Eternal Ink Tattoo & Body Piercing

My girlfriend drove 5 hours to come here because it was where she got her other tattoos and had a pleasant time, that was not the case this time. Firstly they didnt even give her the tattoo she wanted, she showed the receptionist the photo and then was told to pick a different one off google photos, the artist was complaining throughout the tattoo about how she came in late, even though its because it took the receptionist around 3 hours to print the stencil. All of that would be fine if the tattoo was good but its mediocre at best and disappointing at worst. Details on the wing are missing and the line work is inconsistent. Keep in mind she only got one wing and they wanted to charge her $1000 for a mediocre tattoo before she haggled the price down to $650. If you want to have a positive experience avoid this shop.

Me and my bestfriend went in and the atmosphere was great! We both got two tattoos each and the artist Chucky did example what we wanting. Would definitely go back!

Came here to get a ring for a healed helix piercing and to also get my 3rd holes pierced. all was well until i realized that there was some unclean practices being done with the piercer, i was too nervous to speak up and i trusted they knew what they were doing. turns out 2 days later my helix is agitated from a reaction from cheap jewelry that was WAY too tight and thick (the jewelry came out of a case of tons of random hoops) and my 3rds are so infected i am at URGENT CARE to get antibiotics. i went to a different place to get them looked at today and they were concerned. the bars and the top piece of the jewelry on my 3rds were too small/short, so small they were starting to get embedded from just 2 days and the back of my ears are bruised and hot to touch. my helix also has a bump from the cheap jewelry. i clean all of my piercings 3x a day so i know this isn’t me. i do not recommend.

Great service, everyone was very nice. Tattoo looks amazing can’t wait for the rest of it to be completed. Great people can’t wait to go back

Place smells like an old garage ; people are very unprofessional ; piercing got infected on the 2nd day and blew up like a balloon ; I have several piercings and have never experienced this before , I am certain the piercer isn’t cleaning properly and sterilizing appropriately.Save yourself pain and money and drive 30 mins to Mad Ethel’s

I see some bad reviews on here but I got a nose stud done here and it was a great experience! My piercer was super nice and very quick with it

Came in on a Friday afternoon as a walk-in and was helped immediately, paper work process was easy and quick and the environment was clean and organized. The guy who did my piercing (I’m bad with names so I unfortunately forgot) was quick and efficient and walked me through exactly what he was doing. My only complaint was that I wasn’t offered the opportunity to look at the marks he made before he did the actual piercing, but the piercing came out perfect so not a huge issue in my opinion. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Eternal ink and will definitely keep them in mind for future piercings!

This was one of the best experiences for something new. They did an amazing job explaining every step and made sure I knew what was going to happen. I had the pleasure of meeting artist Dave. He did an amazing job on my tattoos and comforted me through. I would recommend this to anyone thinking of getting a tattoo or wants to get another one!

I got my first non-traditional ear piercing today at External Ink - a very feared cartilage piercing- and my piercer, Jon did a super fantastic job with it! It didnt hurt more than a second! It was easier than a flu shot, and I love the placement of it. Jon gave super detailed verbal directions for caring for my piercing, as well as a written set of instructions (because who actually remembers directions that are given out loud). Overall I was extremely pleased with my experience, and I will be sure to come back for more tiny holes in my body!

Manager super rude and condescending. I went in just to get pricing on a tattoo and she talked down to me and was extremely disrespectful. I came in before and got a tattoo and the artist was so nice but this place has gone downhill fast. I’d suggest avoiding.

Attempted to use this place for my first tattoo, and got nothing but bad vibes from it. Roberta was the most unprofessional person I have ever encountered.Initially she refused to give me back my deposit when I told her I didnt feel comfortable with the tattoo artist, then made the comment that I must treat my patients rudely (because I was wearing scrubs), but she ultimately gave me back my deposit.The staff was cold, crude, and unprofessional in my opinion. Avoid this place like the plague.

Was told about this place through a friend. I came in and everything is super clean everything is super organized and very laid out well. I got one chest tattoo from them. I got my tattoo done by Jon which did an amazing job. The lines are super clean nothing is blotchy, and he did it very fast. It cost $200 which may seem a bit high but for the quality speed and precision that they give you it is so very worth it. I will definitely be coming back and adding more photos of the tattoos I’ve gone from them. Definitely check this place out if you were looking for Great tattoos.

I love this place!! I’ve gotten two tattoos from this place and both of them were exactly what I wanted:) The staff is so nice and helped my friends and I get the perfect tattoo. The process was really quick and we didn’t have to wait at all! Gerald has done both of my tattoos and I will continue to go to him because they are always perfect if not better:) He is hilarious and makes you feel very comfortable! If you’re like me and you like small tattoos with thin lines definitely go here!! I’ll be back for another very soon:))

Jerry’s a great tattoo artist has been doing it for many years. He will also take advantage of you and charge you a third+ more of what anywhere else I went will. Also remember he says the tips calculated in the tattoo which I’ve never heard before in my life. So guess you don’t need to tip him! Especially when I was leaving 100’s. Went to him multiple times in a week and now that I’ve asked other shops what they would charge I’ve found out his prices are 40% higher on average. For simple work. Guy at the front desk his step son is cool, polite and goes the extra mile for your tattoo stencil though.

Michelle gave me my tattoo! She had to cover a difficult scar and I must say you can’t even tell now. My tattoo looks beautiful. I liked it so much that I went back for a cover up tattoo and it also turned out well. She took my ideas and made them even better. She also is great at just drawing freehand.My experience with her overall was wonderful. I’ll definitely go back again sometime.I also met other employees and artists and everyone there is really cool!I definitely recommend them !

Excellent service with an extremely talented artist and a amazing and knowledgeable piercing person. They both make you feel like theyve known you all your life just as soon as you walk thru the door. That is (in my opinion) an AMAZING thing because youll stay relaxed during your sessions. Matter of fact, I also, had piercings done that day (which wasnt a plan when I first walked in. Was planning on going back a few days later.) after my tat was done because I didnt stay all tensed up during the 2 hour tat session. Still had that peaceful, at ease feeling, type of energy by the time I was done with everything and went home!!! Got my first tattoo the other day. Just a simple cross on my left forearm. Staff was great and very helpful getting me what I wanted and the size I wanted. I did not catch the artists name. He was an older gentleman, heavyset, bike type. None of that mattered though. He was very professional and told me step by step what he was doing and why. Afterwards was very helpful with information on cleaning and care. I’m already planning my next tattoo and will definitely be coming back here.

Never left a Google review in my life, but this was so unbelievably bad.I came to get help putting jewelry back into a couple existing piercings & it was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a tattoo/piercing shop. I came in ~3yrs ago for the same thing & had a good experience then, so I assumed it’d be the same. I was very wrong.They charged me $10. Not that that breaks the bank, but I was taken aback bc I’d never been asked to pay for help w jewelry before. But no big deal, even tipped $3.This woman gave all signs that she absolutely did not know what she was doing. I brought in 3 simple labret bars. When she learned that 2 of them were PIN labrets, she sighed and said “great” as if i was burdening her. You’d think a trained piercer would’ve put pin labrets in before.They went in each nostril. I have a high-ish piercing on each side, not an actual “high nostril piercing,” but high enough that I couldn’t do it myself. She literally said: “how am I supposed to do this?” and “I’ve never done this before.” That’s gotta be the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever heard from someone about to provide me a service. I tried to back out with “if you can’t do it, it’s fine, I’ll just figure it out,” & she insisted. You’re saying to my face that you don’t know what you’re doing & you’re gonna do it anyway? I should’ve just gotten up & left but in the moment I really didn’t feel like I could leave.When she opened the baggie she instantly started dropping the jewelry all over the counter as if she’d never held small pieces of jewelry in her life, even though that’s literally her job.She handled me so roughly, grabbing me by the chin & jerking my head to the side, going at my nose like she was trying to vaccinate a kitten, panting directly in my face. She couldn’t find the hole for the life of her and kept insisting that it closed. The piercings had only been out of my nose for ~1hr and the holes were about 2months old — even I knew there was no way they were closed. She eventually got it through, but not without tearing up the healing tissue through all her rough prodding.She absolutely could not find the hole on the other side. She tried to put a needle through to see if she could find it & spent a good minute attempting to FORCE through my nose, grunting — she was pushing THAT hard and it wasn’t poking through, even if it HAD been closed up. Her needle was way too dull. She gave up, said it was closed, then changed her mind and insisted she try again (once more I tried to back out and say I could handle it myself). She went back to pushing as hard as she could before I felt it POP through & I instantly knew it was wrong. SHE PUT A COMPLETELY. NEW. HOLE. IN MY NOSE. I felt like crying. It went through the upper, harder cartilage where I hadn’t been pierced in the first place. She says “let me check and make sure I got it through the right spot” — you’re telling me you didn’t already KNOW? You were just taking a shot in the dark? No damn way. She looks and goes “nuh-uh, I didn’t,” pulls out and says “yep, it’s closed,” after, once again, CASUALLY MAKING A COMPLETELY NEW HOLE IN MY NOSE. She couldn’t even find the right angle to put the needle through. She roughly wipes the blood off my nose (way too much blood) w a dry paper towel and sends me off. As soon as I got into the car I burst into tears. I just felt so completely unheard and violated. I even tipped her. All for what? A new, irresponsibly incorrect hole in my nose?I decided to just go back to the original place I’d gotten the piercings which I should’ve done in the first place, but it was a 45min trek versus Eternal which was 5min from my home and I assumed was safe.My original piercer slipped through the *actual* hole with complete ease and put the jewelry in in seconds. Like butter. I felt nothing. Wasn’t closed up at all. Shocker.Idk what happened between the last time I went here & this time, but these people don’t know what the hell they’re doing. Go to Hillsborough Street near NCSU instead. Best piercing experience I’ve ever had vs. the worst at Eternal.

I received a cover up/re-work by Loni. She was very personable, explained the process, and over exceeded my expectations. I would recommend her and I plan to come back for my next tattoo!

Piecer seemed to be in a rush. i did not see him wash his hands or change his gloves in between clients. additionally, he did not ask if i liked the placement or ask if i liked the jewelry he used. he did not ask about skin sensitivity or nickel allergies. he rushed through how to properly clean and do aftercare. his hands smelled like cigarettes and i am very worried about infection as i did not see him sterilize anything. additionally, i have incredibly sensitive skin, and am worried he did not use jewelry made of medical grade steel, as i did not have the option to choose the jewelry. i DO NOT recommend this shop, find somewhere else.

I went there as a walk-in and had John do my second lobe piercing. He was very fast and efficient, professional, and calming. Definitely made it a great experience and answered any questions that I had. Really great place! Definitely coming back for my other piercings!

I have 2 piercings and a tattoo done at eternal ink over the years and have always been super happy! Roberta is the best with piercings and I have never had issues with any of her piercings. I highly recommend her! Dave did a supernatural tattoo for me and my two friends about 5 years ago and they turned out perfectly! Everyone there is always super friendly!

I got my first tattoo here and had a great experience! I am not a fan of needles so I was slightly anxious about that, but the artist Michelle was so awesome I barely even thought about it! I would absolutely recommend Eternal Ink and specifically Michelle, although Im sure all of the artists here are just as great as she is!

I walked in for a couple of piercings (upper lobe and helix) and was greeted by friendly and polite staff. The piercings were great. It was done quickly and pretty much painlessly, and I Iove the jewelry that came with them. Would definitely recommend.

Today, we took my 8 year old daughter to get her ears pierced for her birthday. We walked in and immediately noticed how clean and neat everything was. Roberta was great - she greeted us, reviewed all the paperwork and things we needed to know. Everything was sterile and VERY professional. She reviewed how to take care of my daughters ears once we get home and let us know to come back if we have any troubles. She does everything according to State Laws. Do not go to the mall - they are not held by any standards and their methods are not approved.I recommend Eternal Ink to anyone who wants piercing. Awesome!!

I highly recommend Eternal Ink tattoo! I’ve been coming here for years. Jon does my piercings and Michelle does my tattoos. The staff (Jon, Jerry, Michelle, & John) are all friendly, outgoing, welcoming, very knowledgeable about their work etc. Every piercing I have has all be done by Jon. (2 helix, forward helix, snug, rook, tragus, tongue, nipples, Christina, VCH, lip, nose & navel). All healed wonderfully, no rejection or complications. I was thoroughly instructed on aftercare for each and every piercing along with an aftercare guide on paper. Everything was sanitized, packaged needles are always shown to me and opened in front of me before use, he’s always been very quick and precise with all of my piercings.Michelle is my go-to tattoo artist (they’re all amazing artists btw). Michelle is very patient with my requests and she’s very understanding. I have a handful of tattoos done by Michelle at which are all very clean, great line work & lettering, excellent healing, she’s light handed, very precise and the list goes on.I’ve highly recommend coming here for both tattoos and piercings . My friend and I went in with very simple tattoo requests. We paid way more than they were worth, and he even slipped and put a line where there shouldn’t have been. Left a review on their Facebook page and the artist was EXTREMELY rude and even tried to attack me personally saying I have a “selfish generation z way of thinking”.

No one in the shop, not even the piercer, wore a mask. Very worrisome. He marked and pierced my nose way too quick and didn’t even ask if I liked the placement before piercing it. Additionally, he gave no warning before putting the needle through. Don’t recommend.

I came here on vacation and my mom and I decided to get our nose pierced. Roberta did an amazing job!! I had an awful nose piercing experience years ago so I was pretty nervous but she explained everything and was so quick it was almost painless. I wish I lived closer so all my future tattoos and piercings could be done here. Thank you Roberta !!

The workers are so rude! Went for my first tattoo and wasnt really sure what I wanted. I was asking some questions and trying to figure it out. They were mad I was disrupting their pool game and had zero patience. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

They did my 2nd tattoo and I will be going back to get another tattoo. Great group of people, friendly, kind and positive. I felt totally comfortable around the group. Will be seeing them soon. I recommend them to anyone!!!!

Extremely clean place, helpful staff both over the phone and in the shop. Got my septum pierced and it was a fun time. Definitely plan on going back.

I will not go anywhere else to get a tattoo. If you want to work with a great artist and get an excellent tattoo, this is the place. Dave was fantastic. Ive gotten 3 tattoos from him and have absolutely loved all of them.

I got my nose and second holes pierced. I did get dizzy and they made sure I was alright before getting back up. Pretty chill environment, love that its family owned. Definitely would come back.

Went in as a walk in to get a tattoo on my hand. There was only one artist there Michelle, she acted like it was a problem to want a color tattoo let alone a tattoo period. Seemed miserable to be there and had a terrible unprofessional attitude. Would ask for anyone but her if you go there.

Been knowing Jerry for 15+ years. Only did 1 many years ago but he takes pride in his work. So if looking for the best go to him or take his referral knowing you got peace of mind with a permanent new body mark

The piercer was rude and rushed a lot. He marked the piercing and went right into piercing it instead of letting me see the spot. You should be showing the customer the placement before piercing! Especially since its on the face!

Me and my friends got piercings there. Understaffed, pricey, unsanitary, and gave no aftercare instructions. My friend even passed out and they didn’t even have water to give her. Kind of a ridiculous place

Ive had my wife and teenage girls several places over the years to have piercings these guys are fast,efficient, and professional.

Go in there on a Saturday and they have an apprentice piercer and an artist Michele who can’t even do a small color tattoo.mediocre establishment at best.

This place doesn’t deserve nearly as many stars as it has, they are dirty, showcases, tools, all visibly unsanitary & it smells like cigarettes as soon as you walk in. Worst of all, NONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES WEAR MASKS EVEN WHEN THEY’RE INCHES AWAY FROM YOUR FACE DOING A PIERCING... DO NOT COME HERE!!!!

Ive been here for all of my tattoos. Although the staffing might have changed since I first went back in 2015 the environment and staff are very friendly. I will continue to go back for all my tattoos
