My mom and I stopped in today after making an appointment earlier this week with Aaron. He was really gentle and sweet and offered to get us water or let us take breaks during our tattoos several times. I wanted a hummingbird with fine lines. I was nervous because I’ve seen some bad attempts at fine line tattoos, but after seeing Aaron’s work on his Instagram, and him saying he was comfortable with the design, I felt good about it.It turned out great! I would definitely recommend Aaron for this kind of work, and you can see on his Instagram that he does lots of other kinds of designs as well. I’m so excited to have finally gotten this tattoo after thinking about for over a year. I will likely go to him for other tattoos in the future! I added photos of the design I wanted and the finished tattoo on my forearm.

Cool place with cool art on the walls, super chill environment. Jesse was easily the most thoughtful tattoo artist Ive ever been to, in terms of the tattoo, and just being chill, and considerate. ABSOLUTELY recommend this place. Made me happy to look at my arm again.

Tay was the absolute SWEETEST. She was incredibly kind and patient with my soon to be 10 year old son who was very nervous to get his ears pierced. Thank you so much girl! It’s gonna be mommas turn for some piercings next lol. Would recommend to anyone wanting a piercings. Thank yall for a great overall experience.

You might be interested to know that a scammer is using the name of your store to spam text messages about a tattoo consultation. i looked up the name of the store to see if it was even real and found you. the phone number they texted from does not match the number listed on your website.

First time getting a tattoo AND my nose pierced! All in one day. It was smooth & everyone was great. Especially with explaining the aftercare. I did go back to switch piercings a couple days after. First 2 was the 1st time & last pic was the switch. Tay was so cool about me changing it. Aaron did my tattoo & he was sooo awesome! Gave me opportunities to take a break if i needed since it was my 1st. I stuck thru it lol didnt really hurt that much.I will definitely be going back!

The shop is very clean! Thats always my number one. The front desk person was helpful and really nice. Kat gave me a beautiful tattoo. They understood my design idea and did a really good job bringing it to life. Ive had this tattoo for about 9 months. It has healed really well and i have recommended this place to many friends since.

I got pierced here about 2.5 years ago and when I recently decided to get another, I went right back to this place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the piercer is quick and professional. I had to make an appointment this time around, which wasn’t a problem at all. In fact, I found it made the process run even more smoothly.I’ve never been tattooed here but all the artists have their own private rooms… which is something I love when I do get tattooed. You aren’t open for everyone to see, which makes it more comfortable.My only negative about getting pierced here is that I’ve never had a choice of jewelry but the pieces I did get were standard so it’s not an issue to keep them until my piercing is ready to be changed.I highly recommend this shop for a professional experience!

Jess is the best tattoo artist in the midsouth. She is patient and very understanding, and her work is some of the best I have EVER seen. You can always know you will leave with exactly what you came for. She has done 2 on me, and I am already planning a 3rd.

I was finally inked with my very first tattoo and I couldnt be more pleased with my experience at this place. The place was very nice and clean. My artist, Kat, was super sweet. Her demeanor was so pleasant that it definitely put me at ease because I was little nervous. I love the final result! Had an awesome experience here! This little tattoo shop is definitely a well kept secret in Memphis. I got my tragus, second lobes, and navel pierced by Tay and she was very professional and quick. She talked me through the process and explained everything, which helped calm my nerves. I will definitely be back in the future. :)

I was really excited to go to The Rook x Raven for my piercings after reading great reviews, but was disappointed in the customer service. I got both my belly button and nose pierced last week. I was nervous and extremely talkative (because of my nerves) and I felt like I was bothering the piercer with my chatting. She didnt offer much relief for my nerves. As she was getting ready to pierce my belly button I noticed she had already had a pink belly button ring out on the table. I dont like the color pink. I asked her if I could have another color and my question seemed to bother her. She hesitated and didnt give me an answer so I just told her if it was an inconvenience then the pink jewelry piece would be fine. Im now sporting a pink piercing for weeks/months that I dont really love. The instructions/directions on the sheet of paper they gave me were not clear. I had to call and ask about high-waisted pants, working out and the process of cleaning. However, the piercer was quick to do both my nose and belly button, which helped the process go quickly and smoothly. She was also kind enough to take a picture of both before I left. As I was leaving, no one asked me if I liked the piercings or if I needed anything else. I work in customer service and know the importance of making a customer feel comfortable. I was disappointed in my experience at this shop.

The whole tattoo process is made incredibly easy. The shop environment is amazing and my art , Kat, is just stellar! 100/10

I received my nose piercing here, & she did an amazing job😍😊👍. Very fast & quick & answered all of my questions. She also placed it in the perfect spot that I asked it to be! My healing did take 12 weeks, but it healed beautifully with salt water & tea tree oil. I am thinking of going back for my septum piercing. The atmosphere is nice, quiet & clean. The location is in a nice shopping center, but it can be a bit of a drive, depending on where you live.

Had my first tattoo done today and Jesse hooked me up! Looked all over the Memphis area for someone to start what will become a sleeve, and Rook x Raven was the most impressive. All the staff is friendly and approachable. These people dont just want your business, they want to be a part of your art. Love my piece and I look forward to adding to it

I have gotten two tattoos - one from Jesse and one from Kat - and two piercings from Tay here. Every experience I’ve had I have enjoyed! Everyone I’ve interacted with is very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. The tattoos I’ve gotten are my favorite, and I love my piercings. They’re just awesome overall!

Rook x Raven is easily the best tattoo parlor you could go to in Memphis. I’ve been tattooed by Jesse, had a half day session with Kat and a full day session with Ian all within the last 3 months. They always find ways to take my ideas and make them even better than I imagined whilst making sure my original idea is still there. They take their time and it always shows in the final product. They’re always so friendly too and it helps to calm nerves a whole lot. I’ve also been pierced by Tay several times and the piercings always heal the way they should. Madison is also a great shop manager, extremely polite and friendly and makes me feel welcome whenever I come in.I can’t recommend Rook x Raven enough, it’s a wonderful shop with great artists who have the talent and personality to back it up.

The shop was amazing! Jesse was great and made me feel very comfortable during my tattoo. They made time for my friend and I to come in short notice and gave incredible service. Would definitely recommend for anyone getting a tattoo in the Memphis area.

I had a great experience here! Reggie did a great Job with my Tattoo! He took his time to make sure all the details I wanted were exact! Not 100% sure what the piercers name is but she was great as well! From my piercing to my tattoo experience was fantastic! It’s a clean and sanitary place that I would recommend all my family and friends too!

I came here with a friend while visiting from Pennsylvania. We chose this establishment based on reviews and were not disappointed! We met with Jessie one day and had the work done the next. Jessie is very personable and professional and her work was excellent! I’m very pleased. She was very patient and flexible with the design. I highly recommend her.

Ive gone here a few times and gotten several tattoos done by Kat. The shop is incredibly clean and everyone there was nice and professional. Tattoos are fairly priced. I will be getting all my work done there from now on

I wasn’t sure when I walked through the doors, I thought I had walked into just a coffee shop. Most tattoo shops have art and decor all around screaming that they are a tattoo place. I liked the atmosphere though, it was calm and quiet with a coffee bar available while you were waiting. The staff was polite and friendly, and my artist was very professional. She drew up our tattoo stencils very quickly, and was deeply focused during mine and my fiancée’s session. I had mine done first, and then she asked us to wait in the waiting area while she sanitized everything properly before starting on my finance’s tattoo. Of my now 5 tattoos, this one was the only one that didn’t feel like a sunburn after, and it hasn’t been sore or sensitive. That witch hazel really does make a difference.

Got a tattoo for my birthday by Reggie I was impressed with the service! He was innovative with the art work I wanted a elephant 🐘 and was afraid from previous experiences.He did not disappoint! Clean ,friendly staff, very professional, great music choices and affordable price he worked with my budget. I will definitely be going back.

Jesse did my tattoo. Her work was great and I plan on going to her again to get another tattoo and to add to the one I just got. Gave four stars because its a bunch of young people and as a first time guest, they didnt make me feel welcome. Basically walked past me and conversed among each other while I waited. But other than that, nice shop.

This tattoo shop is professional and clean and the staff are also professional and polite. I think professionalism is lacking in most tattoo shops, so its a pleasant surprise here.They even have a new smoothie/coffee/food bar, which is an added perk. Ian (owner) is a truly talanted artist (who specializes in portraits) but can do damn near any concept. He did a cover up on me and Im extremely pleased with it; I couldnt be happier with the finished work. I also got 2 piercings from Tay. She was thorough and friendly. I highly recommend this place.

I went on Yelps website and bought $150 gift card for $100 to use for tattoo services at Rook x Raven Tattoo Creative. When I called about coming in to get some work done, the staff was super friendly and very professional. I came in on a Sunday discussed with the artist what I was wanting and where I wanted it, she was able to take my idea just from what I told her and she turned it into an even better design than I had visioned it being. She was also very friendly and informative, answering all the questions I asked and carrying on a conversation with me even while working on my piece at the same time. I had a great experience at this shop and my tattoo turned out perfect. Went in this past Saturday for my first tattoo, everyone was very professional . Honestly I recommend you go here for your next tattoo and ask for Daniel. He made my first tattoo experience great. He cares a lot about his customers and he focuses on quality and not quantity meaning that he will take as much time as possible on your tattoo to ensure you receive phenomenal art that will be on your body for the rest of your life and not try to rush it to get to the next customer . Another thing is that he and the other crew members will make sure you feel welcomed because its a family atmosphere at rookxraven. I enjoyed my experience!

This was my first time at Rook x Raven. Ian did my tattoo. He’s extremely gentle and precise. My only complaint is now all my other tattoos look like trash because his work is so phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back!

Went to this shop with a friend who had previously had work done by Daniel who just did my tattoo and I love it! I was so impressed by his skills that I immediately started discussing my next tattoo. I cant wait. Paris at the front was really cool he help come up with ideas and vision for the waiting clients I really love the environment! I would tell anyone to come here!

Me and my boyfriend went in on flash Friday to get tattoos. I went on flash Friday so that I could test out the shop before I made an appointment for my big piece I wanted to get there by a specific artist(not the artist that did this tattoo) but I definitely won’t be going back for that. The piece I got was a small rose on a stem and it was honestly so simple but somehow its still not right. The tattoo artist BARELY shaded the tattoo, there are literal bare spots throughout it and she drew the stencil different from the picture I picked so the tattoo isn’t even the same. I’m highly disappointed I looked for weeks for a good tattoo shop and was surprised when they offered this flash Friday deal but I should’ve known it was too good to be worth it. Wouldn’t recommend for a tattoo even a cheap one but everybody was nice and the shop is designed well if that even matters. I’m definitely going back for my free touch up as soon as I can, hopefully they’ll fix it a little.

Crash did a tattoo on my arm today and I am a huge fan. The guy is great and I can tell he loves his job. Very patient and takes time in his work. He also makes sure to get to know you as a person before starting the piece. All the employees here are easily approachable and I have nothing but good words for the shop. Strongly recommend coming here

From the moment you walk into the door you are greeted. The customer service doesn’t end there either it continues throughout the whole process. The tattoo artist took her time to listen and exchange ideas. I felt like she listened and I did not feel rushed. The day a went for my tattoo everything went smooth and I was more than satisfied with my tattoo. Best experience I had in a tattoo shop and I will definitely be going back.

This place is absolutely fantastic! Knuck (Daniel) is incredible and super creative! Hes a genius (in many respects),and knows a lot about skin and ink! The best atmosphere, the customer service is always great. Original artist and some of the best. Ian has done all of my work and has never once let me down. I get constant compliments everywhere I go about how amazing the art on me looks. Always original art, never gonna copy anyone else’s work.

I have used Jesse twice now and have been very pleased with what she comes up with from the pics I give her. I have had so many compliments when I go out in public on my tattoo. I let everyone know where I went and who I have used. Great prices, great work, very clean place, and nice people who work there.

Terrible. My visit was bad from the start. I was not satisfied at all. The guy at the desk (Pat) screwed my whole appointment up from the start. I clearly stated I wanted Ian Christopher to do my tattoo I wrote down every tattoo and placement and emailed it to them. I came in for the consultation and stated the same info in person booked the appointment with Ian so I thought and came in the next week to find he put me with another guy name Reggie that I didn’t even know who that was. He also wrote all the wrong information down.(reading is fundamental its in the email that was sent) They finally booked me for another appointment with no compensation do to their staffs’ mess up and Ian comes from the back with the stencil of a tattoo that I didn’t ask for. He got an attitude and didn’t want to change and started acting like a little BOY and sent the two women in there to talk to me. I explained to the ladies that the drawing in the stencil is not what’s wrote down on the paper that I emailed to them. I asked to talk to Ian to have a conversation with him about the situation like 2 men and he never came from the back after I asked to speak with him I couldn’t understand that at all. You have to learn when to grow up man considering your incompetent employee screwed up from the start. I wouldn’t recommend anyone who doesn’t know him personally to choose the rook and raven for a tattoo the service is beyond poor.

Tay did a great job piercing my ears! She did double helixes on both sides for me and they came out super even and evenly spaced on both sides. I highly recommend and would go again! :)

I love the whole team!!!! Everybody is professional and super friendly. The atmosphere as a whole is AMAZING! Reggie is my tattoo artist, who of which I’m highly satisfied with, but I’m positive ALL of the artist are capable of delivering the ideas customers come in with!

I got my nipples pierced here just over a week ago. Atmosphere is great. Place is clean and sterile. Taylor even made me and my friend feel better about the pain by telling us some of her stories. Shes experienced, precise, down to Earth, and very unjudgemental, which are very important qualities to have as a piercer.

I went to the shop for a small yet very meaningful tattoo behind my ear. (this is my first tattoo ever) not only was the staff very welcoming, but also very calming and relaxing. I wasnt as nervous as I thought I would have been. jesse was a absolute angel. truly the best. the tattoo came out amazing and im in love with it. definitely will be going back for more. already excited at the thought for future work with jesse again!!!

Got a Daith piercing here during their Thursday piercing special hours. My best friend came too & they were unable to do hers. It was a bummer but not on them. We certainly respect someone opting out of piercing a client due to ear shape.The place we went prior said no and then yes when we asked if they did daith.We still drove over and asked about their prior experience with this type of piercing. Turned out they didnt even have the proper tool needed to pierce this part of the ear.I do think that place wouldve tried to fake their way through it if we had gone with that flow. That would have sucked.So yea...thank you for NOT doing it on my friend! Lol.I usually dont frequent tattoo parlors unless I am in there to get something very specific done. I would probably have a LOT more tattoos & maybe piercings if it werent for the vibe that I usually get off of the staff when I visit parlors, which is usually condescending & impatient and always feels like Im barely being tolerated. (I hate that this generalization stopped me from frequenting parlors...Just like I hated feeling like I was being put into a box based off my appearance and their initial presumptions, Ive put them into a box by assuming all of them will regard me the way a handful have.)That was not at all the case here. Only went in for the one piercing so I cant speak of the tattoo artists but I will say that the young lady working the front was kind, welcoming, very respectful, very patient and informative, whether she was interacting with myself, my friend, or one of the other people who came in during my visit.A couple of those were, quite frankly, not very polite but she didnt let it shift how she treated others.The young lady that did my piercing was hygienic and kind and just really one of the most Pleasant people I dealt with that day.You know how when you have to get blood drawn, some nurses make you feel like youre going to jump through the ceiling and others may as well be using a feather instead of a needle? Well I dont know if that magic touch is a thing when it comes to piercings, but if it is, the young lady that did mine was the gentle kind. I kept waiting for a sick snap but I never felt anything to signal she was done. She had me breathe in on 1 and out on 3. I couldnt tell you when she put it through. I never felt any more pressure than I did when she initially started messing with it to prep.Anyway, it was a great visit. Their Thursday deal is amazing, their staff is amazing with hands that are delicate like a flower (snort,) & I really like the way you step into a little room for your piercing. It offers so much privacy and calm than being led to one of many chairs in an open floor plan.Once this has healed I will be returning to get the other ear done. And the next time I get an itch for a tattoo, Ill be driving from Coldwater Mississippi up to this place to have that work completed.Thanks yall!

I personally think that my septum was pierced to far down. and the lady made us come earlier than our appointment because she “wanted to go home”. but my nostril piercing went great.

My tattoo artist Crash did an amazing job on my rose on my wrist . He was super funny and welcoming and sweet . Although in pain, his goofy jokes kept my mind off of it. Ill definitely be back for my next piece!

HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!! HORRIBLE!!THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE THE ONE STAR IM GIVING!!1st problem -- artist didnt show for first appointment.2nd problem -- Another artist agreed to do it instead, quoting me 4 times what the other artist quoted.3rd problem -- Lost my deposit completely. They were supposed to deduct $40 deposit from cost of tattoo. When I brought to their attention they said oh, well the other artist got that money.4th problem -- artist couldnt finish my tat because my skin wouldnt take the ink. Now we all know this is complete and total BULL!! Made a second appointment to finish it.5th problem -- artist didnt show for second appointment to finish. All other employees told me he should not have made me an appt. that soon after the firs part.6th problem -- Could not get a response to rescheduling second appt.7th problem -- artist finally shows for second appt to finish but couldnt finish again because he didnt want to damage my skin.8th problem -- Show up for my 3rd appointment to find out that the artist is no longer employed there.9th problem -- after fighting and fighting, finally got them to agree to have another artist finish the work who informed me that the work done was horrible and I would still have to take care of that artist for finishing. Keep in mind I have already paid over $400 for something that isnt done well and isnt finished.10th problem -- Manager wouldnt agree to not charging me for the work the new artist will do. The other artist got that moneyI FINALLY said forget it. I decided it was too risky to have anyone that worked there touch my body so I am now out $400 and have to have someone fix the horrible work already done!!!If you dont take any other advice in your life from anyone, take this from me and save yourself, time, money, frustration, pain, trauma, etc. etc. etc.

Amazing atmosphere with friendly, supportive professionals. I was tattooed by Araceli and she was kind, attentive and professional. My only regret is I didnt get anything at the new coffee shop!

I don’t think it’s fair that people can’t have direct contact with Ian and all contact has to be through his assistant or whoever it is. And I was quoted a price by the assistant one day and then the next day she says something about sales tax. I never heard of anyone charging sales tax on a tattoo. I asked to speak with him and I haven’t been able to speak with him personally just the assistant which is unprofessional since I’m doing business with him not his assistant

Had a great experience. Daniel (Knucklehead) touched up a chest piece of mines and it looks like a completely different tattoo!!! I love it. Cant wait to go back and get more work done from him.

Im a lil late writing a review, but this is prolly the best place to get ink in the m. reggie a dope tattoo artist, and everyone seems to be genuine and humble. going here for my second piece, 1/1 recommended

It was great. It was relatively quick for a walk in and my tattoo looks great. Everyone was super nice and friendly. They also do yard work.

Very knowledgeable artists. Nice quite and comfortable atmosphere. Ian did an awesome job with my piece.i will definitely book again.

Never could get past the scheduling hurdles. Then they stopped answering when I called. Im sure theyre busy enough that they surely dont need my few dollars, so I ended up going elsewhere.

Could not ask for better service and atmosphere. These guys are so humble and incredibly talented. Beyond pleased with every tattoo Ive gotten here!

Worst experience and complete lack of professionalism. Made an appointment more than a week in advance show up for a scheduled appointment and nothing has even been drawn. Walked out after waiting an hour and fort-five minutes of waiting. Pretty clear why they make the deposit non refundable

Wouldnt let me acompany my minor child in the store. Ask for owner to call me to explain and never called.- I asked for a call not an email and no you said wait in my vehicle.

I called and spoke with a courteous young man who took a message for the lady who provided the desired service, but no one ever returned my call. I went to Studio 42 instead.

Got the a Fleur De Lis on the right forearm by JESSE....she did the damn thang. I would refer her any day so check out her work. Will post my her art work on the Facebook page soon.

Do not go here , “ TAY” pierced my tragus and I had to go to another shop to get it removed because it turns out she pierced me with jewelry that was to small so my ear had no room to swell up , she does not know what she is doing at all , do not waste your money

I recently got something pierced and it took an hour and a half from my appointment time to get it done and the piercings are crooked and incorrect could have been better
