Very nice smaller shop located in Highspire. This shop is clean and well stocked with items for purchase. There is a handicap accessible bathroom. The artists are nice and friendly. As for my artist, Jake, he is amazing. Very knowledgeable, skilled, and did my first piece freehand. I already have my next one scheduled and will definitely go back to see Jake for more. Thanks again Jake for a great first time at 717 Tattoo.

Hannah was extremely nice, patient, and professional! Price was clear, the shop was very clean and they sanitized/ wore gloves. They also made sure I liked my placement before piercing. I was very nervous for my first cartilage piercing, but Hannah helped me through my nerves!

Jake has been working on my Tattoo. Hes a cool, laid back guy that is dedicated to making his work look great. I came in with an idea that I wanted to start a sleeve...He is understanding of my limitations when it comes to sitting and accommodates me as needed. He has totally made my tattoos unique. Renee does cool work too and he and Clark seem like cool guys 😊

Rene has done two of my tattoos. He is the best! Reasonable prices and he is always professional. I wouldnt want anyone else to tattoo me! Hes thorough and friendly and I love his work. Im already planning my next one for him to do!

Very shady. I feel like I was cheated out my money I got 4 letters not bigger than a credit card and was charged 125$ . Which is the “base price” for any tattoo. But I was not informed this until after my tattoo was already done because had I know I would have had extra details added or something to make it worth it . Literally no designs no shading no colors just 4 letters and a very small heart …. I will never return .

My appointment was scheduled for 12pm; my artist didnt show up until 1230. He did not have anything ready or drawn up; so I sat there until 3pm waiting for him to be ready to tattoo me. It then took 3.5 additional hours to only complete HALF of the tattoo - 2 roses black and white. after almost 7hours of being in the shop and seeing how slow the progress was coming along; I left. I now have a half done tattoo and have to look for another shop because I refuse to sit another 3.5 hours for a tattoo that shouldnt take longer than 3 hours total to complete. The one upside; he was very friendly and what is actually done looks good.

This review starts in the Harrisburg shop and ends with the Highspire shop, so Id like to leave the review in both places:If I could give this place zero stars and give the artist who did my tattoo (Joe Celenzo) zero stars, Id happily do that. I went to this guy for a band tattoo, which I knew was hard to do in the first place. I asked him several times if he felt confident about doing it even though its a complex tattoo. He assured me that he was. Then, when he actually did it, he didnt want to change the stencil even though I told him there was an issue. When he actually did the tattoo, he simply had me hold my wrist up in the air while he rushed through. No rubber band, no measurement, nothing. He claimed, very condescendingly, Itll look uneven no matter what when you move your wrist around. Im not an inkjet printer. I should have left then, but he was already started. The clients up after me showed up before he even started my tattoo with the information that their appointment time had passed already, and he informed them that hed be with them shortly, rushing through the work for my tattoo as they waited. I get the sense that he didnt like the idea for the art and therefore didnt want to do his best work, but he certainly didnt say so as I shelled out nearly $300 for a band that ended up entirely, noticeably crooked. When I say crooked, I mean objectively, noticeably from a distance, crooked. He told me before starting that this tattoo was a thing and had been done before, but I didnt think that meant hed wing it and totally ruin a tattoo that meant a whole lot to me on a personal level.THEN, when I contacted the owner, she acted like she would help. She met me at the Highspire studio (which she also owns) and was insanely friendly, I will admit. I thought things were going to work out from there. However, she kept talking me out of removal and saying she could fix it. She touched it up a tiny bit, then told me to contact her once it healed if it needed more work. I did, several times, then even called, and she would not get back to me to schedule another appointment. Months later, horrible tattoo thats still totally crooked, and as far as Im concerned this place owes me the cost of full removal, though I know that will never happen. I have never had an ink experience like this one, and I hope I never have one again.Oh, and just a heads up, my husbands tattoo, also done by Joe, ended up off-center and crooked too. Surprise, surprise.TLDR: DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT LET YOUR FRIENDS GO HERE. DO NOT LET YOUR FAMILY GO HERE. JUST DONT.

Kushner is an amazing artist and very reasonable in price. Helped me n my fiance out with tattoos a couple month ago and they still look great!

Clark Gable does awesome work. He does tribal hand tap, hand poke, Borneo spiral art. Check it out if you want something original and different from everyone else

I had a tattoo done on my upper arm by Kush at 717 Highspire. I was told it was about a 3 hour tattoo. First of all he was late for my appointment. Tattooed for 30 minutes then went to lunch. He ended up having to break a 3 hour tattoo into 2 sessions because he was too slow to get it done. I go back for the 2nd session and its like my man totally forgot what he was even doing because it looks like 2 different styles. Ella, the owner, did try to fix it but its just a hot mess of ink on my arm. 717 is a household name but thats just because every clown with an anchor on their wrist has a 717 sticker on their 1997 Honda Civic. Do yourself a favor and heavily research your artist. Youd be surprised at the very simple tat that a terrible artist can mess up. Please, please 717, put a more stringent interview process in place. You are putting permanent marks on peoples bodies, please hire the proper people to do so. Ive had 3 tattoos from 717 and I honestly am not satisfied with any of them. I will also never return to any 717 for any further work. Visual Addiction FTW!

Clark did my tattoo ❤...he did an awesome job... Then once it healed up he (and the shop) were all about fixing the little spots that healed bad. Def great job

Got a tattoo that disappeared within 2 days. Called for a free touch up and got a lot of disrespect. Then the employee told us the tattoo was suppose to disappear in 2 days. Why would I pay for a tattoo to disappear in 2 days?
