Hunter does amazing work! Ive been getting ink done with him for a couple of years now! Not only is his work amazing, but he is an amazing person! Always friendly, always great conversation, great music playing. The studio is always clean! I have him my ideas and he came up with some freaking awesome norse/viking stuff to sleeve me up with! Very clean work! 10 out of 10 I highly recommend! Cant wait to start on my other arm!

Was easy to book and pay. Shop was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Hunter has a pleasant personality that makes sitting there for a couple of hours enjoyable. Most importantly the quality of my tattoo was top notch and the price was very reasonable.

Hunter did nothing short of an AMAZING job on my tattoos. At first, I was hesitant to get a tattoo with an allergy. However, Hunter did research along with me to find the best ink/needle combo. Hunter used a vegan/metal free ink and I am SO happy with the results. Upon walking into his new shop I was amazed how nice it turned out. Hunter takes pride in his work, and I completely understand why. He is SO talented and willing to work with you. I highly recommend scheduling with Hunter. He is professional, kind, and very knowledgeable.

When I first contacted the shop, I didn’t have much more than an abstract idea of what I wanted. Hunter took my idea and designed it even better than I could have imagined! When he showed me what he drew up, I instantly loved it! He’s extremely professional, talented, and dedicated to his art. The shop is comfortable and clean, I felt right at home there. Once again!Up North tattoo killed it!Hunter gave me my first tattoo with this shop and today for a quick walk in, Brad gave me my second.The hospitality, generosity, the overall atmosphere of their building is second to none!For never meeting Brad before, he was a super cool guy. We were able to carry out conversations like we had been friends for awhile!Awesome new artist to have in the Fergus falls area for sure!!!During my session the owner/artist Hunter Pettengill stopped in to check on his shop and do whatever he had to do. During this time, he took time out of his day to stop and have a conversation with me, as he remembered me by name from our last session. That’s a pretty awesome feeling to be remembered by name out of hundreds of clients!With that quick and simple interaction we scheduled a pretty a big piece I’ve had on my brain for awhile!I’ve always been on the fence about which shop and artist here in Fergus is my preferred go to, and well after today and based on previous outreaches of the business asking me how I’m doing, if I’d like to come in, how my previous tattoos look, and so on. ( I have never seen that from the other shops)I’ve definitely made the decision to designate Up North Tattoo as my go to shop, and you should too!!!

I had a wonderful experience here for my first tattoo. Such beautiful work by Hunter Pettingill, a good friend of mine. Its made me stall my tattoo schedule because its such stunning work, and I got it at a very good, transitional period in my life, I wont get another tattoo until I improve enough to earn another... And I wont get another from anyone but Hunter, at Up North Tattoo. He has great potential, definitely an artist to look for.

Up north is a beautiful shop with amazing atmosphere. The Artist Hunter is awesome and has so much attention to detail. He went ham on my arm almost 7 hours now and I’m in love. If you are looking for a place you can truly trust to bring your vision to life this is the place!!!! Worked with Hunter on a very important tattoo for my daughter who passed. He was incredibly professional and super friendly. We switched up the design a little and I loved that he was willing to work with me on what I wanted without making me feel like I was too picky! Couldn’t recommend better!

The quality is amazing and well worth it. Artist Hunter does amazing work. Would definitely reccomend if youre looking for a tattoo and dont want to drive too far. Will be going back for alot more. They also have a font book so you can pick it out exactly as you want it.

Tayana did an amazing job on my tattoo! So nice to have amazing artists right in our town! I sent an example of what I wanted and where and it turned out perfect and they were able to work around my schedule as well! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Hunter has done about three tattoos for me now and he’s done outstanding work on all three. I’m going to keep going back to him. The shop is well kept and has this comfortable feel to it. Almost like you are at home.

Hunter keeps the most positive vibes. Getting my first tattoo there was incredible. For sure recommend, especially those black and gray inks.

Reached out on Facebook regarding a tattoo, they told me they were booked out til late may, however told me they do walk-ins on Saturday. I travel for work and never know when Im leaving, therfore its impossible to schedule an appointment when every place in the area is booked out for over a month. They opened at 11 and I went in at about 1pm, when I got there I was told they werent doing any more walk-ins. If I would have known they only took walk ins for the first 2 hours I wouldve gone to Fargo and tried to get in elsewhere, now its 2 pm and going to be impossible getting in anywhere today. have to say that the guy working was apologetic and very nice. However still VERY disappointing. Leaving 3 stars because Im understanding, however probably wont be trying again.

I have had 4 tattoos and one cover up done, Hunter is meticulous about his work and does an amazing job! Highly recommend!

After 7 years my gf and i decided to do something crazy. So we got matching tattoos. Up North Tattoo had a special for simple design. Arriving service was friendly and paperwork was handed out right away to get the process started. Didnt take long before we where up. 30 mins later me and my gf where pumped for this connection thank you!

Honestly, I had an appointment here set up for over a month and on the day of my appointment the artist was wildly unprepared and didnt even have a rendering ready for me. I had to wait over 3 hrs and at that point the rendering looked nothing like what I wanted even though I had a clear sketch given to him and all he needed to do was clean up the line work. It looked rough. It took him so long to do the renderings and they looked like he grabbed them from Pintrest.

I always enjoy my visits to see Hunter and Tayana! Hunter has been working with me on my sleeve for quite some time now and I’ve pretty much let him do whatever he wants and he’s never disappointed me!

I love these people, their shop, and all their artworks!! They do excellent work, pretty flexible, and just all around good people! I’ve really enjoyed being able to see how much this business has grown and I am looking forward to seeing them grow more and more!! Highly recommended to everyone!!

Ive been going here since they opened and got most of my sleeve finished. All 3 of their current artists have gave ink, extremely happy with the out comes.

Absolutely the best experience ever. The atmosphere, the feeling of peace. The whole experience is a calming and relaxing.I would recommend anyone the artists that work there. Their work is exemplary!

Completely unprofessional and untimely in preparation for my tattoo. Did not ask me any details such as placement, size, or meaning of content about my tattoo until the day of the appointment, which had been made a full month prior. A friend left a bad review, rightfully so. Then the owner proceeded to berate me for said review, even though I was not the individual who left it. We put 60 dollars down to hold a spot for me and two friends to get matching tattoos a month in advance. They did not ask any questions about our tattoo, they were so lazy they took our quickly done simple line work and assumed it was good enough to be used for our actual tattoo, then when we wanted the line work cleaned up they gave us a totally different rendering that did not include any aspects from our original sketch.And just for the record we did find a quality artist that would jam those three flowers into a “3x1” on our ribs. In the Facebook message the owner says that our ideas were not possible but we got the tattoos we wanted done on the same day our appointment was supposed to be by one of their competitors. With our new artist we got a rendering in less than 30 min and they did each of our tattoos on the same day in less than 45 min. Also in regards to the fakebook messages, we decided not to work with Up North Tattoo, not the other way around. Which was the best decision I ever made.
