The staff is supernice, and the place is clean, organized, and hygienic. The procedure rooms are private, clean, and quiet.Loved the quiet, confident, and calming energy of Kathryn. She was patient, and readily helpful in finalizing the positioning of the piercing to my satisfaction.Wish I had gone here sooner! Worth every penny!Greatly recommended!
*Updated review. The store reached out to me and offered me a refund. I’m grateful they made an exception. They also noted that they are looking at the outer cabinet jewelry to make sure this doesn’t happen again.*Unfortunate experience with jewelry purchaseI purchased a beautiful pair of earrings that were around $60 on sale from the Lynnwood location. They have a clear sign that says no exchanges and no returns. I felt like that was fine because I really love these earrings. Please note, they do not let you try on jewelry in the store before you purchase it.Now that I’ve been home and tried on my new earrings, I realize they gave me two “right side” earrings. For some earrings that does not matter, for these it does. (see picture) The back looks completely different than the front and it looks ridiculous when you wear them.I went to see about exchanging them for the exact same pair, getting a left and a right, or getting a refund. I waited for 45 minutes while the associate was trying to get the attention of her store manager, and the manager was handling calls and doing other other things and told her she didn’t have time to help her. Finally the associate was able to speak to her manager and came back to me to advise that they did not have another pair, and they would not give me a refund. They did give me the option to exchange and pay the difference on an exchange, but they didn’t have any earrings that were similar enough that I liked.I understand a store policy of no refunds. But when the issue is a result of something the store did and sold, and the product is defective, I would expect that they would stand by their product. It was really frustrating to spend 45 minutes waiting to be helped just to be told that they wouldn’t help me. Now I’m stuck with a $60 pair of earrings that I will never wear. Lesson learned for me not to shop here again because their policy and service is ridiculous.
I had a negative experience with a specific piercer the first two times I visited. To the point I wasnt going to return. I decided to make an appointment with a different piercer to try again and it was the best experience. Sarah was wonderful, was gentle and made me feel welcome in the shop. Edited to add: I hear the other piercer isnt working in this shop anymore so I have no hesitation coming back for all of my piercing needs.
Always super nice and professional. Katrina took a bunch of time to get my nostril piercings lined up and got a second opinion on placement. And she got it perfect!!! When I had some problems with my ears I called and they were so nice to me over the phone and were happy to take a look when I went in the next day.
Took my teen here for ear piercing 2 months ago. Excellent experience, clean facility, knowledgeable and very friendly staff, great selection of jewelry. We will definitely recommend to friends and family and we will be back!
We visited Deeproots for our youngest daughters 7th birthday to have her ears pierced. She was a bit nervous, so we stopped by the week prior to familiarize ourselves with the process. Sarah and the Deeproots team truly excelled! They put our daughter at ease and made her feel confident, prompting us to schedule an appointment for the following week for the piercing. The exceptional service persisted on the day of the piercing. They assisted her in selecting her jewelry, explained the procedure and aftercare in clear and simple terms. Following the piercing, they presented her with a certificate and a happy birthday necklace, adding a special touch to the experience. It was truly a memorable and outstanding experience that we will cherish.
Good and sanitary piercing experience! piercer seemed a little shaky but i was too and no holes were poked until everything was perfect so i wasnt worried. only complaint is the pricing- i asked about cheaper jewelry options and was told it was going to be 30 dollars for my jewelry and then when i was checking out ended up paying 55 because the septum balls were a seperate charge. just smth to be aware of! maybe a price sheet/ jewlery menu would be a good addition to consultation experience
Frankie is an awesome piercer. He did an amazing job on my nose piercing and the placement is perfect. Myself and my kids have all gotten piercings here and I can’t imagine going anywhere else. Their customer service is 💯 all the time and they have a beautiful selection of jewelry. Thanks Frankie and Deep Roots! 🫶
Beautiful professional studio and staff. Everyone was helpful and a delight to chat with.If youre wanting a piercing go see Frankie, hes the absolute best!! Extremely knowledgeable, gentle, and all around awesome guy. Only getting my piercings from him from now on.
Absolutely wonderful and knowledgeable piercer. Jason helped me pick out the best jewelry (stainless steel) for my orbital and looked at my poorly pierced daith from elsewhere and helped me make a plan. Excellent service and very reasonable price for the jewelry.
I came in to get my navel piercing and scheduled with Frankie, this was my first time coming to this facility so I wasn’t sure what to expect. He was very nice and friendly and talked through what he was doing, everything was sterile and it was a super clean shop and had good presentation of all the jewelry, not to mention a super helpful and kind front desk staff. If you are looking to get a piercing I highly recommend going and seeing Frankie.
Got my nipples pierced 6 months ago. I finally just took them out. Left one was crooked and wasn’t healing properly. Pretty disappointed considering how much I paid for my piercing and jewelry. I have been getting professionally tattooed and pierced for 23 years so I’m not new to after care or healing expectations.
Frankie Pistone is an excellent piercer with thorough knowledge of anatomy and ear design. Would recommend him for any piercings or curations! He’s especially good at listening to your vision while remaining realistic about what’s going to work with your anatomy/previous piercings.
I cant say enough good things about Deep Roots! Making a same day appointment was easy, check-in was quick and paperless (Cant wait until this catches on everywhere!) and everyone was so friendly. The whole studio is spotless, they stick to COVID protocols impeccably, it was spacious, well organized, prices were easy to understand, and the piercer + apprentice were both professional, kind, funny and quick! The ear models in the cases are a great visual as well, and got me excited with new ideas for the next piercings!Ive never had such a good experience getting a piercing, and I have 11, so I feel qualified to say that Deep Roots really is the best of the best. I already cant wait to come back! 🥰
I lost a piece of jewlery while I was in town on a trip. I ended up stopping by to grab a replacement, and the Counter Staff was so helpful and kind! The shop is gorgeous with lots of beautiful jewlery to choose from!
Went to deep roots in October 2023 for my 8-year olds first ear lobe piercing and saw Sarah, who was absolutely phenomenal. She walked us through every step of what was going to happen, was extremely kind, calm, answered all our questions, and was extremely sanitary (changed her gloves after touching the cupboards, and also sanitized), and reassured my daughter through every step of the process. If deep roots were all Sarahs, I would recommend this company 100x. Unfortunately, after our first experience, every experience after was quite negative. The second time we came in for our downsize, we saw Frankie in January 2024. He was not friendly or welcoming at all, and accused us of using q-tips for cleaning and shamed me in front of my daughter. We NEVER used q-tips, as this was a big no-no, and so it was upsetting that he accused me of doing this in front of my daughter, when I very much made a point of not doing this. He was not friendly towards us, and it was a pretty negative experience. I will say he did seem to want the best for my daughters piercing, which I appreciate, but his approach was not great.Flash forward to April 13, 2024, I called in advance to make sure we could see someone who is good with kids after our experience with Frankie.... we were paired with Kat (Kathryn) who we were told was great with kids..... hmmm. Okay. So we came in and Kat breezed by us to another family asking if they were us, I had to say loudly--no, this is us! She circled back to us and without introducing herself to my daughter or anything just started touching her and said can I look at your ears? -- hello... please introduce yourself to us and let my kid know who the heck you are. This was kind of upsetting. We picked our jewelry beforehand to get my daughters earrings changed for the very first time which she has been anxiously waiting for for 6+ months to do.... It would have been nice if the front desk staff or really ANYONE told us the jewelry we chose could only be changed out by someone at deep roots!!! We chose a hoop earring and only found out AFTER Kat put both earrings in my daughters ears when I asked when we could change them out she said well you wont want to change these for a while because theyre white gold hoops and will bend/break if you do it yourself, these are meant to stay in place for a long time. What the heck!!? This is something you should absolutely tell the customer BEFORE purchasing and putting in the earrings, especially a child who has been anxiously waiting 6 months to change out their very first piercing. Every question I asked to Kat I felt like she was annoyed to answer so I just stopped asking. She did not walk my daughter through what she was doing like Sarah, just stayed silent unless I asked a question, which again she sounded annoyed when I did that. Also, Kat only put one pair of gloves on, unlike Sarah. When we entered the room, she put gloves on, then proceeded to open unsanitized cabinets, touch other things throughout the room, then touch my daughters ear, grabbed the (now unsanitized) earrings to do the piercing change (WITHOUT SANITIZING), without changing gloves or re-sanitizing (Sarah changed gloves AND sanitized before doing anything else). Totally unsanitary and gross. The only person I would recommend seeing here for childrens piercings is Sarah. If we ever come back she is the only person I would see. I am also just so shocked and so disappointed that the front desk staff or Kat werent more upfront about the ($160!!!) earrings we were purchasing in giving a disclaimer before they were IN my daughters ears. Overall extremely disappointed in our experience with deep roots. 5/5 for Sarah, 1/5 for everything else.
I needed to downsize my eyebrow piercing and switch out my septum. I made my appointment with ease, like all good millennials I hate talking on the phone so the website rocks! I got there early, was helped immediately, and everyone was super friendly. They made it so easy. Frankie, my piercer, was a dream. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. On top of it just being a great customer service experience all around, I really appreciated the bright spot. I had gotten some terrible personal news right before heading in and everyone’s genuine cheer and kindness made everything suck way less. Will always recommend this team! They’re great.
Had a fantastic experience getting a couple of memorial pieces done by Preston. He is friendly and a terrific artist. I am very happy with the work he did and would definitely go back to him. Highly recommend him and Deep Roots!
Frankie was my piercer and I loved my experience. Safe, clean, comfortable. He talked me through the piercing process as well as after care. Ill be back!
I went into Deep Roots not knowing what to expect and left completely blown away by their professionalism and wonderful customer service. I had my conch piercing in for the last 15 years and had trouble trying to remove it by myself at home. I walked in and was immediately assisted by Ivy. She got me checked in and was very knowledgeable as she helped me find a new earring. The selection was vast with so many beautiful options, it was hard to pick one! Once Frankie was ready for me, he was able to remove my stubborn piercing with ease and replace it with the new one I selected. Overall, it was a great experience and I will surely be back for more earrings (and maybe more piercings).
I went in to get a septum done and they used the wrong gage and instead of switching to the right gage, they began to just SHOVE the jewelry through the closed hole which hurt so much.I ended up being in a lot of pain and told them to stop because it hurt and it was closed and when I asked, they were rude. They did give me 20% off, but did say things that guilt tripped me.Ive gotten piercings before at other locations and used to train to be a piercer myself and this was done wrong and unprofessionally. It may have been my specific piercer, they had orange and black hair I believe. This happened a while ago.
Kathryn did an amazing job removing my tongue stitches, will def be going back wherever I get some more piercings!
Frankie is my absolute favorite piercer to go to-i avoid my family piercer even. he has pierced both of my nostrils and even after a slip up, he appreciated and thanked me a bunch for coming back and letting him fix his mistake. i’ve downsized and fully healed both piercings and i’m so happy with them. coming from leavenworth 🖤🖤
Very friendly and nice piercer and receptionists, told me all about the piercings I was thinking about getting so I felt well informed in my decision. Me and 4 of my friends all got pierced together, and he let us stay together for the whole process! I got an eyebrow piercing and it cost me about $75 with the jewelry, but it was well worth it for the wonderful experience I had. The piercer marked where he was going to pierce my eyebrow before he did it so I could see and decide if I liked it. If there was a less expensive place closer to my house I would still go to deep roots. I left with a lot of confidence and specific care instructions as well. Plan to return for another piercing in November.
Came here on a walk in and it was a little quiet. I was debating on what piercing I should get and I ended up choosing a Philtrum. Kendra at the counter was so helpful in pulling pieces for me to look at. Also shared their experience with their piercing which really helped my decision. Kendra took time to listen to my needs and gave me a few options. Frankie, who was going to be doing my service, came up front and also helped choose a piece that would work with my anatomy. After selecting, Frankie set up and explained the process to me. I was actually really comfortable as he explained everything clearly and it made me trust the full process. The piercing was so quick. He was fast and accurate and the whole thing was so easy. Thank you Frankie and also to Kendra, Ivy, and Sarah at the counter. Everyone made my day and I got compliments on it immediately walking out the door.
Very expensive but they treated my little sister well for her first ear piercings (at 10yo) and made her as comfortable as possible.
Have visited Deep Roots for a couple piercings in the past, but the piercing profesional that I saw today made sure I was comfortable, and made me feel super confident in the both the appointment and that I had the right tools for correct aftercare. Frankie was exceptional, and the front desk clerk (I didnt get their name) was very helpful in assisting me with what I wanted for my new look. Overall very enjoyable experience.
The staff is super sweet and fun! They make sure youre comfortable, and they do such an amazing job. Ive gotten almost all of my piercings done here because theyre trustworthy, kind, professional and super fun to chat with! Ill be coming here for all my future piercings! Theyre the only ones I trust 🤩❤️
Before I say this I would like to say that the counter staff is absolutely amazing. Dave on the other hand was rude, disrespectful and down right misogynistic. I witnessed him berating the staff, making clients uncomfortable and I’ve had friends go and see him who ended up with piercings no where near the dot that HE made. The owners don’t care because he makes them a lot of money even though he’ll do any piercing and doesn’t care about people’s bodies. He’s a quantity over quality piercer and my friends and will never be back.
The storefront is aesthetically appealing and their selection of jewelry is solid. They accommodated a walk-in nostril piercing right away. Paperwork was easy/electronic. Piercer didnt have much in the way of recommendation for placement but was quite knowledgeable and approachable.
I got pierced by Sarah Williams and it was the best piercing Ive had. I have 10 piercings that Ive gotten over the years, this was hands down the best treatment Ive ever received. Everything felt clean and professional, all of the staff were lovely and Sarah made me feel so comfortable. The process did not feel rushed, she made sure that I felt good and was happy with the placement before piercing. Ive had my nipples pierced before and had to take them out because they were not healing, which was due to the large gage of bars my previous artist used. So Sarah had to work around/ignore the previous scarring and holes. Not only did the piercing go super smooth, the healing process was so fast this time because they know what they are doing!
I just got my third piercing from Kathryn at Deep Roots tonight. It was an industrial piercing but due to the shape of my ear, it had to be customized a little more than normal. Sam at the front counter went above and beyond to help me as we tried to figure out exactly what I needed. He answered my million questions and was super nice and friendly. For my piercing, Kathryn walked me through every step as she did it. She has a great bedside manner. You can expect to pay a little more for jewelry here but you’re getting excellent quality for your money. I don’t see myself ever getting pierced anywhere else.
Zak pierced my daughters ears today and the whole experience was wonderful! He is great with kids and the person who helped us pick out jewelry and cash out was so sweet as well. The parlor is extremely clean and Zak changed his gloves multiple times during our visit as well. He also took the time to talk with my daughter and make sure she was comfortable with everything and as prepared as she could be. We left with the happiest girl and I feel so lucky to have found deep roots. The experience was absolutely perfect and I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have young kids and are avoiding piercing guns.
I truly cannot say enough positive things about everyone who works here. I just had my high nostrils pierced and was far from an ideal client (I have a tremor that can get pretty bad when Im nervous), but Frankie was super kind and understanding. My end results ended up being fantastic despite my shaking, which is a testament to his skill. The people working behind the desk were also super nice and welcoming. The place is very clean and has a calm, laid-back atmosphere.
The staff at the front are super friendly, helpful and completely understanding of when clients may be apprehensive. The folks that helped me pick out my jewelry were increedible.Had my nostril pierced by Frankie. The entire experience was quick, efficient and very very comfortable.I highly recommend this studio for piercings!!
Went in for a nose piercing and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Professional, kind and talented piercer, Frankie who went through every detail and did a fantastic job. Very minimal pain and have been healing without any issues. Their jewelry selection was swoon worthy.
Great tattoos and piercings. The staff is extremely kind and happy to cover all options and decisions, they focus on your needs as it is your body. Took our five year old daughter for her ears, my wife for 2 sets of ear piercings also and the staff was so good to them both. The tattoo artists are also top notch, happy to help out redirect you to others if they cant give you what you want. If youre looking for a tattoo or piercing check them out, well with the price and wait (if you even have one).
There’s better places. I’ve found that it doesn’t really matter to make an appointment because either way there will be a wait - no communication made about their currently waitlist. Additionally, the stones in my jewelry have fallen out twice. They will replace the gem, but they will still charge you a fee to do it. They won’t allow you to take the replacement piece home and replace it yourself because they want to keep the broken piece. Overall, I’m mostly disappointed by the quality of their jewelry and their replacement policy. I will say, the piercers and the front desk people have always been kind, but I think I will be re-purchasing jewelry elsewhere from now on.
Amazing front end staff, tattoo artists, and piercers alike. Great quality jewelry and awesome sales if you sign up for the mailing list emails, too! Appointments online and website details all you need to know. My go-to for anything body modification! Even took my mom here to get her ears pierced!
Came in for a tattoo with Preston yesterday for my first tattoo experience with Deep Roots (had my piercings done at the Seattle one and they were also amazing) and he was literally the best!!! Everything about my experience was great, from checking in to leaving I couldn’t be happier. His vibe was cool and my tattoo looks exactly how I wanted. And the shop didn’t feel stuffy like some other tattoo/piercing places sometimes feel. Will definitely be coming back to see him for more!
Preston Hawke is a tattooing badass! He does great work, is insanely clean, and is a great conversationalist. Seriously recommend him to anyone who wants quality work done by a cool guy!The rest of the team at Deep Roots is awesome too! They have a beautiful showroom for piercing jewelry, so if that’s your cup of tea, check it out!
Ive gotten several piercing here now, and the piercers are always wonderful to work with. They always answer all the questions I have and give great instructions on taking care of them. I look forward to going to buy new jewelry from them for my piercings!
I wish they offered a numbing gel option for kids. My child is traumatized from 1 piercing that she never wants to get her other ear pierced. I spent $165 for her to get 1 ear pierced. The staff was really nice, facility was really clean and nice. But unfortunately we wont be back.
Awesome experience. Very professional staff, sanitary conditions and exquisite jewelry available. Septum piercing less than 125$ with consistent and detailed instructions on after care, as well as products available for proper hygeine. Was referred here by a close family member, and will def visit again.
I was having a hard time deciding what I liked and would work with my anatomy and the lovely human at the counter was so helpful. I love what we picked out!
Everyone from front counter to service providers are very friendly and caring. They want clients to find exactly what is wanted and never rush clients to make decisions. Staff make very effort to make clients comfortable. Im highly satisfied every time I visit their multiple locations.
Always have a great experience when Im there. Highly recommend seeing Frankie if youre going in for a piercing- makes you feel comfortable, will explain as he goes, and answers questions you may have.
I have been coming here for over 10 years with good success. I came in a few months ago to get double lobes on both ears. An apprentice did them, which I wasn’t aware of-thought she was trained as she was the only one in the room with me. I am looking at my ears before and after swelling has gone down and they are not even at all. Two of the piercings are angled down and it makes the earrings lie too close together. And a few days after my piercing they have come out with a sale for apprentice piercings…okay cool. Why wasn’t there a discount for me? I left paying $300+. I then go back in and speak with the owner, she looks at my ears and tells me that they are just swollen still. Reception then tells me I can remove them and have them redone in 6 months, but they can’t guarantee that there won’t be a piercing fee. I just don’t understand how that’s fair? Why should I have to pay another fee when the piercer was the one who did them wrong? I know businesses exist to make money, but this shop is so money hungry. I will literally drive hours out of my way to avoid coming here now.
Really friendly staff, had a great time! They answered mine and my friens questions and created a great atmosphere. Everything was sterile, and my healing process turned out great. No pain (even after I forgot to clean them for a bit, and continually slept on my side through the healing)!Only issues:A. I felt overcharged for the piercing. I got a lobe piercing and was charged 150$ w/ tip (which was 20$). I tried to get the cheapest jewelry since I disliked a lot of their selection. Even still, the earrings I got (stars) were very small. EACH earring was ~60$, as the backing was 15$ and the earring being 45$. And the only difference: nickel-free. I wish I had brought my own jewelry.B. It was not explained how to remove the piercing once it had healed, nor was it intuitive. I tried for DAYS, and my ears were bleeding profusely by the time I wisened up and got out my 4 month old recipts to find out what type of backing they were and google how to remove them. This was not included in the healing infromation given! (BTW: IF YOU GOT A FLATBACK EARRING BACKING, IT COMES OUT EASILY IF YOU PULL ON *BOTH* THE EARRING AND THE BACKING IN *OPPOSITE* DIRECTIONS!)C. I had already gotten my ears pierced before, so this was my second lobe. I explicitly told the piercer that I wanted to be able to wear dangled earrings on both piercings (the sole reason I got them), but was disappointed when it turned out that the two piercings were too close together. I couldnt even wear some of my favorite earrings for a while, since they would press on the new earring and dig into my skin. Objectively, this has more to do with miscommunication + my first piercing (which was done at Clares when I was a teen) than anything else, but he could have advised me otherwise.
Took my daughters to get their ears pierced here.My goodness it seems risky to bring two young children into a tattoo and piercing and I was nervous. This place is the absolute best. The front desk staff was so sweet and helpful and great with the kids. Explained everything really way and helped with the paperwork.Dave was the piercer and he was phenomenal with the girls. He explained everything he was doing and was very good with cleanliness and safety and precautions making sure the girls had a good experience.I absolutely recommend this place for children’s ear piercing. It was a little pricey ended up costing just over 150 per child for the appointment, earrings and cleaner. But it was worth it knowing that needles vs gun were used and the earrings were high quality. If you are looking for a piercing studio for your kids this is the place!
A shoutout to Frankie--I was nervous about getting my earlobes re-pierced as they are small and previously surgically repaired. He was very patient in carefully examining my ears in order to find the best place near the healed tissue for new piercings. The jewelry selection is also amazing with great options for small ears like mine and in many price ranges. Thank you!
I went here last week on my birthday for a spontaneous eyebrow piercing because they happened to have an appointment available and I was not disappointed! From the helpful staff that checked me in and showed me all the jewelry (I’m indecisive usually) to the guest piercer they had in who took the extra time to make sure everything was perfect; thank you so very much for an absolutely amazing experience!
Super kind and knowledgeable people. I really appreciated the communication through the whole process and care from everyone. It made the whole experience. Frankie is excellent and if I get more piercings Ill definitely be coming back here.
Frankie pierced my paired brows and once it was done I did not feel a thing. No swelling. So good. Also they have the best front of house. They are so sweet and knowledgeable!!
Love my vist to Deep roots, the front desk staff were very kind and informative, Preston was super kind and understanding that it was my first tattoo and he was not only very precise but also was nice to talk to. Would recommend to friends!!
Got snake bites and septum done and ended up having to take the septum out because it was done in the wrong spot and was crooked. My snake bites were also done unevenly and not in the right spot but were able to heal properly so I guess 2 stars? When I originally reached out about the issue (before taking out the septum) all I got was silence. I don’t know if the guy who did my piercings was just having a bad day or what but he didn’t seem like he wanted to be doing it and having him rush and then mess up the piercings I spent $250 on counting jewelry left a bad taste in my mouth.
The nose of my face is happily brought to you by Deep Roots in Lynwood! No better place to get pierced with drool worthy in both selection and quality jewelry. I got pierced by Frankie this last time and he’s got me itching for more already. From the front desk staff, to the experience, and the aesthetic this is by far my favorite place for piercings that isn’t downtown Seattle. I live in Darrington and hands down is worth the travel and will be coming back shortly after my 29th birthday trip. I can not recommend them enough. The space in itself feels very safe for all walks of life and it’s one of the main points I bring up when talking about it. Thank you for making me a forever customer!
I went in for a normal nose stud piercing. I was helped immediately and very kindly! Everything was explained easily. Georg did my piercing and explained what they were doing and talked me through the whole process. They made sure I understood the aftercare and was a very sweet person. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff and great atmosphere! Went in to buy new jewelry for my septum and was in and out like a flash! Everything is hygienic and they really make sure to take all precautions! Would go there again!
Great experience! I got my nose pierced, they were super helpful with picking out jewelry, the jewelry is STUNNING, and the piercing was quick and great! Highly recommended! I will be back for more :)
I got my septum pierced, and the process was painless, easy, and professional. This shop isnt intimidating like some others, and I felt at ease. The people behind the counter are also very helpful with picking out jewelry and making sure you stay within your budget.
I want to post this review to help others to avoid what I went through. I am not trying to shame this business or the piercers.I went to deep roots because my jewelry fell out, and this was in an intimate place. The piercer was to “recover” the piercing because in the time it had been out (~ 8 hours or so) it had closed up substantially. Before I was getting pierced, I asked the piercer if he was using the right size for my piercing, honestly it looked bigger than what I had before and I wanted to check. He didn’t check if it was the right size, said it was the standard size and brushed off my comment. He then proceeded to pierce me with a bigger gauge that I had before, essentially gauging me in a private area. It was excruciatingly painful and violating, to have trusted this piercer and this establishment, especially with an intimate place on my body, and to feel not listened to and disrespected like that. I am still having issues with vulnerability in that area. The manager of the studio ended up refunding me, the piercer took the jewelry out and gave me the right size, and I appreciated that. But I still want to share this story because it was an awful experience overall, in a private and intimate area, and rather than feel empowered and cared for, I felt violated and disrespected. And to boot, I was not given a quote before I got pierced and it was over $300 for the jewelry (again they refunded this in its entirety) but still, an awful experience. So, make sure you 1) know the size of jewelry you want and 2) get a quote.Honestly I won’t be coming back here again
Derek was amazing!! I went to him for an opinion on my septum that I had for about a week which was causing me major pain and had it redone by him and it was super quick and little pain. Especially the healing process being insanely easy. Derek did wonderful, and after getting my septum done by him, I want more piercings
I came in for a consult with Sarah the piercer. She was very friendly and helpful. I had a crooked septum piercing done by Silver Safari the day before and consulted with her on repiercing it. She was honest and answered all my questions and said she doesn’t do septums but referred me to two other piercers at two different shops. I appreciate her honesty. I also love all her ‘metal.’I noticed this shop has lots of gorgeous jewelry but specializes in gold. They don’t have anodized titanium and I like anodized titanium for jewelry. My birds would destroy gold if they ever got a hold of it (which they do on occasion:)).
Our experience here has been wonderful! No matter how much (or little) you spend, or how many piercings you receive, Deep Roots customer service is amazing. Our friends recommended them to us and the staff doesn’t disappoint. Big shout out to Kalin who is helping me and my daughter with her ear piercing after care. I’d highly recommend them for your body piercing and jewelry needs.
High quality jewelry, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Had to knock off one point because I scheduled an appointment for my jewelry insert, arrived early to pick jewelry and complete paperwork, but wasnt seen until after the window I had signed up for. If you arent on a schedule, definitely worth the stop!
Update: I just stopped in to see if maybe I could get them to down size my post. He was rude. You can stop messing with it. The next size down wont fit. He didnt say goodbye. That wouldve been the least he couldve done. Theres gotta be a solution. It was just late and he wanted to go home.Dont get me wrong, this was an all around great experience! The staff was wonderful. The front desk was friendly and my piercer was very skilled, experienced, professional, and knowledgeable!!!! 🙂Where I had the problem? Was the incredibly high price. Their piercing fees are about average, so even that is pretty average and affordable. Where they make their money? Is they dont have any surgical stainless steel options and only sell upper shelf options such as gold and titanium. If they DO offer a cheaper option, they dont tell you. Also, I was under the impression that the piece of jewelry I chose had three sections...a chain, a gem, and a gold sword. It turned out I paid $185 for a tiny gold sword that is about a 1/4 long and less than a millimeter thick. So, to give you and idea, I spent almost $400 for two piercings. It can be done for way less. Period. Silver Safari isnt far away. Try them instead.
Excellent service from all the employees I encountered. They were patient and attentive even though there were multiple people there asking questions. The person at the counter was crystal clear about costs and also super friendly. I bought all four of the earrings I needed there. Their jewelry selection is wonderful. They carry BVLA as well as other brands and I definitely will be returning for jewelry, if nothing else. The piercing was quick, efficient, and professional. Im used to piercings but even if I had been new to it I would have felt at ease there. I had two lobe piercings on each ear redone, moved to a better spot. The guy who did them was very careful about their placement and answered all my questions. So far they are healing beautifully and turned out exactly the way I wanted. The prices are steep, what Id expect for high-end jewelry (and a good piercing job). I think the price is worth it. After all, a piercing lasts forever so you might as well pay more to have it done very well, which is what I got here.
Always had a great experience at this shop. The employees are always kind and want to help find a piece that will work with my body and match nicely with my other jewelry. Big shout outs to Sarah working that counter.Ive been piecered by Ben and Dave. Always a smooth experience with either of these guys. Listen to the aftercare instructions and all will heal fine. Never had a single issue with my piercings.
Fun, efficient, and extremely helpful crew for my nose piercing! Picking out jewelry and getting pierced was a breeze with this team. The piercing just felt like a pinch with very very little soreness afterwards. I wasnt planning on getting more piercings but plans might change! The selection of jewelry is so beautiful too. Just about all of them rang with my style! Cant wait to go pick out more once my piercing heals! Thanks Dave and Friday night team!
Excellent piercing service. Have had 20 piercings performed with Deep Roots, each has been quick and comfortable. Each of the staff are polite, friendly and very informative. I have had a sternum surface anchor done at deep roots and another of the same type performed at a different studio chain, the difference in experience, comfort and recovery time was stark. The jewelry is slightly expensive compared to other locations, but the selection is more diverse and piercing experience itself has always been more than able to make up for the difference in cost.
Took my daughters to get their ears pierced. Was only told the cost of part of their earrings. Had to buy earrings in 3 parts, the front, back and post x 2. Cost 300+ dollars to get two little girls ears pierced. There should be a range of simple earrings- one price for a pair of earrings. No hidden costs.
Ben did my daughters nose piercing and he was amazing!. He took the time to explain everything from how the procedure was going to go and all the way through the after care. He was very patient when her nerves took over and made sure she was comfortable with what was happening. She couldnt be happier and I really appreciate the the caring he put into the experience. Everyone at the shop was great and the facility is clean and professional. Thank you to everyone there for making this awesome experience!
What an amazing place! I brought my daughters here to get their ears pierced (1st time for all involved). Honestly, I was a little sad when it was over because the people were so lovely! From the moment we walked in, they respected my daughters bodies and autonomy. A short consent and health info form signed by both parent and child was provided, and then the fun began! They guided us through selecting reasonable first earrings that wouldnt trigger allergies, asked the girls questions to ensure they were pleased with the process and results, and took all the time we needed. Ben, the body piercer who helped us, was amazing. The way he interacted with my children was completely respectful, and they were so thrilled with the outcome. Its been a week, and the healing is going really well.
I got an ear lobe piercing here. While the piercing was well placed and it so far is healing properly, it kind of bothered me that the receptionists kept calling me “they” even though my friend was calling me “she” to them. I filled out their paper work which asked for pronouns, but I’m not even sure they read it. The paperwork was also very long and asked me a bunch of Covid related questions. I’m not too offended by that, but what was bothering me more was the price. They didn’t tell me the price until after my piercing was done, which was $300 for one ear lobe piercing. Granted, most of the cost was for the one earring I picked out, but their was no price tag and they never mentioned the cost of it. Then they charged me $12 for the after care cleaner.I recently went to Silver Safari within the mall for 2 cartilage piercings. Not only did they not make me fill out a bunch of paperwork about my pronouns or recent illnesses, (simply asking me verbally once) they gave the solution for free, told me the cost beforehand ($120 for 2 piercings) and the piercings barely hurt at all.
I have been here to get piercings for years - 5 done at this shop. They impress me every time. Most recently I had a helix and two lobe piercings done by Ben who was extremely friendly and clearly knowledgeable. Calley helped me at the counter and was really wonderful. I have never had a bad experience here and plan on coming back again! Every piercing has healed well and was quick and painless (relatively). Highly recommend you stop in.
If you are looking for a clean, safe place to get ink or a piercing, this is it. They strive to make your experience a healthy one. The staff is fantastic, talented, and friendly. And all their jewelry is 100% bio-compatible, so you dont have to work that youll have a reaction to the metal. I feel completely at ease every time Im in there, because they very obviously know what theyre doing, and they actually care. The price may seem a little high, but Im willing to pay extra to know that theyre taking the time to be sanitary, and the quality is exceptional, so I think its worth it.
I’ve been going to Deep Roots Alderwood since I was 18 (now 26) and have gotten both tattoos and piercings. The staff are generally friendly, informative and personable and I enjoy going there. It’s very clean, sanitary and they have a nice selection of gold body jewelry. On my most recent visit tho, I was less than impressed. Came in with my sister looking to buy new jewelry (it’s been about 6-8 months since I’ve been in) and we are not greeted or even acknowledged by the counter staff. Granted, both people were helping other clients but when they were finished, started chit-chatting with each other instead. No “hello”, “did you want to look at anything”, check-in, etc. The two counter staff however DID acknowledge and greet other clients that entered the store while still not giving us any mind. This was very off-putting and off-brand to what I usually experience at this location. I hope this was just a one off thing but in the meantime, I will buy my jewelry elsewhere.
Great experience! Went in for a piercing after a bad experience at another shop. The counter staff was friendly and the piercer was super kind, patient, and professional. The piercing itself was quick and painless, and the piercer gladly switched out jewelery from one of my other piercings too. I really like the selection of high quality jewelry they have there- a lot of really unique pieces.
I Wanted my ear jewelry changed so I went in and found what I wanted. They didnt have time that day so I had the piercer look at my ear to make sure it would fit and made an appointment.Weeks later I show up for my appointment taking the day off for my birthday and driving 25 min south. I wait for a half hour to be told they cant do the change and I will have to drive 30 min north to their other location if I want it today and I quote they will be ready for you when you arrive. Next Im told since they cant change the jewelry they arent sure which size I need since the front desk woman didnt put it in the notes previously. Since they dont know what jewelry I need there is a chance the north store might not have the jewelry I need.I say what the heck and drive 30 min back north already having invested over an hour at this point. I arrived at the north store re fill out all the paperwork on their tablet again and after another 30 min of waiting politely ask for an ETA as the campus store said they would be ready. At this point Im informed there is no appointment for me, they are not ready and the store is treating me as a walk in. Im informed they may or may not have time at all today but maybe in the next 2-3 hours. !?!? How did you fail to mention this when I came in? Obviously I leave and will tell everyone to avoid the clown show that is deep roots. This is a case study about how a business dropped the ball across every aspect of customer care in one situation. They dont have to offer quality service because demand is high. If its this hard to try and give them $100 imagine how hard it is to deal with them if things go really wrong?
Overpriced and unprofessional. Visited shop November 2021.$270 for a simple lobe pair. The guy was extremely late to our appointment, we waited nearly 30 minutes past our time slot for him to show up---and we were early. That wasnt 30 mins for him to set up etc, that was just to wait for him to actually enter the building.I shouldve walked out but it was my daughters birthday present and I didnt want to take her to Claires. The only good thing I can say about it is its clean. Overall I wont be returning.
Called to setup an appointment for tattoo consultation. The person who answered said they happened to be one of their artists and asked if I had an idea of what I wanted. I said yes and very briefly described what I want only to be told, oh, well we can discuss other options when you come in. I said that I had already made up my mind on the design I wanted and just wanted to go over the colors and how to place it. Then was told that I should consider a different shop because they couldnt help me. I was super confused so I asked if it was because they didnt offer or specialize in the specific style that I wanted or if they only did black and white tattoos and was told, no, i can do it but I dont think its a great tattoo design so I dont want my name on it. Its not like they were saying they had concerns about the shape or where i wanted to place it or the overall tattoo or something, they just decided from minimal details that my design was to lame...? Seriously? Totally unprofessional. Would never recommend dealing with this place for anything. Rude to a T for Terrible customer service.
I received a septum and cheek piercings. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable and the piercer was skilled, has a great personality and calm demeanor. Which made for a badass experience. I feel like you know youre in the right place when the shop has a line out the door. Hands down would recommend Dave and this shop!
Zero stars. I have been here a number of times. Lets see, 6 times to be exact! I had them pierce both right and left nostrils (two separate visits). I then came back and had them change the first piercing post to a shorter one once it was healed (very easy, simple process and didn’t need to make an appt, I just walked in) About a year later I came in to have this same nostril fitted and changed into a hoop. I want it to fit my nose right and didn’t want to just purchase the jewelry I wanted it installed. Front counter asked for my vaccination card, I don’t carry this on me anymore so I said I didnt have it but I advised it should already be on file from 2 months ago when I got my second nostril pierced. He said they must see the vaccination card each time but a picture would also suffice. Um? You have a picture of it already on file? Makes a lot of sense right. I was sent away. Came back a second time and was sent away again because the piercer had left early! What!? They told me to come back tomorrow and they could get me in. I showed up for a THIRD time and was sent away again because they had no openings or appointments and I had to make an appointment online for the next day. I will NEVER go here again. Your safety protocols are ridiculous and the fact you make us wear a mask when we walk in but all good to take off to change piercing. All makes zero sense. Hm, wonder if I walked in to get pierced if I would have been treated the same. Really makes you wonder.
All my piercings are from Deep Roots and Alderwood and I have never left anything but ecstatic. The quality of the jewelry is top notch, skilled piercers, and a great environment for body mods. Inviting, accepting, and chill. Love Deep Roots and plan on going back many more times again!
Front desk staff were very nice and inviting. The piercer I got named Dave was very rude. He rushed the piercing and did not want to answer any questions I had. I told him I was nervous and he made me very uncomfortable. No one should be treated that way. Not sure if he was having a bad day or just doesnt like women.. Pricing is very high and was not worth the experience I had. I wish I went elsewhere.
This shop is very clean, professional, and helpful. Georg, our piercer was FANTASTIC! He was great at explaining exactly what he was doing throughout the entire process! This shop and Georg provide next level customer service. This is coming from someone who works and expects nothing but the best customer service 10/10 recommended
The only place I will ever go for piercings. I have absolutely no complaints. I have gotten multiple piercings done here and each one has been completely painless and have had no issues when healing. The staff are all so welcoming and friendly and they do an excellent job of explaining the process, acknowledging concerns and answering questions. Would recommend to anyone!
I got my lip pierced here and they did an awesome job! Made darn sure the spots were even, looked perfect, and that I was happy. Also extremely clean, sanitized work area, beautiful jewelry to choose from! Over all VERY impressed and would definitely recommend! Ive gotten tattoos here before and have always been more than happy with what I got! Thank you guys!
The best Tattoo and piercing company in Western Washington!I have been to this location a couple of times now for piercings, and all of the staff that I have had the pleasure to interact with are very friendly, professional, and well educated. Not only is this location spacious, but its also very clean and sterile. Of the tattoo shops Ive been in, this is by far the most welcoming.Cal up front is one of my absolute favorites! She knows everything there is to know about the jewelry they offer. She is one of the kindest most honest retail workers I have met! Not only can she help find something within my budget, but also something that will look good on me and my complexion.I highly recommend any of Deep Roots locations, but if youre anywhere north of Downtown Seattle, its worth the drive to the Lynnwood/Alderwood Mall location!
Very clean place. Most of the staff is super nice and chill. I got my septum done and the piercer explained everything and was actually interested in my well being.I did feel that one employee was somewhat mean but at the end they were super nice.4 stars because Im new to piercing and the one employee was treating me like I should already know things.
Currently, I have two first piercings(lower lobe) and two seconds(I believe is upper lobe? one on each ear.) These were all done at Deep Roots. I’ve had a really good experience here. The jewelry isn’t exactly cheap, but I also only can get titanium seeming I have a bad allergy to nickel. The normal size for my first piercings was about $40-$50, which I was already prepared for. If you want a lower or higher size I believe it is about &5-$10 extra. Not super happy about this, but it’s not a deal breaker. I would also like to compliment the fact they have answered all the questions I have asked and reassured me on other things, as well as share personal experiences on what to be careful about. Not only this but they are very efficient in their work and seem to try their best whenever they have the opportunity. One of my recent experiences is what brought me to write this review. One of my piercings, about 5 month olds, was quite bloody on the back. I was concerned it was either infected or something else had happened. I went in and they said they could look at it for me. The guy who helped me out explained what might have happened and what to be wary about, as well as answered all my questions and checked if I had anymore. Overall, I was really happy. (I don’t know if this is normal or a law, but checkups don’t cost any money either, so that was another win.) One of my other experiences is when I went in because once again, I thought I might have an infection. (I had tried jewelry with nickel and it severely irritated my ear to the point both of them closed up.) They told me to give it a few days and use something else. (Don’t remember but it was a green gel.) It hadn’t healed, but I also have very slow healing ears, my lobes took about a year or a little less to completely heal. I am very excited to get more piercings, I’m not saying it is the best place, but I definitely recommend it if you’re okay with waiting a while. They are quite slow, but the one I go to is right next to the mall so you can always just waste some time.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND GETTING TATTOOED HERE. This is my experience. First of all the minimum pricing is $100 so even if it’s a small tattoo (like mine) it will be $100. Which is fairly normal and is not a deal breaker expect my tattoo looks like garbage. I got a tattoo behind my ear of a small star. Nothing hard or fancy, after it healed I noticed the ink had pretty much all disappeared and it was essentially a gray blob. So I thought maybe that just happens I’ll get it touched up. So I called to get an appointment and they told me I have to wait 3 months before I can get it touched up, which my artist never mentioned to me. So I wait the 3 months and I go in and he went over it again for free and said it should be good now, and I would have expected it to since it’s super small and been done twice. Nope! It looks just the same as before after being healed. Now all of my other tattoos have never done this so I’m only assuming it was the artist or/and the ink he used. This was my experience, I will have to get it properly fixed somewhere else and so I’d say it’s not worth it to come here for a tattoo. I have had a piercing done here and it was perfect. So thumbs up for piercings, thumbs down for tattoos .
Ive gotten four of my piercings at Deep roots in Lynnwood & I will now never go anywhere else, I love the facility, its very clean and professional which makes me much more comfortable & although the staff can come off a bit rude they are not by any means and once they start really talking to you its easy to see that. Theyve never failed to make me feel as comfortable as possible and have always helped calm my nerves. Theyre also very quick with not only the piercing but helping you get on your way which I appreciate greatly.
I came in with my daughter yesterday to get her ears pierced. I am very sensitive to energy and stimuli. It was a busy day at the shop. Many noises going on at once. The tattoo gun, someone nailing something to the wall, phones ringing, people talking and asking questions. I became overwhelmed quickly. There was necessary paperwork to fill out so I wasn’t able to leave immediately. I was obviously distressed and confided in one person behind the counter that I was struggling and wanted to complete paperwork outside. The response I got was that of understanding and grace. Not just from one staff member but two. This completely changed my experience. I felt listened to and cared for. There are a lot of atypical pressures in the world right now. I was so touched to be treated with compassion rather than being ostracized or judged.. One of those moments where my faith in humanity was strengthened. We had an amazing piercing artist that did a wonderful job. I am so glad there is a shop that takes cleanliness and customer service to the next level. So grateful for my experience. Thank you!
Brought my teenager to get their ears pierced. It was a great experience from walking into the store until we left.
Went there today to get my helix and rook piercings done. The girl at the front desk was super helpful and friendly and the piercing equipment used was really sterile and seemed legit. My piercer made sure I was comfortable, answered all my questions, and talked me through the process while she was piercing me. Overall it was a great experience and Ill definitely recommend the place to anyone that wants a piercing!
Went here for nose piercing. Had a good experience. The staff was friendly. I loved the piercing job they did.Overall the place was clean.
Horrible customer service. From the lady who answered the phone today and earlier this week.I guess sending a email saying you are going to cancel. Is not good enough. It’s a hour and half drive. They blow you up by text, phone and email. I have not in 10 years going to them dealt with a a ton unprofessional to me. This was my first time at this location in May. Not recommended. Not worth the 1 star.
My 10 year old daughter wanted her ears pierced. I brought her here and the staff was so amazing, nice and kind. The lady doing the piercing took the time with my daughter to make her feel comfortable. 1000% would recommend Deep Roots Tattoo.
Ive been in twice, and everyone is always so kind, professional, and patient if you have questions. When I walked to the back to get one of my first piercings I said It looks like a doctors office! And they said, Well yeah, you want everything to be clean. Amazing! I had only ever seen shops/parlors that werent this clean or nice looking. The next time I went in for my brothers birthday and because I had a question about a piercing I had received from a different place. They were so professional for my brothers piercing and helped calm any nerves, answered all questions for him. I asked about an infected navel piercing and the guy told me it was infected because it was pierced incorrectly and told me he would take it out for me, how to handle it and what it should be pierced with if I want to redo it. I wish I remembered his name, he was really tall and had huge gauges and tattoos (way to be specific, right? Lol) Great service no matter what and will continue to recommend (:
Sarah and Dave were so incredibly friendly, helpful and professional! A large group of us came in an hour before closing and instead of being grouchy they were so nice and made each of our piercings a positive experience. Super clean and super helpful. Definitely recommend!
Ive had two piercings done by Luke so far this summer and my experience both times was outstanding! Any nerves I had about either experience were instantly diminished as soon as he started talking with me and joking around. Hes such a nice guy and an even better piercer. He answered all my questions thoroughly and I dont plan on letting anyone else but him come near me with a needle. I would recommend him to anyone! The overall atmosphere at Deep Roots is a very welcoming one and they clearly take sanitation very seriously
I went in a few weeks ago to have some new jewelry put in my rook and tragus. I bought a nice barbell with a triangle shape 3 stone end. The front desk staff and I discussed how my rook was a bit deeper than usual and I was worried about how the stones would look after being put in. There werent many options for captive bead which is what I wanted so decided on the stones/barbell. The piercer and I agreed it was a bit deep and hard to see the jewels, talked to front desk again and said I wasnt super happy with how it looked. Front desk assured me it looked ok and acted as if not much they can do. I looked at the captive beads but none were the size I needed, surprised at the lack of selection for them and needed something soon so hole would be ok so decided to get barbell one. After just a day or two home my ear became very hot to touch and so swollen that I had to remove the earring from the pain. After looking in mirror I could see that the 3 stones were rubbing inside my rook area making it all irritated. This is what I was trying to explain at the shop as well that it wasnt looking right. I called for 4-5 days in a row with no luck getting anyone to answer. After a week I finally talked to the front desk, same person that was in store when I was there. Explained I want to figure out a solution for this since was very expensive and only had less than a week. Was told they would escalate my claim and be sure to get back to me. Its been over a week now and no response at all. Not happy with my experience here or the customer service. I am not sure the owner even knows but I know they read there so hoping to get some response.
Very clean and professional shop. The jewelry is on the expensive side but its all very high quality and well worth it. They have some of the most beautiful jewelry Ive ever seen. Everyone there is extremely helpful and friendly and my piercing went off without a hitch. Id highly recommend this place.
Love deep roots! Theyre my go to piercing studio
Love the staff here. From the person that greets you up front, to the skilled piercing staff, I get my questions answered and feel confident the equipment is high end and the products are good quality. My daughter loves her opal stud she bought for her ear cartilage.
Love this place. they have many jewelry options and the costumer service is great, very patient and kind people even helped me with some earrings i thought i had broken. high quality stuff everything is real.
This is a review for the artist Cory Smoku @cenotaphtat2Not a reflection of this shop as a whole, but just a word of advice for others looking for an artist.I was tattooed by Cory a few months back in Portland; the tattoo was poorly done with blowouts/bad ink application. But to make matters worse the artist completely changed the font AFTER the stencil was applied and added details (shadowing/dots) that was not communicated with me during the session. It’s a shame because the artist’s Instagram portfolio looks great, but that was not my experience. After a whole ordeal I was very clear and honest with Cory that I did not like the work that was done and that I was already lookin into my options of getting the tattoo removed because I was not comfortable with letting him rework or fix it. He ignored me until it reached a level that he couldn’t ignore the social media attention he was getting when I put my experience out there.Ultimately told me he would refund me the 300$ cost of my tattoo. To this day, I have not been given my money back and he continues to ignore me. Yikes. For now I’m stuck with a tattoo that makes me depressed to even look at.And Cory, if you see this, I’m still open to letting you make it right. And I’ll remove this review.
I have been here off and on for several years. I have met many artists and piercers and have always been for the most part impressed. About 3 months ago I went in to repierce a healed spot. I liked it so much that I took out a different piercing and had that one repierced today. Both times I saw Ben and he has shown me so much more knowledge and confidence in his skills than other piercers I have worked with in the past. I will definitely be going to him for any other piercings in my future.
7yr old daughter got her ear piercing here. Ben was super patient and answered all her questions and put her at ease. He went slow and didnt rush anything. Explained every step of the process and she didnt even cry. Great experience and would return!
The actual piercing was fine. I got a triple frontal helix and the guy who pierced me was okay. A little fidgety but its a tight spot so it was understandable. I asked a lot of questions about what jewelry to use and if it was a good idea to get all three piercings at once or if I should get one or two at a time. The guy brushed me off and really just seemed to want to get me out the door. I had called earlier about the prices and was never told I was going to be charged for each back, bar, and stud of each earring. Went in to I would spend about $180 and ended up paying close to $300. Had a terrible infection weeks later, went in and the guy just handed me more sea salt and didnt want to answer any questions I had. Had to get them re pierced later at a different shop with different jewelry and only two that time. Terrible experience. Was so excited before and now never ever going back. An awful lot of bad service and money wasted.
I recently got tattooed by Devon, and it was the best experience I couldve hoped for at a tattoo shop. This place is extremely clean and vivid, the staff are welcoming and friendly, and the artists are amazing. My tattoo is small but very meaningful to me, and Devon helped me right away and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He even gave me professional advice instead of just doing what I wanted and it turning out wrong in the future. I trusted him completely and he did a wonderful job. My tattoo didnt even scab or or get all gross. Highly recommend
Friendly and professional team. Great selection of jewelry. This is my go to place for piercings. Dave has done most of my piercings, he makes it as easy and painless as possible and always has a smile on his face. They use the best and safest jewelry and are APP members so you know theyll take the best care.
I went to get 3 nose rings changed and at first I was super exited. when I was getting my piercings done I didn’t see the jewelry, but I had said I wanted small hoops and my septum right close to my nose, so it is partly my fault for not asking to see, but then after it was done I looked in the mirror and it definitely wasn’t what I asked for. He came in the room with three or so cups of jewelry because he said they weren’t sure what they were going to do yet, but if they didn’t have the color I was looking for, and couldn’t do the size I really would have preferred I was just told up front so I could continue looking or choose something else I would like better than what ended up being installed. At that point the piercer seemed pretty frustrated with me because I was twitchy so I just took the hit and left super embarrassed. I definitely won’t be going back because of the experience I had, but their front staff was really nice and the piercer was initially really chill too. I tried to leave a decent tip for him because I think I was considered an annoying customer at that point and I felt really bad. Good selection of jewelry as well. Now that I think back, my nose wasn’t sterilized when the jewelry was changed which left me feeling pretty weird about the whole thing as well.
Deep Roots came highly recommended to me, and I continue to highly recommend it to others! The rooms are private, the staff are kind and professional and go above and beyond to make you happy and comfortable. Im very happy with the piercings Ive gotten here, and I cant wait to come back for more!
Dave and Sara(h) were rad to work with! The whole team was helpful and inviting! They made me feel super comfortable all things considered 😊 😉 cant wait to go back for more work! They carry the best, safest jewelry options for human bodies!Their selection was grand and fit for all budgets :)
Highly recommend if you are looking for piercings. Front house staff is knowledgeable and professional. Artists are the same. They have good practices that will set you up for success with your piercings. My jewelry and piercing were around $200 which may seem steep but was worth it.
Different vibe from most other shops Ive visited. They accommodated a walk-in tattoo request for my partner and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely more commercial feel, and I wasnt surprised to hear that they have more than one location since it sort of felt like a franchise rather than a mom & pop place (which is good and bad: cleaner, less white-supremacy feel than most of the shops up north, but more sterile and missing character). Decent music and adequate waiting area seating, and I was invited by the artist to sit with my partner while he got his tattoo. All the artists seemed professional and competent and friendly.
Big up to Preston Hawke and the crew at Deep Roots Tattoo & Piercing. This place is AMAZING. Felt completely safe and comfortable getting my tattoo. Being able to schedule consults and appointments online cuts back on time spent in the shop. So convenient and accommodating. Masks required. Temperatures taken. Questionnaire completion required. Appointments taken. Amazing artists, incredible jewelry, and super cool receptionists. Cash and cards accepted. Wheelchair and scooter accessible. Plenty of Free parking on site. Give em a call or hit em up online, you wont be sorry. Relax and enjoy!
Cant give enough stars!! Had a sensitive area piercing with Dave and the whole process was great. Barely any pain during the actual procedure, and no pain for days now afterwards. All of the staff was informative and friendly. And to those reviews stating that it doesnt say anywhere that jewelery costs extra, it does when you go to book your appointment, and if you ask about cost in person/on the phone, they will tell you that as well 💜 Ive literally never been pierced at a place where the jewelery wasnt extra, even Claires when I was 12.
I have been to a bunch of piercing places but due to them closing down or moving, I didnt have a go-to place... until now! I was in class yesterday and decided I wanted a few piercings and Deep Roots was on my way home so I made a same-day appointment with their easy online scheduling system and a couple hours later I was there and being checked-in by the NICEST front desk helper JC (or Jacey? Sorry!).The process was easy with their online form I filled out on my phone and within minutes JC was helping me pick out all kinds of jewelry options. My piercer, Dave, was also there helping me and making great recommendations based off my taste and preferences. They were both SO patient and SO kind with me during the whole process and didnt get annoyed with me when I asked the same questions a bunch haha.Once JC gave me a price estimate so I was aware, it was only a few minutes and Dave took me back and was so calm and charming during the whole thing. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to anyone looking to get piercings. They have so many options for jewelry but are so helpful in narrowing it down. The only thing that wasnt my favorite was the prices but you are paying for quality and all the jewelry was high-end so its expected. After some saving up in the next few weeks I will definitely be back for more!
This place is awesome. Shy at the front desk was incredibly helpful and super friendly. They were so patient while I took ages to pick some jewelry for my septum. I’ve also been pierced here a few times- it’s very clean and the piercers have done a great job. Highly recommend!
So Ill start this off by saying I just left and felt compelled to immediately write a review because my experience was that great. I previously had my nipples peirced from a shop in Florida and they got infected etc and I had to take them out, I heard a lot of amazing things about deep roots, but I did hear they were pricey. I feel 100% you get what you pay for, the jewelery and the professionalism that I received left me feeling so comfortable and so giddy. I love my new piercings and will continue to get pierced here while Im in Washington state. Luke was my piercer and made me feel super safe and explained the entire process. For sure recommend!!!
I got a second earlobe piercing on both ears. Staff was super friendly, and piercing was done by Dave. I totally recommend.
If i could give zero stars I would. My friend and I scheduled two appointments for piercings at 12:45pm and 1:10pm. We arrived at the location approximately 10 or so minutes early and their was a sign on the front door asking for us to remain outside until an employee came to get us. Around 12:50 or so an employee let us in, got our information and then had us fill out the paperwork. We sat around for another 5 minutes or so waiting for someone to fell us what to do next. We then proceeded to look at the jewelry and picked out what we wanted in a few minutes than were asked to sit and wait for the piercer. We waiting until 1:20pm and grew incredibly impatient. I went to the counter to ask an eta of when we could expect to be pulled back since it was already past the time of both the start points for the times we scheduled. An employee responded very rudely and said that it would be a bit longer and to be patient. I explained that we had been waiting for a long time and we were already supposed to be finished with one appointment and the other should have at least started by now. The employee then looked at the schedule, said um I dont think so then walked to the back to check the status of the piercer i would assume. The employee then came back to me and said they were in the restroom and it would be another 10-15 minutes. My frustration grew as the employee was speaking because of their tone and quite frankly poor customer service. We were not once told they were behind, asked if we could wait longer to get in, nothing. We then told the 3 employees at the front desk that we were leaving and the reason why. The same employee that was speaking with me said and I quote ok bye and another employee said very passively you can always reschedule. I am blown away that this intolerant and gross customer service is allowed here. I will never go to this location again and I do not recommend to anyone.
My initial impression of the shop was very positive and I found the staff very informative. But as I continued to be a customer I found the staff was unsupportive of my choices. I was intentionally seeking high quality jewelry that was as petite and delicate as possible. I also love icy looking metals.A staff member would not STOP pushing the idea of larger piercings, but in warmer tones. I had to repeatedly humor these suggestions and politely decline and push for what I was asking for in the first place. The staff member finally shook his head and said “then what’s the POINT?!” The point is that my expression is entirely different from yours and I like it. 😓Unfortunately this was not the only staff member that made me feel this way. It feels like the staff here are more invested/interested in customers who share their more extreme preferences. Which I understand, it’s cool to vibe with someone who “gets” you.it was disappointing to feel judged in a setting where we should be allowed to explore our identity. It’s left a bad taste in my mind and I don’t think I’ll be going back.
Came in for a micro dermal anchor removal and just had a lovely experience from start to end. Welcoming/kind staff, gentle and professional piercer who handled my procedure perfectly, clean and well maintained environment & affordable prices. Ill for sure be coming back. Thanks guys!
Our daughter got her ears pierced for the first time here. They were super clean, professional, and caring. Dave took his time to explain everything and was very quick and gentle. We would highly recommend them!!!
I took my 11 year old here for his ear piercing. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. My piercer was quick and efficient. The shop is extremely clean and bright. The ear was expensive, but you get what you pay for. Thanks!
I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews that the customer service here was terrible and go to Slave to the Needle. The piercing experience itself was fine. Though they clearly have quality control issues as the piercer had to open about 5 different packages to get the correct size as they were all labeled wrong. After the piercing, the decorative front kept dislodging and falling out of the post. I went back to report the issue and was told, yeah, sometimes theyre defective. No offer to replace it. No offer to discount a replacement. $80 later and I have a new set of piercings that dont fall out. And after someone had to replace the piercings - i.e. put in a new pair of earrings that literally took two seconds, I was asked repeatedly to tip. No thank you. I can change my own earrings that I just paid $80 for.
I got my first piercing, a nose piercing, done by Dave Gillstrap and absolutely love it. The whole team was tremendously helpful from when I got first pierced with my stud to when I got my ring. I highly recommend their expertise and plan to come back for any future piercings!
I brought my sister here to get her nose pierced. The guy working the front counter was super helpful and friendly. He answered all of her questions about the jewelry (quality, pricing, etc). The shop was very clean and welcoming. Well be back!
I went in on my birthday willing to drop $600 right then and there on my new jewelry. I shopped and tried to find the perfect sets only to discover that nothing in the store would really work together or what I did love was in the wrong setting or size. They tell me I can custom order things and to leave my request and theyd get back to me within a couple days.I was super bummed as it was, to walk out with nothing when I wanted something so badly ...but then I never received the phone call about my custom order...its been three weeks! They wouldnt even tell me what size septum Id need, just eyeballed it and said itd probably work... spending $200 on something thatll probably work doesnt seem super smart.Ill be placing my order elsewhere. Its a super bummer because theyre much more convenient to get to than the u-district but oh well.Edit! They finally called me after one month!I didnt even mention custom orders take 8-16 weeks to make! So add an extra 4 for their response time.Seriously, this place is awful.
Good service despite being pretty busy. They were very nice and patient with my daughter who was nervous about getting her ears pierced. Wish they had a little bit more of a jewelry selection that is middle of the road price-wise. Overall, a place I recommend.
Love this place. Extremely clean shop, friendly, knowledgeable staff, excellent artists. Ive gotten the majority of my many piercings done here and several of my many tattoos as well. I will NOT go anywhere else. I even took my mom and son for their nostril piercings and buy all my jewelry from them.
Super clean, and I love all their jewelry they carry! Its quite the collection! I had my rook pierced here, and Ive also had help putting in a new cartilage earring on more then one occasion. Super nice and helpful staff.
I came in to Deep Roots today to get my daughters ears pierced. The shop was quite large and obviously very clean. My daughter especially wants to let Dave know that she is grateful he was so nice to her, even after she cried. Thank you for the great experience!
I hate to write a bad review, because the guy was so nice, but my experience was not a good one here. I brought my own jewelry to use as it said per email you have to come an hour early to sanitize. I did just for the rude front lady to tell me I cant use it. There were 2 people infront of me getting ear piercings. I waited almost 2 hours for a simple ear piercing! Everything looked fine at first but when I went home and put in my other peircings, they were not even! I paid $140 for 1 piercing on each ear, only for it to be un-even. Go somewhere else for a peircing.
Went in for a jewellery change for my recently pierced nose. The awesome staff helped me pick the perfect ring and the piercer (Dave I believe) was super friendly and professional. Jewellery was changed out quickly and painlessly.
Had an amazing experience and love my ink! Aaron is amazing! I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for quality tattoos.
So impressed with this tattoo shop. I’ve been wanting a big piece for awhile but could not find a shop that had a good vibe. Right when I walked in the gal behind the desk welcomed me and I told her what I wanted and she introduced me to Chris. He was super approachable and non-judgmental but also gave his honest opinion while keep my original idea and together and up with this amazing piece. For only $240 and 2.5 hours later. I am so happy with it! So shout out to Chris and the person at the front desk! Definitely recommend and going back for my next one.
They were very friendly but I will never go back because nobody told me that the piercings that I have gotten would cost more to tighten them. I didnt know much about piercing and for them to tell me that I need a bigger bar for the swelling but not that it would cost me more to put a tighter back on my piercings makes me feel tricked and very frustrated. I could of planned the cost of things if they just told me. Thought about taking them to court but I threw my receipt away... keep your receipt.General manager acted like I was an idiot for not understanding that this issue wasnt in the package and refused to do anything about it. Very disappointing, no wonder why deep roots gets sued so often.
I schedule to change my nose ring and was ten minutes late and they refuse to see me. They said to reschedule because another client was coming in. I was there for almost 30 minutes to see which jewelry to buy and replace it and that whole time, no body showed up. Terrible customer service.
What is the point of making an appointment if the people behind you get priority. I just wanted to buy a new stud. The girl had zero personality. They do not disclose that they require you to fill out all of your personal information to enter and take a picture of your id. My boyfriend was asked to wait outside while a group of 4 people was allowed in behind me. I wouldnt be so upset if I was atleast able to go in talk to the associate and be able to buy a stud. Should have been a quick experience. I will drive out of my way to the much better u district location next time.
This is by far my favorite place for tattoos and piercings !! Kelly and Dave were the people who helped me out today and I love my new piercings. Service is great and it wasnt too long of a wait. Super clean place and overall amazing !!
Very pleasant experience here! Cal’s energy just gets you excited about all the beautiful jewelry they have, her passion and knowledge shines right through. Ben is Amazing! I went in to get my tragus jewelry switched out and it was the easiest process ever! Highly recommend this place.
Everyone at this location has been the absolute best since i started my piercing journey in 2018. i have a total of 20 ear piercings, a nostril and a septum that were all done here (besides my first and second lobes done at claires that were lopsided that dave fixed for me !). about 90% of my piercings have been done by dave specifically. i will not let anyone touch my ears unless it is dave. yes,, it is quite expensive but it is so worth it between the awesome service and the quality of jewelrymoral of the story if you learn anything from this review it is1.go to deep roots in alderwood, definitely NOT claires2. try to see dave, although im sure they are all phenomenal3. dave can fix anything claires messed up4. DAVEE!!!
The jewelry can be a bit expensive, but that is because all of their jewelry is high quality. I would request about prices early so you don’t end up finding something you really like and it’s all to expensive. They switch in and out jewelry for you free of charge. This location is very clean and the staff is awesome! Very helpful, friendly, and they just really care for their customers. When I’m in need of a new nose ring etc. I will definitely come back here
Came in today My Piercer was 20/10 he was awsome amazing thank you Dave! The reason for my low rating is the behind counter staff they were not the nicest i was trying to pick out jewelry and explaining to them what i had in mind. The one girl in particularly very rude and did not listen to me clearly, made assumptions about what I wanted, and overall I did not like the girls behind the counter main one i delt with was one with piercings between her Eyebrows shes rude and rushed me and had no patience what so ever. Im paying for this and thanks to me coming in to this establishment you still have a job, Please tell the girls behind the counter to have some decency, also a piercing is a big decision, so i need to take my time!Would i come back here? I would but only if i did not have to see the girls behind the counter.
Dave and the staff did a fantastic job. Our girls were nervous about getting their ears pierced but Dave walked them through everything and put them at ease. The store was very clean and we highly recommend them.
Absolutely stellar experience at Deep Roots! I went in for an industrial, the process was quick and easy. My piercer (will update with name later) was professional & knowledgeable. Will 100% return to get more work done.
I got my cartilage piercing changed out and Frankie did an awesome job at changing it as well as fixing my cartilage hoop and nose hoop! Will definitely get my future piercings done by him!
Every time I come here the staff is incredibly pretentious and makes me feel bad for not knowing every little detail of what I am supposed to do. I called to ask about how I would go about talking to an artist for my first tattoo, they acted annoyed that I didn’t know it was called a “consult”. When asked what I wanted to get tattooed, I told them I wanted the faces of two people and they said “you want faces??” as if it was a bad idea. When I got my belly button pierced here I was treated with a similar energy. The staff treats you as if you are not worth their time of day and I have never left here without feeling as if I made their day worse by coming to this establishment. It’s not to say that the work performed is unsatisfactory, because they are good at their jobs, but the attitude of the workers here is just so unpleasant that I cannot see myself coming here ever again.
I have never gotten any tattoos here, but i have gotten multiple piercings. Kellan is an amazing and very experienced piercer, I would highly recommend him to anyone. Also the service here is always amazing, they have kind, informative and helpful people working here. ALSO, the jewelry they have here would make anyone into body mods go wild, they have beautiful jewelry from all styles.
Got a septum piercing and it was nearly painless and very quick. I enjoyed the experience and service there so much I wish I could get my septum pierced again but not look foolish doing it. Quality piercing, sanitation, service, and jewelry at a fair price (high cost but top quality).
We went to downsize the ear piercings for my daughter. After a week she was complaining that her ear hurts. When I took a look and touched the ear with my finger, a lot of pus came out. Her piercing got infected.I saw how hard they pushed that piercing in her ear and it started bleeding immediately.I expected that they would sanitize that area after this happened but unfortunately they did not.
Overpriced jewelry, overpriced piercing fee. They wanted to charge me almost 200 for a stud. They don’t offer stainless steel options and don’t tell you until you’ve wasted enough of your time. Very pushy employee that helped me. I called silver safari and they were a fraction of the price with the same if not more professionalism. Don’t go here if you’re not rich
Kellan did my Tragus piercing and he switched out my rook piercing for me. He was super friendly, professional and very knowledgeable! I have several piercings and I felt he has done the best job so far. Also, the guy at the front desk was super friendly and informative about the jewelry.
I had a wonderful experience getting my nose pierced. The piercer was friendly and very knowledgeable. The service and jewelry were more on the expensive side, however I do not feel like I over paid in anyway!
Just got my ears pierced by Ben. Hardly felt anything. The staff here is wonderful. Everyone was super nice, and made me feel right at home. Professional atmosphere, comfortable seating, and they even give you water while you wait! Quite necessary on these 90 degree days. Couldnt have asked for a better experience.
Had a consultation to get my fingers tattood (a 5 minute consultation at most) waited in the lobby for 45 minutes without the tattoo artist even saying a single word to me before I left. They clearly do not value your time like they value their own. Some of the work ethic of tattoo artists nowadays is just not there.Theres no way Im coming back here. So much time wasted on something that shouldve been so quick and easy. Not a good way to run a business
I went and got my belly button and my tongue pierced here and they were very kind and considerate. After it was all said and done they told me that Im going to be light headed that i should sit down. So i did and they brought me a glass of water and some tums, they were very conserned about me which is something you only see very rarely. So i would totally recommend going here to get piercings done.
Kyle recently did my second nose piercing, he nailed it and made me feel so comfortable. The whole experience was great and everyone at the shop was professional and polite, not to mention the place was spotless and super sanitary procedures.
Knowledgeable staff for piercing services. A bit on the pricey side, but I expect that for the neighborhood. Ive been here for a few fixes and a recent helix piercing. They do good work. Shop is almost always busy whenever Ive been in.
I had my septum pierced here and it was fast, professional, clean and comfortable! Bellevue location was also great and helped me change the jewelry piece when I couldnt see and it fell out. Theyre a great team!!
Came for a tattoo to be finished by a new artist because my old one no longer works there. I wanted to finish my sleeve tattoo and its taking the artist FOREVERRRR. I waited 2 hours till my actual tattoo started and when it was time to go back there I waited another 30 minutes till he printed up my tattoo. And whats worst about all this is that my tattoo was not finished in one Seating. He wanted me to come back multiple times waiting weeks for my next apt. to finish up most of the tattoo and then told me after the 1st seating that they couldnt finish the whole sleeve because it wont match up right and I need to leave it blank or add something else😱🙄 wth.. I was told in my email consultation that it would cost me about up to 400$ to finish my sleeve and I ended up paying 380$ just for like a 1/4 of the tattoo. Why charge me for tattooing time when you were making me wait 2.5 hours to make my tattoo. My tattoo was just 1s and 0s that is EASY. Should have told me from beginning that you couldnt do it. Not gonna name the artist but dear God its the worse experience Ive ever had. And I have gotten many other tattoos.
I have only ever gotten piercings at this shop and they are experts. I would highly recommend for both piercings and jewelry changes. A few times I have run into problems with my piercings (my own clumsiness) and the piercers have given me both advice and help for free. Anytime I have a problem this is where I come and who I truly trust to do most, if not all, my future piercings.
I came in as a walk-in and had a great experience! I came with a sort-of idea and the artist who tattooed me turned it into something absolutely amazing. The place is super clean and professional, all of the people who worked there are wonderful, and the tattoo was amazing. I would highly recommend going here. To top everything off, the artist could have definitely charged more than he did, but kept the price fair.
This place is clean, the staff are always kind and accepting, and they answer any and all questions about their procedures. Ive had both tattoos and piercings here and I felt very comfortable, as much as you can of course, letting them modify my body.
Love coming here! Always friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and extremely welcoming. Amazing selection, that I doubt you’ll find anywhere else. And, the shop is down right beautiful and comfortable.
Amazing experience overall. I am a repeat customer. From the moment I walked in to the moment walking out, I felt comfortable and confident with the everyones general knowledgeability of the trade and the piercers skill level. You are guaranteed quality jewelry with quality metal, and a sterile modification. Kyle did my daith today, and he was kind, efficient, and pierced me with ease before I had time to overthink anything or get anxious. I appreciated his perceptiveness and was once again happy to have a virtually painless experience! Its true: what you pay for a piercing is indicative of quality overall. Dont be afraid to invest in jewelry! Deep Roots all the way. ❤️
Only been here for my piercings so far, 4 of my piercings were from here. But theyre amazingIve had some piercings that the original piercer kept giving me defective jewelry, so Deep Roots would help me figure it out and then recommended better jewelry which Ive had no problem with!
Don’t bother going here. They do not and will not acknowledge you or even talk to you. Waste of time and very very poor customer service.
Go somewhere else, we called to book and appointment and when we showed up for our appointment they sent us to a different location and made us fill out paperwork at each location! Then the artist has the audacity to deny what my mother wanted for a tattoo and suggested he could do something else and tried to talk her into covering up another tattoo that she got from a close friend that passed even after her explaining how much that tattoo meant to her. These people are seriously not good artists if they cant listen to what their customers want and are too scared to do what they already said they could do! What a waste of time!
Updates to 4 stars. I talked to a manager and the the owner of the shop agreed to pierce my septum for me. Its only human to make mistakes now and then so Im not mad at the person who did my septum originally but the thought of going back to him again just didnt make sense. Thanks for helping me out and working with me! Now I can still recommend this place to people!Original post: I got my septum pierced here and it was seriously crooked . I wanted to get it done by another piercer but I was told if I wanted it for free that I would have to have to done but the same guy! Why would I want the person who messed my nose up mess my nose up again?!
I got my first tattoo done here by Preston and it was swiftest experience ever. And I got it done for a good price too! Definitely recommend and I’m totally coming back here for other tatts!
Great pricing! Great staff! They were super kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Ben and David are the best piercers they talk you through everything and know what they are doing. I highly recommend coming here I most definitely will be back! If I could give 100 stars I would 👍
Got my first facial piercing here, reasonable pricing and a good first experience. Kellan has a good manner and great piercing skills. Very calm but professional atmosphere, felt well taken care of.
MAJOR UPDATE:Well, my 6 weeks is up and time to take out my studs... this is the beginning of part 2 of my horror story. I went to take out the back of my studs to put in new earrings that I had bought and the clasp became stuck in my earlobe. Yes, you read that correctly - my earlobe! I had to go to the doctor to get it removed. I went to the doctor with blood dripping down my ear. She injected me with lidocaine and proceeded to pull the ENTIRE earring through my lobe.I asked her to undo the the other earring because at this point I was traumatized and scared to do it by myself. As she went to undo the back, she exclaimed in surprise that the back did not screw off! She asked me if I was given any special instructions on how to take off my earrings. I told her that I was unaware that there was a special way to take off these earrings. I repeat, I was not given special instructions on how to take off these earrings. After examining the earrings, she could not figure out how to take it off and suggested pulling the whole thing through my ear like she had just done with the other. Thus, I was again injected with Lidocaine and had the ENTIRE earring pulled through my ear to get it out. It was horrible and extremely painful as you can imagine! It wasnt until I had arrived home from this god-awful ordeal, that I had a chance to examine the earrings. The initial earring that was pulled through my ear, that is caked in dried blood, was able to be unclasped by forcefully unscrewed from the front of the earring where the stud is. The other earring was stuck and could not be unscrewed without a lot of effort and time, which is probably why the doctor thought the earring was all one unit. This would have been great information to have hours ago before I had two studs, clasps and all, pulled through my ears.Thinking back on my visit when I had gotten my ears pierced, I remember the place being very busy. They had a whole list of other people wanting a piercing done so I think they were trying to get me out of there in order to see all of their clients and therefore forgot to impart some very crucial information to me.Never go to this place! They were super shady when it came to the bill and their inability to properly communicate instructions cost me a lot of money, as well as caused me a lot of pain. This was absolutely traumatizing and I will never go back to such an unprofessional business. I will also actively advocate to all of my friends that they should avoid this place at all costs. Additionally, I plan on reporting a complaint to the attorney general so that no one will go through the same ordeal as me.Original post:At first, my experience at Deep Roots was great. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I just went in to get my ears pierced - nothing to dramatic, right? Anyway, when I went to pick out my studs, the lady at the front told me they were $40ish. (In hindsight, I should have made her give me an exact quote). So, I get my ears-pieced and the man was super professional and thorough. HOWEVER, when I went to pay, my bill was a lot more than what it should have been! I was expecting a bill around $65 ($25 for getting the piercing and $40 for the earrings). But no! It was a bill of $125. What the lady at the front oh-so generously forgot to mention was that it was more than just $40 and it was per earring and not as a set. My whole experience there has been soured by their lack of transparency. That was just shady. I wish I had put up more of a fight at the counter but since the product was already in my body and not something i could exactly return, I was not sure what I could do at that moment. I personally wont be going back and I would suggest everyone else take caution if they do choose to go there.Deep Roots, this may seem harsh since it could have been an honest oversight on your part, but it was an expensive oversight for me. Please invest in some type of sign clarifying the price of the jewelry.
Got a double helix piercing here, frankie pistone did it and was amazing! he was very friendly and informative and made the experience easy and painless :)
I just got my ears pierced and they look amazing. The piercer George was very nice and did a great job . 10/10 would definitely come again.
I got a body piercing done here not too long ago and the piercing experience was alright, but the people who work here are extremely rude. I had asked the person who did the piercing to count down (which helps calm my nerves) but he basically said no, and did it his own way. In addition to this, after I had payed and was leaving a tip, the cashier said Oh, we normally expect higher tips than this. I was a little baffled, the piercing was ~$60 and the piercer didnt even acknowledge my suggestion to count down before the piercing. I was trying to tip them $5 to be nice, and they were very rude about it and tried to ask for a bigger tip. I ended up telling them $5 was all I had and left. Never coming back here again.
Was happy with them up til today... Josh was working on my sleeve, I gave input and asked for something to be done a specific way, and all he had to say was No, Im not doing that. Its my skin, this tattoo is gonna be on me forever, so Im pretty sure you should do it the way I want it. So unprofessional and so incredibly rude!Edit: Went to Hometown Tattoo in Bothell to get it finished and Im very happy with the result! They were able to correct the parts of the piece I had asked josh to change, so it finally looks the way I wanted it to. Go to Hometown instead!
Awesome place, clean, friendly, good selection of jewelry and I had a pretty experienced piercer, Travis! Took my walk in with no issue and had me walking out paid and everything pretty quickly. I would highly suggest it, not to mention fair prices!
If you are looking to get a piercing done go to Kyle at Lynnwood Deep Roots! Hes professional, experienced, and friendly. He explained to me the process of my piercing and how it was going to heal, and he definitely made me feel at ease about the whole process; he knows what hes doing. I highly recommend Deep Roots for all piercings that one is looking to get!
My best friend got her nose pierced here two weeks ago, and it was great! Everyone answered all of our questions, and it was super quick and easy! Definitely coming back soon to get my nose pierced!
The staff is so great here. I cam here looking for some new nipple bars. The person that helped me explained that the ones I wanted were bigger than the current ones I had but explained that they could gage them bigger to fit. He was very gentle and made this as painless as possible plus we got a great deal on them!
The piercer who did mine today was soooooo personable and sweet!! She made me feel so good and I just love the overall vibe there ❤️❤️ Will definitely be coming back for more piercings and tattoos!
Great place! I got my third lobe piercing there after having got my second done at Claires and it got infected. Everyone there was nice and they gave clear instructions about the healing. I had a great expirience!👍
Every piercing ive ever had done has been by deep roots, 4 in total. I love there professionalism and jewellery QUALITY which is huge because i have sensitive allergy prone skin, i know im getting best quality jewelry from them! Jesus lives and all we need to do is believe on Him. God bless!!
I had such an amazing experience at this shop. The woman at the front desk was super nice and helpful. I got my nose and naval pierced and the piercer was great. He explained everything to me and was really friendly. Highly recommended this place!
Well before Devon moved was great. Got tattooed by another guy named Corey. Kind of disappointed by the fact I had $100 deposit down before I got pregnant and the guy Devon doing my cover ups moved. Wasnt able to get refunded that money so decided to just switch it to another tattoo once I was no longer pregnant. 11 minute tattoo ended up costing another $100. So $200 total. Kind of a scam and the guy rushed it the line work is definetely not what I expected for him to be charging $200 an hour. Highly disappointed. Dude also couldnt tattoo above or below the mole he couldnt tattoo on , weird he didnt think about the placement. Considering it was on the back of my neck I could not see that the transfer was on a mole. Learned my lesson going to people who dont have your best interest. Wouldnt recommend him 😂
I havent been here in quite a few years. They still got it! Travis was my boy today. Gave me a double labret. Precise af. They have cost effective jewelry, still good quality, all the way to some really nice custom pieces. I appreciate the level of professionalism and the great vibes! 10/10 will go again.
Love the shop. The staff are always super helpful and the piercers are top notch.
Great shop! It’s super clean and everyone is super friendly. Inquired about getting nose pierced and the same day a few hours later I was in. Highly recommend!
Kellan Smith is your dude if you want a quick and painless, but very high quality piercing. I had my septum re-pierced, after my previous piercer butchered my piercing, but Kellan took the time to explain the procedure of the piercing and answered all my concerns with patience, would defiantly recommend him and the staff at this shop, everybody was so friendly and helpful.
Chad was an amazing piercer/ stand up comedian I would recommend. I’m very satisfied with my nipple piercings and the experience I had getting them
We needed to do an emergency stop to get piercing spacers for my wife’s surgery and they were extremely accommodating and got us what we needed!
