Great experience! I worked with a student who touched up an old tattoo. Later we talked about another tattoo to memorialize my Mother. She took my idea and created a beautiful iris. It was so absolutely perfect and it meshed well and fit with my current tattoo, too! Highly recommend the cleanliness and comfort of the shop. My artist was well trained and went through protocol each time. Great shop to work with and I love their specials!

I have had only positive experiences coming to this studio. Shelly and Gil are excellent teachers. They provide all their students with up to date techniques and knowledge. Ive personally witnessed students improve in a short period of time and am impressed with the outcome. I absolutely love the tattoo machines they use, and believe the students who come out of their school will be excellent tattoo artists who will go far in their careers.

I treasure each and every tattoo Shelly has given me. Each of my tattoos are works of art that were very well thought out and executed. The attention to detail is fantastic. I have recommend several people to come to see Shelly. I am always stopped and asked where I got my work done. This is a place where each and every person wants to make sure you are as comfortable as possible. My oldest tattoo is 10 and the color and lines are just as fresh looking as my 1 year old tattoo. The students at the shop are great! They are very talented and really enjoy what they are doing.Most recently, a student tattooed an awesome spider in my elbow ditch. It was a great experience and I will definitely come back.

Ive been going to Garden of ink for years. Always the best experience Ive ever had in a shop. I love the work she has done on my self, my wife and friends. Ive watched her students in the learning process as well was tattooing. From what Ive seen on the quality of that work speaks volumes to the schooling that is provided at Garden of Ink. A friendly comfortable shop and I cant possibly see my self going anywhere else.

I won a tattoo from Gil. He was patient with scheduling me in for it. He took my drawing that I drew for my tattoo and he made it look way better and I loved it. He accommodated my needs as I have super sensitive skin and applied this special organic ointment I needed before he started tattooing. (Which I was nervous he wouldnt want to do) But he did and my tattoo turned out amazing. Will definitely go back. I would also reccomend them. Clean environment. Friendly staff. Love the place.

It is always an enjoyable experience at Garden of Ink. The shop has a cozy feel and is kept impeccably clean. The artists are very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating.The Garden of Ink is a wonderful place to be a student also. As a student, you get a full, well-rounded education on safety, standards, ethics, and can express artistic freedoms that you may not be granted in some internship situations.I definitely suggest the Garden of Ink for those looking for a stellar tattoo, or an education in the art of tattooing.

Me and my wife went in for our anniversary and got ink to commemorate 10 years together. Both Gill and Shelly were amazing, talkative, informative and all around a really good experience. We loved our ink so much that for my daughters 18th birthday I took her there to get more ink for myself and my daughter. Everything turned out amazing and we of course would highly recommend and will be going back for our future ink addictions.

In the ten years Ive been going to Shelly I have only one complaint ... my favorite piece is on my back & I cant see it!She has always been very friendly & patient with me having to take too many smoke breaks while getting inked. The shop is very clean & a comfortable place to be. Ive recommended her shop before & Ill do it again.

Ive known shelly for 8+years I have had alot of of tattooing done over those years and have always had a very pleasant experience, always professional.Ive met the students over the years that shes been teaching, great people Ive also gotten tattoos from a few of them. I think Garden of ink is a great place to come If thinking about getting a tattoo.

I dont think Ive ever felt more comfortable while getting a tattoo. My big piece took a while but Shelly made sure I had time to move, drink water and rest if I needed. It was the best experience. One if not the best piece I have, and I have 14! Been to studios all over California, Arizona & Nevada. Im so glad I found this place and will be going back. Very clean, professional and friendly.

What I appreciate seeing is how connected Shelly Dax is with the community. Garden of Ink invests in relationships and I have seen the small family of friends and clients that Shelly started out with grow now into a broader network of fans, students and professionals. Garden of Ink has a good reputation in this town and meets a need on a local level. It is a great springboard for students into a great, new career. Plus, Shelly has high standards for professionalism, health and safety. I work with youth who might otherwise explore inappropriate and more unsafe methods to acquire tattoos or piercings and I can rely on her to provide education, guidance and mentoring on a level that frankly, I just dont see among other artists, who seem to prize the excellence in their art over everything else. Garden of Ink is humble and relatable, and has become a hub of quite a diversity of ink entrepreneurs and a source of information, instruction and encouragement to the emerging community of tattoo artists in this area.

Shelley is an amazing tattoo artist. She designed and tattooed a friend of mine, which I paid for. My friend wanted a huge tattoo for their first tattoo. It turns out they dont sit well. Shelley was patient and gentle and was able to create an amazing tattoo which my friend is incredibly happy with.

I Actually Got A Tattoo Here May 8th, 2018. I Originally Chatted With Gil Over Email, He Recommended An Artist For Me And The Artist And I Corresponded. I Was Super Comfortable With Her After Talking, I Gave Her What I Wanted (The Word Stay;) But Left The Style Of Writing/Font Open For Her To Play With. My Artist (Randi) Was Super Personable And Sweet, The Owner (Shelly) Came Out And Chatted/Joked With Us While I Was Getting It Done And It Was An All Around Great Time. Randi Really Took Interest In Hearing The Story Behind My (Extremely Personal) Tattoo And I Made Sure To Tip Her Double What I Paid For The Tattoo Itself. I Plan On Going Back And I Recommend Garden To Anyone And Everyone.

My wife and I have gone to The Garden Of Ink for a couple of years now. I have one Tatoo from there and my wife has 4 and one is a full back piece. I will be there in next month (depending on vacation request approval) to get another one. I love this place and the atmosphere here. It is ran with top notch and ot is a very fun place to be.

This is appalling. These people have no right trying to teach someone to tattoo when they cant pull off even a mediocre tattoo themselves. Or teach art for that matter. The custom artwork displayed is comparable to a middle schooler with no talent. And then to tattoo it on someone is horrible. What people dont see that those of us with experience can, is that these tattoos theyve posted will heal badly and actually look even worse. And then over time get even worse. Real tattoo artists spend years studying and refining their craft and it takes many many years before being ready to take on an apprentice and teach them the skills needed to tattoo. This school lacks the expertise to tattoo, much lease teach any form of art. Its horrible. Go here, pay 12 grand, and then get out and get laughed at by real tattoo shops for wasting your money. The audacity to produce such garbage work and think you have the ability to teach others is mind blowing. My review and the many others that are flooding in right now are coming from the rest of the tattoo industry. People who actually worked and sacrificed to become proficient at this craft. People who are absolutely sickened to see this disaster. We are standing up for the people out there who might be ripped off by going to this shop or school. Exposing it for what it is. A joke and a scam.

I love Shelly! Her work is amazing & she runs a great business. If anyone tells you different, they havent done business with Garden of Ink.

Have you ever wanted to tattoo? For 98 low payments of $14,307, you too can be a mediocre tattooer just like the staff of this shop. Much like going to a cosmetology school for a haircut, you can get a cheap tattoo that youll regret within a week! Bad, hacky artistry and absolutely no understanding of the culture of tattooing. By all means, this place is pumping out scratchers at an alarming rate! Get a degree and start tattooing out of your van! Ugh.

Please stay far away from any type of tattoo school the tattoos that I have seen this company perform are terrible executed... choppy line work, splotchy color, and damaged skin from improper tattooing. Do not be scared to earn your place in this craft with a proper apprenticeship by qualified artists

You should learn to tattoo before you attempt to teach someone. Youre whats wrong with this industry. Blind leading the blind. You need to step back and do a proper apprenticeship so you can learn the fundamentals of tattooing, the fact that youre running a tattoo school is comical.

I loved it there everyone was so sweet it was so comfortable there we talked about our kids and Shelly was so friendly, she did an awesome job on. Me and my daughters tattoo I will definitely go back

Ive had 3 tattoos done by Vincent here. The place is clean, items are sterile, and staff is nice. Definitely got a repeat customer!

The general public is unaware,so I want to set it straight. Tattooing cant be learned in a school,its a craft that gets handed down from master to apprentice over the course of a minimum of a year. People are trying to cash in on its recent popularity. THIS MUST BE STOPPED! Its an injustice to the potential artist,and his or her customers. BE AWARE...THIS IS A SCAM!

Im currently attending school at Garden of Ink. It is the perfect balance of regimented learning in a relaxed environment. Im confident in the education Im recieving. These are people who truly care about their clients and students and it shows!

Very nice people. Very clean. And great artist and very willing to help. idk why it made me rate a 1 but that is defiantly a mistake. Defiantly a place to check out and get work done if I had the money I would more then willing to go.

Went to garden of ink and got a rose tattoo done by a lady named Sasha last summer did an amazing job super professional workplace, even though they are students, dont let that deter you from going here, they are damn good and have somebody watching and instructing at the same time, super happy with the turnout and will be coming back!
