to be done RIGHT. Fortunately, I didnt have to travel that far to get a fantastic piercing!Blue Ring Studio is the ONLY place I have found with a solid 5 star review and I can see why! JR is such a cool guy and hes super nice! He is nonjudgmental, answers all questions (no matter how silly you think they are), and hes very honest and upfront with you about stuff. He talked to us about the type of jewelry he carries (whether theyre hypoallergenic, costs, care, etc.) and he worked hard to make sure the piercings worked for us. He marked where he thought the piercings would look best on us but let us know we could have them anywhere we wanted, since it was our piercing and our bodies. But he has such a good eye for this stuff and my piercings look so much better than I imagined! He also tells a lot of great stories, is really relaxed, and is generally a really nice person.I got both a nose ring and a helix piercing. I ended up choosing a beautiful 5-stone opal helix stud and a really pretty light green nose L-ring. The helix stud cost extra since it was a special piece, but its honestly so pretty and well made that I didnt care (and its a very reasonable price too actually). We are also moving soon and he said that he can even mail us any jewelry we want once we move, which I thought was super awesome since some other shops dont do that. But seriously, the prices are SO reasonable compared to other shops! And JR is so good at what he does that my piercings didnt even hurt that much. They arent even that sore/bruised the next day, which is awesome (seeing as my last piercings were sore for over half a year after I got them).My sister got a conch piercing the same time and changed out her nose stud for a hoop, and JR was so awesome in helping her with that.I also love how his studio is set up! Lots of band stuff, movie merchandise, music playing, artwork, etc. Im only disappointed that I discovered this place too late and Ill be moving soon! I would love to have JR do all of my piercings! Went in for my piercings on Black Friday for their amazing deals. I was very nervous, but JR was so professional and calm that it was unnecessary to be nervous. Left with not only the original piercings I wanted, but the tongue for my husband and a tattoo voucher. Very happy to have spent my money here to support the business and wontw go anywhere else here on out.

I had to have an MRI of my brain yesterday. Which means I had to take out some pretty complicated ear piercings for the procedure. You think I can put them back in? Yeah, no. I drive by Blue Ring every day on my way home. So I dropped in today to see if someone could help me. I fully expected them to not have time and schedule a time a different day. JR was no showed on a long appointment and helped me immediately. What a guy. Hes the only one in the shop. I learned so much about him, he genuinely cared to get to know me, and went 100% above what I was expecting as a non-client drop in. I got really nice new jewelery and he re-opened a nearly closed area I had given up on. He really made my whole day. No doubt in my mind hes the guy for the one and only tattoo I ever plan on getting, a wedding symbol for both my husband and I, on our ring fingers. I left in the best mood today. And feel like I made a really good friend. Cant wait to go back.

Got my tongue done last week and Jr is awesome he showed me that he is very sanitary and that absolutely no needle is used twice would absolutely go back again. Wasnt happy with these guys... I tried to set up an appointment to get my daith piercings done... Gave me a day and time to come in for a walk in appointment.... Went in after he told me to come in and was all booked up and I even showed up early to get there first.... Was really hoping to get done here.... But found someone a lot cheaper and with efficiency....I actually did ask for a appointment and you sent a text saying that I come in on Thursday with a walk in at 6 to 6:30. And I was there an half an hour early. I asked for an a appointment with no appointment needed by the owner. Im just not satisfied cause I tried for an appointment and I wasnt given one when I asked for one. And I arrive early so I can get in to get a spot. And some how I missed a spot before the scheduled time to be there... I was willing to pay the $ 70 dollars that you quoted me for. But I got push to the side instead. And i was hoping to quotes for tattoos as well but Im afraid Ill get the same line to come back some other time. Its to bad cause I really wanted to give you my business.
