I highly recommend Susan for permanent cosmetics. I’ve never enjoyed doing my make-up and rarely use any make-up, so I decided to try permanent eyeliner and eyebrows. I was nervous as I know it’s permanent and if it turned out bad, I’d be stuck with it. So, finding the right person to do the work was crucial. Susan is knowledgeable in her field. She spent time explaining the entire process, so I knew what to expect. She also spent a lot of time before, during, and after to make sure both would turn out amazing and they did! I will recommend her to anyone interested in pursuing cosmetic makeup and will return to her for anything I want done in the future.

I am extremely happy with my eyebrows! After radiation and cancer treatments my brows were sparse and all over the place. Trying to pencil them in myself was frustrating and time consuming. After much research and reading many reviews from different places I was drawn to Susan at Last Impression and I am so grateful I was. Her quality of care, professionalism, artistry, attention to detail, cleanliness and the time she spent with me was beyond what I was expecting. Her passion for her work is truly a gift. Susan is a true artist. I’m nearly 60 and wearing glasses required a magnifying mirror to find my face to get the make up on right. I don’t wear much makeup to start and have never done anything cosmetic, so it took me 2 years to work up the nerve to get my brows done. Finding Susan was the key. Susan really takes the time, is incredibly patient and focuses on what you want as your end result. She is incredibly meticulous which is why she achieves the results she does! Susan focuses on educating you on your options and helps you decide the best “look” for you. She does a really great job of preparing you for how you will look when you walk out of her salon, all the way through to the “healed” result. What really sets Susan apart from others in this field is that she is truly an artist and has taken the time to be educated on color selection and consulting with you on the right eyebrow color based on your skin tone and on whether you will heal “cool” or “warm”. Susan was SO GREAT! She was super informative. You can tell how much experience she has just by all of the information she gives. She totally laid it all out for me and explained everything from getting ready for the procedure, during and aftercare. I knew exactly what to expect going in which helped calm my nerves when the day finally came. The actual procedure was tough, but I felt comfortable telling her when it was painful and she used her magic numbing creams to make me feel more comfortable. I was amazed at how well those worked! My experience at Lasting Impressions was fabulous. At age 66, my brows were thin and pale. My eyebrow pencil was my best friend. My appointment with Susan Grothe ran almost four hours. The first hour plus she designed my brows with care and precision. During the rest of the session Susan constantly told me what she was doing and what I could expect. She is extremely cautious and professional. I felt very safe. Every time I catch a glimpse in the mirror I am so happy. Brows make such a difference in definition and character. I am so pleased with my permanent eyeliner. Susan paid extreme attention to detail in both the execution of the eyeliner and the directions for aftercare. There was hardly any discomfort because she was so engaged in my comfort level and added additional numbing as needed. Not much after pain or swelling. Her aftercare “packet” was much appreciated. I have received many complements and haven’t really missed wearing any other makeup. I am extremely pleased and would recommend Susan for any of her services.

I’m writing this review because if you’re like me and don’t wear make up, you might not think permanent make up is for you. I never would have guessed that I would have ended up at Lasting Impression getting my eyebrows done. Because I don’t wear makeup often, I’m not skilled at applying it, but the lack of color and definition of my eyebrows required daily penciling. It frustrated me that I could never make them look the same. That frustration eventually turned to innocent internet queries and then full blown research, which happened to be the longest and hardest part of the process. Deciding whom to trust to put permanent makeup on my face was a big deal! I spent hours pouring over websites, price checking, photo analyzing, bio and review reading, and ultimately I went with Susan because of her back story. Someone who changes careers mid life, takes the time and effort of schooling (again), beginning a business, and who persists through a global pandemic in this industry must have PASSION. That’s who I wanted to trust to put permanent make-up on my face! Susan’s attention to detail in her workmanship and customer service was top notch. I’m thankful for her care, quality, and attention to the trust I placed in her! I would highly recommend her to others!Now I feel confident with my “wake up and go” face. Susan created brows for me that are 100% customized to my facial bone structure! This is a bit of a longer post, but please read through!I am definitely from the era of “over plucking” and over the years, I destroyed my full brows. Honestly, my thin brows have been one of the only things about my appearance that have made me feel my age (52).I had thought of getting my brows done for years, but fear held me back. My biggest fear was walking out of the salon with brows that looked like they were painted on. We have all seen this typical “cookie-cutter” look, and I certainly did NOT want that.Susan listened intently as I described the end look that I desired. Susan is an artist, but more importantly, she has a wealth of knowledge to draw from including several techniques for applying permanent makeup to brows. This was such a wonderful experience! Susan is so personal, reduces all of one’s anxieties, is so professional, explains everything she is doing and how it will or is affecting you, re;pain? itch?Ok? I must say that I was a little apprehensive but that all vanished once we got started on my eyeliner.
