Inklightened Tattoo & Piercing

Ive known the shop since they were at the other location, Max has tattooed me twice, and about 2 months ago I got my conch piercing done by Mike, theyre both great and know what theyre doing, theyll also answer any questions you have and work with you to get what you want, Im a very happy customer! These guys are my go-tos when it comes to piercings and tatts !! Im thinking about getting another tattoo eventually, keep up the great work guys, yall awesome!!!

What can I say after listening to my constant ideas, changes etc… Max patiently worked with me to create my sleeve theme. It’s a process. I wasn’t t rushed, Max made me feel comfortable explaining everything step by step. The environment is clean and sanitary his work and experience speaks for itself. He is professional and makes sure what you’re getting is what you want. I will be back as many time as my wallet allows so I can complete this master piece we are constructing and possibly then some. Thanks max for making this experience fun and enjoyable. Talking to Max made a 3 hour visit feel like 20 minutes, he is not just my artist, he is considered a friend now. See you soon. My daughter got her 2nd ear piercing. Place looked clean, the technician made sure everything was sterile. She was super friendly and the actual piercing was seamless. My daughter was happy with the results. Would definitely return for another piercing. Plenty of parking on the street and across the street. Dont park next door. Was told thats private parking.

Hello mu daughter has her belly button pierced today and Roxy was the wonderful lady who did it. First, the place is SPOTLESS and Roxy was AMAZING so kind and caring.My daughter was nervous she was patient and talked her through every step. She was a doll!!! I took my teen and her friend to Inklightened last week for a few parentally-consented (and documented - they are legally required to check ID, birth certificates, etc) piercings. The piercer, Leah (Lee), was friendly and patient with the girls, and the studio was immaculate. This studio does piercings properly with a needle, not a piercing gun. I even decided to join in and get a cartilage piercing, which had minimal pain and was quick.Their prices at I lnklightened are reasonable, and they seem to have available same-day appointments for piercing - at least when we went on a weekday.The selection of jewelry was fine, but it would be nice to have the option for gold plated surgical steel in addition to silver (they were out of a few styles, on order). Overall, very good experience.

I got 2 piercings (love and cartilage). The place was super clean and comfortable! Really nice atmosphere and the guy who pierced my ear (Mike?) was super nice. I’m not the best with needles and he made me feel really comfortable! I would definitely go back again.

I recently had an outer conch piercing done by Leah who did a great job. She is very knowledgeable and made the experience pretty painless. The shop is nicely decorated, spotless and smells great.

Accidentally lost my nose piercing this morning, came here to get new jewelry. The guy here helped me pick something out and helped put it back in for me. Very nice, very helpful.

This place is great. I’ve gone here for the majority of my piercings, which are done in a timely manner and the place is very organized! They give you instructions on how to care for your piercing(s) as well. :] The earrings here have personally never given me a problem during the healing process. In the front part of the shop, they display the jewelry and sell the solution you can use to clean the piercing. Definitely recommend coming here!!

Mike was my artist. When I thought about getting this tattoo I was unsure about about placement and the design. I worked with Mike sending him designs and getting his input. We settled on a design and he went to work. Extremely personable and knows what he’s doings. Large or small he dedicated to his work and will make YOUR piece perfect! Thank you Mike!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Clean, professional and artists who take the time and care about what you want. Mike did my ink work and was thorough and meticulous to make sure my tat was just how I wanted it, great artist. This is my new place going forward.

I took a chance on going to this shop based on the positive reviews I read. I wanted to get a daith piercing. I went on a Sunday afternoon. The place was clean and welcoming...no loud music and a bunch of people just hanging around. Max was courteous, informative & professional. The process was painful but he was so smooth and reassuring, that I got a second one (the tragus). Their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend him and might even go back for another one soon.

I am so happy with my tattoo. Mike did a wonderful job and he was so nice to talk to throughout the whole process, nice music in the background too. I got a fine line tattoo that came out great and would normally be extremely expensive at maybe other places, but I got a really reasonable deal on it which makes me want to come back and get more tattoos! Highly recommend to anyone who’s looking for talented artists to work with. I will definitely be back for my next piece.

Mikey is absolutely amazing. His attention to detail when it comes to tattooing is like none other. He genuinely cares about his work. Definitely recommend going to Mikey.

Was there today and couldn’t be happier with the work that was done. Max was a one man show today so we were interrupted a couple of times but he handled super professionally and I don’t think anyone was disappointed.

I have no words to express the amount of pain i am in. i made an appointment with mike to get a navel piercing. not only was i informed by a specialist that my anatomy wasnt even built to have this piercing (after i got it done), but mike failed to inform me that the placement of the piercing is not even close to where it should have been. After they gave me trouble over the phone and was arguing about it, i went back to the place and showed them how not only is it in the incorrect area but how severely infected it was. They do not care about the clients clearly, they only want the money. after several minutes of arguing at the place, telling me im wrong, i eventually got a refund. Also to mention, they “couldnt find” my wavier which is a serious problem! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

I originally loved this place and thought I got lucky finding a local shop. I did a piercing here and then a tattoo. I called back months later wanting to do another tattoo with the same artist. I just wanted to talk to him on the phone about the details and a possible quote. I left my phone and message with a girl. 3 months later and still nothing. I have called a handful of times with no answer. I walked in today, stood around for about 5 minutes and just gave up when no one came out. I don’t get how you wouldn’t want the business especially for returning customers. I’m not bothering with this place anymore.

I got my first tattoo about a week ago. This place is nice on the inside and very clean. My artist Eric was very professional. He was a really cool chill person. He made me feel more comfortable throughout the whole process all while we listened to some good music. He did exactly what I wanted and the tattoo came out amazing. I would definitely get another one there.

Today I went to get a matching tattoo and Mikey did an amazing job! It was perfect and exactly the way we wanted. The place was clean and everyone was very kind and made us feel welcome. Last minute, we made a decision about getting a belly piercing and we got amazing help from Julissa. She helped me calm my nerves and she was very careful with me. I got both my first and second ear lobe piercings here, and it was an amazing experience. Staff are very clean, polite, and explain the process of what they are doing very well!

I have heard that this place is absolutely awful. They do not know how to properly pierce their clients. I know of someone that recently had a horrible experience here. The artists here were VERY disrespectful to my friend as she had a huge infection due to the artist not properly piercing her naval area. They are not even professional here nor are they clean! Please do not go here!!! There are better places that have actual PROFESSIONALS!!!!

A little backstory, I have a piercer that I usually go to;however, she does not do cheek or smiley piercings. I went in blindly via Google, called (receptionist was very polite and professional ), and did what was recommended (which is to make an appointment ) When I got there the first thing I noticed was how immaculate the studio is. Second, the prices are very good for the piercing I was asking for,. Three, Mike, the receptionist, and the owner were all really wonderful people. They took their time to answer my questions, were very patient while I decided (last minute mind you) what piercing I wanted. Having said that, the piercing itself is symmetrical and the jewelry is top quality. Only problem I had was the swelling started to encompass my jewelry so I have to put in longer bars to accommodate for that. (Not their fault) I would recommend going there to anyone. Just a side note* entitlement is real on these reviews often having nothing to do with the work. Be kind and considerate to everyone bc theyre not robots. They are three dimensional human beings with thoughts and feelings and both good and bad days. Anyone who has a job can relate im sure.Anyways, rant over.

Clean place, comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, and talented artists! I was on vacation with a friend and we wanted ink to remember the trip by. I was a walk-in that ended up staying for a 3 hour tattoo from Mike. He was great! I’m so happy with his work and professionalism. Accidentally spent my whole paycheck on the tattoo and a tip but it was worth every cent. If I find myself in the area again, I will definitely be back!

I have come here many times to get my piercings done with Max. I have also done a portrait tattoo of my dog with him. A few days ago, I went to get a few things added to a previous tattoo with Mike. I wasn’t sure how I wanted to do it and it was the simplest smallest little thing ever. You could tell that Mike was getting upset and was very impatient with my opinions. Long story short, I ended up leaving with only one piece being done because he was in a rush to leave. I asked Max if he could help me and just finish the little piece of tattoo left, and he declined helping me. I was extremely disappointed. Not to mention he charged me $150 to tattoo 5 small letters and didn’t even finish the rest of the tattoo. Will never go back here for anything. Please be careful when booking here.

The entire staff is amazing. They are patient and truly listen to your needs and give insight to make your vision come to life and truly enjoy your tattoos and or piercings as I have done several with them. The establishment is also very clean. I will most definitely be back.

We walked in on a Sunday afternoon coming from NY, right as they opened, and there was six of us getting tattooed. The guys could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Jay did our tattoos and every one of them is beautiful and the experience was amazing. He is friendly, knowledgeable and a great artist! Walked out with big smiles and will def take the trip back to get more done by him!

Just got my first ever tattoo done here today and I couldnt be happier! Everyone was so nice and friendly, it was really a great experience. Camilo did my tattoo and it looks so good! I showed it off to a few people already and they were simply amazed with the quality. Id recommend this shop to anyone and everyone that wants a tattoo done well. I dont usually write Google reviews but this tattoo and piercing shop is well deserving of one. Ive recently gotten two piercings from this shop and couldnt be any more happier than I already am. The staff is extremely professional and educated. Shop is clean and comfortable. Instructions on treatment are explained twice and everything is quick and fun. I have adopted this shop as my own for I will be returning for every piercing I get. Once I start my sleeve I will definitely be visiting them again. Thank you to both Max and Chang for making both experiences great!

So far I’ve gotten two tattoos from this place and I have never made the best decision like picking this place to get a tattoo. The crew is super nice, they make the tattoos like FIRE! I went today for my arrow/rose tattoo and I’m absolutely in love and they made me feel welcome. I HIGHLY recommend you to go here.

I had an awesome experience there. The area was clean, well lit and very peaceful. Everyone was extremely friendly, and I didnt feel any hesitation or discomfort. I got my nose piercing done here, and Max was welcoming and pleasant. Everything was clean, sterile and isolated. The prices are also reasonable ($50 for a nose piercing, stud included). It was also really quick; I was in and out in 30 mins, even though the actual piercing only took less than 10. Make sure to schedule an appointment in advance.

This is the place. I had been wanting the chakra symbols tattooed down my spine for a while. I called a bunch of different place for pricing and availability but when I spoke with Jay, I knew I found my artist. We immediately connected, he had been wanting to do a piece similar to what I described so I came in for a consultation. Jay was extremely knowledgeable and knew he needed a specific size needle to obtain the clean lined look I was asking for. During the almost 4 hour process, Jay made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. He is now my go-to for any of my tattoo and piercing needs. Highly highly recommend!!!

By far the best tattoo shop i have stepped foot in. It has a great positive environment, super clean, the tattoo artists are amazingly nice and enthusiastic, an experience truly unforgettable. I just got my septum nose done yesterday and I’m very happy with the results. I didn’t have to make an appointment at all since they were taking walk-ins and the waiting time was very small, and the process of getting the piercing done was fast as well. The staff was very nice and gave me proper instructions for aftercare. It was overall a very nice experience.

Had my bottom lip pierced today and was pretty nervous, they made me feel very comfortable. Very clean, great sense of humor and sweet. Prices were beyond reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place. Im glad I chose this five star location!

It was a super clean shop. Alec did a beautiful piece on my foot that was one of his custom designs - super clean and the lines are well-defined. Hes a quick artist with a lot of talent, but not sloppy - before I knew it, it was over! It was a very comfortable atmosphere to get a tattoo - very laidback, and Alec is good at making you feel comfortable, especially considering I was getting a tattoo on one of the most painful spots. Prices are great, the staff is very friendly, and Id highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get piercings, tattoos, etc. Looking forward to getting more ink soon by Alec!

I went to visit my family in the U.S a month ago in the state of New jersey, then decided to get a tattoo. As I did some research on Google around the area. I found Inklightened Tattoo to be the one with the best quality tattoo work and friendly good customer service. I called the shop and spoke with the Tattoo artist, Nathaly, who helped to make my tattoo as I planned it to be. She specializes in traditional tattoos, so she gave me her ideas and drew something that I was very happy with, the outcome was amazing. I love it. Im very happy with my tattoo. Also, the environment is really clean, very professional and would definitely recommend, reliable prices and great tattoos.

This is my first tattoo ever and I am so happy I went to Inklightened! I wanted something very subdued and not too out there and Jay definitely helped me find exactly the kind of tattoo I wanted! I came in as a walk-in and they took care of me really well! We even had a back and forth conversation about suggestions and placements, etc. This is definitely the place to go! P.S. Im very afraid of needles and Inklightened made me so comfortable, my fear went away. Highly Recommend this place!

Awesome shop. Max fixed and gave flavor to my first tattoo. He also did my 2nd and 3rd tat. The shop is easy to find. Depending on what time of the day you go parking is not too bad. Clean and organized shop.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. My husband set an appointment for a piece and the receptionist set a specific date and time. My husband revolved his entire work week around this session and when arrived he was told by Maximilian (artist) sorry who ever set the appointment said you were getting something really small and i only have you down for 1hr tops. After my husband debated the miscommunication and explained he was pretty clear to the receptionist on what he wanted, the artist said, he could squeeze him in 3-4 weeks out. Complete waste of time! May we add, the morning receptionist is completely unprofessional. Much better and more professionals out there, do yourself the favor and find a organized studio whos well communicated.

Went here to get my second hole pierced because the reviews looked promising, and they certainly were. The owner is very kind and genuine, made you feel comfortable and explained everything before and as he did it. Definitely going back here.

He took the time to prepare sketchings ahead of time and listened intently to my desires, all while creating an original & authentic piece. I went to Inklightened to get an Industrial and a Daith piercing. I was nervous about going to a tattoo parlor but looking at their well curated website and speaking to them over the phone helped to sooth me. I made a bit of a fool of myself when I rang the bell and knocked on the door, only to turn the door knob and find it open. The owner was nice about this and met me at the door smiling kindly.The shop itself is small, but the space is used wisely, giving it a homey feel. Well lit and inviting, the walls are covered in what Im guessing is potential tattoo art, and the background music is trendy but not loud. The windows are covered with dark colored blinds so youre not on display to people walking by, and the seating is comfortable, encouraging you to bring a friend.Mike was the guy who pierced me. Id previously read his bio on their website and felt comfortable with him. He spoke softly, but firmly, exuding a friendly confidence that assured me he knew what he was doing. Before the piercing began, he used tweezers to pluck the jewelry he was going to use on me from the case. I wanted a circular barbell for my Daith, but once again, he spoke firmly yet kindly, telling me that I would have to have a curved barbell to allow for swelling and drainage. I looked that up online, and he was right. The actual piercings themselves happened quickly. He used 3 different needles, throwing each away after a single use, and then he changed his gloves every time he left the room to get a new piece of jewelry.Overall, I had a WONDERFUL experience!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

There are really no words to express how great this place is. Ive gone here to get my 2nd and 3rd hole piercings, my daith piercing, and 2 tattoos (on shoulder and ankle). Ive even brought my sister here to get a tattoo. And just to let you know, Ive followed them from their Elizabeth location to their new location in Cranford. If that doesnt tell you what you need to know then idk what will. Everyone there is great at what they do and special shout-out to Val. She was amazing for my latest piercing that I got on Halloween.

The guys there are amazing they make you feel welcomed and take their time with each tattoo. I got my first tattoo and my rook piercing done by max and Ioved it. And the second time I went to Alec, he did an amazing job on both of my tattoos. I cant wait to go back for more.

Alec did a custom Lotus Flower and it turned out PERFECT!!! Way beyond my expectations it’s WILD!!I highly recommend him and the shop to everyone. They are straight forward on what can be done and what would look best, very detailed oriented. Excellent experience clean and organized shop; friendly staff, great and vastly experience artist; reasonably priced. You can’t ask for more in a shop. Amazing!! Jay was my tattoo artist and he did a great job, details are 100%. I personally have darker skin and most of my tattoos don’t pop out very well but jay found a way to make it stick out! Very glad I came to him.

I went in yesterday for my septum piercing, and my friend got a small tattoo on her leg. Max (who pierced me, also the owner & tattoo artist) and Mike (who did her tat) were both super friendly and professional. The first time piercing, the jewelry was being fussy and wouldnt push through. I got a bit dizzy because I didnt eat and they were so accommodating- gave me water and candy to raise my sugar levels. Max repierced it, for FREE, and was genuinely sorry for the issue (although I could tell he was experienced, I have a very narrow nose and little space to work with). Mike also stood on the side of me to make sure I didnt fall over, and to assist Max. The tattoo my friend got was a little elephant with splashes of watercolor and it came out amazing, I was so jealous. The whole time we talked it felt like wed been going there for years. I will be back soon for some new tattoos :) Thanks guys!P.S- they play awesome music, and theres parking behind the building!

My man hardcore Jay Maniakal is AMAZING!!! I sat for over 3 hours it felt like 30 minutes. He is super gentle! 100% professional and an insane artist. Shop is super close to BK! I have already made an appointment for myself and my husband. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!

I am typically terrified of everything to do with piercings, however Julissa was very patient, gentle, and understanding. I did not even feel anything when she was changing my piercing. I highly recommend going here if you want a new piercing or getting an earring change.

I got my belly button and nose pierced here. The man is so nice and he even let me come in to change my ring because I wasnt able to, free of charge. It was very clean. The only concern that I had was whether or not the ball on my belly button and the stud piece on my nose ring was also surgical steel because my holes were a little dark. That might just be part of my healing process due to the fact that Im Black but Im not 100% sure. Other than that he was thorough and so nice and helpful!

I was looking forward to get my second Tattoo. I spoke to the tattoo girl Nathaly. She showed me a lot of variety, so I decided to get a zodiac sign tattoo. She is so good and talented. I did not even feel pain even though I got a big and colorful tattoo. She was very professional. She keep everything clean and in place.I recommend this parlor. Max is the man; no way around it; cleanest shop Ive seen in Jersey, Every one on the staff is friendly and highly educated (which is a MUST). Shout out to Mike! They make every single one of my visits a cool fun experience. Im a fan! these guys really know what they are doing.

I got this tattoo at this shop and I have never been more disappointed and upset with how this came out. The quote says “suffering ends with acceptance” and you can barely read it. The artist ruined such a beautiful quote that meant a lot to me. The artist had an EXTREMELY heavy hand as you can see and no this tattoo isn’t new. The ink bled under my skin causing it to look ridiculously bruised. I will never be back here. If I can give this negative stars I would. Worst tattoo experience ever!

Although the facility is well kept and the piercer is friendly and patient .::::the jewelry used to pierce was very cheap and not of good quality. I am used to going to a piercing shop in New Brunswick that is a little pricey but the jewelry is beautiful and you have a plethera of choices to choose from for your piercing .

I was searching for a tattoo shop and came across Inklightened, As I entered everyone their greeted you. The tattoo artist I had (Alec), made me feel welcomed. He did a great job with my tattoo and ill be sure to go back for more!

I went to Inklightened for a second ear piercing. I was pleasantly surprised by the fee, as it was lower than piercing pagoda and even included the earrings. I paid $40 +tax total for two stud piercings. Going in, I was extremely nervous but the piercer was professional and made me feel less terrified.

Hailing from Singapore, I was in New Jersey for a vacation trip and I wanted to get inked. After several research and reviews on tattoo parlors around the area, I chose to head down to Inklightened Tattoo & Piercing based on customer reviews via online.I got a traditional skull colored tattoo on my arm, it was done by one of the tattoo artist (Nathaly), and it’s an original art piece drawn by her. Im very impressed by the line works and color vibrancy when my tattoo is finished. Nathaly shows a great deal of professionalism in her work and furthermore, shes a great tattoo artist. I highly recommend anyone who wants to get inked to look for her.In addition, Inklightend has friendly staffs, clean working environment, superb artwork, and provides excellent tattoo services. I’ll be sure head back there to get another tattoo whenever Im back to visit!

Really wonderful experience. Took my daughter to get her belly button pierced and couldnt have been more happy with how she was treated, the cleanliness of the place, how everything was explained to her about the procedure and the upkeep.

Great and quick experience, I didn’t need that much done… just got my third lobe pierced and it was done efficiently. I was in and out in about ten minutes given it wasn’t a busy time.

Went to Inklightened to get my tattoo done. My tattoo is the embodiment of my deceased father. I needed someone to tattoo the Taino symbol of the sun with Angel wings. I explained that this tat was and is more than just a tat it is a representation of my dad, a daily reminder of his rising. So I humbly say thank you Jay Maniakal for acing it!!! I know the placement posed a challenge but man did you rise to it!!!!!YOU SLAYED IT!!!!!!

I looked this tattoo shop on google and I came across it and I read rhe reviews which were really good so I decided to go. The owner made me feel very comfortable the shop is super clean and I ended up getting my nose pierced.

My girlfriend wanted to get a piercing and we went here. The guy who did it, Max, was just amazing he walked her through what would happen and helped explain how to clean it. I would definitely go back.

Its my first time getting my tongue pierced and it was quick and easy. Everything came out perfectly! Its been a week now and there hasnt been any problem.

I got pierced here a few weeks ago and I noticed that it started to look and feel strange and I even thought when i got done it looked a bit off but anyway turns out I wasnt pierced in the correct place I was pierced NEAR the correct spot and I was told because of the placement it was rejecting and I caught it early on so I wasted my time and money but thanks for the experience though I guess

Had an emergency situation where my sister needed a tongue ring after she swallowed hers. Called when we were 17 minutes away and was told they’d be open for another 30 minutes. They were closed upon arrival. Very unhappy with this experience and lack of customer service.

My daughter had a piercing done. It was done very professionally. Studio was very clean and very nice inside.

Artist gave me a blowout, then insisted it was just healing and that it would go away. It’s definitely a blowout now after 6 months.Tat doesn’t look good at all.
