Capital Skin Medical Spa

I visited Dr. Purcell on 2/14 to address a few issues. The appointment was at 2:15, and I arrived at 2:00, and filled out the required paperwork. I was seen at around 3:00 p.m., which was not a problem for me, personally. The office was very busy. I discussed my issues and concerns directly with Dr. Purcell, and he assessed and addressed each one confidently and competently. I was referred to a plastic surgeon for one of the areas of concern, as it was diagnosed as basal cell skin cancer.Dr. Purcell is very thorough, and he explains everything, and answers questions. His staff is also very knowledgeable and congenial.I would highly recommend this practice.

Super knowledgeable about health and nutrition in general! Dr. Purcell is great. He will explain anything and would recommend him to anyone.

Parking lot was completely full when I arrived; no parking spaces available. When I entered building, stairs to get to any offices! I use a cane & stairs are difficult. There is an elevator, but you need to call to use it. When I got to the office, there was no one at the desk. After I checked in, many people in waiting room & it was 30-40 minutes past my appt time before I was called. Once I was, the people were kind & professional, but it was too little, too late. I will not go there again.

I had a procedure done and needed to go back for some issues. I called over 5 times and left massages. I have never received any calls back. No following up at all.

First visit there, I saw McKenzie, she noticed something that was a bit too much for the office to take care of. She made her recommendation, carefully wrote down everything she saw and recommended a specialist. I expected to hear from specialist in a couple weeks. 22 hours later I have an appointment! I would highly recommend visiting there facility.

Allie is very knowledge and gave me great advice for my skin care, she is very sweet and professional. This was the best facial I have ever had along with having the Dermaplanning for the first time. I was extremely amazed how much hydration and glow this gave my skin after the treatment. I will definitely be back for more!

I wish to thank Tracy Rapant for the excellent foot care I have received for the many years I have been her client. She has special training as a medical pedicurist and does a wonderful job keeping my feet healthy. She is very knowledgeable and truly cares about your well being. I have been a customer at capital skin for years. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Tracy and Allie are the best at what they do.

Everyone was very friendly and professional. The only small suggestion is that the young lady checking people in should talk directly to the customer, most seniors cant hear as well as they use too and someone with a high voice talking down to paperwork is difficult to understand. She was very friendly and my hope is that she takes this suggestion in the manner it is giving.

I started using Capital Skin for medical dermatology at the recommendation of another person. The staff is pleasant and professional. Appointments are easily obtained in a reasonable time. The medical dermatology staff are very thorough and explain everything they are doing. I am very comfortable using this practice.

I went to Capital Skin to have mole-type items checked out for skin cancer. The nurse practioner who examined me was excellent. She did a thorough exam and treated a couple of things with liquid nitrogen that she thought needed attention. She explained what she was doing, all the time in a pleasant and professional way. This office would be the first to come to mind if I had similar concerns in the future.

I highly do NOT recommend this place for lip fillers. I had the absolute worst experience ever, from the first appointment to the last one. During my first appointment, while I was sitting in the patient treatment room (with numbing ointment on my lips) right next to the receptionist room, the nurse was talking about me on the other side of the wall. She spoke how I was very nervous, etc to another employee. During the treatment, the doctor asked the nurse “Should I give her a little pout?” literally while having a needle in his hand. This was the most unprofessional place and experience I have ever had. My lips still remain uneven and now they refuse to even dissolve them and fix their own mistakes.

Years ago, I went to the Capitol Skin Spa for facials, laser treatments, manicures etc. and always found it warm and inviting. The clinicians were excellent...welcoming, friendly, and very accommodating. When I had any type of procedure, it was explained in full, and afterwards, I would usually receive a follow up call to see how I tolerated it, and ask my opinion of the outcome.I cannot find any fault with my most recent experience, but it was definitely lacking in that personal touch which made my previous experiences so special.

I had a dark spot on my back that was giving me concern. The doctor came in and took one look and immediately put my mind at ease and performed a treatment. He told me what to expect and no need to come back. Most doctors would have me coming back for checkups forever. Find a cure lose a patient but this doctor is not like that at all. Its been awhile since I came in and this time I had a great practitioner, Mackenzie and her assistant. Checked me head to toe for any signs of melanoma and I had none but lots of skin tags I asked to be removed, so they shot them with something really cold and hopefully theyll all go away :)

Capital Skin Med Spa of Clifton Park. I called to schedule an oxygen facial and when I arrived I asked to purchase a package of six facials. Facial was enjoyable, Jade was professional. When I made my next appointment, Jade was not so warm. Third appointment the receptionist could not find an appointment with Jade that coordinated with my schedule so she scheduled me with Allie. I didn’t care, no one sold me the package as I asked to purchase it but when I returned for my facial with Allie, Jade was at the front desk, she was very unprofessional and not nice, giving me nasty looks like a toddler who didn’t get their way. She asked if I meant to schedule with Allie and I explained I didn’t care who I was scheduled to see. I felt terrible for Allie, Jade made us both feel as we did something wrong. My fourth facial appointment was supposed to be with Allie but the girl who scheduled me put me in for another day than what she told me. After that, I hand wrote Dr. Purcell a four page letter explaining my dissatisfaction with Jade and the front desk, never heard from him - it has been four months. I spent almost $900.00 on this package that I won’t use half of. Beware before sinking a lot of money in to services if you’ve never been. Allie was awesome but that’s the most positive thing I can share. Lesson learned!

I went in thinking I would get the area at the corner of my lips “fixed”. I called them my jowls. After speaking with Dr. Purcell and understanding the different procedures and what would work best I decided to take his advice. I had a little filler put in my cheeks, which would lift the area I was concerned with. I had filler put in my smile lines from the corner of my mouth to my nose. OMG!! I fell in love with my new but very subtle look!!! I feel and look years younger. I ended up going back to have my upper lip filled slightly so it was more in line with my much fuller bottom lip. Who knew we lose lip volume as we age?? While there I also had a fine line on my forehead taken care of along with some other fine lines that bothered me. I cannot tell you enough how this has brought my confidence back! I look in the mirror and I am amazed at how much younger I look. I even feel younger. I love the “pout” my lips even seem to have now. The prices are fair and the procedures last long enough to make it worth the money. Give Dr. Purcell a call, I promise you will not regret it! Tell him I sent you.

I had the Lumi Lash Lift done by Jade and I absolutely love it! My lashes look so natural and nicely curled as opposed to lash extensions. There is really no up keeping other than brushing them out so it is super simple and not having to wear mascara is amazing. Jade takes her time and is very gentle, there is nothing to be scared about with this procedure. My results are getting lots of compliments- I am so happy! Thank you Jade!!

The past two times Ive been seen by the Nurse Practitioner & Im very pleased with her. As a matter of fact, the first time I saw her was for the same thing for which I had previously been seen 2 or 3 times by Dr. Purcell. None of those visits successfully remedied my problem. The Nurse Practitioner took care of it on that first visit & so far it hasnt returned.

Went in 2018 & July 2021 for Keratosis on my body. Dr Purcell Sr is friendly & knowledgeable. So is McKenzie. In 2018, Dr Purcell did a perfect freeze on the spots.Left no scars. I trust this business & the people there.

I love Capital Skin! I’ve been coming here for chemical peels to help my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and WOW! What a difference. I wish Google would let me post before and after pictures, but I can assure you that this place is incredible. Not only are the services here worth every penny, but the staff is amazing. Alexandra has been personally taking care of my skin and she so helpful and attentive. The atmosphere here is just frickin lovely too. They play soothing music while your services are performed and the whole place smells like you’re in a lemon tree. My God, it’s more tranquil then what I can only imagine heaven would be like. 10/10, Gold Star, would highly recommend.

Unfortunately went for a pointless appt. I wish they would have recommended an allergist for hives prior to me coming in. Now it will just be a waste of money and time. I also stated on the phone that occasional hives was my son’s issue but they still scheduled me. All they really said was to buy some Claritin……

I had s terrible experience at Capital Skin. Dr. Purcell ( I use title Dr. with great hesitation.) performed co2 lazer on my neck and chest and the procedure was suppose to lessen wrinkles and improve texture. My neck and chest look worse after procedure. No change in texture and wrinkles are worse. The procedure left permanent grid marks on my neck from the co2 machine.I am currently going to a plastic surgeon to try and reverse what he did to my neck. The plastic surgeon said that co2 lazer is too strong for the neck area. I explained to Dr. Purcell after allowing 6 months of recovery that I was extremely dissatisfied and asked for a partial refund. He said he would think about it and call me. He didn’t call so I called numerous times and left messages with his office staff and never received a call back from him. What I found interesting is he took a picture before the procedure but didn’t take one after. If he thought procedure was successful I’m sure he would have taken an after picture. It’s important to note that I had been a customer of the spa for many years getting facials and peels however that didn’t seem to matter to him. I strongly suggest to anyone thinking about going to Purcell to find another Dr.

I had a great experience at capital skin ! Dr Purcell and his staff where very friendly and helpful . I had gotten the Co2 Fractional lazor for my severe acne scars , within one week I am already seeing results. My skin looks smoother and my scars have faded . I would highly recommend this dermatology office to family and friends! Also the pricing is very reasonable.

We have been going to capital skin for 2 years. Dr. McKenzie is great to work with. She gets my teenage kids.

I scheduled an appt for a consultation for freckle removal. After arrival, i waited almost half hour to been seen. There was noone else there besides me. The wait wasnt the issue. After taking my pictures, i waited to see the doctor. As soon as he walked in, just glancing at me, immediately stated, he doesnt think he can do the treatment because of the color of my skin. I was in shock because im not dark skinned. He asked what my ethnicity was, after explaining that i am not usually this tan, he decided to talk to me about how long he has been in practice for and how get got into the field. He also discussed his current girlfriend and how she is darker than me. He went on to explain that he is working on a tattoo removal and she is using a fading cream and suggested i try it prior to rescheduling in the beginning of winter. This was offered after multiple attempts trying to convince him to try. I asked how much was the procedure several times and he wouldnt answer (maybe he thought, i couldnt afford it) . He never answered. He continued with his heritage and talked about how everyone in his family was Doctors. When asked again, he said if he was willing to try he would have to try a small spot and remove each freckle individually. To end the session as i wasnt getting no where and trying to remain composed, being i felt i was being discriminated. i asked about the cream. He would not give me the name and stated the nurses would know. I went to the front desk and asked, they had no idea what cream he was talking about. They handed me an over the counter list. I advised the doctor didnt say it was an over the counter product plus he didnt say i needed a regimen of products, just the cream. Not once did they mention getting a hold of the doctor until i requested for them to do so. Immediately they stated he left for the day right after seeing me. They took my number and were going to text the doctor and get back to me. I asked about rescheduling for beginning of winter and was told yea we can reschedule BUT you have a lot of time to do. I said ok, i will schedule when you guys call me back. My appointment was on Monday 8/19. I called Wednesday 8/21, as i have not heard anything and was told Abbywas with a patient and will be calling me back shortly. I never received a call. I am taking it as if they didnt want my business and writing this review because i feel noone should be treated the way i was. A persons appearance shouldnt determine whether they should get treated or be treated different than any other human being. As far as affording the treatment, i have no financial difficulties and definitely could of paid for it right at that moment if he was willing. I have very thick skin so dont usually take things personal and this is the 1st review i have ever given to any company. Very disappointed how i felt i was treated and never have i experienced this sort of treatment my 38 years of living.

I love Capital Skin! Its location in Clifton park is so convenient, a little south of Clifton parks center where the traffic can be hectic.I have gone to 3 lazer hair removal sessions with Jade. She is so sweet and easy to talk to. She cares about my skin and asks me each time if I am on antibiotics or have had recent sun exposure, she doesnt just assume I have thought of those issues myself. The room is comfortable, private and clean. I am in and out in 10-15 minutes each time. My consultation and first session were combined in my first appointment which I appreciated so much. The best part is, unlike many lazer hair removal locations, Capital Skin charges by the session! No need to take out a loan or work out a payment plan for 8 sessions and 10 months of planning.If youre interested in lazer hair removal, GO SEE JADE AT CAPITAL SKIN!!!

I felt compelled to write a review after my wonderful experience at Capital Skin. I have terrible rosacea, Ive been using meds and creams all my life. I decided to try the laser and I loved it. Dr. Purcell JR. and his staff were professional and extremely friendly. I love the results and I definitely plan to go back.

Dr. Purcell is great and so is the nurse practitioner. Ive been getting warts treated and removed for years. They are always on time and take great care of me.

I went to Capital Skin last month and had the ABSOLUTE BEST FACIAL from a very professional and experienced young lady named Allie, If you want a professional facial this is the place you want to visit . Allie also gives you a neck and arm massage better than most trained massage therapists. The spa is spotless and very relaxing ..

Had laser surgery Jan 4,2012,,,was the worst experience of my life,,ended up in the ER that nite,,both eyes were damaged and had to cover them up for 24hrs. I now have to be careful with my eyes.... Dr. Purcell only saw me once since then,,felt like he didnt care what had happened to me,,,the ladies that work there have been awesome to me,,,,Its been 10 months and people do not see a change... It is with regret that the procedure did not work for me and Dr.Purcell was very kind to give me a full refund.

I waited a while to write this review and after months of debating I thought it was only necessary to share my experience. I am a fit, active, young female but my lower stomach was never as flat as I wanted. I decided to give coolsculpting a try and now it has RUINED my stomach, the skin on my stomach has dimples and it never flattened my stomach at all in fact now it looks even fatter and more puffy.I completely regret this. I even hired a personal trainer for 5 months after coolsculpting in hopes of regaining the stomach I once had and after months of strict dieting and exercise (keep in mind I already live/eat healthy) it did nothing for my stomach. I spent over $1000 on my coolsculpting done by Alex. After explaining how disappointted and upset I am that this has changed my stomach I was told “ it could have looked like that before” when I know it did not. Then they told me they could cool sculpt it again for another $1000.. I was in disbelief. Please DO NOT DO THIS. I am 25 and have ruined my stomach. I am not leaving my real name because I would like to be annonomous. I hope this helps the next 20 something year old woman who is too hard on herself like I was.Also before I decided to get coolsculpting I got lip injections by Dr.Purcell and he messed them up, there were lumps in my lips and one side had more filler than the other. Thankfully I was able to get them fixed at another plastic surgery office.

I am pretty panic stricken about my skin and careful to be sure I do not get skin cancer! MacKenzie always listens to my concerns gives me answers and takes me very seriously!

I have never looked better!After having 2 full face and 2 eye treatments using the CO2 fractional laser, my skin looks and feels fantastic. My dark circles have completely disappeared, my skin has a youthful glow, I barely have any wrinkles and my pigmentation is even and clear.Dr. Purcell and his staff were caring and highly professional. I was comfortable throughout the entire process and given clear and through after care instructions. Down time was 3-4 days after which I could wear make up and return to my normal skin care regime, and my skin started its amazing transformation over the next couple of months.I have recommended this procedure to many friends, family and co-workers who have been amazed by my own results.
