My husband and I got tattoos that fit together when we hold hands done by Carol. She’s amazingly talented! She freehanded her design on us with sharpies and made she we liked it multiple times before doing any tattooing. Her freehanded colorful work is beautiful art in itself! We love our tattoos and how perfectly they go together.We got to hang out with her and another artist, Matt, all day. They are both incredibly friendly and welcoming. Sometimes when you go to a shop, whoever isn’t working with you acts like you’re invisible, but not here. It was like hanging out with friends. They made sure we were comfortable, checked in if we wanted to watch something or have anything to eat/drink. We got to play on their PlayStation and watch a show while we took turns getting tattooed. The shop is super clean, the artists take great care to sanitize, and the space is beautifully decorated. Definitely recommend!

Phenomenal shop, very clean and welcoming shop, and very friendly staff. I have been tattooed upwards of ten times by Dave, and he does phenomenal work. (See attached pictures.) they have also had multiple tattoo adjacent events as well as a fundraiser, rave reviews for it all. They also have an excellent water cooler.

The artists are super friendly and the shop was very clean. I would recommend anyone looking for a tattoo to check out their work. They are all very talented.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place! I was recently there for Carols free hand floral event, and although it was super busy I didnt feel rushed through my tattoo and it was really personalized. The overall atmosphere of the place is great and makes you feel really at home and it honestly feels like a hang out with friends even if its your first time there.

Extremely clean with impeccable attention to detail! Carol was meticulous, taking her time to ensure that my wife and I felt completely at ease throughout our session. The experience was fantastic, and the quality of work was outstanding. Highly recommend!!

The most WELCOMING tattoo shop ever. Most tattoo shops I’ve come across will try to convince you to get a different size, shading, placement of your tattoo. However, I’ve gone to Carol Jacky for all of my tattoos for years now and I love the environment she created at Iron Pine. She’s conveniently located and will work with you with whatever you need. She will always make sure you’re comfortable with everything about the tattoo and during as well. If i could give her over 5 starts I would 🩷

Shawn, Carol, and Dave are all extremely amazing and talented artists! I’ve had multiple tattoos done by Shawn. He is understanding and very easy to work with, if there’s something you don’t like in the design he will change it up for you with a huge smile on his face. I’ve received so many compliments on his tattoos and people always ask me where I get my work done. The shop space is very welcoming, always smells so clean and has a relaxed vibe anytime I’ve been there. The whole team makes you feel extremely comfortable and at home! I had a tattoo (first time) of my dog completed by Carol, and it came out better than I could ever have expected. On the day of, I had asked for some minor tweaks and Carol made the adjustments quickly while maintaining the same level of quality, she was incredibly accommodating. For a permanent job like this, I would absolutely recommend this establishment! Everything was sanitary and professional.

Such a great atmosphere, clean, everything is open and bright, as well as everyone just being super friendly and nice! Highly recommend, they have such amazing and talented artists with a wide variety of art styles! I got tattooed by Carol and I’ve gone to her for years. She never disappoints, as well as always make sure you’re feeling okay during the whole process! Highly recommend!

Great shop that is very welcoming. Often times walking into a new show is very intimidating but not Iron & Pine. You are immediately greeted by a member of the team that is eager to help.Shawn has been working on a large piece for me and has done several pieces for me over the years. He even did my 65 year old mom’s first tattoo! He is very patient and great to work with.While I haven’t been tattooed by Carol, Dave or Matt yet, they are extremely talented and their portfolios speak for themselves.If you are in the Metuchen area(or able to hop on the NJ Transit into Metuchen), this is the spot to get tattooed in Middlesex county!

I received several gift cards for this shop for christmas, but after finding out my go-to artist was no longer there, i was not able to receive a refund on these gift cards despite only going to iron and pine for that specific artist. the shop referred to a tiny “no refunds on gift cards” sign in their shop though it is not clearly displayed on their website, which is where my friends purchased the gift cards for me. the discrepancy in signage between their website and their in person shop is misleading especially considering that gift cards wouldn’t necessarily be purchased by someone in person, or by someone who has been to the shop in person previously. i happily commuted an hour and a half to this shop but there is no reason for me to go now that my usual artist is no longer there. Be very careful if you do.

Nicole was awesome! She gave my boyfriend and I two tattoos and made every effort to make us completely comfortable and happy. I had to back out of the color portion of mine and she was so nice and didn’t try to pressure me into finishing. We will definitely be coming back!

I had a great experience at Iron & Pine Tattoo Co. Carol did a beautiful memorial piece for me that is now my favorite tattoo. The way shes able to draw it right on to you and make it fit perfectly was so cool to watch! She is an amazing artist and just an awesome person to talk with (and Taylor too). If youre looking for a spot with laid back vibes in a grogeous space with art and plants everywhere and super talented artists you definitely should check them out!

Absolutely an amazing experience. The shop is so welcoming and inviting, and theres something just so chill about walking in and seeing all the plants and art. It didnt feel intimidating or overwhelming, just comfortable with the best vibes. Nicole (tattoosbydogface) was incredible. She completely understood the vision I had for my pieces and did great (and fast!) work. Had great conversations with Nicole and Taylor while getting tattooed and I left feeling like I had really found a place Ill come back to again and again.

I loved every minute of the time I spent in this tattoo shop. The people are top notch and the vibes are immaculate. I love the decor and the number of well-maintained houseplants that adorn the walls and windows. They considered every single detail when putting this tattoo shop together, including comfortable seating that can accommodate larger humans. The bathroom even has menstrual products! Carol, one of the owners, ordered pizza and garlic knots for everyone, which really made the experience outstanding and helped me sit better for my 4 hour session.Nicole (tattoosbydogface) finished a tattoo that had been started by someone who turned out to be a bad and abusive person. Nicole was so kind and considerate during my session, making sure I was comfortable and letting me take breaks when I needed to. The conversation flowed and my session went by so quickly! Their work is outstanding and I am already planning out my next tattoos with them.This shop is truly a gem. Every person I interacted with was so passionate about their craft and super talented. I definitely would recommend this shop and will be back soon!

I’ve been to a few different tattoo spots, but this one is hands down the place I will be going back for all future tattoos. The environment is warm and inviting, and the staff were all so friendly and charismatic. Communication was INCREDIBLE in terms of finding an appointment and I can’t even begin to appropriately describe how amazing Carol was with the actual artwork. I described what I wanted and gave a few reference photos, and in a short time she designed EXACTLY what I was looking for! If you’ve ever felt intimidated about going into a tattoo shop or anxious about the process, I promise this is the place to go ❤️

I got two tattoos done at Iron and Pine with Nicole and Carol, both of which are done just how i wanted and came out awesome. I get so many compliments on the tattoo and how clean they turn out. It is so welcoming and everyone there is so nice and just make the experience a little better. I recommend this place to anyone even considering a tattoo or mention the idea.

If I could give 10 stars, I definitely would! Aside from the top notch work from Nicole, there are so many other positives to my experience. Atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming and shop’s interior was beautiful. The shop is also incredibly clean which is important when it comes to tattoo parlors. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend as a safe and customer oriented tattoo shop.

Amazing experience getting a half sleeve done by Carol. The shop is clean and welcoming. All the staff are friendly and we had some nice conversation & music to pass the time. I could not be more impressed by the quality of Carols work - I gave her creative license with the flowers and really cannot put into words how much I love the result & how everything came together. Will definitely be recommending the shop to friends who are looking for new ink.

Nicole does a truly fabulous job. I wanted a rainbow narwhal and Nicole designed and executed it flawlessly. Nicoles creative approach exceeded my expectations by adding even more color variation than I initially envisioned. The session went by quickly due to Nicoles friendly conversation and fast hand while maintaining exemplary attention to detail. Iron & Pine in general creates a positive and inclusive atmosphere for a comfortable session. I obtained tattoos previously from other shops and I hope to go back to Iron & Pine and Nicole for all future body ink.

I had a wonderful experience at Iron and Pine! The shop itself is clean and cozy, making for a welcoming atmosphere. Every detail (down to the bathroom) is curated and given the utmost care. The artists are all very friendly. My tattoo was done by Carol Jacky. It came out so beautifully! I am beyond happy with the finished tattoo. It exceeds all expectations. Carol walked me through different options for shading, placement, and overall design. She also took the time to freehand draw parts of the tattoo so they would fit my body perfectly. The time and care she took were so appreciated. Excellent service and personal attention to detail. I can’t say enough good things about my experience from initial email, to consultation, to finished product. Highly recommend this shop!

I got my first tattoo at Iron and Pine during their flash tattoo sale this past July! I got tattooed by Nicole (tattoosbydogface on IG!) and it was seriously the best experience ever!!! (although I picked my design from their pre-drawn board- I would seriously recommend using Nicole because their style and designs are so freaking cool) Nicole was so patient and kind to me, explaining each step and making sure I felt comfortable throughout the process. The shop is stunning, in addition to it being super clean and organized- the general ambiance/vibe of the store is unlike any other tattoo shop I have seen. Every artist has their own space to decorate with their aesthetic/taste which really adds a layer of complexity and character to the shop- and just the general tattooing experience. (side note- they have the most gorgeous plants- as a houseplant junkie I was absolutely stunned) 10000/10 I would definitely recommend and I will 100% be going back.

Literally the nicest tattoo artists Ive ever met, in addition to doing impeccable work. My husband and I went in spontaneously as walk ins on a Saturday night and they accommodated us, which we really didnt expect, but were super happy about. The shop is so welcoming and warm, too. We will definitely be back!

Everyone in the shop is extremely welcoming and kind, which unfortunately I feel like is a rarity when it comes to tattoo shops. A clean, homey, and comfortable shop with talented artists. This is my second time being tattooed by Carol (the GOAT) and the first at their new shop Iron & Pine. The artists are patient and accommodating at your appointment, the apprentice Taylor is the sweetest thing, and the overall vibe leaves nothing to be desired. It’s like sitting in a cozy living room where there’s art and plants and statement pieces to look at, except you’re getting stabbed.

I am so glad I waited for David to my sons portrait tattoo. He is amazing and it is absolutely incredible. I would never go anyplace else. Everyone there is so professional. David went well beyond my expectations. I would put him as one of the best artists I’ve meant.

I had the pleasure of working with Sean on a tattoo idea that I didn’t know where to place. He took his time, was honest about what looked odd and what didn’t, and we ended up changing tattoo locations in the end. His fine detail on a simple tattoo was perfect, he added things that I didn’t even know would be relevant details, and it’s turned out better than any of the examples I showed him. Nice cozy place, smells great and homey, good vibes, and welcoming energy.

I had my first tattoo today, Im 88 years young and wanted my sons name on my ankle he, passed away a year ago, I was very nervous the staff made me so at ease and a kind lady held my hand during the tattoo. So I have quite a few tattoos and I personally love them all, but generally I don’t get compliments on them too often. Nicole did this absolutely gorgeous half sleeve of orange monarch butterflies and almost everyday from start to finish (I did sessions so we worked on it for about 3 months) I have received soooooo much love on this tattoo , people have said they look so realistic as if the butterflies are really on me lol. I’ve had people who tell me they hate tattoos but mine are the most beautiful ones they’ve ever seen. Just today a little girl saw them and told me she used to raise butterflies. Like I’ve made so many connections off of this piece? It’s crazy. I’m just truly amazed by Nicole’s artistry and her ability to bring tattoos to life. Definitely a shop with some extraordinary creatives in it. This is the most beautiful piece on my body and I thank you so so so much for this, I love them and I cant wait to work with her again.

Just got my first tattoo from them. I work at the pizzaria in the same building and been wanting to go for a month or 2 now but haven’t been able too. I’m very happy with the outcome, and the friendly service. Will be returning to get a whole sleeve finished with them for sure. Very painless and professional. Thanks!
