Matt Brown and his team are some of the most talented artists in the area. But what I enjoy most is the friendly environment and culture that the Black Rose team has. After being tattooed by Matt a number of times I started bringing my 2 year old son to the barbershop to get a haircut. Derek is great with him, its quickly become my son’s favorite place to be!

My dog recently passed at 16 years old and I wanted to get a portrait of him tattooed. When I found Matt Brown on instagram, I knew he was the perfect artist for the job. Matt is one of the best black and gray artists in the country, and his work speaks for itself. The portrait came out amazing as expected, and the whole experience was perfect. Their new shop in Londonderry is amazing! Every detail of the shop was meticulously designed. They also have a barber shop where I had my beard trimmed; top notch service and quality as well. If you’re looking for the most talented artists and highest quality experience, Blvck Rose is the only choice!

Ive been tattooed extensively by the owner Matt Brown. I cannot stress enough how kind, talented and comforting this individual is. Whether you are a seasoned tattoo meat slab or a first timer, this man will make you feel at ease and will provide you with the finest service money can buy you in the northeast portion of the United States. The fact that this dude and this shop spits pure New England is just an added bonus. I intend to return to have a full back piece completed in the future and highly recommend this first class establishment to anyone and everyone. Yet to get a cut there but for the love of god give them your money. Top notch tattoo experience. Do not be fooled by imitators or haters.

Derek Nordgren cuts my sons hair and makes the experience very enjoyable for him. He’s 4.5 and very shy but he LOVES going to see Derek now and says he feels “so cool” when we leave. As a mom this makes my heart so happy to hear him say and grateful he gets that little confidence boost. All the guys over at Blvck Rose are good dudes. Highly recommend!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Ive tried a couple barber shops in the area; Black Rose is definitely the best! Miquela did an amazing job and I will be only going here from now on. Upper arm piece with Matt Brown took two sessions and words can’t describe how positive an experience it was, let alone the final product. Matt makes what can be a bit painful, an enjoyable experience with his sense of humor and stories. He is great company!Now the important part - finished product. After the first session of my Ullmark/Swayman goalie hug, I was always getting looks and compliments around the amount of detail in the tattoo. Went back for a second session this time squeezed in at an expo and people were stunned by it. Words can’t do it justice, so once healed and tegaderm removed I will follow-up with photos. Skill, talent, and attention to detail - Matt is the greatest around. 10/10, 5 stars.

You can’t go wrong with any of the artists here, they are all incredible but Matt Baker is legit. Also the shop is incredibly nice, well thought out, and pristine.

I recently went to Blvck Rose Collective to get my first tattoo done by Matthew Brown. I spent alot of time researching different artists over New England and once I saw his work I knew I had found the right artist. As soon as I walked in I was amazed at how awesome the shop looked. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The design that Matt came up with was even better than what I was hoping for. Matt explained the whole process and made me feel very comfortable leading up to the start of the project. The tattoo came out perfect and Im looking forward to adding on to the project. This shop is very upscale! They greet you at the door. The waiting area is very roomy & comfortable and there’s complimentary drinks and snacks. I started my tattoo with Matt Baker. He is extremely professional & personable. I have several tattoos & Matt is the first artist to ever explain to me the process of how the ink gets into skin & difference between tattooing tight vs. loose skin as this tattoo is going to cover both areas. Conversation, ambiance & music was awesome. Can’t wait to finish my tattoo.

Matthew Brown the Best Tattoo artist I’ve ever gotten work. He’s an amazing human being, really makes you feel at home when you’re in there. He’s done two portraits for me, one of my daughter and one of my brother who passed away. They are very meaningful to me and I can honestly say they look too real at times. I travelled from Maine to Black Rose Collective for a sick leg tattoo to add to my sleeve. Without a doubt, this is the most professional, high-class tattoo establishment I have ever been in. Derek does AMAZING work! The staff are incredible and they have EXCELLENT customer service. They had snacks, a comfortable waiting area, and Derek had a TV to watch while being tattooed which was super cool. I will never go anywhere else, and you shouldnt either. I booked my memorial piece with Matt Baker. After multiple recommendations & checking out his work I knew there was no one better to tackle this tattoo.Upon walking in the entire place was immaculately & meticulously kept. I was warmly greeted and filling out paperwork in the lounge area was a breeze. They offer complimentary snacks and drinks in case you need anything. I wasnt really sure where I wanted this piece to go but Matt was a huge help in explaining the lines and angles of the tattoo and where it would look best!The physical setting up of the machine and inks is what really makes me most anxious but his cordless machine only took moments to set up and I was far more intrigued than nervous!Matt has the lightest most gentle hand Ive ever felt getting a tattoo and when I say this experience was painless I *truly* mean it.Matt was extremely respectful and professional the entire time & really made my whole time there comfortable and enjoyable.I couldnt be happier with the outcome & if I ever need a similarly styled piece I will absolutely be booking with Matt again!12/10 I highly recommend

Back Rose Collective is a top notch facility. From the moment I walked in I felt like special. Everyone was so kind and friendly. Dani at the front is the sweetest, she made me feel like we had been friends for years. My tattooer Matthew Baker was absolutely incredible. Not only did I come to my tattoo appointment with a different idea (to create a half sleeve) but I still wasn’t sure about placement on my arm. He took his time and helped me find the perfect spot. My tattoo went without ease, he has such a gentle touch I barely felt it. He made me feel like we had been friends for years and was very professional. Matt Brown the owner stopped in to make sure I was doing good and felt comfortable. Very genuine people and top class facility!

Fabulous experience all around! Derek Gardner tattooed my daughter and I and we love our tattoos!! Derek’s personality and artistic skills are both top notch! The business itself is beautiful! I’ve been a customer/friend of Matt for close to 10 years now! After over 60 tattoos from Matt, I can say without question that he is not only an amazing artist but even better friend. I have been to other shops and there are many talented artist out there… but Matt just has a way with people and is the only person I feel comfortable spending this much time with. His character is beyond question! Since opening the new shop I’ve had the pleasure of meeting the rest of the team. They are all amazing! Derek is an amazing Barber and has earned my trust! After about 30 years of cutting my own hair.. I’ve now ditched the clippers and put my trust in Derek. There is not enough stars out there for this shop!

This place is beautiful! Every corner of the shop is spotless— the cleanest shop I’ve ever seen. An added bonus is the unique artistic design of the space, as eye candy to enjoy while you’re there. It’s clear that there is great care taken in the client experience here. The staff is exceptional— warm, welcoming, and professional. While my service was for tattooing, the barber shop was spacious with lots of room for the many walk-ins that came in during my time there. The tattooing is top notch, but what really sets this place apart is the feeling you walk out the door with. It is absolutely worth checking out!

I take my son here and the people there are so nice! The last time he had a haircut scheduled he ended up getting sick the day before. I called the morning of the appointment to cancel and they were so good about it. I felt bad because Derek would miss out on money so I offered to pay for the appointment. They didnt accept the money but thanked me for the offer and were happy I didnt bring him in to get everyone else sick and just wanted him to feel better. They were super nice about it. My son really likes how Derek cuts his hair. Its taken a few years to find someone he actually likes. Highly recommend this place!

Matt is the best artist and and even better person. I am lucky to have been to him twice and both times I feel like a BOSS walking out. EVERY person who works at BRC is rad as hell. From design to finish work you will not find a cooler shop. Matt is a first-rate guy. BRC is a great spot for beautiful tattoos. And Blvck Rose Collective is a superb experience.

Today was my first time in the shop. Derek gave me a tour to make sure was comfortable and knew where everything was. Drinks? Snacks? You kidding me? This place has it all. This shop is amazing! Great environment and everyone was really welcoming. I’ve been to other shops where it almost feels like you are intruding when you walk in, but that’s not the vibe at Black Rose. I was really nervous getting such a large tattoo for the first time, but Matt made it so easy. The full day session flew by and I’m so happy with how it turned out.

I’ve been seeing Matt since 2015, when he worked in Maine. Not only has he been an open and honest artist, but he busts out amazing pieces every time he sits down. So cool to see the new shop and so excited to see how huge it gets in the coming years, an amazing person and shop owner. Blvck Rose Collective is an unbelievable spot. Derek is one of the most talented barbers I have ever had cut my hair, before Derek moved shops I used to drive over 30 mins to have him cut my hair (do the same if you live anywhere close to this shop). I personally was only there for a haircut but both the tattoo shop and barber shop are awesome. You will not be disappointed with a cut from Derek or with the shop in general.

I found Black Rose Collective on Instagram and instantly loved Derek Gardners work. The shop is immaculate and has a very unique look/vibe.The second I walked in, Dani greeted me and got me set up for my appointment. She checked on me and made sure I was all set while waiting in the lounge area. She was great!I’m absolutely obsessed with my tattoo, Derek is insanely talented. I came in with an inspo picture and Derek’s design blew it out of the water. I didn’t even leave my tattoo appointment yet and my husband was already messaging him to get an appointment!Honestly it’s my best tattoo to date. I’m constantly referring people to Derek and giving out his instagram. You need to check him and the shop out!

I’ve been to tons of tattoo parlors for my tattoos and Black Rose Collective easily takes the cake for being the best. The studio itself is immaculate - super clean. Each tattoo artist has their own private room, each with a large TV for streaming, snacks, drinks, music, etc. My tattoo itself is hands down the most detailed, impeccable tattoo I have. I can’t count the amount of people that have commented on it. If you’re looking for the perfect tattoo experience from start to finish, you’ve found it!

Derek gave me an awesome hair cut and trimmed up my beard. The shop is amazing, the equipment is brand new, the chairs are comfortable, all the staff was polite and friendly. For the class of the facility and quality of the cut the price was cheap. Don’t have a negative thing to say about Black Rose, I’ll be back soon.

I brought my two toddlers in for haircuts today and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Derek was so patient and kind to them, he slowed down for my younger son to make sure he was comfortable with the buzzers, combs, etc. (I made sure to book the last appointments of the day as to not hold him up for other clients).Toddler haircuts are no easy feat so to find someone that only knocked it out of the park but that also made it fun for the kids is a huge win! The barbershop itself is clean and inviting, we will for sure be back. Thank you again, Derek!

I have brought my boys and myself to this shop a few times now since Blvckrosecollective opened and I must say it’s the best around. Cleanest shop I have ever stepped foot in and a fantastic professional crew inside. Been seeing Derek for cuts for a long time and followed him on his journey to BRC. Matt the owner is a great guy and is extremely personable welcomes everyone as you walk through the door. It’s an hour drive for me and it is well worth it.

Do NOT go to Derek for a haircut.….you will never be able to go anywhere else.I came to town for a wedding, and got a rare walk-in spot with Derek.Im not a “haircut” guy- I’ve always been pretty standard and happy with my Great Clips cut but NOW i see what the difference is when you go to a barber like Derek.It was the best haircut of my life. This is an issue because I live out of town so now I’ll always be comparing whatever lame haircut I get to the one with Derek…It was the real deal barber experience, shave, the fade, and all kinds of extras that made me look better than I have in yearsBook an appointment with caution because you’ll never want to go anywhere else.

Awesome shop! I went to see an artist who was doing a “guest spot” there temporarily and was so impressed with the cleanliness and environment! The other artists were so pleasant and the owner checked in multiple times to see if we needed anything. I was lucky enough to see some of their in progress work while there and both were incredible!

The shop is gorgeous and new! Check out the floors. I got tattooed here at a guest spot with Angela. Everyone was really chill and nice, I forgot her name but the front desk manager ordered us lunch and they have snacks, drinks, etc. Also very easy parking. Great place to get tattooed.

I live in town and got my first cut last week. Great setup, super clean and Kyle put it down on my fade. Super easy to setup an appointment at the front desk or online. Definitely will be be back.
