I hope youre having fun getting wasted at your music festival with the money that you rip off from people * What was supposed to be a special and elevated experience has turned into a constant reminder that someone would rather make a quick buck than actually care about me!I went to Keron for a wedding band ring tattoo and a seed of life mandala. When I reached out I stated that I understood if he didnt want to do the ring (I know not all artists work on hands). He seemed perfectly comfortable and eager. I wanted someone who was excited about doing the ring as its a symbol of the commitment I made to my husband. He showed up an hour late. They had printer issues that took another hour. He finally took out his laptop and decided he was going to design the tattoo I had already sent a deposit for. He wasted time both his and mine. He treated me and my tattoos like it was the last thing he wanted to be doing. If you didnt want to tattoo me you should have rescheduled! He didnt finish the tattoo and he proceeded to tattoo a thick wedding band after asking me if I wanted it thinner and me confirming I did want it thinner. The lines are terrible and its not even completely filled in. Im going to be spending hundreds getting this fixed. Keron has my information and needs to make this right. This has had a huge negative impact on not only my self esteem but my mental health. Im constantly reminded that someone took their personal problems out on my body! I was mortified to see he was tattooing someone days after doing this to me. Seek help.

I had an amazing experience at Cardinal. Maddies expertise and attention to detail really stood out. She listened carefully to my ideas and turned them into a beautiful piece of art. The atmosphere in the shop was welcoming and professional, making me feel relaxed throughout the process. Karissa did amazing work on my first ever tattoo! Prior to our session she spent plenty of time going over what I should expect during our session, she would check in with me during the session to make sure I was okay and went over after care. Since it was my first tattoo I had no idea what to expect after. She gave me both verbal and written instructions on the healing process, how to clean and wrap the tattoo and made sure to be available when I forgot everything she said. I love the piece! She captured exactly what I asked for

Go see Maddie! Shes done two different tattoos for me, one color and one black and white. I had never been tattooed before and she worked with me to get exactly what I wanted. She also made me feel very comfortable and prepared for my tattoo. She provided great post care instructions too.

Maddie has done 3 of my tattoos, 2 of which are on the larger/more detailed side. She has a great manner and always made sure I was comfortable. And she does amazing art! I recommend her to anyone local.

Maddie Meadows was absolutely amazing! She was very thorough at explaining the process, this isn’t my first tattoo but this definitely helped remind me everything to do. She is amazing at coloring and really takes her time to do a great job! Her personality is great and she gives you honest advice on what would be good. She was also able to get me in for my tattoo pretty soon. This tattoo meant a lot to me and she did a great job. I highly recommend her and can’t wait to get another one from her!

This place is everything you’d want in a body art shop. I’ve had a tattoo done by Keron which turned out beautifully and still looks like new 5 years later. When my daughter began begging for her ears to be pierced I knew I would not take her anywhere else. Our piercer John spent so much extra time making sure she was happy and comfortable throughout the entire experience. Her ear jewelry could not be more symmetrical! She was so happy with the results she professed her love for him😂. I was impressed by his cleanliness, attention to detail, and knack for working with older kids.On a whim I decided to get my nose pierced. He did equally well on mine. It was exactly what I asked for.Unfortunately, because of my health issues my body began rejecting the piercing. I was crushed because of all the piercings I’ve had this was my favorite! I called John and he spoke with me on numerous occasions, he saw me inshop on his day off and spent an insane amount of time conversing with colleagues, researching and then custom designing different jewelry options to give my piercing the best chance at success. He did all of this at his own expense because he genuinely cared. I cannot say enough good things about the cardinal. But I am beyond happy with and grateful to the whole crew for their kindness, attention to detail and amazing client- centered work! Y’all rock!

Ive had three tattoos here and each experience has been amazing. The whole process, from consultation, to booking, to actually getting the tattoo is incredibly professional and welcoming. It sounds cheesy as heck but they really make you feel at home here. My husband and I both go here and love the whole staff so much. They fact that they are a 2 minute drive from my house is also a huge plus 😜

Outstanding atmosphere, location, and employees. I had the chance to get a tattoo done by one of their apprentices Eh Wei and he exceeded my expectations in all aspects. He was extremely patient, detailed, and considerate when it came to the design process and the tattoo itself. They take tattoo healing and sanitary processes very seriously to make sure your piece comes out perfect and I will definitely be recommending friends and family.

I chose this shop because of the reviews and artwork I saw from artists on instagram. I emailed a picture of what I wanted and was assigned an artist. The artist was kind and friendly and from a bedside manner, the experience was positive. The shop was also also clean and nice. However my artist was inexperienced, after working on my tattoo for two hours ( it was only 3ish inches) I was told I’d need need to come back when it healed. My tattoo is very overworked and I have alot of skin trauma. It bled ink for 5 days, there are line blow outs, scabs and already looks aged due to severe fading. I will have to let my skin heal for a long time and then definitely get it fixed elsewhere, which is also costly, as this 3 inch tattoo was $200. So, my suggestion is, even if the shop has a good rep and good artists- don’t assume all artists are experienced. Even though my artist was friendly and kind, they definitely did not have the experience necessary for my tattoo and I’m still dealing w the pain and repercussions of it. And I will end up having to pay for it to be fixed and end up paying a significant amount on a small piece. So, don’t be like me- even in a reputable shop, make sure you vet your artist to ensure they have the experience necessary to give you a beautiful piece and not cause your skin unnecessary trauma.

Had such a amazing experience getting a dinosaur tattoo part of Karissas flash. She did such a amazing job. Cant wait to go back to get another tattoo by Karissa.

This was my 12th time being tattooed. But my first time sitting for a female tattoo artist. The simple four band tattoo was actually more technical than I imaged. Karissa Cline did an awesome job. Im very happy with how the tattoo turned out.Im new to this area. I reached out to a couple other shops in Burlington and Mebane. But honestly didnt like the artist or shop vibe. The staff at Cardinal is really friendly and welcoming. I appreciated Karissa taking the time to talk to me about what I wanted. I will definitely return to Karissa for more tattoo work.

Fantastic all-around experience, from Kieran’s warm and hospitable consultation to the actual session with Josh a month later. My wife and I both wanted small, minimalist nature-inspired tattoos and Josh truly delivered! He helped in the design process and drew us gorgeous lines that we are so happy with. His sense of humor and lightheartedness is refreshing! The environment of the studio was also very inviting and clean. We both thank you for our beautiful skin art!

I’ve gotten two tattoos here so far. Both have been a great experience. Josh is an awesome artist and goes above and beyond. I can always trust him for an amazing tattoo. Everyone here is so nice and friendly and really makes it feel like you’re at home. I was very pleased with the work I got done. Jay really did a great job. I just gave an idea of what I wanted and he designed something better than I had pictured ! He did a great job explaining everything he was doing and why he was doing it. I actually gave one design for a different area of my body when I made the appointment and changed my mind sent him the idea of what I wanted and where I wanted it and he was willing to make that change and design my tattoo and I felt that he never held that against me. My husband also got work done there by an artist who is no longer there but he was very pleased. I would definitely recommend them. You might have to wait a while to get an appointment but that tells you how great they are and its worth the wait!

So far this place is great! I havent gotten my tattoo yet, but I just had a consultation with Keron and he was wonderful and easy to talk to. He answered all of my questions and asked me a lot of questions about details that I never even thought of. You can tell that he truly cares about the people he tattoos as well as the art. I was thrilled with the tattoo I got from Keron. He was professional and friendly, fair with pricing, and offered great advice as far as scale, placement, and font choice. Also, Dad jokes. Got a awesome piece done from Keron he was very kind just like everyone who I met there. The atmosphere is very calming and they have the most top notch tattoo gear. I cant stress about how calming the atmosphere was, I have anxiety and having low lofty beat box and being surround by beautiful art work was very soothing. I went in on a Sunday afternoon looking for advice and pricing on something I wanted done on my wrist. Rosemary took one look at it and helped me get it just right where I wanted it. Then told me that I could get it done right then! I was so happy, the tattoo came out perfect and I couldnt be happier with it. They used machines that are so well tuned that I barely felt anything. It was like having someone draw on me with a sharpie. I cant recommend this place enough! My brother who has a full sleeve tattoo from another shop said that it was so nice in there he is going to be coming there as well from now on. This place deserves every accolade it gets and the people there are beyond friendly and welcoming. I loved the entire experience.

Keron did an amazing tattoo for me of a lotus flower on my hand. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the work and he did it for a great price. All artists at the studio are extremely talented and the atmosphere is fantastic. Unlike many studios in the area, the artists here take the time to get to know you, talk to you about your piece, and take your feedback honestly. They value customer service as much as great art. Id highly recommend this studio whether its your first tattoo or 1000th hour!!

This was my go to for the last several years. I have referred friends and family who drive from around the state to give them their business, including myself driving from Boone. However the client experience has become very poor. I too am in the business of how you treat your clients will determine their return, without a consistent retention of clients your business will not grow. When you get too big for your britches, you will begin turn over of clients. The product from Jay Rock is excellent, the miscommunication and then the belittling of the client from the owner is unacceptable. When you have clients willing to wait months for an appt with the chosen artist and willing to fork out $500 to $700 and more each visit, you show a little more respect and take some accountability. The over 30 clients I have referred in the past 2 years agree that their business deserves better.

My husband and I visited The Cardinal Skin Art & Gallery today on a whim to get our first tattoos. We could not have selected a better shop. Clean, kind, and professional - we left with exactly what we wanted and thoroughly informed how to make sure the art stands the test of time. I am so thankful for the welcoming vibe of the shop and we’re both super excited to set appointments to come here for future pieces! Run, don’t walk to this establishment. You will not be disappointed!

I don’t know if I have words to describe how great these guys are! The moment you walking into the studio, you feel welcome. A lot of other shops I’ve been to, I’ve felt awkward and out of place, or that I wasn’t wanted there. Celeste is always a smiling face and willing to help however she can. Keron was my artist and he was easy to talk to and so incredibly talented! One of the other artists, Josh, came over between jobs and chatted with us. They are very passionate about what they do and very knowledgeable about the science behind tattooing. There are so many other things I could say about them but I encourage you to just go and meet them. You won’t be disappointed! I will never go anywhere else.

These folks are the best! Theyve created such a welcoming space and are clearly very passionate about all forms of art and expression. Keron is an excellent giver-of-tattoos and a uniquely gifted artist. His finished work speaks for itself, but his thoughtful approach and deep understanding of the process indicates a certain commitment to his craft that is a rarity in any trade. I dont have any of Rosemarys work yet, but I know it is also top notch and seems to compliment Kerons approach nicely. Celeste is also a wonderful person and if she starts tattooing Id go back to get one from her as well. The three of them are an awesome team, and the energy that theyve created at The Cardinal will inspire you. Go pay them a visit, you wont regret it!

Update:Came in for my appointment today. Everyone in the shop was incredibly nice and pleasant to be around. Celeste went out of her way to bring me a few water bottles and check in on me periodically. I think she remembered it was my first tattoo, and wanted to make sure a newbie had the best experience possible.Keron was AMAZING to work with. He figured out quickly how curious I was about the process, especially with this being my first time. He explained each step as he went, making sure I was comfortable and not anxious about the tattoo process. On top of a fantastic bedside manor, he did incredible work. His line work was unbelievably fast and crisp. The shading is flawless. I cant wait for this to heal up so I can show it off!I will definitely be back when I decide on my next piece!Original post:Came in for a consultation with Keron tonight. From the temperature to the decor of the room, the atmosphere at The Cardinal was extremely comfortable. Over two consecutive days I had 12 hours of ink time with Keron and felt cared for the whole time. I believe that to be essential to the experience of being tattooed, especially when it comes to such intense, long sessions. I was frequently checked in on and asked if I needed anything, but I wanted for nothing anyway. My tattoo was based on a design from a movie and I was able to watch it on a TV mounted in front of the tattoo station, which was an amazing perk (and a great distraction from the needle!)The inside of The Cardinal is laid out as an almost open-floor concept, with the desk/waiting area being separated (but not walled off) from the tattooing area. The size of the space and the way it was decorated gave it a really cool warehouse-y feel to me, and Im looking forward to returning to see the space again. Its a nice escape from the rest of the world.All of this is to say nothing of the art itself - My expectations were high but they were exceeded tenfold. I had reached out to Keron about a design he had made and posted on social media, and he tailored it to my specifications/body placement/etc. - we were both really happy with the result. I left feeling extremely satisfied, particularly with the aftercare instructions, which are detailed and informative. Ive begun exploring other artists portfolios there and look forward to booking some time with one or more of them in the future. Id recommend this to anyone!

Very glad to say this was the place of choice for my first tattoo, because it came out AWESOME! Rosemary did an amazing job on my back piece and was simply fun to talk to while it was all getting done.The atmosphere in the shop is so welcoming and friendly, and is certainly going to be my first thought when I think about getting future tattoos.

Best shop Ive been to by far, and Ive been to a lot. Every artist here has crazy talent. Jayrock did my latest masterpiece and killed it as usual. This place is like a tattoo spa. The staff really takes care of you, makes sure youre comfortable, offers you free drinks, snacks, etc. Make sure to tip your artists..... they deserve it, especially here!

Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had in any business. The owner and other staff are beautiful people doing beautiful work.My new tattoo is an absolute masterpiece. I can’t stop looking at it and I smile every time I see it. I had a lot of work done in one appointment, but due to the equipment and techniques used, the pain was quite bearable and the healing is going very nicely.My aftercare instructions were very clear and easy to follow. The aftercare products that they sell are top shelf. After like 9 hours of needle time, i expected a long and frankly gross recovery. That hasn’t been the case at all. It’s only been about 28 hours, and there’s almost no swelling or redness left and no scabbing either. I’m following Keron’s instructions and It looks healthy and awesome!Thank you so much Keron! You’ve changed my life.Anybody who may be sitting on the fence about visiting The Cardinal, please do yourself a favor and contact them right now. They’re the cleanest, most modern, and kindest shop anywhere. It’s worth traveling any distance for.

Great service and amazing art. Keron tattooed both me and my husband and we are incredibly happy with our tattoos. Super quiet machine with a light touch, Keron did everything possible to make me, someone who can get pretty anxious, incredibly comfortable. Amazing artists! Today I had a beautiful piece done by Vincent. The flower piece he designed for me is AMAZING. The flowers look so realistic! The shop is clean and the people that own it care about their clients. They take the time to explain tattoo aftercare and techniques. If you want QUALITY work done go here!

I have 7 tattoos now and have gone to a total of 6 different shops across the USA. Ive never been one to get a tattoo from the same place/Artist due to getting tattoos typically on vacations, but this place has changed that for me. Ill break it down for everyone;Customer service/friendliness- Amazing. The little things really added up here. I called 8 minutes prior to their opening time and Vincent answered. The tone of his voice, relaxed demeanor, and the down to earth conversation made me feel welcomed even before entering the shop. They have an amazing lounge area if you have to wait (me and my family wanted last minute tattoos). Best part, they had baby toys for my 10 month old to play with. At no point did I feel as though any artist were annoyed by our presence in the shop.Cleanliness- This place is spotless. The sanitation procedures they follow before and after each tattoo is nothing that Ive seen before. Im in law enforcement, so through various encounters Ive seen different hospitals, and this place is literally cleaner than any hospital room I have ever seen before.Consultation- I did not have an exact picture of what I wanted. Instead, I had two different pictures that I wanted incorporated into one. Keron used a sweet computer system to create a concept for me to review. The size, color, and overall concept was amazing. More importantly, I felt as though I was being heard on what I wanted in the tattoo.The tattoo- incredible. The line work done by Keron was exactly what I was looking for. My wife and mother got their tattoos done by Rosemary. Both of them were amazing. Actually watching Rosemary work was insightful as well. She was methodical about each detail and the shading of the tattoos. My mothers boyfriend, Mike, got his tattoo from Vincent. The effects of layering he was able to achieve without actually going over the same spot was jaw dropping. The end result was a tattoo that had flawless transitions from a background giving it an amazing depth illusion.I have made it a habit to see various artist around the USA, but I have found a shop that feel like a home away from home.

I have two pieces on me by Keron and I love them both. His approach was more like painting than a traditional outline and fill tattoo. The end result was a beautiful work of art that is even better than I expected. It has been about two weeks since my last one and it is healing nicely with no thick scarring or deep scabbing. He has a relatively light hand and really cares about the quality of the work. Also, while I was there I saw Gunner put a portait on someone that looked just like the photograph. The studio is nice and clean too. I will definitely return here for my next one. Keep up the good work!

The Cardinal is amazing, and Rosemary is the best!I came in with a vague concept, and Rosemary listened to what I wanted and created a design that was better than what I had imagined. I was able to get an appointment quickly, and she did a fantastic job with the tattoo.The shop has a funky, welcoming vibe - everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home, and we had a lot of fun hanging out and chatting with Keron, Rosemary, and the other customers (Rosemary inked my wife and me in successive appointments, so we were there for 4-5 hours).After the holidays Ill be taking another concept back to Rosemary and Keron, I cant wait to see what they do with it!

Got my nose pierced here in early March. Staff was SUPER cool, very professional. I was taken back at exactly my appointment time. My piercer did a great job explaining the procedure and in a blink I was done! My SO emailed Keron a few tattoo ideas and he’s scheduled to go back in May to get it done! Love having this level of talent in Mebane!

Keron did my nose piercing and made me feel very at ease (Charlie the dragon helped). Working with him on my next tattoo and its so nice to be working with someone that sees my vision. After visiting several other tattoo shops in the area that didnt give me the best of feelings I went into Cardinal Skin Art and met with Keron and Celeste. What a welcoming and professional atmosphere. With it being my first tattoo I didnt know what to expect but I showed Keron what I wanted and how I wanted it to look and he did not disappoint. Every step of the way I felt comfortable. It turned out better than I could have asked for and I will for sure return for my next one.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Keron did the best skin art Ive ever had done! He even made an 11 year old tattoo Ive never been satisfied with look amazing. I just got my first tattoo from the cardinal this evening and couldnt be happier. Keron was professional, light handed and talented. I wanted a hummingbird over my chest in honor of my mother, Keron did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and at ease. It was done with the best supplies Ive experienced, because of this, it was the least painful tattoo Ive gotten. It came out better than Id imagined. Definitely going back Im over the moon

I absolutely loved this studio. I have been to different studios around Alamance county and I have never had as good of experience as I had at the Cardinal. Keron did a magnificent job on my tattoo and I absolutely love it. I do believe that this is my only stop for tattoos from here on out.

I had gotten a lot of tats before i started coming around here but now its my choice location for body art. tattoo artists’ skill with their craft is most important; and this factor is definitely taken care of by their tattoo artists. and to make it even better, the energy/ environment of the studio is so awesome and positive. ive been to a lot of tattoo artists that are grumpy and truly dont care about their clients. but for what its worth, these people raise the bar for having an excellent environment in a tattoo shop. BRAVO!

My very first tattoo was done by Vincent and let me tell you his detail work is beyond amazing, I’m obsessed with my tat and there is many more to come. The atmosphere is amazing, everyone is so nice and they explained everything very well. I highly recommend this place.

Keron was more than professional with talking through the options in covering up my old tattoo, creating that tattoo, and then bringing it to life. Absolutely hands down the best experience Ive had with an artist. Theres noone else Id trust more to cover up an old tattoo of mine. And if youre just looking to get a sick tattoo he does that even better. Theres not enough kind words to do this mans work justice. Go in and experience this true artist for yourself.

Definitely a place I recommend to go to. I got my ears pierced and everything was done professionally easy and quick. I love the vibe and everyone’s personality who works there.

I cant remember her name but the girl with dyed hair was so rude to my friends and I and completely ignored what we were trying to ask her for. She walked away in the middle of us talking and I could hear her talk bad about us to somebody in the back
