Lovecraft Tattoo

Lovecraft Tattoo is hands down the best place to get a tattoo. All of the artists are incredibly friendly, knowledgable, and highly talented in what they do. I have gotten 3 tattoos from Christian so far, and every session has been such an amazingly positive experience. Christian is not only extremely talented, but does an incredible job creating a fun and comfortable atmosphere for you while he creates the masterpiece youre looking for. I cannot see myself going anywhere else ever for future tattoos. Its just that good.

Nicole is an incredible human being and highly skilled at her craft. She’s extremely kind, considerate, and goes above and beyond to accommodate her clients and make them happy. She’s also honest and fair which is certainly a rare quality to find. I can’t recommend her enough!

Lovecraft is easily the best tattoo shop around. Everyone is friendly, professional and extremely talented. The shop itself is mellow,inviting and very clean. I started going here maybe 12 or more years ago and they are the best. I will never go anywhere else. I do have to give a special shout out to Rick Waite because he is the one who tattoos me, but I would let any of the artists there put ink in me. Definitely check them out whether youre looking for a first tattoo or have many.

Nicole is the best!!! She’s such a pleasure to work with and an absolute sweetheart. I came to her looking to finish a work in progress sleeve and she’s done an amazing job on all of the tattoos :) She makes the entire tattoo experience enjoyable and fun, she’s very professional and her shop is clean and inviting. I love her style, aesthetic and positive energy. I always have a blast with her and look forward to every appointment! She’s an incredibly talented artist in drawing, designing, and application and I highly recommend, especially for black and gray and/or spooky witchy pieces!

Tattoo artist Nicole is a brilliant artist. She’s done three pieces on me and I trust her completely. Her style and personality really comes through in her art. The Lovecraft team of artists, including owner Christian, are friendly and the store and workplace is clean and tidy. Will be back.

Lovecraft is absolutely a vibe! I’ve always wanted a tattoo since I was younger and being a Hamden native and living near the Sleeping Giant area, literally, no other tattoo parlour came to mind when I was booking my first appointment. The staff are very friendly, courteous, professional and pretty badass. Nicole has done ALL the big art pieces on my body and I am so grateful to have her as my one goto tattoo artist. She’s such a sweetheart! Super accommodating, a great conversationalist, unmatched energy even after long sessions, and to boot, her art is fantastic! Her line work is insanely clean, and her shading is exceptional. I’m always super comfortable whenever I have a session with her. Not to mention, the general atmosphere is very friendly and easygoing. Christian (the owner) pops in every now and then and I guarantee you will always have something fascinating to say. He has put me on a few bands and new films to watch/listen to. He has an insane repertoire when it comes to culture in art/film/music as a whole and is excellent company which makes the experience of going to a tattoo parlour the most nonchalant thing ever. It’s like going to a lawn party with friends and just hanging out. I definitely would recommend this spot; I think repeat customers would share same the sentiment as I when I say that the quality of craftsmanship and service is extremely high. I recommend these guys to any of my friends/family looking for a new tattoo shop or looking to get a tattoo!

I spent a lot of time looking for “my artist” after I got my first tattoo in 2019. After searching for nearly 2 years I found Nicole at Lovecraft and fell in love with her work and style and I knew that she was the artist that could bring my plans to life the way I could only imagine. Since then I’ve gotten two pieces done by her and I have the next 6 already planned out and I am definitely going back to her for them. You can’t go wrong with any of the artists at Lovecraft, but Nicole is the bomb!

I have about 20 tattoos throughout my arms and legs but after my most recent artist moved away I had to find a new one.Ive been working with Nicole, and shes great! I found some of her previous work that was around the same alley of what I wanted. I’m so glad I found Nicole, she is extremely talented and has such a good vibe.We’ve already planned out my next two pieces and I can not recommend her enough. 10/10 definitely book with Nicole if you can, but if you can’t I know the other artists in the shop are just as talented.

I went to Nicole (the_nixie_pixie) for my tattoo and I love it! I had a great experience at this studio. Nicole was so kind and it was super easy to talk to her throughout the tattoo! She is a very genuine and sweet person, and completely put me at ease. She had a light hand and worked efficiently (fast but still with great attention to detail). I informed her that I’m allergic to adhesives and can’t use Saniderm and she was super sweet and made sure to use saran wrap and did it in a way that made it so the adhesive tape barely touched my skin. She checked in with me throughout and made sure I was all set - she offered drinks and food but I had brought my own. Another artist (Christian) popped in a few times and he was also very kind. I’ll definitely be returning! (The tattoo is a lil bloody in the picture but that’s to be expected, white highlights tend to do that to me!).UPDATED TO ADD PHOTO OF THE TATTOO HEALED - SECOND PHOTO W NO BLOOD IS HEALED FOR 2 MONTHS :) - It healed beautifully and is just as vibrant as day one (just with less redness and irritation)! This is by far my most complimented tattoo.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience for my first tattoo. Nicole is wonderful and kept me at ease, joking and chatting with me during the process. The studio is super clean and the entire staff is extremely friendly. I would 100 percent recommend Lovecraft and Nicole to anyone looking to get a tattoo. They are the best!

Money ($200) was sent via Zelle to the artist Nicole Frances. She is stating they did not receive this money as they do not have a Zelle account. However, upon filling a claim with my bank they have informed me that the money was received and deposited to their actual bank account. We did confirm we sent to the correct e-mail address for the artist. To provide proof that she did not receive the money, she simply sent a screenshot from her bank stating that Zelle had been deactivated. Deactivation of Zelle with your bank account does not prove that you did not receive that money before deactivation. My banking institution says that there is nothing they can do after the money has been deposited to an actual account. Essentially this money seems to have just *poofed* into the abyss. Smells of fraud to me.

Love this place! I’ve been friends with Nicole for over 10 years. She is so talented and is the only person I will let tattoo me. Christian is amazing also and I always enjoy our chats. I love love craft and recommend this place to anyone whose looking to get a tattoo

As someone who is heavily tattooed and has been to many tattoo shops I can say with experience and confidence that this is one of the places with the best experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The shop is clean and stylish. I particularly see Nicole and she is a gem of a person and such a talented artist. I saw her for a tattoo last summer and it was one of the most comfortable experiences I have ever had. Her area is decorated in a really cool way and she provides a television so you can enjoy a movie or show while you’re being tattooed which is really nice because I’ve spent many a time staring into space for 6+ hours. Nicole is also a great conversationalist and very enjoyable to chat with. I was so pleased with my experience that I am going back this week and taking my older brother for his first tattoo, as I know it will be the perfect first experience. If you are looking for a top notch shop with artists of the highest caliber look no further!

If you want a great tattoo with a great artist look no further. Nicole at Lovecraft tattoo is a phenomenal artist who makes sure her clients are comfortable and satisfied but she goes that extra mile and you can genuinely tell she loves what she does and is damn good at it. I had an amazing session and my tattoo came out AWESOME. The detail and the placement and the part where she did the coverup looks freaking amazing. I have gotten so many compliments already and I will definitely be back for more. If you want a great tattoo by an outstanding artist who has passion and talent Nicole is your artist. She is awesome!!!!

Loved the environment, everybody was so kind and welcoming. I got to work with Nicole and we talked the WHOLE time. Love her work as much as I loved talking to her. Felt very homely!! Sadly never got to finish my arm but that was because I’d personal reason with money. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Nicole or anybody at lovecraft!!

I would recommend this shop to my friends and family. From the time I walked in the door I felt such a good vibe. Nicole was my artist and she had me laughing the whole time, while also tattooing amazing quality work. I met the shop owner as well and he was very kind and welcoming. Nicole even made me ramen for lunch. This is hands down the best experience I have ever had in all my years of being tattooed.

Always a great experience here. Chris is the best and this time I left with my soul dog forever with me. 💚 I will definitely be back yet again of course.

I loved absolutely everything about this place. The workers are so nice and approachable, it’s clean and well decorated. I had my tattoo done by Nicole! She is definitely one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. Extremely bubbly, and fun. She is very talented as well, you can really tell that she loves what she does. I have been tattooed by Nicole (Nixie Pixie) on numerous occasions. She is definitely one of my favorite artists in the area. She has her own unique style that is unmatched. She pays attention to detail & gives you exactly what you are looking for. I highly recommend giving Nicole the artistic freedom to do design your piece. Nicole is absolutely amazing. My sleeve took two sessions and it was an excellent experience. From planning to finish, she’s is a professional and true artist. My needs were always considered. I couldn’t have asked for anything more and look forward to my next tattoo. I will definitely stick with Nicole. I have about 10 tattoos from 4-5 artists and I’m sticking with Nicole! NOTE: She did not tattoo the “warrior” lettering and butterfly. She took a dull piece I wasn’t satisfied with and brought it to life!

Probably one of if not the best experience I’ve had in a shop. The environment is super chill, everyone is super friendly, just overall immaculate ~vibes~As for my artist and tattoo, I couldn’t be happier with Nicole’s work and she’s an incredibly kind and genuine person, having conversation was super easy and made getting stabbed with needles bearable! Lovecraft Tattoo feels like a home away from home. My personal artist is Nicole who is an absolute dream. She has tattooed me 7 times, for a total of about 35 hours. I have allowed her to have as much artistic freedom when designing my pieces as she wants and she has time and time again continued to amaze me with her interpretations while at the same time keeping the meaning behind the artwork. She is an amazing artist and tattooer and will continue to go back to her for my future tattoos. She takes her time while tattooing to ensure every line is as crispy as possible and really cares about her work. She constantly strives to strengthen her talent to make sure she is the best anyone can ask for. she goes to conventions, she visits other artists, travels the country, and does plenty of research regarding her craft. She has a real passion for her work which shows thru her commitment and time she puts into it. i cannot wait to see what she does next and in the future. During each session she makes sure her clients are well taken care of and comfortable. She knows when she needs to focus and she knows when to talk to the client to distract them from the pain. She has always been willing to work with me with whatever design I have given her and very responsive to feedback. She wants to work with the client to ensure their tattoo is exactly what they want and are asking for. I couldnt ask for a more driven tattoo artist. she truly loves what she does. As for the rest of the shop, I have only talked to the other artists but can go on record saying that theyre all a dream as i have friends who see the other artists. They constantly work together checking out each others work giving advice and tips on how to make the piece as perfect as possible for every client. They not only want to help eachother grow but also represent the shop as a whole and see that grow. It feels like a home in the shop and the artists a big family. I truly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone and will continue to go back for more. The shops social media is very up to date as well as the various artists who work there. there work is fantastic and I highly recommend checking out all of their pieces they have done.

Amazing shop but even more amazing artist. Nixie Pixie (Nicole) did my second ever tattoo and she killed it. Price is great and everybody in there is very friend. You even get a cool swag bag which my daughter loved the bracelet and stickers! Thanks so much. Already booked for more! Oh and photo cred goes to Nicole too.

This place is awesome!! everyone here is super welcoming and kind. I personally have gotten a couple of piercings from Ray, and he helped me and a friend in a pinch when her bridge jewelry was too small and causing an issue. he’s extremely kind and helpful, and always answers my questions. he’s also amazing with piercings. he does them fast and efficiently to reduce pain. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I haven’t talked much with the other people who work here, but they all seem extremely kind. I can’t wait to come back again for another piercing or my first tattoo. :)

I’ve been going to Lovecraft Tattoo for years. It is one of the most inviting and welcoming shops that I know. Christian the owner is amazing and normally does my work. But recently I wanted to try out a female artist to change it up and have been eying Nicole’s Instagram for a while. She put together a beautiful piece and her style of tattooing is very gentle and caring. She does amazing amazing work. And puts extra care into the little details that just bring the piece to the next level. But I’m not surprised-any of the artists at Lovecraft are awesome! I only have the in-progress photo but it looks fresh and healed so nicely! Thankyou Lovecraft Tattoo! 💜

Ive gotten 3 tattoos from Nicole in total. Excellent, clean work and a personable and relaxing experience. She truly puts herself into all her work and does so very obviously FOR her client.

Had the most positive first (& second) tattoo experience thanks to Nicole (@the_nixie_pixie on IG). We drove about 3 hours to see her and it was totally worth it!!I wanted a sternum piece for my first & it came out excellent. Then Nicole created an amazing Mother Earth based on Alexa Demie for my bicep & she is soooo beautiful.Nicole is an extremely talented artist and tattooer & I feel very appreciative to have her art on my body.She is such a kind person and made sure I was comfortable, hydrated, and fed through the whole process.Such an amazing experience; I will be back for sure. I went to Nicole to get a tattoo ive wanted for years and god am i glad i came across her instagram page one random night! my tattoo came out better than i could have even imagined and i immediately fell in love with it. she instantly made me feel comfortable and at ease, and conversation with her was so easy that it made the time fly by, even through the shading :)! nicole offered all of her time and focus to getting my tattoo done perfectly and i could not recommend her enough to anyone looking for a quality tattoo with some good conversations as a plus haha. i will DEFINITELY be coming back for more!

Charlotte is an incredible artist, she did an amazing job translating what I wanted into tattoo form and Im so thrilled with my new tattoo. She was warm, friendly, and very attentive throughout, and the studio was a comfortable and clean space that Id love to return to.

I traveled two and half hours to get my Axanthic Ball Python tattooed by Nicole (@the_nixie_pixie) and couldn’t be any more happy with it! She somehow made the snake both adorable and angry looking like she’s defending me lol and I freaking love it! She was incredibly easy going and the conversations we had were not only great and full of laughs, but helped the time pass! I was so distracted by good conversation and the many amazing things in her space, that I handled my foot/ankle tattoo a lot better than I anticipated. Overall it was a fantastic experience, a beautiful piece and I will be back for more!

I loved it!! The atmosphere was amazing the tattoo artists are so friendly. My tattoo artist was Charlotte Epright. And she is just awesome and talented. Since it was my first tattoo she tested the needle on my skin first to see how I felt. She made sure I was comfortable and fine. We talked every now and then. But she got quiet, thats how I knew she was focused on the tattoo. I would definitely go back...the only downfall is the price. For me they charged me $100 per hour. I dont know if there are deals for how big the tattoo is or not..but yeah that was the only conflict.

I’ve been working with Ray for about 5 months now and every single tattoo I’ve gotten from him has been nothing but a pleasure. He always makes the process easygoing. He is easy to work with when it comes to placement and stencils. He’s a great person to talk to during the session that I completely forget sometimes that Im even getting a tattoo.

After one of my beloved pets died I wanted to get a memorial tattoo for him, which brought me to Nicole!! She did such an amazing job with it, she even took care of me when I got a little queasy 😭 she’s super sweet and talented and I don’t want to go to anyone else!!

I had a pretty bad first tattoo experience (didn’t come out as I had hoped), but coming here was an entirely different story. Christian was so welcoming and easygoing, and made the whole experience so easy and fun. I got a small Roman numeral tattoo on my wrist and the price was very fair and it came out exactly as I had hoped. I also felt totally safe during covid times!

I got two tattoos done by ray! He was extremely kind and welcoming and listened to my ideas and implemented them exactly the way I wanted. He didnt get frustrated when I asked for the stencil moved. Overall a great experience! (and I got some great tattoos out of it.)

Amazing artists that custom tattoos to your needs/wants. Rick Waite was and still is an amazing artists. Im lucky enough to have a few of his art pieces. Non overly expensive shop. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get their first tattoo or anyone looking to get another tattoo.

I had a tattoo done at Lovecraft and while it was a well done tattoo their customer service is terrible. I have called to make follow up appointments several times only to never be called back, specifically by one of the owners Laura. I made my final call this week, was never called back, and will not be returning there. Its a shame because it is a cool place and they make beautiful art but if you have to pull teeth with a rude tattoo artist Im not sure its really worth it.

It was my first tattoo bc a friend passed away. I wanted a small tattoo couldn’t figure out what tattoo or where I wanted it and the artist was annoyed bc of that. Once I finally decided he did the tattoo and I’m not liking the job he did. Lines aren’t even, coloring is off, it took a week for the pain to subside and I’m wishing I went to someone with more experience. Called to ask if someone could fix it but never got a call back.

Christian is the best. Awesome awesome shop. Best staff, incredible artwork. Attention to detail is outstanding. If youre looking for quality work with a down to earth professional staff get your tattoos here!
