American Pride Tattoos Clarkston

I am thirteen years old and I was VERY anxious about getting my ears pierced today. I had a great experience, much better than a girl at Claires with a piercing gun for sure. I had Wayne. He showed me where he was going to pierce and asked if the placement was good, which was very nice. He explained how it would feel and it ended up barely hurting at all. Just a quick pinch like he said. Afterwards, I felt extremely sick and ended up hurling. All the staff there was very sweet and explained to me that it is EXTREMELY normal because of nerves and lowering blood sugar. They got me a trash can, paper towels, and helped me through the whole thing. Although I havent even had a full day with the piercings, the experience was wonderful.

Got my naval pierced here today, everyone was super friendly and amazing. The vibe in there was very welcoming, I will definitely be going back.

This place is actually the worst. The guy who owns this place basically demanded I take down my bad review and was extremely rude and condescending. Their work is also subpar for piercings and tattoos. Piercing with externally threaded jewelry in this day and age? Be for real. I’m surprised this place is still in business

Koty is an amazing piercer and tattoo artist. He does a fantastic job and has done all of my piercings. Ive gotten 13 piercings done here with no problems. The apprentice Lexi is super friendly and knowledgeable. I really enjoy coming here for all of my tattoos and piercings.I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for professional work. Just ask for Koty. 👍🏻

So beyond happy with the piece I got done by Dominick. He was able to tattoo my aunts handwriting and it came out so beautiful! All of the lines are so clean and sharp. These words have so much meaning to me and Dominick not only did an amazing job but helped me connect forever with my aunt who passed away.

Where do I even begin?I came here to get an arm band done on my right arm. I wanted to cover up a wave tattoo I had previously gotten. The artists were really accommodating and helpful. I scheduled my appointment. Got my tattoo done and scheduled a touch up session.I thought everything went well but my arm was too swollen for me to notice anything. Over the next few weeks, as the swelling went down and my arm started to heal, I realized what a horrible job Dre did.1. My arm band was not straight. I know these tattoos are incredibly hard to do, but when your arm is relaxed and straight, it’s meant to give the illusion that it looks straight. It dropped down from the back.2. It was thicker in some places. The back was a lot thicker and even had a pointy end. It very much looked like he messed the lines up and then had to connect them.3. The line work was horrible! The lines didn’t even connect, were wobbly, were thinner in some places.4. The worst part of all of this is that Dre butchered my skin. During the healing process, I noticed that there were several places where blood and sticky black green gunk would come out for days. This is my seventh tattoo - so I know how to properly take care of a tattoo after I’ve gotten one done. THERE WERE SEVERAL OPEN CUTS ON MY ARM. It took these open cuts about three months to heal. And now I have permanent scarring on my arm from them.I recently got the tattoo covered up. My new tattoo artist was shocked to learn that this was a tattoo I had “professionally” done - he thought it was done in someone’s home. I still have the scars of my old tattoo show right through my cover up.Do not come here. Do not make the same mistake I did.The white “lines” in the photo are the cuts after they’ve healed. These photos were taken around 3 months after I got my tattoo.

My piercing experience here was not the best. I did not feel like the piercer listened to what I was saying as I had a previous piercing in a nearby location. The experience felt very let’s get this done and over with.In my past piercings, the needle was the worst part. This time, even after the needle was through, it felt like something was being dug around inside.To top this all off - the piercing got infected despite not sleeping on it, keeping it dry and clean, using sterile saline to clean it, etc. Could be me, but it’s the first time in 32 years I’ve had a new piercing get infected like this.

American pride tattoo is the only place I get inked. Jennifer and Andre are talented and detailed in their design. No better place to go, many locations

Had Kyle, he is amazing- his tattoos are very detailed! They came out beautiful, I would recommend him, also the shop is very clean, and everyone there is so welcoming

Nice and clean shop. Gave detailed instructions about aftercare which is very important with piercings. Will come back for other piercings.Update: I don’t think this is the piercers or businesses fault but I had an allergy to something in the spray I was sold to heal my earrings and had to take them out. A little disappointed as I spent a lot of money on them and I haven’t had this occur with other piercings or sprays. It may be a more uncommon allergy but I wish I was warned beforehand.

Havent been back here since my old tattoo artist moved shops. Its been 2 years or more since Ive been tattooed here and this shop has called me 6 times since 11/30/23 (todays date 12/20/23). They have left the same voicemail every time, basically begging for business. Ella needs to stop calling. Ive told them to stop calling me and blocked their number but for some reason Im still receiving their voicemails. You have to be desperate to continue contacting someone who has told you to stop. This shop hires unprofessional artists. I see why my old artist left.

Great experience! Wayne is quiet but nice and very skilled. Price was appropriate for the work I had done. Making an appt was easy with a small deposit that is applied towards the work. A+ Highly Recommended.

Make sure you visit Koty! He pierced my daith a year ago and I recently got these awesome tattoos by him. Hes friendly and made changes to my tattoos without trying to argue why I shouldnt do what I was asking for. Im working with him on designing some more tattoos and getting to work with him is great!

After spending several years looking for someone to do my very first tattoo, I’m so happy I found Andre at American Pride in Clarkston. After Andre doing my first tattoo; he has now done all 21 of my tattoos and all of my piercings. The atmosphere in the shop is amazing; fun, upbeat, happy. The shop itself is spotless and extremely clean. When you walk in you feel comfortable immediately and it makes all the nerves go away. All of the staff is always more than willing to help find the right jewelry for existing piercings, answer any and all questions someone may have, and help any way possible. All of the artists listen to their clients regarding their client’s ideas and visions for the tattoos and do everything they can possible to make the clients visions come to life. When tattooing there’s always great conversation, communication, and the artists always make sure their clients are comfortable. When getting pierced, the artists know how to keep their clients calm, take their nervousness away, and relax them so the piercing is quick! I highly recommend this shop and everyone in it! Each artist is amazing and does fantastic work!

Went in for a matching tattoo session with my girls from out of state; Dedrick, Doug, and Andre were our artists; just want to say thank you for one of the best nights in forever! Super friendly to chill and vibe with while getting tatted, great music, and the girl at the front(sorry so many names) was so friendly and funny to talk to while we were waiting!! The line work we had done is phenomenal and the artists were light handed, and quick but thorough!! Cant wait to come back for my cover up soon!!!! ^-^

A few friends and I did a walk in session the other day. It was my first tattoo and it was a great experience! They accommodated us even though it was on short notice. The artist (we had Dedrick) was super receptive and made sure the design was perfect for me. I didnt have a reference picture so I was really impressed. He was quick and made me feel really comfortable even though I was nervous. The other staff was also very helpful and fun to be around. Overall, I would recommend this place. My tattoo was on my wrist, and was a line drawing in black.

Such a great place, me and my friend both got walk-in tattoos with Wayne and they both turned out great!! Wayne is so fun and talented, and the receptionist Lexi was such a joy. Amazing service and great environment, will be coming again

I’m only giving 4 stars because I haven’t gotten a tattoo from them yet BUT I got my septum done (I think the piercers name was Chelsea but I’m not sure) and she did an awesome job. The placements great and it was super fast, me and my girlfriend both got piercings and we weren’t there for more than 15 minutes. She did everything perfectly 👍🏻If I end up getting ink here I’ll update my review

Very disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly but Dre did a horrible job with my tattoos. I let him do a decent amount of tattoos on me before I moved and they all were so overpriced but I didn’t know how overpriced they were until I went to another place. He started my sleeve and the line work and even shading was just awful and uneven, I went to another artist to finish up my sleeve and she tried to fix it. He even did a sternum tattoo on me which he messed up the lines and when I pointed it out he said it is because I moved too much even when I wasn’t moving. He also tattooed my sisters birthday on me with her handwriting, I know it’s hard to replicate it exactly but I had another artist do the same thing for my dads handwriting and it was basically perfect but Dre rushed while doing my tattoo and it looks like I did it myself. I’m upset that I’ll have to get them covered up/fixed or just let it be on my body for the rest of my life. Don’t waste your time and money here and go somewhere else.

I recently went to get two tattoos, and these guys were amazing! The shop was clean, and the atmosphere was perfect. Dedrick did a great job. Im not good with needles, but he made me feel completely comfortable, had a great sense of humor, and is very skilled in his profession! I highly recommend these guys for anyone considering new ink.

Amazing staff. So friendly. Andre has done my three (soon to be 4) tattoos and my Daith piercing. Pricing is great and everything is very professional and clean. So happy I chose to go here!

Amazing experience. Walked in at open(11), showed them a pic which they made a stencil of while I shopped and walked out around 12:30 with an amazing tattoo. I came in really nervous about a rushed, faded or shabby job but Andre was great and easy to chat with. Made sure I was happy with it every step of the way.

Went in with my friend to get her tattto touched up, wonderful people. Found myself in there again to get my rook piercing changed from a hoop to a bar. I got it pierced about 1 1/2 weeks ago from a different place and they put in the wrong jewelry which was causing a lot of pain. They helped me change it out quickly and for a good price. I recommend going here for tattoos, piercings, and other needs. You wont be disappointed.

I was trying to get a piercing and I’m glad that I didn’t do it in this studio. The workers have Vaped and seemed to be very confused. They dropped things, forgot everything AND the piercer didn’t even changed gloves! A sign in that studio says you have to be 18 to get a piercing, but they pierced my 16-year-old friend.Nope…NEVER!

People there were very nice but I dont think they really know what they are doing when it comes to piercings. Dont remember the guys name who did it but before he pierced me, he kept telling me over and over that it was going to be quick painless and easy. (I knew it wasnt going to be painless because no piercing really is) but it took him a good 5-7 minutes just to get the piercing in! Granted it was in a difficult spot (tongue webbing) Once he finally got it in, I looked down and the needle he used to pierce me with was laying down next to me on the chair... Anyways so I left the store and not even 20 minutes later the ball fell off to the end of the piercing.. so I had to drive all the way back up there for him to put it back on. Like I said, nice people but definitely wont be going back for a piercing.

My 2.5 year old daughter just got her ears pierced by Andre and it was a great experience. She felt very comfortable with him and listened to each instruction. She wasnt intimidated by him at all...just the chair. The whole staff cheered her on and she left there so excited to show everyone her new pretties. I would recommend them to anyone!

If you want work done, this is the place to go. Andres artistic abilities are remarkable. The ideas that come from his mind are unique and well thought out. Out of the whole sleeve Ive gotten done by him, weve only planned one of the tattoos in it. I trusted him with the rest and received nothing but satisfaction. I have a torn bicep, so he came up with the gnarly idea of tattooing exposed muscle over it. Genius. It looks realistic enough, that Ive had people ask me if I was bleeding.If you want a unique experience with great work and conversation, then again, this is the place to go.

I wanted a tat of Judah’s Lion and I brought in some examples that were close to what I wanted. I left the rest up to Dedrick and am so glad I did. His artwork is outstanding and his design was EXACTLY what I had in mind. I am super happy with this tat and will be going back for my final tat here pretty quick. I waited until I was 40 before getting my first Marine Corps tat and I’m very glad I did. Back in the ‘70s when all my buddies in the Corps were getting theirs, I thought, “I’ll wait.” And the technology has paid off. 22 years later and my original Marine tat still looks good and now the Lion above it looks great! I have my Family Crest on my left shoulder and I’ll go back to Dedrick for an American Battle Flag below that one. Gonna be really cool because my tats will represent my beliefs: God, Country, Corps and Family. Wish I could’ve posted pics but there was no allowance for it on my IPad.

I was very happy with this place. During my visit I was getting my very first tattoo so I was quite anxious. The guy who did my tattoo made me feel safe and comfortable. The environment was wonderful and playful and the guys working were super cool. I cant wait to get another tattoo now!

Me and some other family members have gotten piercings from here. they’re pretty good besides the fact that they can never manage to call us back lol. it’s not just a one time thing, but almost every time we call whether to make an appointment or ask a question they say the piercer is busy and he will call us back.... and then he never calls lmao.

On Friday the 13th, I went in and had a piercing done by Andre at your Clarkston location. He is professional, quick, and eased any concerns i had about the piercing. He always does good work and takes pride in his profession. Hes done my Tattoos and now my piercings. No need to go to any one else. I highly recommend him to all my friends and family. Very friendly atmosphere but my tattoos from Andre healed terribly. Blown out lines, bad shading, scar tissue on my chest. Very heavy handed. All looked good when fresh but my year old tattoos look worn and in need of a extensive touch ups/reworks

I just got my tongue pierced a couple days ago and it was terrifying but everyone was so sweet and helped me not be as scared. super clean shop and amazing people there. i definitely recommend coming here and i will be coming back for another piercing or tattoo😊

Andre did my daith peircing and did an amazing job and even gave me his milk duds when I got done (so I didn’t pass out). Shelly at the front desk was very informative on how to clean the piercing. Shelly and Andre are very nice and great at what they do. I’m in love with my new peircing and will definitely go back here for the next one

Andre pierced mine and my daughter’s (9 y.o.) ear lobes today. He was great with her! He really put her at ease and made sure we knew what was happening and everything regarding the after care. Highly recommended!

Very nice shop. Clean and friendly. I had my industrial piercing done here. I havent had anything except regular ear piercings and they led me through everything and explained it all. It was quick and easy.

Not even a day after I noticed a whole bunch messed up. Some parts are barely there on the date, the lines look Scribbled, and now once this is healed I have to go to a different shop and pay for them to save it. Will never make this mistake again. Now at day 10 half the death date is barley there.

I’ve had 16 piercings and only had to take 4 out due to issues, ALL 4 were done by the piercer at this location. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR if you want a piercing go to the American pride in oxford and ask for cat and garenteed you’ll have much better results at the same price and convenience

Sat for hours while they tried to draw up what me and my wife wanted hand and foot prints of our son that passed both the artists didnt know how to do letters doing everything off of a iPad very incompetent acted like they knew nothing and for the two guys saying they had 7 and 8 year experience my other son who is three can draw up something better then that
