We had Ryan for a whole day for family of 5 to get tattoos together. He was amazing. The tattoos are fire! The shop is amazing.

Well, I havent received any service. I walked in more than once, and they asked that I call to set a time. They must be good. I earlier mixed this place up with another place in Angier and they were the ones that finally go back with me to not be able to help anyway. However 401 did get back with me and make it right so I had to change my rating. Thank you

Ryan Veno was amazing. He was very patient and made sure you were comfortable. All around an amazing guy. I would highly recommend 👍🏽

I went to Ryan Veno and he was absolutely fantastic. My brother is getting a tattoo from him soon and I am going back as well! We both sat for 10 hours for my piece and it is flawless!

The guy who did my sleeve stopped replying entirely. My ex apprenticed under him which is the only thing I can think of that would cause such an unprofessional reaction.. no confirmation though... since they ghosted me.The owners style is nice. But otherwise any other tattoo place will do. I ended up removing the sleeve, easy enough to do with todays tech, but I did want to highlight that unprofessionalism because theres no reason for it. Very petty and sad.

Trash, the owner did my tat, (he fit me in to a scheduled appointment) and then proseeded to completely ruin my future plans for the rest of my work ( literally added shading on HIS OWN ACCORD) AND THEN, I tried to get re work to fill in the spots he missed when i specifically asked for dark, rich, and saturated. He treated me of no importance. Simple tat, messed it up... go to Fayetteville for your work. Recommend @evolutionink. Photos provided upon request

The person on the phone was very rude to me after I asked a simple question about the green soap, I just wanted to keep it clean. I WILL NOT be going there for ANY tattoos. Im sorry bud. When ppl disrespect me ill make sure that they dont disrespect anyone ever again... lost a potential customer, also I do tattoos too, just saying I was wondering where they got their soap to see if I can get it cheaper than online. What a piece of work. Smh.

Ryan did a small flower tattoo for me and a Celtic knot for my sister. He is really an amazing artist and such a nice guy. When I sent him a message on Instagram about aftercare (my tegaderm came off but it was no fault of his) he responded right away. He was so kind to me and my sister. The shop is really cool and it’s clean. Awesome people here.

It was amazing without a doubt. Went and saw Mr.Bishop. he did an amazing cover for me. I will definitely go back.

My wife wanted to get a tattoo of our Daughters name and birth date (her first tattoo). They were very accommodating considering we were walk-ins. Bishop did and exceptional job, so much so that now I want to get my first tattoo there as well.

Came here my first month living in Fuquay-Varina & never looked at another place! I have gotten three here and each time I love the finished product, I love the atmosphere & I love the artists. The vibe of the tattoo area is artsy grunge with designs everywhere. Robert the owner did one of mine & hes the greatest guy & a killer artist. Gillian did my most recent one & I had a blast chatting haha. Just always a great experience & will never look anywhere else. They also price really well.

I had fun hanging out here a few nights my wife got a tattoo and so did I turned out great, will definitely be back to see Robert in the future.

I went today for my first tattoo and Ryan knocked it outta the park for me! I was so nervous for weeks for NOTHING! He is very gentle, understanding and an all around cool guy! The shop is clean and awesome with all kinds of oddities! Thank you SO much Ryan, I will be back soon!!

This review is way overdue. I looked for an artist for a long time before I found 401 Tattoo, I’m glad I didn’t pick someplace at random. Jimmy’s work is the best! His attention to detail is amazing, the colors are vibrant & bright! He’s taken my reference pictures and made a beautiful sleeve over time! His pricing is more than fair compared to other shops in the area. Best place to go in the Raleigh-Durham area!

The first time I got a tattoo from there I got it from James and he did a great job on mine and my boyfriends tattoo! A year later we decided to get another one and we wanted James to do it again!! We went back and still did a great job! I will go to him for all of my tattoos in the future.

Had a tat completed by Gillian yesterday. She did an amazing job and the correspondence with her a few days before was professional and she replied back to my questions quickly. Ive had several pieces done over the years with experienced artists and she definitely could handle her own. Would definitely ask for her to do another tattoo for me in the future again and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a new tattoo.

The environment was clean and comfortable, the conversation was engaging and enjoyable, and the work is fantastic. Great artists, great people, and a great place to spend a few hours! Marie is magnificent! I was there about 3 weeks ago, and she has excellent customer service skills. She took her time to make sure everything was perfect before starting the tattoo. During the tattoo, she made me feel comfortable and important. She made sure to ask me if I needed a break. Marie was so spectacular that I came back on Thursday for more work. She was outstanding again! Supurb customer service and very patient and caring while doing the tattoo. Marie is an excellent artist that goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are in love with their new art. Im definitely in love with my new art and I cant wait to come back for more incredible ink. Thank you, Marie for treating me so good and double thanks for the kick ass art!!!

I’ve gotten several tattoos over the last 20 years but I can honestly say that Jimmy is one of the most talented artist I’ve ever delt with. The detail was amazing, and the colors were vibrant and rich. The studio was fantastic and filled with cool artwork and oddities. His pricing is more than fair especially when you consider the one-of-a-kind artwork jimmy does. Can’t say enough good things about the entire experience. I was looking to get my first tattoo and looked at all of the sites in Raleigh (thinking that the best artists would be there) and reviewed their portfolios. I didnt find any work that impressed me. I decided to look in my back yard (I live in Fuquay-Varina) and found 401 Tattoo. I was REALLY impressed with Jimmys portfolio and felt that this was the guy. I went in with a mock-up of what I wanted (full color on the upper right arm) and discussed it with him. Knowing nothing about tattoos, he showed me that my original idea was too small and that after time, all tattoos spread he enlarged the image but still kept it within my parameters (Im a professional and didnt want the image peeking below my shirt sleeve). I setup the appointment. and after a five hours session (and some minor touch up a few weeks later), I was done. Im VERY pleased with the quality of his work as he took my idea and really made it look a lot better. All in all, very pleased. Hes a very talented artist and I see myself going back to him in the future to get some more work done.

Robert, Jimmy, and James are some of the best artists and people I have ever met! They are all not only wonderful artists, but really good guys. I wouldn’t trust anyone or anywhere else with something that will be with me forever. Their commitment to art and keeping it intact and well preserved are unparalleled!

I made my appointment 3 weeks ago over the phone and on text after James had me send pictures of what I wanted. He told me to come at 1pm. I was there early and waited and he never showed up. Mind you I’m on vacation from Michigan. He never called or texted saying he couldn’t make it or had to reschedule. Very unprofessional and a waste of my time. I could’ve planned something else to do with my last day in NC.

I made an appointment with James on Monday for a tattoo on Friday at 4 o’clock. On Tuesday he was supposed to send me a sketch and i did not receive it. I called, and he said he would send it to me by the end of the next day. I still did not receive it. On my way to the appointment On Friday I got a text message saying he had no time to sketch it and needed to reschedule my appointment. That’s completely Unacceptable for someone who’s waiting for a tattoo all week and was literally driving to the appointment. VERY unprofessional. I’ll be seeking my services elsewhere.

I must advise if anyone is planning on going here and having Mr. Jimmy draw their tattoo dont expect any touch-ups. For some reason he believes he is above making mistakes. Not only did he refuse my first tattoo, he also refused to touch up the second one. SMH.

Last Wednesday I was very excited to get a tattoo of a star and a rainbow above my heart. I had an appointment with Robert Meyers of 401 Tattoo and Art. I had never met Robert, but he was recommended by Jimmy Bissette, owner of 401 Tattoo. Robert also had very impressive photos of tattoos he had done on the Facebook of 401 Tattoo, and I felt safe having him do my tattoo.Upon arriving at 401 Tattoo, Robert was rude to my friend who had accompanied me to my tattoo appointment. Throughout the tattooing Robert was dismissive of my friend and myself. I figured if I was getting a very high quality tattoo from Robert like those I had seen online, it was worth tolerating being talked down to for an hour.When Robert said my tattoo was done, I got out of the seat and looked in the mirror. My heart sank. The star, which was a large part of the tattoo, was not the same as the picture the stencil was based on or the stencil Robert created and I had agreed to. Robert apologized for the asymmetrical star and said it was on him, that I didnt have to pay him for the mishappen tattoo. As shocked and disappointed as I was, I couldnt bring myself to not pay someone for doing their job (albeit poorly) and I paid him full price for the tattoo and left the shop.I carefully followed the after care instructions for my tattoo, as I have done for my other tattoos, without incident. But this one was different- on the second day I noticed my skin falling off and color leaking from the tattoo. Over the next couple days the tattoo became hot, red and was oozing pus. It was extremely painful to have any clothing touch the area, no matter how delicately.When I contacted Jimmy, the owner of 401 Tattoo and let him know about Roberts sub-par work, Robert himself answered my message and requested that I come in to see him. My friend and I went to 401 Tattoo, where Robert looked at the painful, oozing, inflamed, infected tattoo he had given me a week earlier. His response was no one bats a thousand, and he offered to redo the tattoo once it was healed as well as give me a gift certificate for another tattoo.I then went to Duke primary care. The doctor diagnosed me with CA-MRSA- which she said was caused by use of tattoo needles or equipment that had not been properly sterilized. To prevent infection, tattoo artists should sterilize equipment including needles, tattoo guns, and ink supplies. Im now taking the antibiotic clindamycin 3 times a day for the CA-MRSA.I strongly caution you not to do business with Robert Meyers of 401 Tattoo.
