The place is very neat, hygienic and clean. My tattoo was done by Mike the owner, and he created my back piece which is more than I couldʻve ever imagined it to be! He knows his stuff and he was very humble in explaining the precautions and care to be taken after the tattoo. Had the best experience! Texted him for a consult and quote and heard back really quick. Website was easy to make an appointment. The studio was brand new type clean. Mike the owner did my tattoo, made me feel hella comfortable. And didnt make me feel less important bc I wasnt doing a big piece. Gave his professional opinion that the spot I wanted my tatt wasnt the best long term wise but said hed do it regardless if I still wanted it there. I decided to take his advice and chose a different spot. Asked if he could put stencils on a few different places for me to choose. He didnt rush me at all or get annoyed with how long I took to decide which Im so grateful for. The piece came out perfect. I highly recommend, I will definitely be back soon.

I went to Nerdy Neely not knowing anything about him except the few photos that were posted. I wanted a coverup on my leg. He told me he could do it, and I liked his ideas. The finished product was beyond awesome! Totally covered the old tattoo and it was beautiful!! Easy to get an appointment and private, personalized service added to a great experience!!

I am so grateful that I found Mike in hilo. I spent 30yrs with an embarrassing tattoo on my ankle. I barely wore shorts because it was so bad but last week Mike gave me a really dope tattoo that everyone keeps complimenting me on. There is no trace of the tattoo from before and all I will be wearing is shorts now. The studio is so clean and Mike is very in tune and patient about and individuals sensitivity and anxiety. I will only let him tattoo me now and I already know what my second tattoo will be. He is an amazing artist and I barely bled at all. Mike is a very solid artist that actually listened to my ideas and worked with me rather than telling me what he thinks I should do. Very clean and professional space too. Makes the experience more personal and memorable. The best part about a private studio is there isn’t strangers coming in looking at you or forcing him to stop mid session to ask about their own ideas. The art this guy can pull off with needles and ink should be on the covers of magazines, but lucky for us big island people we got him to ourselves. I can’t recommend the man enough and I will be back for more.
