Came in for a walk in and everyone was super nice and easy to talk to, everyone there helped me over the nervousness of getting my first tattoo and it looks amazing thank you so much to alec, i will 100% be coming back and having them tattoo me again

Went here to get a simple nose ring for my piercing that had fallen out the night before, and the piercer was rude from the moment i walked in the door. also, it was $20 for a literal SILVER hoop. not once did she offer to help me. can’t speak for the tattoo portion, but i would not come here for piercings. bad energy, and wayyy overpriced.

Had a great experience getting my nose and belly button pierced. Was nervous and the woman piercing me was so sweet and understanding the whole time. We had great conversations about her room decor (which is awesome btw). While she was scanning my ID, two more people even asked if we had been helped yet. They have very good customer service and are very sanitary and knowledgeable.

Had my first tattoo done here and nothing but positive feelings. Matt was my artist and made sure I was comfortable and not in too much pain the whole time. Extremely patient with any changes or fixes I wanted. He gives 100% of his effort and takes pride in his art. He made sure to ask questions on how I wanted certain things instead of just doing what he wanted. Phenomenal job on shading and it turned out exactly how I hoped for. He takes his time and makes sure not to rush anything. All around an awesome dude to get along with. Made a 2 hour tattoo feel like 30 minutes. 10000% coming back!

Absolutely love this place. I’ve been going to them since I moved here. The staff is amazing and so is the owner! They are all very talented! I’ve been to other places and there was always a long wait even with an appointment. But with Zen, unless they are busy, there’s really no long wait. They really make you feel welcomed. Love this place!!

After much research, I chose Zen Body Art for my first and only tattoo. I am incredibly happy I did!The place has a good vibe.The artists are professional, friendly, knowledgeable, easy to be around, and communicated clearly. I appreciate that I could go in the early afternoon on the weekend and make an appointment, though I in my case I was a walk in with no wait.(Ask for the artist: Chickenwing, when you go.) 😊✌

Great artists who do custom art from small too big pieces. Known the owner for almost 28 years and he stands behind his work and only brings in the best artists. A lot of artists have also apprenticed there and have only left because of moving on to other cities and states. Some who have stayed are there for 10, 20 plus years. Go check them out and see for yourself.

Huge thanks to Danielle for taking me as a walk-in and piercing my nostril with care and knowledge. i was anxious bc there’s a build-up of scar tissue from previous piercings, but it was no problem at all. i opted for the standard jewelry but they had a stellar selection of other jewelry. i’ll be coming back when it’s time for a jewelry change to purchase a pretty lil somethin somethin. again, thank you danielle for helping me feel like myself again. :)

Lost my nose ring & needed a shop who could put in a new infinity hoop. Very friendly, quick, and pleased with the experience. As someone who is new to the Houston area it was so nice to find a shop I would return to the first time around.

Matt O. was absolutely amazing. He was so patient with me move the phone, answered all my questions, and I never felt rushed. He was able to put together exactly what I wanted. The whole process was easy and smooth. Since it was my first tattoo I was nervous, but Matt made the whole experience calming as can be.

My daughter and I came for her b-day tattoos. I had a drawing my 10 yr old did and It came out amazing! My daughter got a morning scribbles and it looks fantastic. Highly recommend. Very clean , professional. Great priceing. Dustin did both tattoos he was great!

My advice? Just do it! Everyone at the shop is incredible and Rowdy? To die for.Theyre going to be honest with you about what is and isnt possible while still getting as close to what you asked for as they can.Were already planning our next tattoos with Rowdy!!

Came in to get a sister tattoo with my two sisters and came out with a wonderful tattoo on my leg. Dustin did an amazing job on mine and I would gladly come back from Michigan to get tattooed by him again!!

This is not a rating of their work because I was unable to get anything done, but of their customer service. We showed up at 645 on a Friday to get piercings and there was a group ahead of us. The lady at the desk seemed annoyed at us being there and asked us what we wanted done. When we said piercings she said it’s cash only and we lock the door at 7. I definitely felt unwanted by her tone and how she spoke to us. We left and at 648 she locked the door behind us. We went somewhere else another Friday and they were very welcoming and it was a much better experience.

Walked in to get matching mother daughter tattoos. We showed Matt and Dustin what we wanted and they drew it up for us perfectly. They were awesome! We were so happy with their work and their demeanor!! They took their time and made sure it was exactly what we were looking for!! Definitely recommend them!!

I came in as a walk-in with a friend and Avery did a phenomenal job at making feel comfortable and did just as awesome on our tattoos! I have had some pretty rough experiences with tattoos and Avery made sure that this experience was not anything less than perfect!

Had an amazing experience here from the moment we walked in the door. Matt was me and my husbands artist and he was awesome. Very patient with us while we were deciding on size and placement and the tattoos we got came out perfect. Actually better than we had expected!! Absolutely recommend and will definitely be going back to get him to fix an old tattoo.

I had an awesome experience at this shop. Shawn did my tattoo and it was my first big piece. I was super nervous because I have a low pain tolerance but I had wanted this tattoo for a long time and I decided to go for it. Shawn was amazing through the whole process. He showed me his design a couple days before I came in and had no problem changing a couple of things I decided against. When I was getting the tattoo he talked to me throughout the process and distracted me from the pain and made sure I was comfortable. It was supposed to be one session but I was starting to not be able to handle the pain after about an hour and a half and he noticed right away and stopped halfway through and scheduled another session which I was super greatful for. I came back 2 weeks later to finish it up with no problems. Most importantly, the tattoo is gorgeous and looks exactly how I wanted it to. Hes an amazing artist and I highly recommend him, Ill definitely be back again to see him in the future.

Love this place. Dustin is amazing! He really knows his stuff especially when it comes to dealing with African American skin. I asked about a white ink tattoo and instead of giving me what I wanted, he educated me on the pros and cons. Needless to say, I didnt get it. He will tell you what colors look good, if a tattoo has to much detail (if your complexion is darker). He cares about his name and his work. This gave me a tremendous vote of confidence in his abilities. I have had 2 tattoos done by him and I love them! Looking forward to at least 3 more!

I got a Helix piercing from Danielle. Very clean, friendly, and professional. Danielle explained everything and made sure I loved my placement and sterilized everything multiple times. Everyone wore masks and no extras were allowed inside. I would recommend this place if those are your concerns.

(March 2019) Danielle pierced my nose, as well as my mom’s, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone! I had a bad experience with a piercer in the past, and I was really nervous. Danielle made me feel SO comfortable, and I can’t thank her enough!! I will 100% go back for any future piercings!Edit #1 (2019): I forgot to say, we are super grateful that Danielle was willing to stay late because I forgot my ID and had to drive all the way back home to get it!Edit #2: (Jan 5 2021) I came back for a second piercing from Danielle, but I can only post a review once! I would give another 5 starts if I could! Danielle is so sweet! I did my second piercing on my lobes this time. The COVID precautions were great! I recommend Danielle to everyone! :)

I got snake bite piercings done saturday night and the jewelry was too short for my mouth, and the skin started growing over on the insides and got close to closing up. i called zen asking if they could get them out for me because they were screwed on tight. the piercer was super sweet and let me come right away where she got them out quick and painless. she was really nice and professional and gave me some places to buy jewelry for other piercings. overall really good service good piercer will definitely come here when i want my next piercing!!

The artist was very professional and did a great job. My sons and me got matching Celtic cross tattoos . We had an appointment and were a few minutes early and he was already ready for us. Followed all precautions from regular tattoo shop to covid requirements. Absolutely recommend !

Went here about a month before wanting to get my tattoo. I set an appointment and had the idea ready to go then a day before going to get my tattoo, was told there was an emergency and would have to reschedule. No big deal I was fine with that. Then trying to reschedule no one would get back to me. They were nice people but setting something up a month out and then not getting back to me was what got me to not even try. Overall clean studio, nice people but thats about it.

I don’t review often, good or bad, but Zen Body Art would get ten stars if it were an option. I had no idea they were the Bad Boyz crew, where I got most of my tattoos. Now I know where they went when the shop moved from NASA! I went today to get my daith pierced, which I was a little nervous about. Danielle was super knowledgeable, very sweet and kind. Her vibe definitely put me at ease. I know where I’m going for my next piercing! Thank you so much!

I got two tattoos 23 years ago from Rowdy. Ive been wanting another for several years now. I finally pulled the trigger and went back to Bad Boyz, which is now Zen Body Art. To my pleasant surprise Rowdy was still there. He did a cover up on one of the tattoos he gave me 23 years ago. The only reason I got the cover up was because I picked wall art, which had no meaning to me. Rowdy did an amazing wood cross with barbed wire and he did it free handed. I am super happy and cant thank him enough for the great work.My wife also got a tattoo. This was her first tattoo and Isiah did it. She is super happy with her tattoo and said he talked her all the way through it, which helped her with some anxiety about getting a tattoo. Isiah also did a great job.If youre wanting a tattoo, this is the place to go. I plan on getting more and I will only go to Rowdy.Thank you Rowdy and Isiah for your amazing work.

Great experience at bad boyz, Went in and was pleased at how clean the shop was and how friendly the staff was. Little Dustin did a super good job interpreting the information I gave him into a really nice, clean design. It didnt take too long, the price was reasonable and he had a super light hand (very little pain) All things considered a top notch experience and next time Im down that way Ill definitely be returning. It was my first time at this location, I only went for a nose piercing. That wonderful lady who did the piercing was extremely sweet, answered all my questions, in no way rushed me or made me feel like I was wasting her time, I even wanted to get a tattoo priced and she went and got a guy to look at it he was also extremely nice and respectful, I will be returning to this location for the tattoo I got priced and for all my peircing and tattoo needs. The shop is very clean, the staff is wonderful, I can’t say enough great things about this place even though all I got was a piercing. I would and will recommend this place to anyone wanting a piercing or tattoo.

Epic!! Walked in, talked with Dustin. We went over what I wanted and he worked it out faster than Han Solo deciding to shoot first. He was as gentle as could be with the machine. Definitely be going back for more work and recommend seeing these guys for some ink.

I got my nose pierced by Michelle. She was so cool- kind and empathetic. Because I had gotten pretty nauseous the last time I was pierced, she let me hang out for a while after and was extremely patient with my anxiety babbling. Cant recommend her services more.

We just returned from getting a quick tattoo. We came in with just an idea, and David had it drawn up within a few minutes. The tattoo looks great!The studio is very clean and all hygiene standards were followed. Well be visiting again!

Absolutely fantastic experience for my first tattoo, so very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to size placement and design. Its on the back of my leg above my ankle so it was difficult for me to take a good photo but you get the idea. I would 100% recommend this shop!

I got my first tattoo done by Matt O and it was a pretty decent sized tattoo of Alice in wonderland and he did a great job. When I had questions he answered. His hand was light not super heavy. 10/10 would go again.

Just went here the other day with my friend and it was awesome! I got a Dalek tattoo with quite a bit of detail, and my friend got a butterfly with a shadow to make it look like it was flying off her shoulder. Daniel is the guy who did mine and I dont think it could have come out better!

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Danielle pierced my forward helix. I have a lot of piercings, and this experience was definitely the simplest and cleanest.

Recently went for a shoulder/back tattoo from Chicken Wing. I showed some ideas of what I wanted and he placed his own twist on it. The husband was the one who found him and had two small cover ups taken care of on his forearms. Below are the detailed work that was completed by Chicken wing

I went in to get my nipples pierced with gabrielle. She was really nice and she was professional as well, but I dont think she was very experienced because she seemed kind of nervous. My left nipple piercing was pierced higher up than my right one. And my right nipple was pierced completley crooked. The piercing on one side started on the nipple and the came out pn the other side on the areola. Plus she gave me barbells that were extremely tight on the nipple, so tight that my nipple was begenning to suck in the barbells and the piercing site was raw. I texted her a week later asking to come in and put in some bigger ones. She was nice about it, but the rings were not much better, it wasnt until I recently changed out the barbells into some bigger ones that I noticed how terribly placed they were. Oh my god I am so sad and upset about this whole experience, now Ive got to spend the money again to get them repierced and experience the pain all over again. She is a nice person, but she did terribly.

Rowdy (the owner} won me over instantly. I had checked out about a half dozen tattoo shops around town and each one either was way too expensive or they just didnt have a very friendly attitude. This guy is doing a custom piece with my girls names and it is exactly what I wanted... 3d, creative, and unique! I highly recommend Zen!

Awesome place wanted a tatttooo sooo bad today had quite few inconveniences and they were still willing to take me despite my injury from my fingers falling off my skateboard I cannot believe it happened but they were still willing to take me!! Came in to shop, soon as we got there we got helped, my wife wanted our kids names tattooed on her arm and in less then an hr we were out the door happy with the finish result, Isaiah did an amazing job with the names, lines and space between letters to perfection, great information before and after tattoo was done, also gave out helpful information on tattoo care.

I feel like my tattoo was rushed & the artist didnt even care about details he just wanted to get it over with. Just not how I imagined the place to be at all & definitely not a good experience, I wouldve been better off going to a shop I was more familiar with

Got my first tattoo here and now refer everyone I know to this place. Chill vibe and cool people, not to mention Shawn does AMAZING work and is willing to work with you on any ideas you may have.

They suck,I seen chicken wing we drew up my tattoo and he told me 400 for everything and he wanted to do it in two sessions so I could heal some for the shading and stuff and I let him know Im just visiting and going back to Missouri,well he decides to go outta town and says Rodney the owner will finish me up,let me say this also Im a wounded Veteran and fought for this country and I was getting a IR flag as one of my tats,he put 36 stars in there when he couldve went a little smaller and added one more row of 10 and one more to the other four rows,but he really had me believe you couldnt fit 50 stars in there and thats bull he just sucks and how do I look wearing the American flag with less than fifty stars,so I go see Rodney he has this bad attitude from the start trying to get loud with me telling me its impossible so he looks at it and figures it out and so I feel better well part way thru he also had to fix my cav patch thickened the border and straightened some lines on my flag but then stops and tells me Im gonna owe for what hes doing so we argue about it I call my girlfriend in who was there when this chicken wing made the deal and the two sessions,so Rodney says chicken wing said I was just paid up for that day well thats what Rodney says so I refuse to pay more,I did give him twenty five for fixing the stars,so I thought, I get home wash off the blood and ink I got fifty little circles on my flag,they have no respect for veterans and Rodney said his dad was in the Army its a damn shame! So Im gonna get a lawyer and sue them to fix this mess they made,I will never go back and dont recommend anyone go there,Ive been thru enough I shouldnt have had to deal with that or this,Hes lucky I called my girlfriend in there to give me my pill that calms me down and I didnt wanna go to jail or I wouldve knocked him out. He got loud with me,had an attitude,tried to con me,and screwed my arm up! Its enough to make anyone mad!

Tattoo doesnt look like the picture I showed them. Very upset. Getting a coverup when it is healed. 4 stars for the people there but the artwork on my arm is so upsetting I am getting it covered or removed.

I’m no where from this area visiting some family and my conch piercing came off loose last week and the ball to the earring fell off and they helped put it in no charge and girl was nothing but nice!!
