I recently had the pleasure of getting a sleeve done by Don at Upside Tattoo, and I must say, the experience was unmatched. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was like no other – a place where you can truly come as yourself. The other artists welcomed me as if I were a family friend, making the entire experience incredibly warm and inviting.I am immensely thankful for the hospitality, the morning circle, and the overall amazing experience. Meeting Don at the airport on my way to see my sons for Father’s Day felt like a sign to get some ink from a great person. Don’s dedication to his art and the time he spent with me made this tattoo experience one I will cherish forever.I can’t wait to return for more sessions and continue this incredible journey with Upside Tattoo. Thank you, Don, and the entire team, for making this such a memorable experience.

Love this place very much and I’m pleased I got my first tattoo here. Not only is the facility beautiful inside putting it afar from other tattoo shops but the people there were even better. They go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience by giving you a variety of snacks and even lunch. Then after you’re finished they give you a T-shirt and lotion for your tattoo. Not only that but the person I went with (Ashley) went out of her way making me love this tattoo shop.

This place will be by far one of the best experiences you’ll have getting a tattoo. I’m not even from Texas, I’m from Boston and was only visiting Texas temporarily when I came across this place. From the atmosphere to the artist Upside Tattoo will be one of the best experiences you’ll have getting a tattoo. They take outstanding care of there people they even go as far as to get you lunch which from where I’m from (Boston) your just not getting that same treatment. The artists are so nice and talkative so it was never awkward once and the place is so nice and spacious and comfortable you could almost fall asleep. They give you the stuff for the healing process after and t-shirt. They just go above and beyond and I will 100% percent be going back when I come visit Texas again.

Ive been looking for an artist in the Austin area for half a year and couldn’t be happier with Upside Tattoo. Booked an appointment with Angel and after our creative call I knew I was at the right spot. Angel had a great sense of detail into his work along with incorporating all the elements I wanted. Highly recommend for realism/black/grey work.By far one of the best experiences i’ve ever had. It’s rare to enter an establishment and leave a better person than when you first walked in. There’s something about Upside that that makes it stand out from other places. The clean welcoming environment, positive energy, interaction between artist and clients, and just the overall culture of Upside is something you can’t find anywhere else. It’s refreshing to be in a place where everyone wants to better themselves not only in their professions but as people. Will be booking more sessions in the near future.

Hands down the best experience you can and will have. All of the artists and their amazing work speaks for itself. But the experience is what truly stands out. The experience Upside offers is unmatched! Ive been a long time client of Angels and always leave stoked with his art work. Weve certainly become good friends over the years and will stay committed to him as my artist. His black and grey realism improves every time I see him as he is dedicated to his personal growth!Upside sets itself apart from the typical studio by offering pre zoom conferences with your artists, a positive energy atmosphere, all while starting the day off with a gratitude circle. This is not your traditional tattoo shop and thats what makes it great. They have a wonderful welcoming environment and you are treated great throughout your whole process and with a lot of patience. I had the pleasure of working with Don and he did an amazing job on my tattoo! He is very welcoming and professional which is exactly what you want when sitting with a tattoo artist all day. Highly recommend Upside tattoo. I was even provided great aftercare ointment which you dont really get at other shops.

I wanted to give a huge shout out to Ashley at upside tattoo!! From the beginning to the end of the process! Jazmin helping me start the process, and the communication from Ashley on the collective call to get the detail and ideas of the tattoo I wanted. I’m very thankful Ashley was mindful in changing the design from the original tattoo design I wanted. The greatest communication all around! It made me even more excited that she was mindful in doing what was happy for me! I gotta say the outcome was so amazing and beautiful! I loved the idea of it not being your typical tattoo shop, but it was unique in its own way! From the peaceful music to the talks with Ashley and other tattoo artists, I thought it was different and cool that the artist and people getting tattooed sat in a circle doing breath work, we also went around saying what we were grateful for in the day or in our lives. It was an experience in itself but a great one! If I could I would rate it a 10! Thank you Ashley for the amazing and beautiful work! I hope we get to work again soon!

I’ve been tattooed at three different locations and this is by FAR and away the best shop I’ve been to. The staff is amazing. I felt at home right away, they provided lunch and snacks and everyone stopped by to chat while I was getting my work done. Huge thanks to everyone there for a wonderful 4 sessions. If I could erase my arm and do it all over again I would.Don: best artist I could have asked for. Personable, funny and did AMAZING work. He put a lot of time and effort into my piece and really came through getting it done. Even though I moved to GA I would fly back to Texas to get more pieces done. I had my tattoos completed by Laith, he was amazing during the entire process. Extremely personable and considerate of my time and feelings while also being a great tattoo artist, can’t ask for anything more. As for Upside as whole, it truly felt like a family from the minute I stepped inside the building. Everyone Ive met at Upside has been incredibly nice and courteous. Its clear they genuinely love what they do.

I’ve gotten Tattoos over the years. Upside tattoo by far my best experience overall. From my initial consultation to my piece being completed. Upside took my idea and turned it into a masterpiece and probably one of my Favorite pieces. Don is a great artist who bought my piece to life. The overall atmosphere at Upside is one that can’t be compared.

Coming here has completely changed how I view tattoos, it’s an experience like no other. The artist & staff here are all amazing people & they make the process of getting a tattoo personable, in the best ways possible. Similar to how a visit to the doctor or dentist would feel, & not just like a transaction. She then connected me with my artist, Laith, who was just as thorough, helping narrow down concepts and finalize the designs. Once I arrived at the studio for my appointment, Jazmin and Laith welcomed me and immediately put my mind at ease about the process. Everything about the experience was enjoyable, from the gratitude sharing before we began to the provided snacks and lunch to the actual tattoo. The final product exceeded all expectations, with Laith doing an incredible job bringing my ideas to life. I’ve always believed that the energy with which you do something gets baked into it. I think that really encapsulates the experience you get at Upside. Everyone who works there loves what they do and strives to create the best possible result for their clients. This place isn’t just a tattoo shop, it’s a peaceful sanctuary for art. Working with Laith, Jazmin, Andy and the team at upside was a true experience. They are phenomenal at listening and designing exactly what you want, and the quality of the tattoos that they produce is second to none. As soon as you walk in the door, you’re treated like family and welcomed with open arms. The environment is relaxing and serene, providing a mellow flow for creativity and conversation. From the design to the experience, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I threw a bunch of raw concepts and ideas for a sleeve at Andy, and he brought them to life in spectacular fashion. The mock up and design was unbelievable. If yore looking for someone with a passion and concern for his customers that matches his creativity and raw talent, this is it. The entire team there is extremely talented. InkMasters is SLEEPING on this one. 🤙🏻

This wont be the experience youre accustomed to when going to a tattoo parlor. I flew to Austin just for Andy to do my tat and I was well received by Jazmin, his concierge, when I arrived. I took my shoes off and selected my meal for lunch and then we all sat in a circle where each of us spoke about what we were thankful for. With incense going and relaxing music playing at the same time, it was an atmosphere that had a total zen vibe to it. During lunch all the artists and customers ate together and talked. It was a fellowship, made good friends, and great conversation. Did I mention I was there for a tattoo? Andy delivered on a realistic piece of 3 lion cubs to represent my children. The detail of the fur is unreal. Im glad I got to hear about his kids and life experiences as well. Just need to think of something to get on my forearm so I can go back to a great place and a great experience.

It should not be a surprise that Upside Tattoo boasts such a high rating when compared to other tattoo studios. This was definitely a different experience than what I could have expected in a very surprisingly positive way.The whole process is effortless from scheduling to payment. Whether you are only there for one day or multiple days, you will have an opportunity to meet all the artists and talk with everyone who is getting tatted. The environment makes everyone feel comfortable and relaxed with positive energy, so that the sessions go smoothly, physically and mentally!Ashley was my tattoo artist and saying that she did an amazing job is an understatement! She was willing to be flexible with hours to help with my schedule as I was traveling in. She added her input to help design a half sleeve that I absolutely love! And I spend most of the session just laughing and having fun conversations with her (except for the few times I dozed off).Definitely recommend Upside to your next place for your next art!

This was my first tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with the experience that Upside Tattoo provided. From the initial conversation with the consultant Jazmin til the very end I have nothing but positive things to say. Communication was on point and very clear, and any questions I had were answered! The studio itself is super zen, with positive energy, which is on brand for all the artists and workers there. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by everyone in the studio, and received a very welcoming and comforting feeling. For the tattoo itself, Ashley was my artist and absolutely killed it. Turned out better than I could’ve imagined and I’m super happy with it! She’s very sweet and was reassuring throughout the entire process as she could tell I was a bit nervous for my first tattoo lol. Thank you Ashley, you are amazing, so glad we got to work together on this project!!! Overall would 110% recommend this studio, I saw the work of other artists while I was there and they were also incredible. You won’t regret choosing upside!!

From start to finish my experience with Izzi at Upside Tattoo was amazing! I reached out to her about an idea and she was so patient with the little tweakings and changes to make it perfect. She made it very comfortable to send her any new inspiration photos I found between first contact and the appointment, without feeling like a bother. The day of the session was so relaxed and laid back. I went in and met Izzi in person and she was just as laid back and friendly as over message. She finished up my art and double checked everything was how I wanted it. Then we had a little gratitude circle (didnt seem weird or ultra spiritual focused) with the other artists and clients that day which was a nice way to say hello to the other people around the shop and start our sessions. She made sure I was comfortable during the tattooing and was so very easy to chat with that the time flew by! They ordered in lunch for everyone and we enjoyed it all together and then got back to tattooing. The day was over before I knew it! Everyone there was so friendly and enjoyable to be around from Jazmin scheduling the appointment to Andy the shop owner who checked in occasionally. The space was so down to earth and relaxing, no loud blasting music or rowdy guests. They had a sweet little snack basket for me to snack on during my session and water bottles. They offered other drink options as well, Izzi was very hospitable and made me a cup of hot tea in the morning. I love my tattoo, its exactly what I wanted. Everyone who sees it is always impressed by the artistry and says things like that literally looks like a work of art wow I cant believe thats real its like someone sketched that with charcoal or something, its crazy thats actually a tattoo wow she made it so beautiful and delicate. 10/10 I will be back if I get more tattoos!

He sets himself up for success in everything he does whether that be his workouts, tattoos + art, or being a great father and husband. This was my first experience at upside tattoo. From the beginning (messages & phone call) to the end this place is phenomenal to say the least! Upside tattoo has the best service I have ever been to. They are not a normal traditional studio you see on the street. They take pride in their work, they cater to their clients and even their artists. You will never find a place like this. I don’t know if I could ever go to another place after having this experience. This place is worth every penny and would highly recommend every single artist in the building. My artist was Laith and he was just so kind and gentle and precise. I even fell asleep a few times 🤣. Thank you for such an amazing experience!

Man if I could give Upside Tattoo more stars, I would. My experience here was amazing. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with kindness and respect. The energy was calm and the artists were very welcoming. I’ve never experienced anything like it. Most shops set the bar very low but Upside has set the bar high and the clients comfort at the forefront. I will definitely be coming back and am already telling my friends about my experience here.

Brian’s work is masterful! He has tattooed me 3 times now each time getting better and better. I constantly get stopped in public and asked who did my tatts and every time I give this man credit. The shop: I’ve been to a number of tattoo shops in Ca and Tx, and Upside Tattoo is truly the best experience! I’ve had both Laith and Jazmin help me with bookings, and they are both professional. I met Andy (shop owner) on one of my sessions and he is super cool, too! The shop is pristine and decorated beautifully, in a way that promotes an incredibly spiritual atmosphere that I’ve never seen in tattoo shops before.My artist: I reached out to Bryan Espinal (@indgobleu on IG) in August 2022 about doing my arm sleeve. Up to that point, I had some so-so experiences with the artists I worked with—they were often times flaky and impersonal. Bryan, and everyone on the Upside team, was the opposite of that. In the span of a year from the initial conversations, to the first consultation, to the numerous pieces of art he did for me; I got to know Bryan. Bryan is responsive and patient. He took the time to get to know me, and I really appreciate that about him. I asked him if he enjoys what he does, and in his response I can tell he does, which is awesome.Definitely check out Upside for your next piece. Andy is building a wonderful thing there, and has brought in not only talented artists, but good people!!!

As a client its very important to me to feel comfortable and relaxed during my session. This has been the best experience Ive ever had getting a tattoo. It starts with the top in that Andy has a really great shop with really great people. The dude is very chill and kind. Everyone is really nice and supportive of not just their clients, but one another. Jazmin does a great job of explaining the process, connecting you with the artist, and being supportive throughout. My artist, Don, cant say enough. Dude is mad cool and an excellent artist. Im extremely happy with my tattoo so far and cant wait for the final piece to be complete. My artist at UpSide Tattoo is Izzi. She is outstanding. She put together the beautiful piece for my arm, which I had previously already drawn myself but she hadn’t even seen. It’s almost an exact match to what I had imagined. The piece is very meaningful to me because it incorporates my family. Our birth month flowers on a vine. What attracted me to her work first, were her lines. There is a lot of vine work in my piece, so clean lines were very important. Izzi is a very special and extremely talented artist. I highly recommend reaching out to her for your next tattoo.The UpSide Tattoo Studio is fantastic as well. All of their artists are highly dedicated to their work and are all very talented. The whole team at upside is very nice and sincere, a very family like bond between them. Jazmin made the whole set up process very easy and comfortable for me. I have been following Andy Pho for years and finally decided to start my Lord of the Rings leg sleeve with him, which would be my first tattoo. I resonated with Andy on mindset and life in general so that drew me more too him, in addition to his incredible work. From the initial process of speaking with Laith in regards to setting everything up, to showing up for my first day and connecting with my artist Andy, was top notch service. They really do an excellent job at making you feel like family. The zen and calming vibes that Upside brings was refreshing and made my tattoo experience that much more special. Upside really takes the thought out of everything for their clients. They provide snack baskets, water, and lunch. This small touch went along way for my personal experience. My favorite part about Upside is the gratitude share they do before everyone begins to tattoo. Its nice to connect with the other artists and clients they are tattooing. Great place! Not just a place to get a tattoo. Very relaxed atmosphere. You can breathe easy and let the sounds of the background music take you to that place while youre going through the process. Or you can easily have awesome conversations with your artist. Everybodys friendly. Youre encouraged to help yourself to assorted snacks, bottled water, and tea. Lunch is also provided. The home away from home is very clean&tidy. I was there for a two day session with Andy, and I am very satisfied with the work that he does! Hes AMAZING! Im very happy to see him every time I get tatted by him. His staff as well as the other artists are great at what they do. They are dedicated to challenging themselves to the highest frequency of their profession. You will not leave this place disappointed!!!Great job! Not only was the environment comfortable and welcoming, but so was my Artist, Bryan. He has great attention to detail and has the highest quality of craftsmanship. Upside Tattoo is a game changing tattoo experience. I have a bunch of tattoos, but had fallen out of the habit for the past 8 years. When my cat passed away earlier this year, I knew that I wanted to memorialize him with a realism tattoo, but didnt know where to go or what artist to work with. Then I found Upside and my entire perception of the tattoo experience changed. Andy Phos vision of the experience - the calm, peaceful energy mixed with mindfulness and passionate artists - is truly one of a kind. And when I saw Ashleys work, I knew instantly that she was the artist to memorialize my cat. The entire experience of working with Ashley was incredible - she had amazing ideas of how to design the piece, came prepared, and poured her heart and soul into her work. She made the entire experience feel like something Ill remember forever - which is crazy to think about when you consider the fact that youre getting TATTOOED all day. But I have to say - it was such a pleasant experience that it barely even felt like it hurt. The whole environment just put the pain out of my mind. Ashley went above and beyond for me, and you better believe I will be back at Upside as soon as possible. I cant recommend Upside/Ashely enough. If you want the *best*, look no further.

This is the best tattoo shop I’ve ever been to. The atmosphere is so peaceful, welcoming and loving. My tattoo artist was Bryan and he’s one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. He’s worked on my anime leg sleeve and it’s been nothing short of an amazing experience. The vibe is very relaxed and it’s the total opposite of what you would get from a normal tattoo shop. My experience at Upside Tattoo tops every shop I’ve been to. I can’t recommend this place enough, especially if you’re looking for an artist to really understand the concept you’re going for, while also searching for someone to connect with. My artist is Andy Pho. He has the most efficient way of tattooing, and will be most thorough with the details of your idea. My first piece by him was a portrait of my dog wearing a shark bandana and he captured him perfectly into my piece. I also began my neck/chest/stomach with him, and he and his team ensured my experience was comfortable and respected. I haven’t finished my torso yet, but I’m already thinking of ideas I want to collect from his other artists!! I confidently recommend anyone to come get a tattoo here. ♥ Thank you Andy, Laith and the rest of the tattoo family.

I had a wonderful experience at Upside. The vibe is unlike any tattoo parlor Ive seen. The mats, incense, music and decorations set a relaxing tattoo experience. I felt listened to and part of the team as my tattoo was designed during the creative process. The details to get the artwork just right produced something I love on my body that closely matched my vision. I couldnt recommend Upside more.

There isnt enough room to explain the experience Upside tattoos gave me. The tattoo shop is the cleanest Ive ever been in, the artists where amazingly friendly and welcoming. Laith did my intake and was just awesome communicating the design process which turned out better then I could have imagined. Ashley was my tattoo artist and what an amazing human being. Her tattoo work was beyond my comprehension, her energy during my two day tattoo session was so much fun to be around. I gave her my complete trust to take my design and bring it to life and cant be more pleased with the outcome. To add some context to my review, Im 44 yoa and i have ALOT of tattoos and have been tattoo’d in probably 10 shops with a range of different tattoo experiences and designs. This will be the only shop I use and refer to. Andy Pho, the owner, did something with this shop and his team that really is unique and awesome to be a part of. Ive NEVER done a google review for anything but I feel compelled for some reason to give this business the review they deserve.

I had the wonderful pleasure of starting my Spirited Away arm sleeve with Bryan, who has top tier talent when it comes to absolutely any anime-themed pieces.As someone who has been to multiple tattoo shops, they can come off as somewhat intimidating places to be due to all the loud sounds droning together (it can feel like an attack on my ear drums 🫠). This studio is not like that in the slightest: I have never felt so relaxed while getting a tattoo. The atmosphere is straight up phenomenal.Anyone whos looking for a tattoo shop that emparts with you not only a tattoo, but also an extremely unique experience, then this is the place to be. I entered the studio feeling like a stranger, but quickly felt at home--as though I was around family.Never in any of my tattoo experiences have I felt so extremely well-taken care of, but also heard when it came to having my tattoo vision become a reality. I am so stoked to continue working on my sleeve with Bryan to see what he has planned for me!

First off the atmosphere itself is enough to book a session. Far different from any other shop, I’ve been to. Don is elite and I can’t wait to go back.

It’s was a grueling 8-hour session (my first that long), but the artwork is spectacular!! I also really enjoyed the zen atmosphere of the shop! Will be back to do more work on my sleeve with Bryan, when finances allow.

Unbelievable experience from start to finish! Truly a special place. My artist Dontavious (Don) was so easy to work with and made the entire process enjoyable. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for the best work. I had ideas for my full sleeve and he was able to bring them to life in ways I didn’t know was possible. Having past experience with tattoo shops, Upside Tattoo is the best and it is not even close. Will definitely be back!!
