Each tattoo artist is very talented, I have had the pleasure of working with Ivan for three years now, Ivan is dedicated to his craft and ensures you will receive the best outcome! Had an amazing time! I got my first tattoo here and Jason took us on a walk in. He was super helpful, kind and calming. I loved my finished piece. He did a great job! 10/10!

The entire shop was super friendly, laid back and fun. Ivan blew me away with the small idea I had in my head and took it from a rough sketch to fine art. The work on my sleeve so far is something I could never even picture to turn out so beautiful. You can just tell that Ivan and the rest of the crew are 100% there for for the art, and to do a masterful job of it. 10/10 recommend.

I have had Mirtha tattoo 3 fine line pieces on me, and each time has been perfection!She listens to what youre wanting but still gives her professional recommendations on style, placement, and size! She has a very light hand which worked for me because I seem to pick painful spots LOLShes so great and I recommend her to everyone!The shop is very clean and modern feeling. I really like the vibe and the gal who is at the front is really nice and welcoming.The only thing you need to plan for is parking since its in downtown La Jolla and parking slots are sparse. I just park in a paid lot and walk!

We came in from Mississippi for a work conference and decided to get tattoos as a fun way to mark the trip. Mirtha was absolutely wonderful. I cannot say enough nice things about her. The design she created for my honeybee was beautiful and she was so sweet working we me to find the best placement. Very professional and clean shop and very easy to communicate with. I wish I lived closer. I would definitely work with Mirtha again. Thank you for the fabulous ink!

I meant to leave this review a while back, but Bay Ink La Jolla is by far the best tattoo shop I have ever been to. Ivan has created an amazing place with a super positive atmosphere. Everyone is smiling, and it feels like youve walked into a family-owned tattoo shop.My tattoo artist is Darien, and he is just an awesome artist. He took all my ideas, no matter how silly they seemed, and turned them into art. He is very professional and clearly loves his work. Darien is a perfectionist when it comes to his craft and is simply an outstanding individual.I no longer live in California, but I will fly back just to get work done by him. I cannot recommend Darien or Bay Ink La Jolla enough!

I had an incredible tattoo experience with Ivan Aleman as my artist. When I came in with a general theme of what I wanted, he was able to bring it to life in a way that exceeded my expectations.The shop is absolutely pristine and the entire staff is very friendly and welcoming, I was always excited for each session. What also really impressed me was how Ivan positioned the tattoo so that it flowed with the natural shape of my leg to create a more realistic effect.I couldnt be happier with the progress and the experience as a whole. Ivan is an incredibly talented and passionate artist who is dedicated to making sure his clients are completely satisfied. I highly recommend him and Bay Ink as a whole to anyone looking for an amazing tattoo experience.

I had the lovely Mirtha do my tattoo and I absolutely love it. she is super sweet and did exactly what I asked for. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting floral and fine line work.Now the low stars are for the situation I dealt with at the front desk. After my tattoo , I was sent to the front desk to pay for my tattoo. I had already put a $100 deposit down when i booked my appointment. Now when I was ready to pay, I was told i only had to pay $50 more for the whole tattoo. so the total was supposedly $150. This price seemed very low for the amazing work that was done on my tattoo. I even asked the lady at the front desk “are you sure thats all it costs? I thought it would be alot more” She said yes she was sure. I paid , I left and i was satisfied but still in shock at the price. Come 6 days later , I get a phone call from the shop saying they made a huge mistake and undercharged me for my tattoo. I was told the tattoo was actually $450 not $150. So i was being asked to pay $300 more. In my opinion this is bad business and I am hoping they don’t do this to other customers. Even though the manager sent me $50 back, I still believe they need to be upfront with their customers and make sure they are charging correctly the day of. To charge someone a certain price and then to come back a week later and ask them to pay more because of their own mistakes, seems unjust.

Highly recommend Bay Ink tattoo! Ivan was super cool and the shop looks great. Love the back piece he did on me and was really easy to communicate my ideas and what I wanted as well as incorporating his own. I’ll definitely be coming back for my leg sleeves!

This tattoo shop was so clean and spacious and the music was actually calming. Loved it. Reception was welcoming and Ivan, my tattoo artist, walked me through the process from start to finish, making sure we were making decisions that would work the best for the size, color, and look of the tattoo. And the artwork came out the Better Than My Vision!! 10/10 would recommend.

The whole vibe of this business was just welcoming and relaxing from the get-go. I brought my 15 year old daughter in for her third piercings in her ears and Natalie was informative, kind, quick with her work and it turned out amazing! We were in San Diego on vacation but will definitely be back in the future when we visit! HIGHLY recommend!

Ivan has been my artist since 2018 and I’ve always had an A+ experience with him. The studio is always clean and they always practice good hygiene before they even touch you with a needle. Thank you Ivan for the great work and professionalism!

Unfortunately, my experience here was super uncomfortable due to one person really. Receptionist & actual tattoo artist were super cool. Went it wanting an American traditional style tattoo & obviously I know all artists add their own flare, but the design he drew up was extremely hyper realistic. All my tattoos are traditional. This wouldn’t have been my style at all.After overhearing my conflicting emotions on this piece, another tattoo artist completely stops tattooing his customer & comes over and tries to explain how this tattoo that his co-worker drew up for me was “better” than the design I came in with. I explain to him that it just isn’t my style & I shouldn’t feel pressured to have something tattoo’d that I’m not totally in love with. Little did he know, I understand & speak Spanish. I understood everything you said when you walked away & everything you tried to make jokes about to your other co-workers. Truly unprofessional. One of his comments in Spanish were “Just do what she wants & charge her $2,000” … for a palm sized tattoo.. Sorry people like this effect your company name as an entirety as I can tell you guys do great work across your multiple locations.

I got 2 amazing tattoos done by Rio on the same day. His fine line technique was so impressive, and both pieces came out exactly how I had envisioned them! Amazing art at a reasonable price point— highly recommend working with Rio.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience as walk-ins at the La Jolla shop. The setting was comfortable and clean, and we both had consultations with our artists prior to beginning. The quality and artistry of the tattoos we received far exceeded any expectations we could have had! Even though we were walk-ins, this was something we had been talking about for quite some time. My Tattoo looks amazing and is healing perfectly! I’m so thankful to have worked with her! After losing my 1st dog (13 yo), really wanted to get a tattoo that reflected house close he was to my heart and soul. I looked around and nothing really stood up for me. Until one day, I came across Bay Ink Tattoo IG page and found the work of Mitha (@arteink_bymirtha) at Bay Ink Tattoo La Jolla. After looking at her portfolio, I knew I had found the right person! I reached out and booked a consultation. After the consultation, I was convinced and booked an appointment. On the day of the appointment, Mirtha showed me the design and OMG it represented exactly what I had in mind. Her work is so delicate, precise and I can say that she really is dedicated to her art! I loved it so much that I got a 2nd tattoo with her later that year! Shes an incredibly special artist and if you are looking for subtle, delicate and precise work, SHE is the ONE!I know that if I plan to get another tattoo (and I do plan to get another one), I will be definitely going to Bay Ink Tattoo La Jolla and specifically with Mirtha - a gifted angel!

Had such a great experience at Bay Ink Tattoo in La Jolla! My very first tattoo ever was with Mirtha, who was so kind & so patient. While it was a tiny, quick tattoo, I left with my second appointment booked with her and could not wait to see what designs shed have for me when I came back. Once back, I had intended for one floral piece and ended up leaving with two! Im now just one week out from my second appointment with her and so happy with the results. Mirtha is incredibly patient, calm, and so sweet to work with. And the studio is gorgeous, super clean and organized. Front desk makes you feel welcome and comfortable from the very beginning. If youre looking for delicate, fine line work, Mirtha is your girl!

Unfortunately Jason was my tattoo artist at another shop (So please dont reflect this post on Bay Ink) BUT HE DOES WORK HERE NOW. SO BEWARE. I don’t know what else to do.. I got my tattoo October of last year (2022) by Jason and when I say it’s been a rough year it’s been a rough year. Anyways, this whole time i’ve communicated this to my artist and I had every intention of finishing my design- mind you this is whole arm piece we’re talking about - shoulder to wrist. I’m not one to just jump and book things without knowing I can’t tip my artist properly, but Jason has been so quick to tell me more than once he was going to put my design up for grabs if I didn’t book my next appointment so I did! First red flag. A month later I found out I’m pregnant and instead of him being patient and accommodating he says he’s going to put my design up for grabs. Wow. His words “It’s been two years. If saving up for $ wasn’t doable before a baby, it definitely won’t be after a baby” I’m literally appalled. I could care less about losing my $100 non-refundable down payment but to give another cent to this man? Hell no.

Hands down one of my best experiences getting a tattoo here. Everyone was super nice and thoughtful and made it really fun and chill to be there. Got an amazing tattoo done by Jason and can’t wait to get my next tattoo done by him. And loved the location absolutely beautiful!

My friend had an appointment today, so I went along for the ride and ended up doing a walk-in session with Darian! First of all, its a beautiful studio - modern, clean and bright. The staff was extremely nice and helpful!Darian did an amazing job (I got 2 small designs done on my arms). He was meticulous and Im SO happy with how they turned out. My friend and I had a great experience at Bay Ink! Natalie was super friendly, my friend was super nervous and she did a great job calming her nerves the appointment/ piercing itself was super quick. Highly recommend!

The service here is fantastic, I was terrified to get my ears pierced but Natalie did an amazing job and took extra care to make sure that I was completely happy with my piercing. The rest of the crew here is very knowledgable and friendly, their shop is incredibly well run.

Second session with 3rd session with I am was at the new La Jolla location. Great little shop that just opened up, lots of shops available nearby if you need to grab some snacks or something for a long session. Ask them about the parking map so you know where the best parking is!
