I have gotten 5 tattoos here. Wilkie has done all my work. Superior quality and dedication to his customers are stellar. Every artist that works here is dedicated and go above and beyond in their craft. Great shop with excellent customer service.

I just wanted to detail my experiences at this location with them all being amazing. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, genuinely fun-loving and helpful people. My favorite artist is Wilkie he is the most considerate and patient artist I have ever worked with. His prices are fair for the size and quality of the work. Every tattoo he has done for me has been incredible and he allows you to tweak it until it matches what you envisioned. I never feel rushed or overwhelmed when working with him. Absolute 10/10

I was recommended by a friend and I went to get a phrase that I wanted in French and with the type of letter that was written, I love it! Can’t remember the guy’s name, but he did a good job and I will recommend it to anyone!

Danielle was the best. She took her time to explain, design I wasnt sure of what I really wanted ans she offered me several different options. Thank you I plan on getting lots more with her.

BryanP is patient, kind and very creative. We had a fabulous collaboration and the result was an awesome creation that I love. Definitely returning for to do another tattoo very soon. Clean shop, superb prices and convenient location. The final tattoo is meaningful to me and I will enjoy wearing it.

Name says it all.. from the staff to the communication and professionalism this tattoo shop stands out above the rest!. Rob is a true talent! Just based off his portfolio I gave him full artistic freedom to choose the image for my throat piece and I am not disappointed! The depth and precision of this piece is amazing! The people who work here are very kind, but I was disappointed by the quality of their work. After multiple issues with piercings I received here, I visited another highly regarded piercer on Long Island to troubleshoot. He refused to badmouth another shop, but did professionally advise me of some things that were wrong with piercings I got here at Solid Gold.1st visit: I had my nose initially pierced at Solid Gold by Kimmy. When visiting my new piercer, he advised that it was pierced crooked so (depending on the jewelry I choose) it will never sit flush against my skin. This is something I had noticed but I thought it was due to my anatomy, I didn’t realize it was due to piercer error.2nd visit: I met with Tara to have the nose stud changed to a ring. 6 months was the amount of time they advised was appropriate. Tara was unbelievably rough when changing the jewelry—this hurt more than the piercing itself. It was bleeding and swollen after she was done. Surprise: the swelling stayed and it developed an irritation bump. I visited my new piercer to have it changed back to a stud. He advised that I should have waited a year, rather than 6 months. And while he gently removed the ring, it broke in his hands, which also shows the quality of the jewelry that Solid Gold carries.2nd visit, 3rd issue: On that same visit with Tara, I also had my helix pierced. I was never advised to return for a downsize. After a couple months of issues with this piercing (frequent bleeding, pus, intense swelling despite perfect aftercare), my new piercer advised that it was not infected but this piercing had also been done at an incorrect angle so it was severely irritated, and it would probably never heal. In his opinion, the only appropriate course of action was to remove it, and he refused to touch it otherwise. We removed the piercing and the irritation disappeared shortly after.So yes, the people who work here are kind, but I would not recommend this shop. They led me to deal with months of unnecessary pain, not to mention money wasted. The quality of their work is subpar, which is irresponsible and dangerous.

Came here for the first time at the end of December after always passing by this shop to get my tongue pierced and my experience was just excellent and everything was done so professional. Kimberly explained everything I needed to do and not do with taking care of this piercing and all of it helped in the healing process. I came back again to have my tongue piercing downsized and that experience went great as well. No issues at all. She’s also just such a sweet person in general and definitely recommend her and this shop to those who are looking for a piercing. Will definitely be coming back here for more piercings of mine by Kim!

Came to this shop because I was recommended by a friend. I absolutely do no regret the decision of coming. I went to get some piercings. My piercing technician was Kimmy and she is AMAZING. Very kind, she walks you through everything and super informative. She made me feel comfortable and I am very content with my experience. Will definitely come back !

This was my first time ever getting anything pierced and Kimmy made it a completely comfortable & pleasant experience. She takes the time to explain the whole process to you as well as tells you exactly what shes doing as shes piercing you. Kimmy has amazing bedside manner, more than happy to answer any questions you might have, shes so nice and full of good vibes! I HIGHLY recommend going to her whether you are getting your first piercing or just another one general. She really does a great job. Both Tara and Jada were so accommodating; it’s my first time getting a body part pierced and they made me feel very comfortable through the process. They informed me on the sizing based on how my body part is anatomically structured and also about aftercare. They both are very experienced and I would highly recommend getting a piercing from them!

Love this place! The team was high energy and the shop was full of jokes & laughter. My mom & I were nervous to get our bellybuttons pierced, but Tara made us feel so comfortable. She was extremely personable & professional which made it a great experience! Definitely would return ✨

I come here a lot and i always get my piercings done and changed by Tara. she always knows what she’s doing and she’s done my 2 lip piercing and my other nose piercing today. always helps whenever i need a piercing changed or to any questions i have about anything. always feel comfortable when getting piercing from her because she always knows what she’s doing and is a great person. would highly recommend getting your piercings from her.

I got pierced here by kimmy and I got a dermal with her. She is my absolute favorite piercer she is an absolute angel and always treats me so well and has more than fair prices. She is extremely talented and you can tell she loves her job. I’ve never experienced a more welcoming environment and all of my piercings from her have healed with no problems so you know she’s doing something right. I will only go to her now, she’s such a gem.

I have gotten many piercing done by Kimmy at this point (both nipples, conch, and ear lobes) and can say without a doubt she is now my go to! Kimmy is very professional, sanitary, and consistently provides clean work. I havent had any issues with healing, however she is attentive to any questions I may have during the healing process. I highly recommend her services if you are considering a new piercing!

I’ve gotten piercings done here two different times. They do a great job the only problem is that they tell me one price at the register before the body mod, and suddenly it’s more when it’s time to pay. I don’t like the inconsistency of that, if the jewelry is not included in the price or if they already include tip, I’d like to know that from the beginning and not get a surprise up charge when it’s time to pay. Communication is key. I wanted to pay in cash but had to pay in credit card (which is also an extra up charge) because of this.

Danielle was my tattoo artist and also one of the co-owners. I watched her the entire time and she did my tattoo with 100% perfection. Her hands were 100% steady. She was talented and profession and really nice to talk with while I was getting my tattoo. I am going back for another one!!! This place is great.

Tara is literally the best piercer ever. She’s reassuring, professional, and so easy to talk to and vibe with! I got a tragus and it was my first cartilage piercing, so I was a bit scared, but the whole process was easy and she gave me detailed cleaning instructions.I’m gonna def go back if I want more piercings in the future

I come here often to get my piercings, the piercer Tara (@tara_thepiercer on IG for portfolio) is the best piercer Ive come across in the Queens and Nassau area, I will never get pierced by anyone else. She is an efficient, honest, clean and professional worker. She is also super cool and down to earth and makes her clients feel as comfortable as possible. I will travel from anywhere to come to Solid Gold Tattoo. The only place I’d go to for my piercings. The customer service is top notch and the individuals that work there are probably some of the most kind people you’d ever meet and they’re all insanely talented. I went to Solid Gold Tattoo with a few of my cousins and friends to get piercings. This place is clean, professional and has a laid back vibe which we liked. Tara is by far very amazing and super helpful. She pierced my conch and helix and even helped me out a few times afterwards due to a metal allergy i never knew i had. Definitely will be going back soon to get some more piercings from Tara.

Came here two weeks ago to get my piercings done with a needle for the first time by Rico and he did an amazing job!!! He was super kind, caring, and professional. I got two forward helix piercings and nose piercing done by him. The staff was nice and welcoming as well. Will be coming back soon to get another piecing done. My Experience as I was getting my Dermal piercing was nice and smooth!! I was a little scared!! But my piercer Tara!! Was amazing!! She was cool!! I like her Vibe!!! The whole staff and vibe here was pretty dope. Kyle did ab excellent job with my sister and Is matching tats, so much so that my friend and his buddy ended up getting tatted too. And not to forget Kimmy is the sweetest thing! She was so calming and comforting whilst giving me my dermal piercing! And both were very informative about our services. I came here to get my nose pierced by Tara! She did such an amazing job. She explained everything she was doing and kept me very calm too. I went to get a daith piercing due to chronic migraines and Kimmy did my piercing. She explained the whole process to me before she even started and even explained to me what she was doing as she was piercing my ear! She then showed me the best way to clean it. I got my conch pierced by Tara and OMG I was completely in love, with Tara AND my piercing. since I wear a headscarf she made sure that nobody could come in or see, she talked to me and explained everything, and made me very comfortable before the piercing. she made is quick and easy. totally recommend 10/10

Alex is very friendly, charismatic, and obviously enjoys what he does. His work and the other staffs work speaks for itself. Kimmy pierced my medusa today; she was awesome, i had already had my medusa pierced one time, incorrectly, and she had made sure to look at all angles and ask me questions about how it felt before and after. Very sweet service, very comfortable and she was very accommodating. ALSO, the placement of the piercing and the way it sits is amazing and so much better than the first time i had gotten it done. I just feel like the way Kimmy pierced it is going to be so much better, it already is!

Definitely go to Kimmy for your piercings! I had my nose pierced previously but had to take the piercing out for a surgery and the hole closed up. Kimmy re pierced it and even with the scar tissue from the previous piercing, it’s healed so well. She’s super nice and helpful and you can tell she cares for her clients!

The main piercer here is a joke. Septum piercings are obviously popular and as with any piercing you need steady and capable hands. Unfortunately, like so many unfortunate souls, I came across a piercer who was incapable.First mistake: The first time she pierced my nose (Yes, you read correctly, the first time), she pierced it way too low. It hurt like hell and my eyes opened up like Niagara Falls. It was clear that she messed up. And when I looked at the mirror, it was crooked and low.Second mistake: I cant believe I let her pierce me again, but I allowed her the opportunity to correct it. And what did she do? She made a low piercing even lower. So low, that it was close to grazing my upper lip.Third mistake: Its clear that SHE doesnt know what the hell shes doing when it comes to septums. Tried to downplay my experience as if my nose might not be able to hold the septum, when it was clear that she was incompetent.I went home and shined a light on the two small holes from where I was pierced. It was clear that she didnt even put the septum tool in my nose properly. She literally pierced the tip of my nose twice. I went to a true professional this weekend and it was smooth. No tears, hardly any pain and the jewelry was much nicer. Go to this location if you want someone to play with your nose.

I got my septum pierced by Willow last week Monday and everything turned out perfectly. After watching a million septum piercing videos on YouTube, I realized that a lot of things can go wrong if the piercer doesnt know what he or she is doing. Fortunately, that is NOT the case with Willow. She definitely knows what shes doing. Willow was friendly and very informative.

Very detailed and extremely clean, very professional, you wouldn’t be disappointed, they care for all your needs and really listen to you . They do great work , I absolutely adore Tara she did my piercing and made me feel so safe . She did a wonderful job 🥰✨✨♥️

I previously got my nose pierced with a gun and it closed cause of scar tissue when I was replacing the stud. Kimmy pierced my nose with a needle which I was super nervous about but it actually hurt a lot less than a gun and I was in and out in 5 minutes! She did a fantastic job and she was super sweet. I’d go to her each time! :)

Alex was amazing. This was my first time getting a tattoo and it was a big one. I was extremely nervous, but Alex really helped me calm down and hes actually a funny guy. Highly recommend this place, good prices and good staff. Trust me, you wont regret it !!

The piercer who’s name is Rico is amazinggg. Super nice, gives great advice, affordable, and he makes your nerves disappear. I appreciate how quick and easy it is to make an appointment. I got my tragus pierced today and it was a good experience! Everyone was nice, it was a quick procedure, and it wasn’t expensive. I was able to walk in and get it done right away. Willow was my piercer and she was informative and friendly.

Came here recently for a couple of piercings. Had Rico as my piercer and gave me two sets of lobe piercings. My first o.g. piercings were really uneven from when I was a lil baby. He was able to work his magic and space out the additional piercings in a way that added harmony to my big ears. Hes super nice to talk to and eased any nerves I had. Protect him!!!!!!

Got my septum and nostril done by kimmy! She talks you through it and reassures you so everything will be fine, the piercings were easy and practically painless I will definitely be going back ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I have gotten two tattoos done. One by Danny on my inner bottom lip which is going on almost one year no fading. Simple and beautifully done. My second one was a skin piece done by Alex. Alex sketched an evergreen tree. He even suggested different things to incorporate in it. We put it on the left side of my ribs. It was uncomfortable, in an hour he did a beautiful job. It was everything I asked for. After about 2 weeks it healed with no scarring. Thank you guys!!! Will come back for more.

To say this was overpriced is a literal UNDERSTATEMENT. I got 3 ear piercings and this man charged me $110, I cannot fathom how he even got that number. That’s just the first thing. He told me that I can come in in 15 minutes. Once I got there he made me wait about 20 minutes to then tell me it was a TWO HOUR WAIT. This man was very unprofessional and didn’t even seem to know what he was doing. He kept pulling and pinching my ear and made it super uncomfortable. I never knew a regular ear piercing could hurt that much.

I got my first tattoo there today and was scared cause I’m a wuss but the staff were so nice, the tattoo artist (Alex, I believe) was so kind and the overall vibe really helped me to feel more calm. I love my tattoo so so much!!! If I ever get another one I know where to go now !!

I love this place rob was my tattoo artist and he was an amazing person, he was so nice and kind. It was my first tattoo and he really helped me through it. I loved this place it was so clean and it was a very good first experience much love to everyone there especially the dog burger.

I came here about a month ago and got two name tattoos on each wrist. The people who work here are very friendly and the place itself is clean and welcoming. I love the style of the letters and I am very happy with my first tattoo. However, the letters of the second one definitely arent lined up and it makes the whole tattoo look off and slanted. I emailed them about this and they were very helpful in reassuring me and saying I could come in if I felt something was wrong. So, I went back and the girl I spoke to told me it looks straight to her and because its on the wrist its not going to be perfect. I do understand that different parts of the body are going to produce different results and I know I cant expect perfection, but I just wish the letters were closer to lining up straight. There is no scenario or way to move my wrist that will result in all the letters lining up. I would recommend them based on their artistic ability, but my advice to anyone going for a tattoo would be to pay extra attention to the placement because once its done, theres no fixing it.

I would recommend this place to anyone. Rob has done some work here for me a few times. Started with a touch up on a gargoyle since....Ive been back for a skull on my forearm, an add on to my gargoyle and recently an hour glass on the back of my fore arm. Theyre well priced and do very good work. Ill be going back again soon to have my sleeve finished by the summer.

Terrible work by Danny . His work on my arm was described by another artist as “did you get this done at a party or something” . I was embarrassed . It was basic easy tribal work on left arm and it looked so bad i had to have it touched up and added on. Overcharged me and it was on a sunday where he said he spends time with his family which is fine and all but i came on a day i had off and it was a few hour labor work. He could have said come on a weekday instead of rushing the job . Sorry bad experience never again.

Just got tattoo done on my forearm by Danny. best place to get tattoo becz it was fast as they do Walk-ins and cash only. Cash-only is never easy untill Artist are too good at wht they do. Hey yall, i just had to make this review because after i got my septum piercing, i feel like a baddie. but anyways because of corona my old piercing shop doesnt allow anything under the mask. cuz of that i had to look for another store, while i was looking online i was like “damn this store got good ratings lets go there”. i just wanna say tara is a absolute sweetheart and i LOVE my septum. its so cute and i feel amazing. if you got any questions she will gladly answer them! this shop makes you feel at home. im definitely coming back to get some ear piercings

Nice scenery! Went for a consultation & was told to call the artist whom wasnt there & never got a call back. Eventually went somewhere closer but overall staff was kind!

Tara, the piercer, was so courteous and gentle. Very professional, but made my experience very warm and welcoming.

This will be my tattoo shop too go too anytime I want any type of ink. Everybody there is super talented and really nice, I’ve been more then happy when I leave this place each time. I’ve been too Wilkie a few times he’s very light handed and his ideas are creative af. He’s very accomdating as well. I recommend this place very much

The piercer tara is seriously rude, she doesn’t even know how to do piercings safely i wouldn’t ask for tara at all.
