Home Sweet Home Tattoo is the cutest and most welcoming tattoo shop I’ve ever been to! The decor and atmosphere truly makes you feel at home. I’ve been a client of Magie’s for many years and have always been a huge fan of her work. It’s been such a blessing to see her grow into this latest iteration of her business. She is so compassionate, patient and supportive through the design process, she lets you know exactly what is going on through the whole process! She’s trained in trauma informed tattooing, and it really shows in her process. She offers snacks and drinks so you’re comfortable and maintain your energy throughout the session. I highly recommend visiting this amazing space and spending time with this amazing human!

Been going to magie for almost 20 years. It is great to have such an amazingly talented artist in her own created space where she can thrive and create masterpieces for her clients to wear on their skin for their whole lives. This shop is so cozy and comfortable to you will not want to go to the typical tattoo parlor again after experiencing this intimate setting.

Magie is an extremely talented artist. The shop is adorable and the name is a perfect fit. You really feel like you’re at home from the moment you walk in. Cozy, beautifully decorated with unique/vintage pieces. Shop is super clean. Magie offers drinks and snacks, and makes you feel comfortable if you need a break. Last week I went to the shop for my most recent appt and I absolutely love how it turned out. The new shop is super welcoming and Magie does a fantastic job of taking care of any questions or concerns. I randomly found Maggy’s uniquely creative tattoo shop while in the area and felt compelled to check it out. Thankfully, I did. Maggy did a simple yet symbolic tattoo to represent my love for my first born. Maggy demonstrated her skills in line work and expertise in color shading. Maggy also provided honest suggestions and options to choose from which is always nice. Beautiful shop to match a very skilled tattoo artist.

This shop is so cute, clean, and comfortable. Magies tattoo skills cant be beat! Ive gone to her for a few tattoos now and they are all so beautiful and meaningful. Magie does a great job making sure youre comfortable, the design is what you and its always executed even better than expected. Awesome spot tucked away around the corner from busy Springfield Ave in Maplewood. The vibe is charming & comfortable (as any place named Home Sweet Home should be) and Magies style is everything youd ever want from a tattoo shop. Shes got the chops from decades of experience in the craft. Shes also awesome to talk to!

I got a bigger piece that goes from above my wrist up to my bicep, my biggest tattoo by far. Magie was incredible working to work with to be sure I got exactly what I wanted. She held a free consultation so I could see the studio and get a feel for working with her since I have sensitive skin and can keloid if the artist isnt aware/careful so I already felt more comfortable knowing the studio was clean and safe. Day of, she let me help apply the stencil, check in the mirror as many time as I needed with no frustration (some artists get impatient), and further free handed additional parts on. Usually, I play on my phone to distract myself during sessions, but we talked and the vibes were high. I was there for just under 3 hours and the price and detailing on this tattoo was unbeatable. Definitely going back for my next one!!!

Maggie was AMAZING! When I first met with Maggie, she listened to what I wanted and was sensitive to the meaning behind my tattoo. Maggie spent time making sure that my vision and her creativeness were insync before finalizing my tat. She took her time and it came out more beautiful than I could have imagined. Magie gave me my first tattoo a month ago, and I absolutely love it! From the initial consult to the final drop of ink it was a great experience! Being my first I didn’t really know what to expect but she was so kind and understanding and I could not recommend her more! I’m already thinking about my next tattoo from Magie!

I’ve been getting tattooed by Magie for almost 10 years. She is the absolute best artist in my opinion in all categories. Neat and clean all the time, she couldnt be more meticulous! Takes her time but still gets it done in the time you need it done. The shop has a very homey feeling and she even has snacks and lets you put your own music(even if it is country lol). The picture I posted with this review is just partially done, however the detail and line work is like none other. Mind you she drew it on my arm with just a marker and looking at a picture. All the work you see in this photo is done by a single needle shading and all. I live in Staten Island, where I met Magie and started getting tattooed by her, and travel to Jersey. Worth every penny in tolls and gas! Needles to say I’d travel wherever she goes to get work done! Highly recommend.

Magie is the best! I just got a tattoo of something my son drew in 1st grade which on the surface is just a fairly simple line drawing, but now that its healing I can see that she nailed nearly microscopic details that made up the lines (i.e. the texture of the pencil on the paper). My mind was sufficiently blown by that. On top of her top notch work, the shop itself is awesome. Some of the cool things youll find there are Twin Peaks toys, groovy books and a snack cart for keeping your energy up in the middle of a tattoo. I will be back!

Great shop! I’ve been getting tattooed by Magie for a number of years - and she always exceeds my expectations. Her artistry is second to none, but more importantly, the process, from consultation to completed tattoo, is enjoyable and easy and fun as hell. Already planning my next tattoo with her!

I got a beautiful flower tattoo by Magie in 2016 with the intention of someday adding on to it, and 8 years and 2 kids later I finally returned to add more. Magie is a pleasure to work with! Not only is she a great artist, she’s professional, friendly, and makes sure you feel comfortable. She did an amazing job making my vision come to life and matching the new tattoo with the old. I had the pleasure of working with Magie and I’m very happy about it. I had a fine line floral on my back from a few years ago that I wanted to add to. I sent her a pic and told her what I was hoping for. She was able to match my current flowers and leaves, but created a new design that is so pretty and intricate. She tattooed my shoulder and upper arm. It came out really well. Magie makes you feel really comfortable the whole time. She’s great to talk to, her studio is unique and private— very cool decor. I highly recommend Magie and her fine lines!

SUCH A COOL SHOP! got a Tattoo on my thigh this weekend and had an overall 10/10 excellent experience. the artist and shop owner Magie was incredible. Wow, this shop is incredible! The owner is Magie Serpica, one of the most well-known and established tattoo artists in Brooklyn and Staten Island. She is a true ink master and can do multiple styles, from traditional to new school, Japanese, color, black and gray! She is also incredible with cover-ups, scars, or skin sensitivities. The shop is beautifully decorated, clean, professional, and very much Home Sweet Home, and she is LGBTQIA+ friendly. A short drive from the city and a beautiful experience all around!
