I am SO happy I listened to the Google reviews of this shop & my piercer Jacky! She was incredibly patient and explained the whole process very well as I was super nervous to get my nose pierced. I told her I have a history of passing out with blood work and wasn’t sure how this would go, and she was so kind and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The process was quick and easy and I had such a positive experience!! I also got my third earlobe piercings done which went great as well. I cannot recommend Jacky enough!

I got my snake bites done with Jacky on march 29th AMAZING experience she walked me through each step as well as was extremely gentle they did it quickly so I didn’t really feel anything!! And they were super sweet they also helped get my gauges unstuck (LOL) but overall an amazing person to get pierced by HIGHLY recommend and was super sweet when we changed my bars from the long bars to the short bars again highly recommend!!! - Ashton

I called the shop nervous because I had a nose piercing done at Dimensions on the boardwalk and while I was drying my face the towel ripped my piercing out and I couldn’t get it back in because it was a corkscrew stud. Jackie told me to come in and she would help me. She was amazing I picked out a new stud that was way more comfortable then the corkscrew and she put it in for me luckily I got there in time before the hole closed up. Thanks again Jackie I will be coming back!!!!

Ask for Jacky to do your ear piercing! She is kind, professional and explains the process (that is if you really want to know)! Lol! We were walk-ins and just had a brief wait time and were back out very quickly. Lewes location is a great place and the reviews can be trusted!

Jacky is so amazing, she does a great job! I saw her awhile ago to get my septum done and today I got my snake bites done. I love both of my piercings and she did amazing with them. I would recommend anyone who is looking to get a piercing to go to her. Amazing service and an amazing person. ♡

I got my navel pierced by Jacky here! The whole experience was wonderful and it’s obvious she really knows what she’s doing. I found her on insta and reached out to her about getting re-pierced and she promptly answered me and all of my questions. Now a few days later i have a beautiful new navel piercing! I had one done before but she still walked me through the process and made sure i was comfortable with everything she was doing. She’s very professional and obviously loves what’s she’s doing. If i want any other piercings she’s the first on my list. 10/10 recommend.

I had the best experience and my tattoo turned out great! I walked in / little before closing time and the gentleman took the time to draw what I wanted and took his time to make sure it was exactly how I wanted . I def recommend going back . I have sat with Tyler for 7 sessions now and will not go anywhere else. The shops crew make the experience more than enjoyable with good conversation and chill vibes. Tyler is extremely professional and punctual with every session and he tops the experience with his rad ideas. The shop is always clean and welcoming. If your looking to get work done this is the place for sure.

I have been going to ancient art for a couple years now and have gotten my all my tattoos done by Bones. I’m very happy with all of my tattoos and always enjoy the hospitality from bones when I get work done. Very clean atmosphere and never felt uncomfortable. I am going to continue going back to finish a couple more from Bones!

Went in for a last-minute fix because my vertical labret fell out while visiting Delaware and Jordan Jones was eager to help. I only had my piercing for ~three weeks~ when the jewelry fell out unexpectedly. He made sure to go slow and be gentle with it so attempting to open the piercing back up did not hurt me. He was vocal about what he was doing and asked me many times if he was hurting me at all. I appreciate the communication he gave. Overall wonderful piercer.

I had gotten my ears pierced here about a year ago and had an amazing experience with my piecer and was saddened to hear she was no longer at this location. i got a navel piercing yesterday at ancient and had just as great of an experience with another piercer! jacky was super thorough about her cleanliness, as well as being super comforting during the process. she explained what she was doing, as well what i would likely feel when she was doing it. my belly button looks amazing and seems to be healing well! highly recommend!

It is my birthday and all I wanted was a tattoo so I called to see if they take walk-ins and the girl that answered the phone was SUPER nice! We drove over right away since she said they do and were empty. When my husband and I walked in we were greeted by a man with long grey hair. I let him know I called about walk-in and he immediately seemed annoyed. I asked if we were there at a bad time or something. We were made to feel like a burden to the artist and felt very uncomfortable. We made the decision to leave and headed to another shop that welcomed us graciously! We will never go back and will never send anyone there. I guess that man doesnt like money.

Tyler did an amazing job with our tattoos. My wife and I came in with a vaguely constructed concept of what we wanted. Tyler is a frank honest professional that used his experience to create a clean lined elegant expression of our love and commitment

Jordan is the best! He was very friendly and professional. I got a “hook and antler heart” tattoo with my wife’s name written inside with the fishing line. I was able to tell him exactly what I wanted and he drew it right up and nailed the tattoo! It was my first tattoo and I was nervous, but he made me feel comfortable and it was a great experience! Went in on my birthday to get something and Jordan was so friendly and helpful. He did an awesome job on my Delaware tie dye tattoo. My mom got one from him a few weeks after. I definitely recommend him! We will definitely be going back!

Just had a wonderful piercing experience with Jordan. Feel super grateful that I had him as a piercer because he was patient and knowledgeable with all the questions and concerns that I had. He even quoted an old piercing book when asked about the validity of a piercing claim — which just shows how much passion he has for his craft. Jordan was actually able to explain why a piercing had gone awry at another place and I had to go over my history several times for him to feel comfortable enough to even advise the piercing. Definitely felt my concerns were heard which is extremely important. Jordan put me completely at ease and the experience was as close to painless as possible. Highly recommend seeing Jordan!

My mom and I walked in kind of on a whim and Bones was able to give us matching tattoos. It was a great experience and would 100% go back.

I had my nipples pierced here by Jordan a week ago, and he exceeded my expectations. I was a bit nervous, but he took his time, made me laugh, and by the time we got to the actual piercings I felt very comfortable with him. He did a great job, they’re perfectly placed and healing so well. Honestly it was the best piercing experience I’ve ever had and I can’t wait to come back here for more

I got second holes in my earlobes and a nose piercing by Jackie. She is amazing! She made me feel comfortable when I was nervous, she communicated everything and was extremely professional. My two friends and I had been wanting to get matching tattoos for over a year. I called the shop and explained to Jordan what we had in mind. By the time we got there, he had drawn a few different versions of our idea. We agreed on the design and he got to work on giving us exactly what we wanted. Jordan is the absolute best and the only person I will ever trust with my ears again. I had a piercing emergency and I came in a crying mess. He calmed me and he helped me right away - painlessly and with a smile. The space is lovely and they have a lot of great inventory to choose from. Highly recommend Jordan for all your piercing needs.

Got my daith peirced recently with Jacky. She was so unbelievably kind and patient. She really takes the time to walk you through what to expect and whats happening throughout the process. Painful yet good experience

I wanted a small and delicate tattoo of a daffodil with my daughter name spelled out in the stem. I specifically did research in the town that my daughter was born in (Lewes). I came across this tattoo shop and saw some of Bones work which I thought was really good. He drew up the stencil and it looked good. The tattoo didn’t take 10 minutes. I couldn’t see the end results before I left because the tattoo was wrapped which caused my skin to wrinkle and the ink was smeared across the tattoo making it hard to see. I took the wrap off a day later and panicked when I saw the tattoo and the lines. It looks like a doodle straight out of a notebook. The end results was rushed and spotty. It didn’t quite look the the stencil he applied. I suspected that it was rushed because he had a regular client come in the same time he started on me. He charged me $150 in the end. I’ve would have paid more for a better tattoo but a $150 seems crazy for this. It’s on my neck and I’ve had nothing but negative comments about it. Unfortunately I will have to cover it up. I did receive this tattoo a couple months ago. It’s taken me a while to think if I should say something or not but the more I look at it the more frustrated I get. I’ve seen and received better tattoos for the price I was charged. Bones has lovely work but this isn’t it.(Edit response)I’m not sure how I was contacted. I didn’t receive any email or phone call. The artist did NOT explain or mention anything about the tattoo size or placement being an issue. He seemed very confident and didn’t say much. The only thing that was discussed was the price and placement of the tattoo which Bones mentioned no concerns of. The tattoo is about as long as my ear. I didn’t think detailing would be an issue considering nothing was said. I know Bones is a great artist from viewing his work and I’m sure he has plenty of returning clients. Unfortunately I will not be returning. Respectfully, I’m not comfortable with having it touched up considering what I’ve paid and ended up with.

I took my daughter for a nose piercing. Jordan a fantastic job. He took time to review the procedure with her and make her feel comfortable. He explained each step of the process while completing the piercing. Jordan took time to be sure she was comfortable and safe.

I can’t recommend Ancient Art, and their Piercer Jacky enough. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the shop is super clean. I got my septum pierced, and I can hardly put into words the time and care that Jacky took to not only make sure the piercing turned out literally perfect, but also to make sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. I won’t go anywhere else to get piercings. If you’re even thinking about it just go see them! You won’t regret it.

We were a group of four who stopped in as walk ins for piercings with Emily and Jacky. They were a super star team who took amazing care of us. We had very little wait time before our services. We each got lobe piercings and one helix. Both Jacky and Emily made sure to keep their spaces cleaned and organized the entire time we were there. We all got great information about how the piercings were going to be done and how to care for them after. Their work and eye for artistry was stellar. We felt welcomed, comfortable, and had fun! Thank y’all for a wonderful high vibe experience.

I want to start off by saying I really do not enjoy writing negative reviews. I have gotten several piercing from this location in the past when Emily was the piercer as well as a different apprentice— conch, lobes, septum, and nostril. I took my septum out on a whim and over time it closed, but I wanted to get it redone. Having had amazing experiences here in the past, I called and was excited. While I had a great experience with Jordan’s personality, unfortunately this septum piercing was very poorly done. I’ve attached a photo. Not only was it pierced completely unevenly— confirmed by professionals at Agape body piercing studio in Dover— the jewelry itself has two different sized ball bearings. Immediately after the piercing Jordan asked me if my septum was deviated, said it was swelling, and offered to repierce it ‘if the swelling didn’t go down’. Red flag. When I left there was pen on my nose and blood on my face. I tried to see if the septum would heal and be salvageable; however, I had to take it out because it was so ridiculously uneven. The fact that the balls on the jewelry are completely different sizes displays a lack of care that is concerning. My cartilage was pierced instead of the sweet spot. I paid over $100 to bleed, get mismatched jewelry, and have a crooked hole in my nose. I can’t speak to other piercing, but as far as septum’s go, please be careful with your face. When the ladies at Agape saw what was done they gasped in shock and horror and apologized that this happened to me.

My friends and I walked in and received the best service by Jordan. Two of us got tattoos and one got a piercing. He was so nice and made us all feel so comfortable! We would definitely go back!

Emily is a phenomenal piercer! She goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable, as well as being very particular with how your pierced. The wait was well worth it. Iv had many piercings and she is honestly a breath of fresh air, and let’s not forget her apprentice. She was amazing as well, the pair of them were great together. (Thanks for drying my tears as they watered) Hands down best place, and would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Jordan is an absolute blast. Ive never had a piercing but have wanted my nose done for years. He was quick, hilarious, and very well trained in his field. He wasnt aware, but Im a Nurse Practitioner.I was very impressed.

Got a conch piercing done, worked with jacky she was fantastic. She explained literally everything step by step what she doing and why it was practice to ensure the piercing experience is as memorable as possible. Jacky is newer to piercing so she was an apprentice under Emily. Emily watched and gave advice where needed. Jacky did a wonderful job with my piercing that I felt a million percent comfort with her work she will go far and is confident in her progress. Will definitely be open to going to get more piercings in the future! Shout out to you both for being so fantastic and making the entire visit fell like home and so friendly

I got my belly button pierced today with Emily and she was awesome. She was very cleanly and made sure I was well educated on how to properly heal my piercing. She had an apprentice with her as well and they both made us feel so welcomed. 10/10 recommend this shop!! She even said if we have any problems or questions to reach out which is always nice to have.

Jackie was a very sweet young girl who pierced my forward helix. 2 weeks and $102 later I am now at school in North Carolina at s studio to come to find out I was severely over charged and she pierced my ear very incorrectly. Not only was the piercing pretty much on the side of my face, the back of the earring started to cut and embed into the crevice of my ear. I got the piercing removed today and now have to wait a month for it to heal due to the damage until I can re-pierce it.

Jordan helped me change my vertical labret jewelry that was too long and he was the sweetest and most helpful person. I felt so comfortable talking with him and he was so personable and funny. I would definitely go to him again.

I saw Tyler for a small piece on the inside of my elbow & he was phenomenal!! My experience was just like hanging with friends! & the tattoo turned out better than I ever wanted! I had such an incredible experience getting my first tattoo this weekend! Tyler did an amazing job with the artwork, placement, and answered all of my questions throughout the process! I got some jewelry changed and a daith piercing from Emily today. She was amazing- super patient with all of my questions and took a ton of time to explain the process of what she was doing as she did it. She spent a ton of time discussing aftercare with me and I could tell that she is passionate about what she does. I would 100% return and recommend this shop to anyone!

Emily pierced my nose and Bones did a small wave and script tat. I’m almost 60 and besides having pierced ears this was my first!!! First tat also! They made me feel very comfortable and they did a fantastic job! I live in WV but if I decide to get more tattoos or piercings, I want them to do it! It was an exciting, great experience! Absolutely LOVE this shop! My husband and I walked in to get memorial tattoos for our son. The staff are so kind, calming and welcoming! I got my nose pierced by Emily a few months ago. This was my first facial piercing, and I was nervous, but Emily was so sweet and patient with me. She explained every step of what she was doing, and let me take my time choosing the placement of the piercing. She explained aftercare thoroughly and has provided support during the healing process. I would absolutely let Emily poke me again, and recommend her services without hesitation.

I wanted to thank Emily so so much for her professionalism, knowledge, and comfort she provided me yesterday. I can barely feel my nipple piercings and I am even more happy than I imagined I could be! Everyone is different and my anatomy I think helped lessen the pain but it really wasn’t even half as bad as I was expecting! And ultimately sooo worth it! I’ve wanted them for years and I just feel even more confident and happy with myself now. Shop was a clean and chill environment. Awesome place with even better people Em is phenomenal for piercings. Tyler did a ridiculously great job on my tattoo and its the new home of the legendary Bones Ill be getting all of my work done here from now on. I went in Ancient Art today to get a piercing redone and redone properly and I don’t even know where to begin. Emily was beyond so comforting and helpful and did a PHENOMENAL job. Tyler is an amazing artist with great energy. During my tattoo experience he was focused on making sure I felt comfortable while also genuinely greeting anyone that entered the shop. His portfolio has a great range of styles and he was able to create a unique piece that beautifully fit what I was looking for.

I have had several tattoos and of them all my experience at Ancient Art has been the best! The shop is clean and the Artists professional. Tyler really went the extra mile. He listened to and then clarified to make certain he understood what it was I wanted. My tat is on the front of my hip which means exposure to the other artists and the public could have been an issue, but Tyler took the time to make certain that my dignity was kept intact. He was engaging and compassionate. Ive just gone for a touch up ( white ink does not like my skin) and Tyler was a total gem. He guarantees his work and so there was no fee for the touch up. I just got my nose pierced yesterday by Emily and she was so nice and made the process quick, easy, and pleasant. It didnt even hurt. It seems like she really knows what she is doing and is very informative about piercings will definitely be going back for my next piercing.

Em is genuinely the best piercer i’ve ever been to, I’d give a million stars if i could, coming from someone who’s been pierced around 20 times throughout my life. They have the best jewelry, they go into detail with the aftercare, and they follow up with you afterwards about your healing process and let you know when it’s time to change the jewelry. Also the sweetest person ever!! I am absolutely in love with my high nostrils and will be back for more piercings for sure.

First off, the hospitality from the start was superb. Ancient Art is one of the only places thatll take walk-ins in a supremely busy area and busy season. A group of us walked in and Tyler greeted us and got us in the chair within 30 minutes. He was such a genuinely nice guy and as an artist, had a steady hand with wicked attention to detail and creative ability. The art he put on me might be my favorite tattoo--and Ill be back to add to it. If youre looking for a place that can likely take you same day/same hour, THIS is your place. Their artists are incredible, hospitality great, and prices very reasonable. Id recommend it to anyone.

This was my first piercing in awhile and Emily made me so comfortable - she was clearly so knowledgeable, and answered all my questions so patiently. The Buddha jewelry is BEAUTIFUL and super high quality - I’m so glad they had those options while my piercing is healing vs. just the basic jewelry, I would be anxiously waiting to change out. Obsessed with the result and Emily’s diligence with sterilizing and aftercare has made healing so much better than I anticipated.

MJ Brownson, Martin is my hero. He is an amazingly talented artist. His paintings and drawings are original and beautiful and his tattoo work reflects his artistic talent. His detailed line work and shading is unlike anything Ive ever seen. So beautiful, detailed and long lasting. He is light handed with the tattoo gun but his detailed work stays stunning and gorgeous though out the years. I dont know how he does it. Artist magic? He is so light handed and gentle but his tattoo work does not fade at all and stays detailed and beautiful as the day he did it. After the first time I got a tattoo from him I decided I want him to do many, many more. His work is so impressive, detailed, beautiful, unique and stays as beautiful as the day he did it through out many years. Im so impressed with his work I wish I could be in his tattoo station every day!! I need to grow some extra skin for him to tattoo because it is so beautiful. I love this mans work!!

I brought my daughter in to have her septum and helix pierced by Jordan. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely be back for more piercings.

Piercer was kind and place was cool, but definitely left feeling like i was scammed. walked in to get a top piece for a piece of jewelry that fell off. they charged me ten dollars for this piece, fine, albeit more expensive than i thought. it wasn’t until later that the piercer told me they didn’t have the right piece, meaning i’d need to purchase a bar for an additional eleven dollars. i reluctantly accepted. during this process, i specifically asked about the size of the jewelry, as it matches a piece of jewelry that i have on the same ear(!!) and noticed that the one the piercer had was substantially larger(!!). after asking about this, the jeweler told me that the gauge they had was just to show me as an example and told me they’d get the correct gauge. it wasn’t until many hours later after checking my ear that i noticed the jewelry they had put in was the noticeably larger size!! now, that’s probably on me for not checking immediately after, but the piercer had also not asked me anything about it afterwards. they had not asked me how it looked or prompted me to look, as many piercers do after putting in jewelry. i had assumed they got the correct size! they said they were going to use a smaller size! it is noticeably larger!! and they are right next to each other!!!! you can obviously see the difference!! now, not only was i down TWENTY-ONE DOLLARS for a replacement top piece, but i also had been given the wrong size! if that isn’t enough, i also purchased a neilmed piercing solution bottle from them for ten dollars (reasonable price, i must admit) that didn’t work!!! it would just barely spray any saline solution, instead just spurting out air unless held upside down and held down very hard. even then, not much would even come out. and now, today, it won’t even spray anything! and it is still fairly full! i just got it a few days ago.so, to wrap up, i am now down $31 dollars on jewelry that is the WRONG SIZE and a piercing aftercare solution that DOES NOT WORK. i would give one star, but the piercer was kind and the store seemed pretty chill. had some fun movies on. i understand that pricing is affected by location, but if i’m going out so far and paying so much i would hope that i at least get what i want. won’t come back again. am very frustrated.

Stopped for a walk in and was amazingly surprised by service. Saw tattoo artist Jordan, he made me feel extremely comfortable and did such amazing work. Will be returning 🤠

This place seemed great at first but when we walked in immediately the sketchiness started. My friend and I got piercings while we were on vacation. We had the piercer named Bones. He seemed like he was just flying by the seat of his pants. He just made up the price of the earring. He explained to us that this was the best type of earring you could ever put in your ear. Well they I got home within 5 days the ball to my earring popped off something that shouldn’t happen but I went to shop to get it fixed. Two days later it popped back off. I went to a different shop to get it put back on and the guy there explained to me how it was the cheapest possible type of jewelry you could put in your ear. It is bendable and just not something that is good to be in your skin. I’m very disappointed I was lied to and don’t think that is something that is wrong. I definitely would not recommend this shop.Update...The owner of the shop contacted and handled the situation very well. I was told that things will be taken care of to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Whole crew is rad and gives out of this world service from every aspect. From the time you enter until the time you leave you will feel comfortable, at home, and welcome in the atmosphere. Jacky did a rook piercing for me today and she did great! she was really clear in telling me everything she was doing and I felt like I was in very good hands. I love it!

I had to remove the piercing in my cartilage before time due to surgery and Emily was great. Very accommodating in reinserting following surgery. She was very professional and proficient. I highly recommend her.

I got my naval pierced here and im so happy I did. I called 30 minutes before closing and the person who does the piercing there was extremely nice and told me he could do it now for me. He took his time and explained everything to me. I barley even felt the piercing! Everyone is friendly and place is very clean..Would highly recommend him and this establishment to anyone!

Emily is the best piercer! It took a lot for me to get my piercings and I started at 48 years old. My ears look great and I get plenty of compliments.

My granddaughter and I were in Dewey beach for the weekend. She turned 18 in January and has been planning her tattoos for a while now.. we went to another tattoo shop first ,close to Rehoboth beach and were ignored by the 2 people working there we left kinda discouraged. We went down the coastal highway and decided to go into ancient art tattoos and check out their flash. What a difference. We were greated as we were coming in the door. The artist was tattooing a customer but took the time to talk to my granddaughter and find out what she was thinking of getting. The other 2 people there turned out to be the owners, my granddaughter felt comfortable and at ease with the service she was seaking. We made an appointment for the next day. Her tattoo is perfect, he tweaked it alittle and she loves it. Thank you so much for making her first tattoo experience amazing. We live 2 hours away but will be making more appointments for her next 30 tattoos. Oh and by the way the pricing was also great.

I went to get my 4th piercing on myearlobes. I worked with Emily who was such a light. She was super attentive and helpful throughout the process. I love working with people who are passionate about the work they do — and Emily embodied that. I highly recommend this studio.

The piercer did a great job on both me and my fiancé! I got both nipples pierced and he got his second nipple pierced. No problems! It’s been about a month and they’re healing nicely. I definitely recommend this place!!!

Had a daith piercing done by CJ a week ago. He was SO amazing!! Other than the initial sting of the needle, I have had no problems with it. It looks great and everyone has complimented me on it! And yes, I have seen my headaches diminish significantly! I am definitely a believer!

This is a very professional studio. I have know Bones for better than 30 years. He is one of the few artist in this area I will consider using. I have been watching the work of other artist. I got a tattoo by Matt Perez and was so unbelievably happy with my tattoo. I had been following his work for quite some time and could finally afford to get a custom dragon and Chrysanthemum piece by him. Very friendly. My sister and I walked in and were treated immediately.. Sadly my tattoo blew out it was on the bottom of my foot and it was the artists first time doing it... but now I have lettering with a halo effect around each one. Pretty bummed.Edit: the hall went away after a few weeks.. it looks great 2 years later!!!

I got my piercings here, but my follow ups were completely ignored. Nobody would answer the phone, appointments kept getting dropped- it’s almost as if they don’t want to make money.

Since I posted that 5 star review, my favorite artist has moved to a new location. And my other favorite artist there has also moved on to other opportunities. I can no longer be confident that Ancient Art Tattoo is the best place to get ink.

It is by far the best tattoo studio it is a little hidden behind Matts fish camp. Stop in and talk to the artists and see there work. I have over 20 tattoos and all but 2 have been from there and I am very pleased with the outcome of the work.

Hands down one of the easiest piercers to communicate with and sit with, I could chat with her all day long. Very efficient and I was in and out in maybe 20 minutes. Will continue to go back!
