If you’re looking for the best experience, look no further. I’ve gotten two tattoos with Exotic Eye and am absolutely coming back for every tat in the future, despite living 4,000 miles away. The artists are hard working, fantastic people. I’ve had the pleasure of working with both Margot and Maya and have nothing but positive things to say. Margot is the sweetest, calmest soul I’ve ever met in a tat shop. Maya has an infectious personality that is hard to come by, and hands down the best stories. Turned a 6 hour session into a breeze, and continued to be accommodating and hospitable well after the tattoo was finished. Truly made me feel at home in Homer. Amazing work, great people.

This past Wednesday my husband and I got two tattoos from the amazing Maya as walk ins. They were kind, funny and very welcoming. She took our guide on how we wanted the tattoos to look and they turned out wonderful! It was my husbands first time and Maya definitely made him comfortable and checked on him constantly. I walked into Exotic Eye without an appointment, and they were able to accommodate me later that afternoon! Margot had availability, and I cannot say enough great things about her. From helping tweak my design to perfection and her fine line work to the conversation and her demeanor, I would come back to Homer just to work with Margot on future pieces.The studio itself has a perfect atmosphere right on the bay. It is one of cleanest and most peaceful tattoo shops I have ever been in. If you have the chance to get work done here, you will be very happy with Exotic Eye!

Exotic Eye Tattoo was such a great vibe. I was able to get a last minute appointment, and showed up to their beautiful location nervous (I’ve had an unsatisfactory experience before with another tattoo artist). My nerves were quickly abated by the atmosphere of their cozy, friendly shop.All the artists and the front desk staff were amazing - supportive, cheerful, and chill. It was exactly the environment I wanted when getting a tattoo. The price was more than fair for the quality of the work and overall experience! I plan to return for all my future ink.

Rachel and Margot are so wonderful. My partner and I came here last summer from Seward and got to experience a full day with both of them. Theyre highly skilled artists with unique styles who make dreams come true. Worked us in even though they had bookings all day! We had no appointment. Both Rachel and Maya were so nice and great conversationalists. Maya updated us on the times she’d be available consistently and was very flexible and gave us exactly what we asked for!

My family and I went here while we were on vacation and I couldn’t have had a better experience! This was my first tattoo and I was really anxious around needles, but Rachel was so helpful and reassuring and just making the whole process comfortable for me. The environment is so welcoming and Rachel is so nice and knowledgeable. I am currently a tattoo apprentice and I strive to be as great and passionate as her. I can’t wait to head back up to Homer to get another tattoo from her!

I’ve seen this shop on the Homer spit for several years and knew at some I wanted to get tattooed there. I decided 2023 will be the year and after my experience, there will be many more. Rachel is AMAZING! She is extremely personable and easy to work with. She’s very good at what she does and was able to recreate a sketch my sister had done for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a quality tattoo while down in the Homer area.

I can’t say enough good things about this shop. Every single interaction we had was kind and thoughtful. But most importantly our artist Becca was one of the best artists I’ve ever worked with. My grandma and I came in to get matching tattoos to commemorate our 3rd Alaska trip together, this was my 8th tattoo but her very first and Becca made it such a special experience. Not only was Becca’s bedside manner outstanding, her line work is simply incredible. I’d love to come back and get another tattoo from her someday, but in the meantime if you’re reading this and considering getting a tattoo from Becca and/or this shop DO IT, you won’t regret it.

I was tattooed by Rachel with my own design. It took ages for me to settle on exactly how I wanted it mapped out around my arm, and it was already late at night, but Rachel never showed any impatience and never rushed. She was meticulous and kind, communicated clearly with me whenever there were aspects of the design that would need to be even slightly altered for it to work as a tattoo (especially with longevity in mind), and had the best stories. It was an all-around fantastic experience and I am delighted beyond words with the resulting tattoo!

I wish there were more than 5 stars to leave this incredible studio. I had the absolute honor to be tattooed by Rachel G! Her creativity compares to no other. I have followed her work for more than a decade and finally ended up in the same place as her! She asked a few questions about who I am and what I was all about then proceeded to create the most beautiful piece for my forearm. Taking in influences from her travels and decades of experience, she is the best and most professional artist I have ever worked with. Rachel G is also an admirable and genuine human being. Beyond working with this artist, the space is extremely clean and tidy while also having an authentic Alaska feel. Located on the iconic Homer AL Spit, lay back on a therapeutic heated mat and relax to the sound of waves lapsing on the shore while you make the best tattoo decision of your life. My experience with Rachel at Exotic Eye Tattoo was nothing short of amazing!My wife and I were excited at the possibility of getting very meaningful matching tattoos while on a recent AKation down to Homer but after trying to lock down a 3-hour slot a day before our arrival, we didnt think it was going to happen as she was booked...But, after sharing our story and what these tattoos meant to us and our family, I immediately sensed an unexpected compassion which soon turned into a desire to try and fit us in, in some way or another, even if it fell outside of the typical open hours of her business!Amazingly, after a day or so, after hearing of a recent cancellation, we were thankful to hear that we were in! You must understand that at this point I would have been happy with the matching tattoos, regardless of Rachels bedside manner or detail quality of the tattoos. What took this experience to another level was the enjoyment I had while Rachel inflicted a solid hour of pain onto my arm, followed by an awesome tattoo that is extremely detailed and better than I could have hoped for! I get daily compliments about Rachels art and skill with the pen!In addition to all of this, my wife almost passed out during the final stages of her tattoo and Rachel was amazing! She went next door and bought her a sugary tea, donated her own Brazil nuts, cooled her down with cold rags, and patiently and compassionately waited for 15-20 minutes until she came back to reality, all while her next appointment waited! While she could have rushed the whole process, she stayed extremely calm and collected!Top the whole thing off with a family picture (now with beautiful matching tattoos) on the peer in Homer...BOOM! Rachel is awesome! Exotic Eye Tattoo is awesome! The whole experience was awesome! I can now understand why people have personal tattoo artists as I have just got one myself! Ill be back!!!Do yourself a favor and skip the local tattoo joint, book a trip up or down to Homer, and get your money worth at Exotic Eye Tattoo! You will thank me (and Rachel) for it later!

I had an amazing experience at Exotic Eye. Rachel is very creative, does great work, and is an absolutely amazing soul. You can’t beat the location either looking out over the bay. I definitely plan on coming back to see her and would recommend her to anyone... unless you’re getting a portrait of a fiancé. Then I’d say you might want someone else to do that for you 😂

I wandered in to Exotic Eye Tattoo on the forth of July weekend. I had been thinking about getting my first tattoo. Talked to Rachel about what I had in mind. She was busy but she always is. She took the time to see what I wanted. She set me up with a time that really worked for me. I was super impressed. So tattoo day came she took me in and made me a cup of tea and I felt right at home and she went to work. 4 1/2 hrs.later we were done .What a great lady and amazing artistI am so glad I wandered in her shop!!She took my drawing and put it on my arm and it was even more beautiful when she was done.Thank you so much Rachel !!I have already started my next one .So dont wait get down on the spit get your work started you will be glad you did !Thanks again cant wait to see my tree done!!!

Adorable shop located right on the spit in homer. with the BEST VIEW! look out onto the water while youre getting your ink. rachel G also has amazing jewelry, gauges and apparel with her artwork.she is one of the most talented tattoo artists in the world, and happy to see her have such an incredible 2nd location along with her spot on Maui. the guest artists are top knotch too. Totally Disappointed! $160.00 per hour...no time for a 30 second call or text.Stopped in. Immediately got a return call from Sarah. Went to consultation 7/7. She texted appointment reminder that day. I forgot to bring $100.00 cash to secure the spot. Rather than call or text to inquire, she removed me from the schedule. I showed up on time at noon 7/25 for a partial sleeve. And was turned away, then told I could make another appointment after Salmonfest. I passed! I cleared my schedule for the afternoon. Apparently at $160.00 an hour you can do as you please.

Scheduled my appt 2 weeks sent artwork and everything got there from KS no record of my appointment or anything I confirmed the email she said I never sent anything but wouldnt show me the list they never tried to make it right just said come back a nother day which is why I made the appointment in the first place so screw them I went to Seward and got what I wanted at its not all anchors and roses for a hundred less in 2hrs Ill never go back to exotic eye
