I’ve known Hans and followed their career for over five years now, and I exclusively choose them for my tattoos. Every time I walk into the shop, they make me feel incredibly comfortable, and their work is nothing short of immaculate. Hans is a truly gifted artist who listens to what I want, making the design even better than I imagined.

I got a flash tattoo done by the amazing human and artist, Hans. Theyre very professional, quick, and precise- truly a master of their craft! All around good vibes in the studio. Everything from the outside, interior, and daily playlist is so beautifully put together it really encompasses this dynamic duo. Get your tattoo and tooth gems here, I cant recommend them enough!

Go see her for tooth gems, she’s the best!! Also, if you’re thinking about getting a tattoo, Hans is one of the most incredible artists I’ve ever seen. Don’t waste your time going anywhere else, they are hands down one of the best tattoo artists in the country. We would drive across state lines to go to them any day!

Communion Tattoo Gathering is a welcome new addition to Dunbar! Conveniently located on Ohio Ave., the shop is easy to find with clear signage out front. From what I could see, it is accessible with no step-ups from the sidewalk into the building.The shop is very clean, safe, and comfortable! The decor inside gives you a lot to look at, and its so cool. Its a very inclusive, friendly vibe.Hans is a top-notch tattoo artist (@tattoosbyhans on IG). Theyre professional, welcoming, patient, and wonderful to work with. Ive gotten 3 tattoos from them so far (jellyfish, squid, spider), and plan on getting several more in the future. Hans really takes the time to draw up excellent designs and executes them well.During the shops grand opening, I was also lucky enough to get a tattoo from Sophia Elvy (@selvytattoo on IG), featuring a bug design from Lee Phillips (@hahaoktattoo on IG). Communion Tattoo Gatherings grand opening was an outstanding event that hosted a small group of super talented guest artists. I wouldnt be surprised if the shop has other artists drop by in the future, which is a cool prospect!So, if youre looking for a great tattoo experience in an awesome environment, Id highly recommend stopping by Communion Tattoo Gathering!

I’ve gotten a thigh tattoo, a half sleeve and I’m working on a full sleeve from this shop. The shop has been super flexible as far as scheduling and making it easy to come down. I get a lot of compliments on the quality of work they did on my tattoos. Cannot recommend enough

Hans is an amazing artist. They have done two very sentimental pieces for me, and always took it very seriously. This shop is run by great people, and is a very safe and welcoming environment. It would be a wonderful place to get your first tattoo! I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else.

Hans does not disappoint! The communication, cleanliness, and care are unmatched. I have several tattoos done by them and I will continue making the nearly two hour drive for more. They are excellent at bringing my ideas to life and knocking out a tattoo way beyond my expectations. Highly recommend!

I stumbled across Hans when they were still working in kanawha city and have followed them ever since! It’s wonderful to have an artist you can trust to put something together to fit your body and the space you have to work with. I also never realized how much thought an artist should put into color tones that work well on a clients skin until I began getting tattooed by them. Not only is their application flawless but they are also very quick and efficient with tattooing!Amber and Hans have put together a wonderful studio from scratch and I am so proud to see how far they have come! I would recommend them both to any and everyone I know. We are so fortunate to have such a talented artist here in West Virginia!

Communion Tattoo Gathering is such a cozy shop. I felt very comfortable there. Hans made sure I was comfortable, provided entertainment and snacks for my long tattoo session. This was my first time being tattooed by Hans and it wont be the last. Best tattoo shop in WV.

I first went to Hans five years ago after moving to Charleston and it was the best decision I could’ve made. Since then we have had over a dozen appointments and I couldn’t be happier with the work done. The professionalism and cleanliness in Hans work is second to none. Every time I’ve had an idea Hans has been able to make it a reality and transform it into a piece of art that will last a lifetime.

Everything about my experience was amazing!! i had my teeth whitened and got some tooth gems and i was so shocked at how white my teeth got! booking was simple and amber was so willing and able to answer all of my questions. the shop is so clean, cozy, and cute! i will definitely be coming back!
