Thirteen Roses Tattoo is a top shelf tattoo shop. Extremely clean, well lit and a comfortable environment. My artist Matt is crazy talented!!! Matt has done a few good sized tattoos for me. Two cover ups and one addition. All three were larger than what I envisioned but I trusted Matt’s opinion and he’s nailed it every time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP! We traveled to St Louis with our 18 year old for her birthday because she wanted to get her first tattoo. As soon as we walked into Thirteen Roses, we knew this was the place we wanted to be. It’s open, clean and very inviting. The front desk worker was extremely friendly and helpful. We weren’t able to make an appointment because they were so booked (a good sign), but we were offered a spot if we were willing to wait a bit. The wait was even enjoyable because they had several large tv’s for entertainment and checkers! Luckily an awesome artist named Rachelle offered to stay past her last client to ink my daughter’s tattoo. She not only made my kiddo feel comfortable, she did an AMAZING job. We are 100% satisfied and honestly would consider traveling back to Thirteen Roses and Rachelle specifically for tattoos in the future. 5 Stars!!!

The vibe in this shop is friendly and welcoming from the front desk to the artist. I had a recommendation from a friend for Kevin and thats who did my tattoo. Kevin was incredibly kind and did a wonderful job. He even touched up a previous tattoo with no additional charge. I had wonderful experience and would recommend to anyone looking for a new tattoo.

I had a great experience getting my new Tattoo. The staff was super friendly and answered all my questions during the scheduling process. I was given Pj as my artist and that guy knows how to hold the driver if you know what I mean. They are awesome, definitely go to them for your next art piece.

Even though all of the tattoo artists are extremely talented and top notch at Thirteen Roses, I must mention Sage. Sage runs the Aesthetics side of the business. She is very knowledgeable and professional. She did my powder brows a couple of years ago and they still look great. Sage is so good at what she does and is such a joy to hang with while she works. The entire studio is so clean and cool. Thirteen Roses has an amazing team of creative artists!!!!!

The staff here are great!Everyone truly seems to have interest in each other and make it fun! Jason has been excellent to work with! His artwork is amazing and has some of the best lines I’ve seen in St. Louis. I had an injury earlier this year that causes some nerve issues. Jason has been incredibly patient and understanding throughout this process and helping me achieve the piece that I want. I highly recommend the shop and Jason to anyone considering black and gray work

The folks at 13 roses were great. I was able to get designs approved and project completed within 1 week. Communication with them was efficient and helpful.Heather did my project. Kevin is AWESOME! Did the design I sent in to the tee. It took around 2.5 hours and didn’t hurt too bad! It’s super clean in the shop as well, and super bright and comfortable. Definitely recommend to everyone!

I had a large half sleeve done here last week and it was a great experience. The shop was super clean, and everyone was very nice and engaging. My piece was done by Shelly, who did a wonderful job, and I will absolutely be going to her for future tattoos.

Thirteen Roses is the only place I will go to for any tattoo work. Tonight Kam did an amazing job on my latest piece; a tribute to my dad, who is the most amazing guy I know! We took one of my dad’s tattoos and gave it a beautifully updated look! I had an amazing experience at thirteen roses. All the staff was friendly and greeted me as soon as I entered the building. I had and appointment with Matt and I can definitely say his work speaks for itself. Matt was very chill and down to earth. I thoroughly enjoyed our session and my tattoo healed great. I didnt feel any pain and the healing process was a breeze. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone. Its clean and professional.

I went here a couple years ago to get a cover up tattoo. They did an amazing job, taking their time to consult with me and give suggestions to what would realistically turn out the best. They offered free touch ups as well. I went back for a touch up before I moved away and they wished me luck on my new travels.

I honestly had a terrible experience here. My friends and I walked in, excited to get tattoos, and were treated horribly. No welcome, no nothing, straight to business. It was a drab environment with no music and just an awkward silent tension. We waited for over an hour for the artist to even stencil my design, and we were never updated or talked to about why it was taking so long. So we left. Terrible time

I love Sage who is amazing with at lip blushing and microblading; she takes her time to meticulously make sure outlines and measurements are accurate and making sure filling in all the area appropriately. Shes so chill and with a calm, easy personality HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Just did the outline of my tattoo today and couldnt be happier. Patrick was super nice, made great recommendations for placement/size, but also made my experience so comfortable. His line work is so crisp and I am so excited for color. He is absolutely worth the wait!

Very disappointed in the work done by the artist whom was assigned to me. He did a nice detailed drawing, and thats where it ended. I was made to lay in the most awkward position for FOUR HOURS, unable to see the work as it was being done. After doing all the detailed lines, the artist put huge black smudges which I assume he felt was shadowing over his work. The end result looks like I have a big black blob on my leg. And thats the thing with tattoos; you cant take off black ink once its there. Tried to contact the shop and got zero response.

Heather is an amazing tattoo artist this is my second tattoo from her and after the first one healed it looked exactly how i imagined. she does great line work and wouldn’t trust anyone else to make my designs as perfect as they’ve turned out

Jason Krummel was great. The whole team from setting the appointment to the tattoo time were great. My wife wrote the excerpt below. My wife and daughter got matching tattoos. The tattoos look wonderful and Jason was so personable and professional. It was their first time getting tattoos and they both enjoyed it.When I was diagnosed with Goblet cell Adenocarcinoma of the colon (Appendix Cancer). I did not know what the future held, or God’s plan with me. My first and strongest prayer was that my family and friends would know that love connects us all and that my love for them will never end, go on forever. I wanted to do this for long time, not to be part of a trend or fad, but to show others I may not get a chance to talk to in person that love conquers all things and love goes on for infinity. I highly recommend Rachelle! She did an absolute amazing on my tattoo. She took my idea, drew it out and made it my own. She was very open to changes I wanted to make and she was quick to make changes. Very professional. The studio and all the staff there were really nice and welcoming. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

I wanted a pet portrait to honor my sweet pup of almost 17 years and PJ absolutely killed it. I cant tell you how many compliments I get on it. And the atmosphere at Thirteen Roses is so chill. I loved watching Netflix while getting tattooed. If it wasnt such a drive for me, I would get all my tattoos here.

I would not write a review except for you keep emailing me to review you. I got a tattoo about three years ago or so from here and it’s the worst tattoo I’ve ever gotten. I did not know. I was allergic to red ink and they did not do a test patch. I can still see the outline on part of it and it healed terribly. After all these years, it finally stopped itching and the puffiness is gone down so it just looks really bad now.

Kevin is the best! He listens to what you want, gives advice and is amazingly talented. Highly recommend this place. Great people, great environment and great work.

The shop is very clean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. PJ did my cover up tattoo on my ankle, he is very professional, took the time to design my tattoo making sure the colors I wanted were spot on. I appreciate that he had patience with me, taking short breaks because I couldnt handle the pain ( cry baby 😆).I will always recommend and go back for further work.

Kevin has done two of my tattoos so far. Absolutely love his work. He did my first tattoo back in September and explained the whole process as it was going along. This was my first tattoo and I couldn’t have been happier. My tattoo turned out amazing! I will definitely come back! Great Service and atmosphere. Shout out to Dusty he did an amazing job! I trust him with my life :)

I never went into the shop because when I called for a consultation the man on the phone was so dismissive and rude. At first I thought he was busy or having an overwhelming day, but his tone and treatment of me on the phone didnt change at all throughout the course of our conversation. I wanted to make an appointment for a simple fox tattoo. He told me I would have to wait 6 weeks to get in and that my tattoo would cost $600. He didnt even state his name, he just picked up and said 13 roses, what? I called a different studio and went with them instead. They got me in right away and because my tattoo took less than 2 hours, he charged me right around $200 for my body art. Sometimes it seems the artists in a place become arrogant and think that their work is somehow worth 3x as much as another studio. Posting a picture of the work I got done at Heartland Tattoo. The fox is on my forearm and theres no earthly reason why this should cost ANYONE $600.

Kali was great for a handful of piercings for my wife and I. Everything was super clean, easy, and comfortable. Kali was an absolute gem for my first piercings. We will definitely be back when I need more holes poked professionally.

After years of waiting/debating on a lip piercing, I finally did it as a birthday gift to myself. I got a labret lip piercing by Kali! The front desk staff were sweet and welcoming. Kali was super nice, knowledgeable, and patient! She answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable. She made sure I was happy with the placement of where the piercing would go before poking it. I really appreciated how clean the piercing room and entire studio was. ✨ Aftercare instructions were straightforward, and my lip piercing is healing so well. Ive had lots of compliments too, and Im really happy with my lip piercing. 😊 I will be back for other piercings and recommend friends and family to go here too!

Was honestly nervous as this was my first ever tattoo and it was a whole new experience. Kam made sure I was doing okay consistently and helped me. Couldn’t have asked for a better first time.

I got my tattoo done here recently by Patrick and initially the experience was pleasant. Because I’m fairly new to exploring tattoos, I requested a small cross on my wrist. My initial image was too wide so he updated the image but had an issue with me noticing the placement was off once the stencil was applied and told me “no it’s not off”. It was evident he was irritable and when I thought the image was decent he said “okay we’re getting started no more changes”.Long story short this was not the most pleasant experience for me as a first time customer and although I did tip out of generosity, I will be getting this tattoo removed.

I recently got my Koi sleeve completed by Matt, the owner. Man, I could not be happier with my tattoo and with Matt. Matt is truly a master of his craft. He is one of those guys that can hear your story and take a look at a drawing and he knows exactly where to place it in order for the tattoo to look well-balanced and “cool”. For my style of tattoo, I not only needed an artist that’s good with lining and shading but also good at drawing as well. Lucky for me, I found all those 3 qualities in Matt. I was recommended by a friend to go there for my third piercing and a cartilage piercing because Ive been wanting to do it for a while. My sister and I went there and had the most amazing experience ever! Sam was amazing! She explained everything in great detail on care and what she was doing and she walked us through the steps that she was going to take to pierce my ears. It barely hurt at all. I will definitely be going back for my next set of piercings. I highly recommend this place and I highly recommend Sam!

If you are looking for micro blading or any aesthetic needs Sage NEEDS to be your go to. I had my eyebrows micro bladed and it could not have been an easier experience. She is so friendly, professional, and a brilliant artist. I appreciated the thorough job she did explaining her process and how to ensure the best healing process possible. While there I also got pierced by Sam who was also fantastic. She took her time to make sure placement was perfect and that I was prepared and comfortable. Her private space is welcoming and just so cute! The studio itself is immaculate and not intimidating whatsoever. Will absolutely be recommending my friends and family to go here!

I love my baboon so much! The entire process was so straight forward and easy! From making an appointment to the requirements of the deposit, to getting the tattoo, to the aftercare. The staff was so helpful, informative and nice. My artist, Dusty, was hilarious and did such a great job. He drew it right on my arm and then was efficient with his time getting done quickly and charging me a fair price. Love this shop so much! I’m a repeat customer of thirteen roses and I won’t go anywhere else. My daughter and I got our noses pierced here and the care, attention to detail and placement by Sam was amazing (this is my third nostril piercing and the difference in care was significant.) My husband and I got coordinating tattoos from Kevin and they healed beautifully. Kevin was so patient with both of us, and especially with my husband who was nervous about his first tattoo. Most recently Rachelle did a beautiful job on a larger tattoo for me - she let me take breaks when I needed them, was communicative and thoughtful when we were choosing colors and really put me at ease. Of course the shop itself is meticulously clean and sanitized and I highly recommend the service and environment at thirteen roses. I cannot wait to go back for my next piece of art!

I saw Kevin the week I made an appt, literally like two days after I made it. He did such an incredible job, I felt comfortable while he worked and he made sure of that. From the time that I reached out through their website, everyone I spoke to was friendly and professional. This is a very brightly lit, clean, and organized shop. They played videos/music that would appeal to a lot of people and at a decent level (unlike other places I have gone that blast their music very loudly),Patrick was friendly and he helped me figure out the best placement for my tattoo. He was very thorough and gave detailed directions for after care. He did such a great job on my tattoo and was as gentle as one can be when tattooing. This was my 1st session of 3 to finish a sleeve with the owner Matt Womack and it was definitely worth the wait. If you want to work with him book half a year in advance. I decided I wanted to hire him as a new artist based on his photos but its always nice when a new artist to me turns out to be a chill guy on top of it. A friend and I wanted matching tattoos to honor another fallen friend. Patrick Shively did an awesome job for us. The tattoo is line-intensive with small details and lettering. Patrick nailed every detail with precision. Super sharp edges, corners and curves. He was cool to chat with while he worked as well. He was hyper-aware of sanitation protocol at all times. The shop is bright, spacious, and clean. Very pleased.

This was my first experience at Thirteen Roses due to Rachelle moving there. I had eight tattoos prior to Rachelle and this was my fifth by her. The difference has been night and day. Rachelle is just the best at what she does and will do all of my future tattoos. I can take an idea in my head and describe it to her and she always creates a design better that I imagined. Same thing with drawings or art I send her...she always exceeds expectations. You can tell she cares and takes pride in her work. She has never rushed through the process or made me feel like I had to make a decision before I was ready. My most recent tattoo took the idea of the hanging heart from The Used album In Love and Death (artwork by Alex Pardee). I really like this image, but wanted to make the tree more prominent (wanted it to look creepy and give the appearance that it was in the middle of nowhere). Rachelle captured it perfectly as usual...the contrast of the red heart against the black tree turned out really cool. Like I said, she is the best and if you make an appointment with her, you will not be disappointed. I was very impressed with the environment at Thirteen Roses...very clean and professional. Front desk/reception employees were super nice and helpful.

Of all the tattoo places Ive been this was by far the best! I had a twenty-year old tattoo that needed updating and a newer tattoo that I had gotten right before Covid that need to be touched up. Patrick was extremely professional. On our consult, he told me what we would do and not do and explained the why. When I came for my appointment, he went over all off it again. The work was wonderful. Both tattoos looked better than when I originally got it.

Had an appointment with Adriana earlier today. She is so sweet and a total professional. I was impressed with being able to email her my ideas and she had everything drawn up and ready for my appointment. She designed a flower tattoo for me and I LOVE it! I had a fantastic experience from beginning to end. I worked with Matt on my 3/4 sleeve and it turned out amazing and exactly as I wanted it! He listened to what I wanted and added in his own twists which made the tattoo even better. We originally had 5 sessions booked for it but he was able to get it done in 3! Overall super happy with how it turned out and the quality of the work. The shop is super clean and everyone there is super nice and laid back. Highly highly recommend!

Patrick was great again!!! Took the time to get exactly what I wanted done. Not only that, he also was accommodating to my son Ian who got his first work done. It was a small tattoo but he walked him through the process. Much thanks to Patrick again!!! He’s my go to guy!

I went somewhere previously for my nose piercing. They gave me no instructions, did not have me sign any paperwork. It got infected, formed a bump was bleeding then it fell out.I let it close up and decided to come here. I was debating whether to go here or not because the price seemed high for a piercing, but it was extremely worth it.Everything was great from start to finish. She let me pick out which nose ring I wanted and gave me ALL instructions and recommendations for it to heal best. Also, the girl who did my piercing was super chill. I bought their saline wound wash and have been using that, so far things have been great and nothing like my experience at the last place!! Very happy and worth the money.

I had a stellar experience with Sam at Thirteen Roses. Ive been wanting to get one of my upper lobes pierced for a long time, and finally decided to get it done. After listening to what I was looking for, Sam helped me find the best aesthetic for placement and I love the result. The shop itself is very clean, creative, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

I had a 5pm appointment with Pj but I had a family emergency a few hours before my appointment. I called to reschedule and they wanted to charge me another hundred dollar deposit. Even though I had no control over the situation.I also lost the original deposit amount because of bad business practices I canceled all my future appointments. I really needed my tattoo fixed especially since Pj left some blowout spots. Will never go back to this place.

This place is great! Nick was my artist and he is great. He texted me prior to my appointment to verify and evaluate what work I wanted done. He also texted me the day of my appointment to let me know he was on the way to the shop. Thats good communication and good business to me. We ended up juggling the design for an hour since it was a cover up tattoo and worked together to come up with a final design. They say two heads are better than one and great minds think alike. He asked several times was I okay and I was comfortable the whole time. He took his time to provide a quality finish. The shop itself was clean with plenty of sanitizing equipment and the other employees were professional too. It was an overall good experience and Ive already bragged to family and friends about the Nick and the shop itself. Thank You again to Nick!

I cannot say enough good things about this company! The space is absolutely gorgeous. I love all of the artwork, open space, and decor. Second, the staff is extremely friendly. You get greeted right when you walk into the door and all of the artists are super cool (and talented!!!) as well. Last but not least.. Matt is amazing!!!! He is definitely the most talented artist I’ve ever seen. You are seriously missing out if you don’t get work done by him. He is creative, honest (about what will and will not look good/ fade well, etc.) and open, which I love. 10/10

I had a great experience here today. I looked for a nearby tattoo shop with good reviews and quality work in their portfolios. Quickly found Thirteen Roses and went there hoping to get a tattoo as a walk-in. To my surprise, the owner of the shop, Matt, was available to tattoo walk-ins. I explained to him what I wanted and showed him some ideas, and then he drew up what I asked for. I was in and out with a beautiful tattoo in probably 90 minutes, super pleasant time being tattooed. I will definitely be a repeat customer and looking forward to getting future artwork done at Thirteen Roses.

I had a great experience with Thirteenth Roses. The customer service was great, from the time I contacted online with my design, to making the appointment in house and getting the tattoo done by Kevin. I also observed how the other customers in the shop were treated and they also received great service. I would highly recommend them and I plan on trying other services they provide.

The shop overall was very clean and comfortably laid out. My tattoo artist, Adriana, took great care in ensuring I was comfortable throughout the process and that I completely loved my tattoo. I just came to 13 roses for the first time. I will 100% be coming back for future services. As soon as you walk in your greeted with bright wh clean opening space and crazy good artwork. The team up front was great as well. They got me all signed up and ready to go quick as could be. Then came Sam, our piercer. Sam not only took her time to make sure I was 100% comfortable she also talked me through everything from start to finish! Lets not forget the squishies she offered up for me to hold! She went through every detail and I couldnt appreciate her more for it! Dont even question coming here, its a win!

I came into the shop and was blown away. Super clean, bright, and friendly. Asked for Adriana on a recommendation and was not disappointed. She gave me a wonderful and original portrait of my pet that I get so many compliments on! Everyone has asked me where I went and I can’t recommend this place enough. I saw quite a few killer pieces headed out the door while I sat with Adriana. All different colors and styles, too. I noticed 3/4 clients I saw had followed the artist to this shop. If that doesn’t convince you of the quality of work you’re gonna get, I don’t know what will. Stop on by, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Had a great experience here! A friend and I walked in one night after confirming they had a piercer available. Sam pierced a daith and an orbital with great professionalism and care. Our piercings are healing well and we love them, would definitely return!

Weeks ago, went through the simple process: phone call, emails with sketch, artist accepted, appointment scheduled, dropped off deposit.Went in tonight, met the artist Kevin, he took me through the steps and brought my birthday tat to life. He was smooth, steady, and meticulous with his work. He absolutely nailed the piece and I got 100% of what I envisioned. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I had an amazing experience at this shop. Matthew worked with me to create an incredible piece that came out much better than I could ever have imagined. The shop itself is clean and modern. Sam was the sweetest! She pierced my ears for me after I tried gauging them a few years back and they had torn. She told me how to repair the the tears (by a professional). I got some old tattoos touched up and fixed by Adriana. She was ready to go as soon as I got there. She was so easy to talk to and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Great new place. Very clean and friendly people. Came on a Saturday. As a walk in from out of state, they were very accommodating . Matt, the owner was very easy to talk to and did a great work on both me and my husband. We were both very happy with the finished art. If in the area again would definitely come back.

Got a tattoo from one of their artists, Dusty. The tattoo itself is fantastic and looks amazing - however the booking process and the demeanor of this artist was not. I booked an appointment via phone/email as instructed by their front desk person and put down a deposit only to receive a phone call from our artist a few days later that was very curt about how I did everything ‘wrong’ with my booking. We followed every one of his instructions given via phone to ‘fix’ how the appointment was booked (and I even offered to be deadnamed for the process to make it easier on him) only to show up to the appointment with nothing ready. He claimed he couldn’t find any of the emails (that he replied to) and had nothing drawn or ready. When we were finally ready to get started he made a derogatory comment to me about my girlfriend who was with me waiting to get tattooed. Dusty’s demeanor was so off putting/rude that my partner chose to leave without getting her planned tattoo because of how she was spoken to about her desired design/the booking process.Overall the shop was incredibly clean, the front desk staff were friendly, but the experience was completely ruined.

I love this shop and mostly the people that work there. I’ve been a loyal client of Matt Womack since 2013 and I won’t go to any one else. He’s not only a GREAT human being and tattooist, but a phenomenal overall artist in general. And so are all his coworkers. As someone apprehensively looking for his first tattoos, comfort and trust were very important in my selection of a tattoo studio. Going off a glowing recommendation from a family member, I emailed Thirteen Roses to inquire about process and scheduling. I immediately received a response asking for details about what I would like on my tattoos, which I provided since I was looking for a couple of very simple things, and they said one of their artists would contact me. After about two weeks of no contact, I sent a follow-up message and received the same response - that one of their artists would be reaching out. Fast forward to months later, and I was never contacted by any of their artists. Im not sure if I was simply forgotten or was ignored/passed over due to the simplicity of my request, but given how sensitive this topic is for me as a first-timer who is anxious about the whole process of getting a tattoo, either way it was pretty hurtful to feel as if I was being blown off. Needless to say, if I do end up getting my tattoos, it will not be at Thirteen Roses.

Went in to pierce both my ear lobes, Sam was delightful and professional. I was in and out in under 20 minutes, with little to no pain during the piercing itself.

I love coming here for tattoos. All of the artists are professional and super polite. Adriana has done some amazing work on me and is always a huge sweetheart.
