I highly recommend Be The Change. I have been pierced twice by Amber and tattooed twice by Danica, and both are absolutely amazing human beings. They make you feel comfortable and heard. I have an anxious thing with stuff close to my eyes and Amber made me feel so safe and secure with it so it was as comfortable as possible getting my eyebrow done.I have not personally been pierced by Inez but I have interacted with them and they’re lovely. I had a couple of colleagues get pierced by them and they adored the experience.They are willing to work with children in foster care with DSS guardian approval and celebrate the self-expression of piercings at with youth. They really value the voices of minors that comes in to get pierced.10/10 recommend and will continue to go back to get poked!

Absolutely wonderful piercing experience with Amber on multiple occasions. They have done piercings on both of my kids and it couldn’t have gone better. Amber is extremely knowledgeable and caring and really takes the time to make you feel comfortable. Walking you through the entire process from start to finish, allowing you to leave with beautiful piercings / jewelry and the tools to take care of it once you’re home. Amber is THE BEST!!!! I found them on the APP website, after I was experiencing some complications with preexisting piercings that were done out of state. Ive had a few piercings done in the past year and seen 4 different piercers during that time....Amber is BY FAR the most professional, welcoming, and knowledgeable piercer by A LONG SHOT. They took their time explaining every little detail and option to me to address my concerns and Ive never felt better a piercing. I cant recommend Amber and Be the Change enough!! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!

Had my tattoo done by Danica today and 5 stars isnt enough she was Fantastic! She was super supportive with my anxiety bothering me, she talked to me the entire time and kept my mind on other things. This place is absolutely wonderful! The first experience I had when getting piercings done was so comfortable and relaxing that I would refer anyone and everyone to go here for their piercing/tattoo fix. I and to go back die to complications (due to anatomy, nothing else) and even that was completely wonderful. I took my 9-year-old daughter to get her pierced ears about a month ago. Amber was so kind and patient with her when she questioned if she was ready to get her ears pierced. Ultimately, she chose she was ready and has loved her pierced ears. Amber was thorough with follow-up care education and we have had no signs of infection or issues with healing. We have also loved the earrings used have a flat back which makes sleeping more comfortable. I highly recommend Amber to anyone looking to get a piercing, but especially for kids.

The staff at Be The Change is AMAZING! We wanted to get our daughters ears pierced for her 11th birthday. Inez helped with my purchase of the jewelry and gift certificate and even packed a full gift bag with lollipops, stickers, a mask tether, and care instructions for me to present at her party. When it was time for the piercing appointment, Amber was kind, supportive, informative, and helped to calm my child throughout the process. She made sure that she had, not only our consent, but my daughters, as well (thats a big deal). She continually checked in to assess her comfort level, and even kept her around to make sure she was good once the adrenaline wore off. My daughter wasnt fazed at all and LOVES her new pierced ears. I never would have expected my high-drama kiddo to be so nonplussed by the event. Yes, youll pay more for good, quality jewelry and a real (no gun) piercing, but its definitely worth it. I would 100% recommend Amber, Inez, and Be The Change again and again.

Amber is basically the Queen of Piercing. I am so impressed with her. I went to see her for my first piercing, and not only was she professional, but she took the time to make sure I understood the process and felt comfortable.At a later time, I got a piercing (not by her) that was causing some serious discomfort, and she had me come in, and changed out my jewelry, and was very mindful of my current pain. 4 hours later (now), I feel 0 discomfort, it’s like I never had anything done.Amber is amazing. I highly recommend her.I’m just adding to my review. I just took my 13 yr old son to get his ears pierced with his bday money. And I showed up on the wrong day. I booked Amber and Inez was there and was so kind and was like “if you can wait I’ll pierce you after the one I am about to do”.My son has wanted his ears pierced for so long and was so excited they were going to work him in. He is veryyy shy and closed off and nervous. And Inez was so incredibly wonderful with him. They continued to try to engage conversation even tho he was so scared he could barely talk. He had such a good experience and after when we picked up his bestie so he could show him, he kept talking about Inez and how great they were, and how great they looked. This shop is literally the best place you could ever go to for piercings. Amber and Inez are amazing. And anyone who can keep my child comfortable and calm during the process is a winner in my book.Also, I might add, that Inez really won my son over (he has some mental health issues he inherited from his mother) and he hates me taking pictures. When I asked them if I could take pictures, they asked him, and he said “no” and they said “no, consent matters” and the fact they listened to his response before answering me meant the world to him, but also opened my eyes in some ways as a mom.At the end they said “it is your choice, but can I take pictures for my portfolio of your ears?” And he said “sure”. After we talked and I asked “why did you say yes to them and not to me?” He said “[they] asked me, you asked [them]”This was such a wonderful bonding experience for me and my son for many reasons. thank you Inez!

Be the Change is the best shop I’ve ever gone to for piercings, and will be the only one I go to from here on out. The owner, Amber, is extremely knowledgeable in her craft, and made me feel comfortable and taken care of during the whole process for every piercing I’ve had done by her. This place is awesome! My daughter wanted her ears pierced for the first time. The entire experience was great. Friendly, thorough, explained things well with my kid, very clean, professional, and caring. Inez was wonderful. My little one recently had some difficulty after obsessively changing earrings too often, and they answered my email for help in less than 2 hours. Cant say enough good things.

The studio is super clean, the piercer i spoke with took their time with my consultation, gave me a ton of information about jewelry, healing, possible options for my piercings, etc. During my consultation they offered to look for options for my jewelry that fit a set price range, and was willing to put in effort to research cost effective alternatives to my desired look. (I wanted something very specific, but the jewelry on offer was GORGEOUS) They are so kind and so wonderful, im very grateful to have an app piercer local to me to consult on my body modification journey.

I had my navel pierced a few weeks ago at another shop in town. My body did not agree with the jewelry that I chose as it had a dangle piece and the bar that was used was to curved. My original piercer was out of town. So I contacted Amber and she recommended coming in for a jewelry change. She answered all of my questions and didn’t make mind that my piercing was done at another shop. I made my appointment online for Bee The Change which was so easy I got a text to confirm and a reminder text for my appointment. I showed up and Inez did the change and they were so gentle it did not hurt at all. The shop was so clean, smelled great and was very very organized! I will def be going back!

I love going here to get piercings! Amber is so knowledgeable, professional, honest, friendly, and makes sure she goes at my pace of comfort. I’ve gone to her for multiple piercings and they always turn out looking great and healing well under her instructions. She is honest if she feels there is a better and safer way of doing a piercing and her jewelry is top quality and beautiful.

Would 100% recommend going here for piercings. If I could give over 5 stars I would. I got pierced my Inez who is not only very sweet but also very good at their job. I got snake bites and a septum done today. It went very smooth. It feels like a very safe space mentally and physically. Higher up in pricing but definitely worth it. Plus a super cute bee theme :p.

You can always expect amazing work from Be The Change! I have been tattooed and pierced here, and it’s always a great experience. My partner was most recently tattooed by Danica, and she did a phenomenal job on his shoulder piece. We love that the shop is also proudly queer owned and inclusive of everyone.

I cannot say enough good things about Inez! My daughter ears have taken a good while to heal & she has needed some follow up appointments. Even though Inez didnt do the original piercing, they have gone out of their way to take care of my daughter; asking for consent, checking in on how shes doing and just generally explaining everything thoroughly and being an awesome human! Would definitely recommend.

We were referred to Be the Change by a studio we stopped at in Asheville. My mom, sisters, and I wanted to get our noses pierced while we were together on a girls trip. Amber was absolutely amazing. From the tedious task of helping 4 women choose which jewelry would look best on them, to answering questions, to the actual piercing process, she provided top-notch service. She gave us a little insight to the meaning behind her studio, and we felt even better supporting her and her vision. Our piercings look amazing, and from beginning to end, 10/10, we recommend!

The most professional experience I’ve ever had for a piercing for sure. You might pay a little more than if you go to a typical tattoo parlor but it’s well worth it. They have cute jewelry and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable - I got a piercing from Mara. Also, as a woman, I’d like to add ive never felt so comfy and relaxed in a tattoo/piercing environment. It’s a whole different kind of vibe, so if you’re someone who gets nervous about going to a seedy place filled with a bunch of rough masculinity, you for sure aren’t going to feel that here.

Please don’t be afraid to take your children for ear piercings at this studio, it isn’t that ‘back alley biker bar with needles’ kind of place! I went to get some advice on a piercing that I got almost 10 years ago that I was having some issues with. Amber gave excellent advice and entertained all of my questions. I felt so taken care of! After being deceived by someone claiming to use titanium and actually selling something else, Be The Change renewed our faith and trust that there is a shop in Asheville who cares about safety and their customers. Got my belly button piercing done here, last week. Amazing. Bryan was awesome with helping pick the jewelry that would fit best with how my belly button is. It was quick and painless and didn’t hurt during the days that followed. Highly Recommend.

The owner is great and the staff are very good at what they do. The shop only has top of the line jewelry that i choose not to purchase because I’m a simple gal. I purchased two Opals but I’ll never buy the real deal again. Synthetic Opals look great and then when a ball falls off you’re only out 5 dollars vs. 150 dollars. Just saying. So if you can afford and want to spend money for quality jewelry then this is the place to go.

Got a piercing here a year ago, it has yet to heal and has gotten infected several times since then even following the health instructions. Haven’t seen the guy that did my piercings in any reviews since then, going to have to let it re-seal and get it re-pierced somewhere else. Very disappointed about the loss of money due to the quality of the piercing.
