SUCH a fantastic experience from start to finish. Appointment making and scheduling was a breeze. Tom and Lakyn worked around our summer plans and got us in perfectly.My tattoos look AMAZING!! I got some lettering plus a polar bear (see pics). Lakyn had a steady hand plus she FREEHANDED the art beforehand. #NoStencilsA professional business from top to bottom and clean!!! Wonderful restroom facilities and seriously highly recommend Lakyn.

Best tattoo shop in my area, hands down. Every single person working here does amazing work. I have been here enough times to see many different pieces done by all of the artists, and they are all top notch! Ive been getting tattooed since I turned 18(I am 35 now)and they were few and far between until I found Capolavoro. I was recommended here by a friend and I am so happy they told me about this place. The atmosphere is super chill but also very professional and clean. All of the employees are respectful and inviting. I often find myself wanting to just go hang out even when Im not getting any work done.The owner hooked me up with Jennifer Light for a special piece I had been wanting to get for a while and I have stuck with her ever since. 10 pieces and counting, shes that good! I always have a good time when shes tattooing me and Im proud of every single piece she has done for me. I appreciate all the time and effort she has put into making all of my pieces truly amazing and worth every penny I have spent here. THANK YOU SO MUCH JEN!I wish I could rate Capolavoro higher than 5 stars, they deserve it!

I have got my nose pierced a few weeks ago and it healed great. Today my daughter, husband and I got tattoos. They all three look awesome. The owner did my husbands, Dallas did my daughters and Lakyn did mine. We are very happy. I also got a dermal piercing done on my chest. It hurt like hell but well worth it. Everyone was very nice. Will definitely go back for all of our future piercings and tattoos.

I decided to treat myself and went in for a walk-in last Monday and decided to make another appointment today for a special one ive been wanting. It’s been awhile, and other than me doodling on myself, I had that tattoo itch. My very first free hand I’ve had, it was impressive. SHOUT OUT to Tommy @Capolavoro Tattoo Studio! The most welcoming shop I’ve ever been to. The vibes, everyone was nice, no one made me feel dumb or intimidated. Jen did awesome on my walk in and Tommy killed this super special tattoo for me today. People who know me know I love my angel numbers, and my angels. And now there’s always a reminder. She’s a little baddie, ready to fire, guide, and protect ❤️ thank you Vivid Van Ghostbuster for today, you, your babes(Jen) and your crew are top tier! Had to take a screenshot of a video because with all my excitement I forgot before getting on the second skin. You won’t be disappointed!

Found this shop by one of their Facebook posts and so glad I did. Jennifer pierced my nose and did a tattoo for me. They both turned out great and so were the prices. The shop was very laid back and everybody was chill. Will definitely recommend to others & come back in the future.

Got a tattoo for a fundraiser at Capolavoro.Friendly, laid back staff/talented artists in a clean studio.Just make sure to bring cash or use the ATM inside.Will consider for future tattoos when Im in the area.

Got 2 large tattoos from Jennifer Light. Insanely talented artist and cares about the work she does. Super kind and explains thing well if you are new. She puts in the work, not just when youre in the chair but also when youre out of it. She cares about making your tattoo something youll love forever.All the other artists are super kind and talented and you can put your trust in them.

Got my first tattoo done here and Tommy was super nice and talked me through everything. He did a phenomenal job on the tattoo and I will for sure be coming back here next time I want something done.

Ive been to Capolavoro on several occasions for two of my tattoos and I am really happy with both. Im already planning for my 3rd session with Tommy! He is so passionate about creating art and it shows in his work. The determination and patience that man has to make sure his clients are happy is unmatched. Not to mention that his enthusiasm and can-do attitude are contagious.Ive spent quite a few hours in the shop, so Ive been able to see work done by other artists and there are some incredibly talented people working there!Capolavoro has several apprentices and Tommy is consistently teaching them new tips, tricks, and methods to ensure their success and clientel satisfaction. Its a very team-oriented environment and its fun to watch the collaborations.Im pretty obsessive about cleanliness, especially in a tattoo shop setting, so I pay close attention to the changing of gloves, hand washing, new needles, etc., and I have never had an issue when working with Tommy. Everything is wrapped, sanitized, in new packaging, etc., so I always have peace of mind.I will definitely be back!P.S. To whoever decorated the bathroom - it is so stinking cute!

Went in to have Tommy do a small tattoo that means a lot to me. I was so impressed with the cleanliness of his shop and the overall experience. I’ve been anxious about getting my septum pierced. They made it a great experience and I highly recommend if you are looking to get any piercings done this is the place to go! While I was in I ended up getting my nips done as well. The whole vibe of the shop is amazing and a very clean environment!!!

Booked an appointment online for a piercing and the staff was completely unaware for some reason. Their main piercer was not there and they offered to have an inexperienced worker pierce my sister in law’s double nostril piercing to which she declined. Against my better judgement I allowed the owner to pierce me, I didn’t get to choose my jewelry and the guy gave me a very short barbell which doesn’t allow room for swelling.

Tiffany did my first tattoo and it looks great. Kind of a spur of the moment thing but the owner was super accommodating. Everyone there was super chill and if I find myself In Illinois again I’ll for sure go back to her.

Tommy is of my good friends for the last 20 years. Watching him grow and excel in his dream has been one of the greatest things to witness as a long time friend. He recently created an amazing piece on my leg. I was very impressed with the shop and it was so cool to see him open the FIRST tattoo shop in the Pontoon Beach area. An amazing accomplishment from a genuinely good dude. Capolavoro is living up to its potential. Ill definitely be back. Much love

Tommy drew up an amazing piece while I was there. He listened attentively to what I wanted and created exactly what I was looking for. He was also very enthusiastic about his art and detailing. His excitement is contagious and comforting, letting you know you’re in safe hands. He is very methodical, and efficient, while still creating affordable art. My tattoo took around 2 hours in a very painful spot, the ribs. Tommy and his very sociable staff talked me during the process which helped distract me from the pain.I am DEFINITELY going back to this particular shop and its artists for more work in the future.

Freaking amazing! Service was great and getting tattooed went by really quick. The wifi had cut out but there was no stopping Tommy. He started drawing exactly what I wanted if not better!!

Not bad for a new tattoo place. A few very young kids in there. I used to be too female to get an apprenticeship now I’m too old. They look younger every year.Anyway, stopped in on a whim to ask about apprenticeship programs, and the guy was polite enough. Better than most tattoo artists I first shook hands with. He told me to come back with an updated portfolio as I expected he would. It’s a beautiful place. The crowd was a younger crowd, My first instinct would be that these are all new artists and I’d be leery…just truth…and as I expected less receptive and welcoming as someone from my generation, but not sobad. As a new tattoo shop in Illinois in a newly remodeled plaza, the place must have passed many inspections and very strict licensing requirements so I know it’s legit. I’ll leave an updated review with more stars as I get more info.

Tommy and his team of artist are absolutely wonderful. Such a nice and chill environment to go get a tattoo and/or pricing. Tommy has done two of my tattoos and they have came out absolutely beautiful!!! Highly recommend his shop to everyone!!!

Tommy gave me a sick little piece today and touched up the linework on my previous wrist piece that had a blowout was a little shaky. He does extraordinarily clean work and I’m so far beyond happy with the new art and ecstatic to love my wrist piece once more!! Super chill guy, made me feel very comfortable giving my input. I will definitely be a repeat customer and cannot wait to collect some more of his work!

Tommy did this one for me and it’s my favorite piece! He also just did a coverup on me. Besides him being a badass tattoo artist, he’s also super nice and genuine. With both of my tattoos he helped design them to make sure I 100% loved them. Definitely recommend!

I am sooo in love with this tattoo!!! I gave Tommy a picture of the Loteria card I wanted and he did it exactly right and even added the beautiful roses on the edges. Great detailing!! We went for 6 whole hours and ended up with something beautiful 😍 I found my new go-to!!

Ive had 3 pieces done by Tommy and they are all absolutely gorgeous and healed so well!!! They are absolutely amazing humans as well 😊 when we found out my brother in law was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer tommy donated a $500 gift certificate for his silent auction fundraiser. They truly care for their clients and their families. I will forever be greatful!!!

Got my eyebrow done by the apprentice. Overall it was good the piercing looks good I only wish the initial eyebrow piercing was longer. However I am considering going back for another piercing soon.
