So far, working with Sharon on my back piece has been a wonderful experience. This shop is clean while still feeling comfortable and expressive. The artists are incredibly talented and obviously take a lot of pride in their work.

Jim is my 2nd (and last) stop for removal of a terrible tattoo. I came to him after getting the run around elsewhere. Jim is extremely knowledgeable and has taken time to test shot areas that were questionable due to white lining. His pricing is very fair, he is always ready at appointment times, and is always a pleasure to sit with. I will never go elsewhere!

Desiree Mattivi is such a wonderful person. She helped me cover up a tattoo that I had negative memories tied to and now I have the most beautiful botanic piece that surpassed all of my hope with this cover up. I get compliments ALL THE TIME on this tattoo along with the butterfly she did on my elbow. Seriously my two favorite tattoos that I have by a long shot. Thanks so much for providing such a comfortable and welcoming space to get the most beautiful tattoos. I adore you and appreciate you!!

Black Sage Studio is one of the best tattoo studios Ive ever been to! The space was super clean and had a chill vibe to it. My artist, Desi, made me feel so comfortable and worked with me through the entire process to ensure that I was happy. It felt like hanging out with a gal pal all day listening to some jams, singing along, and chatting. During the tattoo, other artists popped in to see what she was working on and offer their words of encouragement. It is a wonderful, positive environment to be tattooed in. I could gush about Desis talent for hours but you really just need to go to her Instagram. I loved my experience here and cant wait to go back for my next session!

Jim is a total pro at laser tattoo removal! He throughly understands the process and technology, and keeps the specifics of each ink removal situation in mind so that the removal is as safe and effective as possible. I am thrilled with the quality Ive seen from the progress of my tattoo removal, and I highly recommend that anyone with the need to get a tattoo removed or lightened prior to a cover up to go see Jim.

Desiree is an absolutely fabulous tattoo artist. She has done the bulk of my tattoos and I can’t wait to get more. The hyper realistic botanical work I got done is out of this world. She’s so sweet and knowledgeable, every experience with her is wonderful. I can’t wait to get more done in the future. She’s made me love my body so much more. The space is welcoming and cosy and tall the artists are so supportive of each other. I feel safe here and the views are breathtaking. I can’t recommend her and Back Sage enough!!!!

My husband and I have had some removal done and five tattoos over numerous sessions. When you find a place like Black Sage Studio that is so welcoming and professional you just keep going back. We drove from Texas because of the awesome, humble artists who really made us feel like we were making friends. All of this on top of the first rate talent and skill. We will be back! Melis is our lady!

Sharon was wonderful to work with. She did a great job designing my tatoo given what I was looking for and added more color at the end when she noticed it needed more to make it pop.

This studio is immaculate with cleanliness. Jim is very comforting, kind, non-judgmental, and professional. He walks you through the whole process and follows protective guidelines. HIGHLY recommend.

Had a piece done yesterday by Cody Awn- he is such a dope artist. He incorporated multiple sizes of needles for different detailed elements and was pretty gentle even with some dark shaded areas. The studio is in a gorgeous location and is clean and a nice layout with the individual rooms. Wish I found this place sooner- but already booked my next session 😃

Absolutely love this studio, best group of artists in Colorado in my mind. Everyone is awesome and make your sessions memorable. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, there are so many different styles between artists and all of the work is amazing! Top notch business and super duper clean too. Do yourself a favor and TREAT YO SELF!

Have to start by saying I won an Instagram contest (didn’t think that was a thing, either!). I was flown out to Evergreen and treated like a celebrity. I was guided through the process by Melissa and Sharon, her apprentice, and sat for 7.5 hours that I wish would have lasted another day. It was such a great experience, and I will gladly pay my own way to get back out there for more gorgeous ink! You will be very happy if you make an appointment at Black Sage! Cheers!

Black Sage Studio is a great place to get a tattoo. The shop is very clean. Everyone is friendly and professional. I have been going to Sharon Healy for my tattoos and she has done an amazing job with attention to detail and has created beautiful pieces. I cherish each one. Doesn’t get any better than this place!

I have no intentions of getting tattooed anywhere else again. I absolutely love Black Sage. Beautiful location, studio design is awesome and the talent level of the artists is incredible! I have worked with Cody Awn for a few years now and I hope to never work with another artist! He is incredibly talented, creative and just a solid dude to boot! Our sessions fly by because he is so personable and easy going! I have had to push/reschedule on him in the past and he his only concerns where my and my familys well being nothing else. I recommend Black Sage to anyone and everyone looking to get ink!

Melissa is an exceptional artist & the most lovely human. Her studio is top-notch, always clean, smells good, is inviting & each artist has their own space with a door, this is brilliant. I love that there is a laser removal service to lighten up old tattoos for coverups; this was crucial for my piece. I am grateful for the hours shared with Melissa & not only will I be back, I refer everyone to her studio because if Melissa is not available, all the artists are as passionate about their work as Melissa & do amazing work as well. I know with full confidence anyone that steps into this studio will enjoy their experience as much as I did. Peace!

I cannot recommend this studio highly enough. When you walk in youre greeted with a clean, professional, and welcoming atmosphere. There are private spaces for each artist/client, but the shop maintains a wonderfully collaborative environment where the artists exchange opinions and get input from one another about placement, flow, etc so the clients get nothing short of an amazing tattoo. Ive had the pleasure of working with Melissa for a sleeve and a hand piece. She absolutely radiates good vibes and creative energy. She has always been very communicative, flexible with scheduling, and has done a masterful job of turning my concepts into bold and beautiful works of art. Ive had truly wonderful experiences at this top notch establishment and will undoubtedly be returning in the future.

Incredible shop and home to some of the best artists around. Melis is wonderful and makes me feel more comfortable during my tattoo than any other artist Ive been to. Her attention to detail is superb and one thing I especially appreciate is her honesty about whether an idea will work properly or not. Some artists will just take your money and tattoo anything but she is truly about the craft and creating a beautiful one of a kind piece. I could go on for awhile but seriously this shop is top tier and if youre considering any shop I HIGHLY recommend Black Sage Studio. I will definitely be back.

Ive had a few laser removal sessions with Jim. Firstly, the process seems to be coming along great and about as fast as he described. But really, I wanted to write a review just complimenting Jim. Hes such a great guy to have this process done with. Ive had to move a couple appointments due to illness or whatever and hes always so accommodating. Hes explained the process well, the environment is clean, its quick...just five stars all around. You guys are awesome and thank you!

Jim is awesome! Super professional and experienced. Were working through a large, challenging piece. Ive heard horror stories from other folks getting tattoos removed and its not been like that at Black Sage. Keeping the integrity of the skin is important to me since Im hoping to get a cover-up. Could not recommend Jim more!

Jim is the only person I would trust with removing my tattoo. He is extremely knowledgeable and professional, his priority is to make the process as efficient as possible. Cody Awn is by far the best artist I have ever worked with, & I have worked with quite a few. Cody is insanely talented artistically because of his creativity, different styles he is able to achieve beautifully, beautiful placement which flows and fits the body perfectly, & originality you will never see a tattoo by him on anyone else. He truly does make your body a canvas which has always been my goal with the tattoo work I get. Not only is Cody an amazing artist, he is amazing to work with because of his great personality, great conversation which can be very hard to find in the industry & the ability to listen to what you want and make it even better than what you were in-visioning. After my many great experiences with Cody its hard for me to even want to get tattooed by anyone else. I have plenty of work from different artists and Cody has always been the first one I recommended and send people too because he will never disappoint.

Nathan Adler has been wonderful to work with. His art work and tattoo skills are the best in Colorado. The shop is in a beautiful location. And every other artist there has been very respectful. The work that I personally see from other artists in the shop is always great quality.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! Black Sage is THE BEST tattoo shop Ive seen or stepped foot into. Bonus that its located in a beautiful area in the foothills of Colorado. Its clean and bright, the artists artwork on the walls are fantastic, and each and every artist is extremely professional and super friendly. I have seen all of their work, they all have different styles, and their talent is absolutely top-notch. Ive been going to the shop since Aug. 2021 as Cody Awn has been tattooing a full color, full sleeve for me. The style I chose for my sleeve doesnt necessarily fit perfectly into the style that Cody typically does, but hes taken all of my ideas and implemented them into his own design. His linework, colorwork, placement, light handedness...all are what make him incredibly talented and great to work with. I also had no hesitation entrusting him to tattoo a tribute tattoo on my 18-year-old daughter for her first tattoo!

From the moment you walk in to this studio, you feel very welcome. I had a few tattoos done by Sharon, and couldnt be happier. Sharon is kind, and patient, and an amazing artist. The owner of the studio, Melis is so friendly and caring as well. The general vibe of this shop is beautiful, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting some quality art.

Ive had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Melissa as well as had removal sessions with Jim. Everyone in this studio is so welcoming and the space is pristine. Even if you dont live near Evergreen it is absolutely worth the drive.

They are rude and inconsiderate! The women called me names after I left thinking I couldnt hear her! You are not the only studio and for sure dont do a stellar job! I was so polite to your receptionist and she acted like they didnt need the business! DONT Go HERE!

Jim is a true pro, very knowledgeable in what he does and willing to answer any and all questions! The process is sanitary, and made to be as comfortable as possible given the procedure. Jim does a great job of explaining what hes going to do and checks in regularly. Highly recommend!

Had my first tattoo session yesterday with Melissa and I was not disappointed at all! She created such beautiful piece for me. She is quick, clean, professional and humble!! The shop is absolutely beautiful as well!

I have several tattoos from Melissa and I still love them every day. I have so many more dreams for tattoos and no longer live near her but pretty much dont want anybody else to ever tattoo me again. One day I will be back for more work from my all time favorite artist.
