Blue Heron Tattoo

First time being in the shop. The shop is very clean and everyone was very nice. I actually followed my artist Serenity there, she’s been my artist for 6 years and never lets me down. I’m definitely going to recommend the shop to others :)

I just got my first tattoo today and had THE most wonderful experience from beginning to end! I had first stopped into the shop a couple weeks ago, where Dorothy greeted me and my husband, kindly and patiently answered our endless questions, and scheduled my first appointment to be with Doug. I was naturally a little nervous when I arrived today (both to meet Doug for the first time and to also be getting my very first tattoo), but Doug was absolutely extraordinary! He was tremendously patient with me while trying to find the perfect style and size of the quote I wanted on my forearm. He made sure to work with me until I was completely happy with the stencil and never made me feel like a nuisance or inconvenience when I asked to make changes several times. I sincerely appreciated his laid-back demeanor! He was so reassuring and calming throughout the entire process, that he quickly put all of my worries at ease. The small tattoo itself took about 15 minutes, and the pain was literally no more than that of a cat scratch. Im head over heels in love with the end result! I was SO pleased with my first experience that Ive already decided that Ill be returning very soon to see Doug again for my second!!!

Great tattoo shop. Very comfortable and nice environment with Mark and his wife Dorothy at the helm. These guys are great - they are fun to be around and take a lot of pride in their work. Mark did a piece I brought to him and it came out amazingly well so I came back and asked him to freehand something to go along with it and it is has so far turned out to be pretty epic.

Cant believe I almost forgot to review my favorite tattoo shop with my new account. If you need work done, go here, dont go anywhere else. The reviews speak for themselves. I will hopefully be coming back for a 4th time in the near future

Great shop with very friendly staff. Doug did an amazing job on my wrist tattoo. It was very intricate work and it came out fantastic. Highly recommend and will definitely go back again. 5 Stars!

Just the most amazing and comfortable experience! Got a rainbow bridge memorial tattoo and the whole team was so understanding when I cried with emotions (not from pain, I promise!). Dorothy did an amazing job and made me feel so comfortable and relaxed throughout the whole session. So grateful and so satisfied from the very beginning of the process.

Been wanting to finish a sleeve I got started on about two years ago. Where the original artist went A-Wall. Got in touch, with Mark and he told me to get in with him he was able to get me in like 3-4 days. Than Mark absolutely crushed it the best work I have ever had done so far. Don’t worry you go here you’ll be in great hands 10/10 recommend

Dorthy is by far the best! Me and my husband got a tattoo yesterday in memory of our dog that had recently past and she made it very special for us. We will def be clients for life.

I loved going here. Dorothy was my artist and she is just so wonderful. I had three smaller tattoos done and she did such a great job with the line work. Her attitude was excellent and I cannot wait to go back for more work. The shop was clean and had a friendly atmosphere as well. Mark seems like another artist I would like to work with and that is saying something because I do not usually have male tattoo artists. Just a personal preference. He did a phenomenal realism tattoo on a guy while I was there. Maybe I need a collab between the two of them!

Got one of my favorite pictures of my babies (who are now adults) tattooed this weekend. ❤️ Will be having more added around it. Clean and comfortable shop. Very friendly artists. Great job on tattoo! Will be booking again soon!

Doug is a phenomenal tattoo artist. I gave him a vision of what I wanted and he blew it out of the water. All of the folks here have their own talents and the work I have seen from the entire staff is amazing. Thanks Doug for bringing this to life. The music in there rocks too!!!

Dorothy is an amazing artist and a delightful person. I couldnt be happier with the whole experience/final result...I made my next appointment that same day. So happy to have found such a talented local tattooist. The whole shop is clean and welcoming and just has a wonderful vibe.

I met Mark through a friend who had some work done by him previously . From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted and welcomed like family. Mark and Dorthy are not only amazing artists, they are also amazing people. I’ve spent a lot of hours in there and always leave with a smile. Both Mark and Dorthy are super professional and they make you feel at home during every session. Awesome shop, awesome work and awesome people! Blue Heron is hands down the best shop in the area.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Dorothy at Blue Heron. My session with her was great, she has an eye for detail and makes you feel at ease chatting with her. I had a scar that I wanted to cover and she was able to do that seamlessly. I’m already planning my next piece so I can go back and see her again!

This is a really cool shop-clean environment and great staff. Mark the owner was a super cool guy, and Jack, who did a tattoo for me and my wife, did an excellent job and was easy to work with. 10/10 would come back for more work!

Do not hesitate to make an appointment, this is my second tattoo I’ve had done by Mark. I couldn’t imagine getting my work done anywhere else, he brings an unmatched passion to his work. The entire shop has a very good atmosphere. 10/10 would pick this place over anywhere else.

I want to give a huge shout out to Mark!!! I’ve never waited on a waitlist for a tattoo until this and it was the best choice ever! I had a huge mistake from being 16 covering my chest and shoulder and mark not only covered it but listened to everything I wanted offered ideas and incorporated it flawlessly! So long story short not only do I have one more session to go but I have an entire sleeve of super realistic looking jungle cats! Will be coming back and 1000/10 would recommend! As far as the shop everyone there is friendly Dorothy and Fez were super nice and I can’t say enough good about this experience!

Dorothy and Mark are some of the most humble and hard-working professionals in the business. They truly pour their heart and soul into their work, which is evident in their loyal client base. I have been going to Mark for years. He has done my entire sleeve. Once this one is finished, its off to the next one. Mark is always professional and always treats his customers with respect. The shop has an awesome vibe to it. Dorothy did a tattoo on my ankle and I coundt be more happy with how it turned out. I love the shop and the people who run it. Went in with my daughter for her first tattoo and my umpteenth. Mark did a great job making her feel comfortable. Very professional, clean and inviting. He did an amazing job and was good for some belly laughs too. Definitely will be going back. A great addition to our lil town.

The price was extremely high, and the quality of my tattoo was not good. When contacted their only reply was that was a in-house minimum price. That is not what I was told previously I definitely would not recommend there.

I cant say enough about this place . I got a tattoo a month ago in Martinsburg and the work was very disappointing. Mark had to do the entire tattoo over againand did an amazing job . Thank you Mark .

These guys deserve thousands of 5 star ratings but I guess since they changed locations they lost some. Ive had 2 lengthy sessions here and the quality is awesome so far and youll feel at home while theyre working on you. Go see them for all your ink needs!
