I had ear piercings by Victoria today and WOW. I’ve been pierced before, but not here. I had heard great things and all true. Victoria was great. No pain, so surprises. Everyone was very nice. I had a 1:00 and when I left, place was hopping. Thanks for such a great experience.

I’ve had a great experience at First Place! I went to their Friday the 13th event and got two tattoos, one with Krista (the hand) and one with Kat (the ghost cat.) Both artists made great conversation and were very kind. The front desk ladies were SO sweet, even though it was so busy they did their best to communicate and be cordial with everyone. They have water bottles available for clients which I always appreciate, since they care about the well being of their clientele. The shop is clean and spacious, they have complimentary tampons in the bathroom, and everyone was super considerate and nice! What more could you want?

I got a piece done here 12 years ago today and honestly it was one of the weirdest but best tattoo experiences I have ever had. I remember Mike had a great hand and was super apologetic for taking in a delivery and handling other clients but still made me feel important. I have probably 30 solid size pieces on me and this is still looks great and healed great. Id go back in a heartbeat if I ever got the time to be back in the area. Hard to believe this was 12 years ago

Absolutely amazing shop! I went for a cartilage piercing and it was easily the best experience I’ve ever had with piercings. Victoria did my piercing and she was so sweet. She talked me through the entire process so there were no surprises. Everything was extremely sanitary and the entire staff was very welcoming. I would highly recommend going here for piercings. The standard is way above anywhere else I’ve seen.

I had a piece done by Don. I got to say all around this shop was great. The receptionist, when taking my call got me to whom, in my opinion, has to easily be one of the best artists I have gotten to know and work with. I somewhat grew up close to this industry. And guys like Don have carried this industry for decades. He is an all-around great guy, a fantastic artist, and extremely easy to work with. I look forward to working with him again!

I have gotten a number of piercings here over the years and I had always worked with Justin who was always great, he pierced my daith for migraine relief and I havent had one since!!! This last time I went in and Victoria was there and she was phenomenal! I got my conch pierced and my cousin got her daith pierced. This has been the smoothest healing process I have had with a piercing. A couple weeks in and it is no longer swollen nor does it cause any discomfort to sleep on. I live out of state but make it a point to go to First Place for my piercing needs! Highly recommend!

I went for my second earlobe piercing and had a very positive experience. I’d had this piercing done before at a mall (yes I know, bad decision) and closed it immediately, so I was really hoping to avoid a replay of that situation. The piercer walked me through exactly what he was doing and made sure I was happy with his very precise placements before piercing. He has a great eye and explained why the piercing was being placed where it was. Perfect for the paranoid piercee like myself. Everything was very clean and well organized. Friendly and helpful service at the counter, she answered all my questions and helped me pick out jewelry that was just right for myself. 10/10

I have been waiting to post my review because I wanted to be able to post the AMAZING job Victoria did. I made the huge mistake of piercing my nose at Tattoo 46 (never gonna make that mistake again) and my nose got horrible. What I first did was going to tattoo 46 hoping they would have some recommendations on what to do but they just told me to put witch hazel. After trying for days and just seeing how it got worse and worse I found this place and Victoria not only did a great job changing my jewelry but also explaining to me what I had to do. It’s been months and a whole process but I can finally say that I’m completely healed and finally super happy with my piercing. She’s just such a professional person and couldn’t have asked for more, thank you so much!

Over the course of a few years Ive gotten 4 tattoos and 2 piercings from First Place. They are the FIRST people I recommend to anybody looking to get a tattoo or piercing. All of my experiences have resulted in something that Im absolutely in love with. Just a couple days ago I got a lip piercing from Victoria, who I had never worked with before, and she was absolutely wonderful. She made the space feel extremely light and positive and explained everything she was going to do, which created an incredibly calm and safe environment. This was my first facial piercing, but she made me feel 100% at home and comfortable, and i am in LOVE with my result. I adore my tattoos from this shop and my experiences overall have been spectacular. They are my go-to shop and Ive never felt anything but safe and satisfied there.

I had the best experience with Victoria! She did such a great job on my conch and helix, both are healing amazingly (I’m a month in)!! She talked me through each and every step - from placement, to jewelry, to healing, to downsizing!!She was so amazing! I’ll be back the next time I get the piercing itch 😂

So far Was happy with my tattoo. Still need a few sessions to finish but unfortunately due to medical reasons I’ve been on blood thinner and not able to finish it. Try to reschedule for 6 months down the road but they told me couldn’t go that far on their system. Appointment came up and had to reschedule. Tried to call before but no one answered. When spoke to someone approx. 30 hrs before appointment, I was told that my $100 deposit was going to be taken away if I have to reschedule again. Liked the place but not sure if I’ll finish my tattoo there!

Always a wonderful experience. (I think her name is Katie) at the front desk is super sweet and helpful and I cannot boast enough about Evan and his work. Hes always professional, and the most recent tattoo I had done by him is awesome. All of the artists here are very popular and usually booked but most use their social media to manage booking windows making it pretty easy for clients who wish to make an appointment.On another note, Ive been pierced only once so far by Justin and he was super chill, helped me calm my nerves, and the piercing came out great. When talking to him about another piercing I had done in the past that someone else botched, he was full of knowledge and made sure I had the right ear anatomy for that type of piercing and gave me options for jewelry preference.Overall, awesome and worth it.

I went here for my first nose piercing and it was great! Absolutely no problems and I was able to come back a few months later to get the piercing changed to a hoop, no pain at all and the guy is super professional. I recently got my second nose piercing at a different shop, and they did it totally wrong, making it impossible for me to wear a hoop, which is what I had originally wanted. The guy at first place gave me another option and put a brand new stud in for me to compromise for me not being able to get a hoop. Overall it is much more professional when compared to the other shop. Love it here, I will be getting a few tattoos at this place and I highly recommend First Place before other tattoo shops in the area.

I got a helix piercing, my eldest daughter got second holes as well as a mid-helix, and my youngest got her first holes re-pierced. Cannot recommend Justin enough - he was patient enough remedy past ear piercing mistakes. Plus, the studio was immaculate and the piercings were handled medically. Overall, a fantastic experience!

I recently got my ears pierced by Justin. It was by far the best piercing experience I have ever had. The last time I got pierced was at Claires and I was in pain for weeks, and aside from that they pierced too closely to my first hole and if I wore big earrings they would be touching (not cute). Justin knows what he is doing and was very meticulous with the placement. It has been a few days and I have no pain at all, I can sleep on my ears just fine which was a concern for me. The store is very clean and they are following all COVID protocols closely. Overall the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will most definitely be going back for my third piercing. My boyfriend also had a tattoo done here quite a few years ago and Justin remembered him immediately. Little things like that make you feel like you arent just another body walking in and out of the shop. I would highly recommend First Place to anyone looking for piercings or tattoos.

I came in today for snake bites and the piercing process went good but they were uneven, we decided to repierce one side, it was almost perfect just a little too low and justin said he didnt want to repierce it again which was ok, but then he said this never happened in his 14 years of piercing and told me not to come back, it was upsetting because it made me feel like an inconvenience for not settling on something unsatisfactory

I have four tattoos from this shop and theyre older now but theyre still in great condition and the color has not faded much not even on my feet. I went to Sara who unfortunately left the east coast and the owner Mike. Both are great artists and all the other artists are great too from what Ive seen and heard.

Followed my artist(James Post) to this new location. This place is fantastic!. Everyone is so very nice & helpful. The shop is very clean & comfortable. They make you feel right at home!!

I wanted to have a Tattoo with Ana. Her page says its about a month wait. i was ok with that. i saw her work and was excited to have something done with her. Over the summer i filled out the online application, sent examples of what i wanted and a description. I called First Place after about 3 weeks and was told that she moved my art to the want to do folder and i would hear from her by the end of the day or by the end of the week. I was very excited because it was earlier then the month wait. i hear nothing. i call back about 2 weeks later im told exactly the same thing. I wait. no phone call, no email, no text. i call again, now its another 3 weeks or so Ive lost track of time. im told AGAIN she moved my art to the want to folder and i would hear from her by the end of the day or the end of the week the latest! nothing. crickets. Called again today, November 17, spoke with Kaitlyn (?) and was told AGAIN, that she wants to do my tattoo and i would hear from her by the end of the day or by the end of the week. at this point id had enough and told them to forget it.Ana made this entire business look bad and unprofessional. i was offered another artist but i declined.I wish this could have been a different review with a picture of my new tattoo.. but instead its a review about a bad business and disappointment.

Kat helped me with the design as a memorial to my boyfriend, who died from covid-19 a year ago. Love the people here. Love the service. Highly recommend. Everything is clean, bright, and a very comfortable atmosphere.

Having been born in NJ, but raised in a military family, I came to visit family that I havent seen in 25 yrs. Only being here for a week, I decided that I wanted to get a tattoo done as a way to keep a part of NJ with me forever. When I called and spoke to Ana, she asked what I was looking to have done, as they were booked solid for my entire vacation. I described the situation and that I was looking for something simple. Ana said if I wanted, she would stay after closing time and help me out. Now while I didnt get what I had in mind, we came up with a better idea and she knocked it out of the park. Very nice, clean shop. Friendly staff. Best of all, I get to go back to Arizona with a killer kick ass piece from my home state. I couldnt be happier.

Went in for my first tattoo, they treated us very nice and were verg welcoming from the start. I had Ana and she made me feel very comfortable and calm, she made me really trust her which is hard for me because Im a bit of a perfectionist. I loved my tattoo would go again to her. Only detail I set up my appt for 9pm and they ended up taking me at 10 :/

I like to go to a different artist for each tattoo I get. When I have an idea for a big tattoo I always go back to Everett at Firstplace. He’s the best at turning my idea into exactly what I want. His ability to use the shape and muscle lines of an individuals body to determine exactly how the tattoo will be positioned is like nothing I’ve ever seen anyone else do. He’s very efficient with the time booked for the appointment. I’ve been to other very good artists who seem to mismanage the time then tell me I’ll have to make another appointment to finish. After I was very clear that I didn’t care how long the appointment had to be as long as it’s done in one sitting. Everett is always done in the time he says or less. If he needs more than One appointment he already knows that before the first appointment is made. So there is never any surprises about needing more time.

I’ve gotten most of my piercings from here and Justin is so professional!! He’s so knowledgeable and actually cares about his customers. I cant recommend this place enough. I got another piercing elsewhere and it was getting infected and Justin saved it! I love this place so much, will never go anywhere else!

The staff is very helpful and welcoming, even if you ask five thousand questions. Got my piercing here, and planning on many tattoos. Definitely a safe place to go to. Most of people I know come here and their tattoos look incredible.

Went in for a consultation to tattoo over a scar. Artist who’s name was intentionally left out assured their capability in tattooing over my scar. A session was booked at that point for a date 3 months out due to artists schedule. Literally the afternoon before my session after already waiting 3 months for the session, the artist tells me through a text (completely unacceptable by any standard) that they no longer want to move forward with my session as they do not feel confident in their capability to tattoo over my scar. Contrary to what was explained to me at my consultation 3 months earlier. I obviously expressed my disappointment, frustration, and lack of professionalism for the 11th hour cancellation and the 3 wasted months I committed to this establishment doing my tattoo. Did not even have the decency to call me like a professional… would never recommend this place.

Had to rewrite my review after being blown off by Kevin with regard to another tattoo. He never bothered to respond to my emails about getting more work done. Apparently the shop (and Kevin) has enough business that they dont need additional business. Was a 5 star review... not any more.Shop replying that Kevin had a Covid exposure and thats why he didnt respond to my email is a reprehensible tactic. My email was sent the day after my tattoo with him so he either blew me off and their response is BS or he was exposed before my tattoo and they failed to contact trace and notify me of my possible exposure. Either way, poorly handled. I wont return and anyone asking me about my experience there will.be told to avoid Kevin and the shop altogether.

I have a lot of piercings in my ears, gone to various places only to be disappointed. Countless piercings rejecting and not being done right. Within the last year I got my conch and rook pierced at a place near my school (both rejected/not placed right) but I knew if I found the right place I’d be set. Conch AND rook both beautifully done by First Place (in the same ear as the first ones with no problems at all) I’m so pleased and would HIGHLY recommend getting your piercings here.

I got two small tattoos. They both faded so it was more grey than black. Went back to get them fixed. They faded again. Went to another tattoo shop to get it fixed and it didnt fade. But now the lines are thicker than I wanted because they had to do it a few times. Definitely wouldnt recommend.EDIT: This was back in 2018...before covid

Ana was my artist and she was absolutely fantastic!!! She made sure I was comfortable the entire time and was an absolute blast work have. I would 100% recommend coming here. The rest of the staff is absolutely amazing as well

Everette did my half sleeve. Hes a pretty chill guy. Very cool and has amazing talent! I have been to quite a few tattoo shops and many different artists but have never felt overly pleased. Im sticking with Everette! I love my roses and diamonds!

My wife took my daughters to get my 17 year old to get her nose pierced. My wife said the folks were very friendly and my daughter said the guy who pierced her nose was great, no pain! Also, the big thing was that the guy said the Dolan Twins were in the same room and chair. They went crazy!

I have tattoos by both Mike and Don. They’re great people and are always open to talk about your ideas. Mike drew my tattoo on my arm in marker based on my idea and tattooed it. I couldn’t be happier with it:) The whole staff is so nice and easy to talk to.

Justin is amazing as a person and as a specialist. All his team is very welcoming and nice- highly recommend their studio!

Love our artist Everett, however a little disappointed in my hand tattoo. Which I was told would fade a little but over time I noticed blank spots in my art work but I do work in the health care field and wash my hands frequently so understandable, what I do like is he is willing to touch up our tattoos at no cost to us so hopefully it goes well. I would go again.

I have been a customer of First place for many years and have worked with several of their artists. They are a clean establishment but I was recently told that a continuous piece was no longer part of the attending artists focus and that it would no longer be worked on. Instead of a referral I was given an apology for this inconvenience. I called the business to share this feedback and was told the team is more of a free agency. I unfortunately felt as an existing customer the lack of support and interest in my continued business was a sign I may need to look elsewhere.

My daughter got her nose pierced. They were awesome. Very professional, clean place, great safety features in place. Very informative and made sure she knew what to expect.

I called in advance and reserved a time slot for a twenty minute tattoo at 6:00pm. I enter the building confused and untreated, for it was the first time Id ever been there. When one of their employees finally noticed me and asked me how they could help me, they were rude and short. It was my first time at your tattoo parlor and my first impression was already not to a good start.My tattoo artist Evan came out twenty minutes late for my appointment and gave me a half fast handshake. It took him an additional ten to fifteen minutes to get my design on the tracing paper (why is that so hard not like he had to draw anything up). He then told me he was “going to set up his tools” twice before he actually went to set his supplies up and did not come back for an additional twenty minutes. Evan did not provide a welcoming environment. I felt uncomfortable and a burden to his poor time management.My tattoo was rushed and was not quality. My tattoo required no advanced tattoo art technique (shading, color, filling, etc), it was simply just tracing a sentence of letters (not even a complex fancy font). Some of the letters are not the same as the orginal design I gave him. When my half fast tattoo was complete, he rushed me to get out of his room and did not guide me to where I had to pay. Evan was not sure how to charge me for the tattoo either, which also showed me his unprofessionalism.NEVER going there again. worst costumer service ever.

I was a walk-in customer and I got my tounge pierced here. Besides the part with I got needle driven through my tounge (hurt a bit but it was bearable), it was a great experience! Would deffinatly go back and recommend to anyone who wants to shove metal through their body.

I been getting all my tattoos at first place since i was 18 years old. I love them all there great artists and so friendly. Prices or good. My whole family goes here. Wouldnt have it any other way..

Got my first tattoo here just last night. Ev spent a lot of time with me discussing options beforehand; very knowledgeable and thorough, and everything came out perfect. Ill definitely be back, both for myself and to refer anyone else I know.

Had an appointment scheduled for over 2 weeks, an hour and a half before the appointment they called saying there was a family emergency and it would have to be rescheduled... Which is acceptable.What is not acceptable: the soonest they could to take me to reschedule after canceling was a month away. I will take my money elsewhere
