Van Gogh Tattoos

Went for my first official tattoo today. They were able to get me in due to a couple cancelations and Rachel did the work. I had a sketch and an idea and she brought it to life. This is a memorial/loved one piece and Ive been sitting on it for about a year. I finally took the plunge and couldnt be happier. She was very easy to get along with, her line work is incredible, and she effectively communicated with me for perfect execution. I even changed a few things and she took it all in stride. I will not go to another place.

Love going to Van Gough for my tattoos! Jack is my main guy but have worked with Dan and both have done an incredible job helping me create my vision. So many more to go and I wouldn’t think to go anywhere else!

After searching through multiple tattoo shops and most turning me away I stopped into Van Gogh. I explained what I was looking for and they told me Dan would be the man. While working on a tattoo he still fielded questions and was more than happy to hear what I was thinking. I told him the objectives I was thinking about that I wanted in the tattoo as a military patriotic tattoo and he was more than happy to accommodate. The whole staff was super interested in what was going on and with in a month and a half I have a full military sleeve on my right arm I gave dan ideas and he ran with it. I am so happy I went with Dan and his imitation and the whole crew of Van Gogh seems as they’re a family there and not just their jobs. I highly recommend them and for sure will be back for more..

Van Gogh is the ONLY place I go for tattoos! It’s not just the amazing work of their artists, it’s the respectfulness of them all. The shop is a laid back environment, and the artists respect if you are the chatty or quiet type. Their current apprentice Jack is incredible, I’ve gotten 4 pieces done by him. He’s an amazing person that they need to keep. David did my skull piece on my thigh, it’s absolutely perfect and Sarah’s work is beautiful and she’s great to talk to. Kyle is a great person with amazing work as well. Can’t recommend them enough!

Had 2 sessions so far with Dan and his work is amazing! He captured everything I wanted on my sleeve thus far. I recommend everyone that wants any type of ink to make an appointment here.

I had an appointment with Jack and he was amazing, very professional and fun. Even with my random shacking he still had really solid perfect lines and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this tattoo, thank you so much Jack!!!!!

I booked with Rachel Wells for my first ever tattoos! She made me feel so comfortable and worked with me to get a personalized yet classy tattoo. I felt like no time passed at all and it was already done! My coworker actually has one of her tattoos and I thought it was done so beautifully, I knew I had to go to Rachel! Also was very affordable!

Sara and Boris are amazing. They did an incredible job, the guy who initially did my tattoo is no longer there. But Sara worked with me and she did a great job with the touch up. Boris is just entertaining... ;-)They did a great job working with exactly what I wanted. I came in with my own design and it turned out exactly how I wanted it to.

Amazing artists. Great atmosphere and vibe. 1000% satisfied with my new piece of art. Sarah truly did a fantastic job. Very very impressed. its a great feeling to see your vision come to life in art form and exceed what you could have ever dreamed it becoming. Highly recommend and I will be returning for my next tattoo.

Lovely people! I came in panicked because my nose ring fell out when I was cleaning it and they were nice to give me a new one that is easier to put in!

I decided to get my very first tattoo recently. I definitely made the right decision to go to Van Gogh. The atmosphere was laid back and fun. Dan, who has a gift and is phenomenal at what he does, went above and beyond my expectations. He, along with all the other artists are very passionate about what they do!This is the first part of my tattoo, I can’t wait for the second part that will pull this tattoo together! I highly recommend Van Gogh to anyone thinking about getting a tattoo, cover up or piercing!

Bryce, and Rachael are amazing!!Came in yesterday to get some advice on my gauges. My ears were having a reaction to cheap Amazon jewelry. Both of them took a look at them and gave some recommendations on how to take care of the problem. They were both incredibly professional and actually cared about making sure my ears healed up properly. Cant recommend either of them enough!Thanks again guys for taking the time to help me out!

Dan does amazing work. Bryant is a solid tattoo artist if you are looking for color work. All around solid bunch. I couldnt recommend them more.

Got a forearm tattoo from them in 2018 full color and everything. Price was great and quality is tip top. Still to this day the color looks great. Has some ware but that’s natural. Would 100% go back for more!

I told David Lawrence what I wanted and he nailed it! It’s beautiful and I absolutely love it! The artist are very chill and easy to be around. It’s a great and clean environment. I’ve recommend them to quite a few friends since I started going and will continue going there to get more work done by David.

I have gotten the majority of my tattoos done at Van Gogh and I love this place. My very first tattoo was done over 10 years ago at Van Gogh. I got another one done in 2018 by Rachel that still looks phenomenal 💕👏Sarah did this tattoo for me and it needed the littlest baby touch up and SHE WENT OUT OF HER WAY to literally get me in the next day 🥺❤️ It is beautiful and perfect and my heart is so happy 🥰 Sarah is amazing, the staff is awesome, the atmosphere is so relaxed, and this place literally feels like home. Van Gogh will forever have a special place in my heart ❤️

Van Gogh is such a nice and welcoming environment. I highly recommend to anyone!! I have gotten every single one of my piercings from them NEVER once have I lost an ear, or got an infection. Love them so much!

Absolute hands down best work Ive had done ever. Really like Dan and Rachel. Dans Line work and highlighting is phenomenal. Ink is still good after 10 years. Never needed a touch up!

Sarah is amazing! Ive had cover ups and new work done by her. They do an awesome job drawing up what I want and are always willing to revise the drawing when I ask for changes. She is so easy to work with! I would highly recommend Van Gogh Tattoos.

Took my teenager there for her first tattoo. Kyle was amazing! She took great care of my daughters first tattoo. We will definitely be returning.They have an awesome atmosphere..very nice.

I choose this place because they were one of the first names that came up for cover ups. After looking at their website/facebook and getting an idea of their vibe and skillset, I decided they would be my choice. My main concern was that they would tell me to get it removed or Id be getting a big ol tree on my arm. Thankfully, my concerns were eased after going to the shop to speak to an artist.The front desk associate went and grabbed an artist to come investigate my tattoo. David came from the back like a prizefighter getting ready to size up his opponent about to throw hands. He carefully inspected the tattoo, took photos, and asked what I wanted to do with it while expressing some concerns.The tattoo I was getting covered up was pretty large and much of it was black. It was also fairly scarred and raised in parts. I had no idea what was even possible but I had some vague concepts that I pitched and left the rest to the artist to have some fun with. He pulled up some images to get an idea, which I agreed with, and off he went. I booked my date and left a deposit.Once the day came to get my tattoo, David was ready to go. It wasnt very long before I got there that he was getting to work. He was much less intimidating this time around and was very friendly and outgoing. Im not usually very chatty in these situations so I felt bad but he didnt seem to mind. The tattoo took 2 sessions with about 7 hours total and turned out great, especially for what he had to work with. Im a huge baby with low pain tolerance but David was very intuitive about sensitive areas and I was able to power through both sessions with relative ease.In the end, I got more than I expected and am already looking for ways to add more. The old tattoo held me back from a lot of things so Im grateful they were able to make anything work. Now that this one is fixed, I can focus on the other ones I want to get and Van Gogh is the shop I will go to get them done. They treated me very well, not only David but all of the other artists who would pop up to check the progress and hype it up. A friendly vibe, clean shop, talented artists. I’ve been all over Michigan at countless shops, this is the only place I’ve come back to multiple times and will continue, amazing artists and great atmosphere. Rachel is my wife and I’s go to artist, she is a pleasure to work with on ideas and great at bringing them to life!

My daughter and I visited Van Gogh Tattoo for our first tattoos. Rachel was awesome to work with. She took my ideas and created a tattoo that represented my three children. She was great at explaining the process to my daughter and I and putting our minds at ease. It was a wonderful bonding experience for my daughter and I. I cant recommend the shop or Rachel enough.

I had a really good experience here! Ambrosia did a wonderful job on my tattoo. She did a great of replicating the piece I wanted but also putting her own spin to it that was suitable to the position I wanted the tattoo to be at. She’s really funny and entertaining. The people at the shop are friendly and the place is professional. Very good price for the tattoo. Best deal I got for the size tattoo and everything. Would definitely come back for some more work here in the future if I’m ever back in my home town.

Overall good atmosphere, clean place, all of the artists are friendly. Ive gotten over 10 tattoos from them and keep going back.

Dan Wade is the absolute best!Ive gotten tattooed by a few artists at other shops and after getting tattooed by dan, I will not go anywhere else! Hes my forever Artist. He does amazing realism and black & gray work 😍 my favorite! Go to Dan if you want great quality work.

I myself, my Fiance, and all of his siblings have been tattooed by Boris. Not only does he do AMAZING work, but overall he is a genuinely good person. My Fiance was diagnosed with a brain tumor and Boris reached and did not hesitate to make a donation to his benefit. We can not thank him enough! I will ALWAYS recommend Boris to anyone who is even considering a tattoo.

Gotten 3 of my tattoos from Boris here. From now on hes the only one Im going to haha hes a dork but he takes your mind off of the pain and makes you feel more comfortable, less nervous all that. Absolutely love his work I havent been disappointed. Will definitely be going again here soon.

Walk in spot was available and Rachel was awesome. Knocked my first tattoos out in a couple of hours, explained the dos and donts. Ill be back for more.

Got my first tattoo there ten years ago. They did great work then and from what I have seen continue doing great work now. If you are in the greater Lansing area and do not just want a tattoo but a work of art, you should stop in.

Rachel was my tattoo artist But based on Her attitude and lack of communication I trusted my gut and went elsewhere. When I first met her we discusred a future tattoo while she did this one on my pinky. When she was done I told her I dont think you got the bottom part of the numbers. She was insistent I was wrong and said when the transfer ink disappears I could see it better and she would touch it up in 2 months when I came back for my other one. When planning my next tattoo to have it drawn up, she didnt communicate at all and was rude to me when I wanted her to change up her drawing...a permanent piece of art on my body. Rude!! Dont recommend at all.

Absolutely love the professional work! Dan did my memorial tattoo and it is exactly how I pictured it! Only place Ill get my ink!

If I were you guys I would never come here for a tattoo or a piercing they have excuse after excuse why they cant do either one every time I come here. Keep in mind every time Ive come here. The shop has been completely empty except Artists and piercer

Great artist! They do fantastic work. Easy to find. If you Google map it they are actually across the street from where Google tells you they are.
