Blue Byrd Tattoo

Jazzlyn is such a wonderful tattoo artist. She is sweet, calming, and a hell of a good artist. She really listens to what you want and gives a great artists rendition of your ideas with her own little flares. It’s amazing. I definitely have never felt more welcomed and safe in a tattoo shop before.

Margo did my first ever tattoo!! I communicated with her over Instagram and she was fast at responding and accommodating a time for my appointment. I sent her a reference photo of what I wanted, and her design ended up being so much better and detailed than the reference I had sent! She was so sweet and very patient with me, she moved the stencil for me a few times to make sure I loved the placement. I have gotten so many compliments on my tattoo and Im in love with it.

Armani was so professional and empathetic. My niece was very anxious, and she was so patient and kind, assuring her nothing would happen without her absolute consent. The studio was very clean and bright. The artists were all very sweet. Beautiful designs by the artists are on display to view. Definitely book an appointment here if youre looking for tattoo or piercing services. Cant wait to visit again!

Alex was very knowledgeable about the piercing itself and sweet! I had mentioned having a sensitivity to needles and he even went the extra mile of making sure I was okay to walk alone without fainting before I left lol. I felt very safe and welcomed and will be returning for any work in the future:)

Absolutely in love with the piece Jazzlyn gave me! I gave her a vague idea of what I wanted and she designed it more perfectly than I could’ve imagined. She was so friendly and professional and my tattoo has healed beautifully. The line work is really crisp and the shading is great. I’ve gotten so many compliments on it. I was able to do a walk-in for nipple piercing to ask some questions and was seen immediately. The parlor is clean, friendly and has an emphasis on sanitation.My piercer was Alex Hannan and he was very professional, pleasant and gave me all the information I needed to protect my new piercings! He was knowledgeable about skin conditions and helped me make a decision about spacing out my piercings in order to insure my safety.I cant wait to go back to get more work done in the future!

Update: The two tattoos that I got are healing well. I still would definitely recommend this place and the artist, Shea. Amazing work and the tattoos are still beautiful. Very welcoming environment. Armani makes it super comfortable when it comes to getting pierced. She explains everything to you, the workspace is very clean, she explains how to properly take care of the piercing(s) afterwards. Ive had her do 4 piercings and never had any issues. Shell make sure you are comfortable before and during the piercing. Amazing 👏🏼

Jazzlyn has done four of my pieces and executed exactly what I wanted! Shes done work on my family and friends and their pieces also turned out amazing! Every piece she does is so beautifully done, and you can tell she loves what she does. Her calligraphy is absolutely beautiful, which in my experience it is VERY important to do your research on artists that have good calligraphy if youre looking to have that type of work done. Ive had not so good experiences with other artists in the past, but Jazzlyn makes the process so easy and understands how to make her clients feel comfortable with her. I would recommend her to anyone, and I plan to use only her in the future!

I got pierced by Armani a little over two weeks ago, and let me be frank. SHE IS THE MOST AMAZING GIRL EVER. I was very anxious due to not having many piercings, she proceeded to thoroughly explain the aftercare I needed to do, and what to expect not only during the piercing but afterwards. This alleviated my fears. On top of all of that, she guided me throughout the piercing, explaining every step and why she was doing everything.The environment was so clean, and I had no fears of sterilization issues.Overall, I would recommended anyone who is wanting a piercing to go to Armani.

We went to Blue Byrd and Armani pierced our son’s (12) ear. He really wanted it, but was really nervous too! Armani did a great job of talking him through everything, kept him calm and gave him a piercing that he’s super proud of! We’ll be back!

Ive gotten tattooed by Tina 4 times, and its been a pleasure every time. She can do a great job in black and white or full color.

Got my right nostril pierced by armani twice, she did amazing both times, very nice and fun to be around and still professional. she’s a delight to be around and impossible to be upset around due to her amazing bubbly personality. i have gone to her for all my piercings and will continue to go to her becuase of the work she does, how she does it and how she presents herself, 10/10 would give my stars if i could

Tbh I am not sure I even want to give Armani a one star. She pierced my septum about six months ago, and in all fairness I understand if she is still newish at piercing, but I think she went through my cartilage when she pierced my septum because I couldn’t even clean my piercing without it being unbearably painful.I was cleaning it one day and it was about two or so weeks after the piercing and it started bleeding very badly. I called the shop and spoke with Armani. She informed me that she had no idea who I was and when I explained the issue she told me it’s out of my scope of practice. Like what? How do you even have your piercing certification and not know what to do in that type of situation? As a former nurse, who knows CPR and the Heimlich I’m not just going to sit back and say, oh it’s out of my scope of practice now. No! I’m going to help them anyway I can, or I’m going to search for the answers if I don’t know them. That should be a requirement in any professional environment like that, especially working with blood and different parts of the body. Please seek the knowledge you need to in situations like that for future reference.

Just got my nostril and septum piercing from this Blue Byrd location. Armani was AMAZING, super sweet and patient and did an excellent job lining up my piercings. I also got two tattoos from Margo, both beautiful designs. I can’t wait to come back for both of them!

Had a great session with Taylor and he did a great job on my first tattoo! Hoping to come back to update after it heals but couldn’t think more highly of it. Definitely recommend, 10/10.

I have gotten three tattoos by Jazzlyn ranging in sizes and even the small tiny one has the perfect line work. I am beyond happy with all three of my tattoos and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone! I wish I had a better image of this piece healed because it’s absolutely stunning!

I went to see Christina (Tina) again for another tattoo with my mom! I got my first one with her from the Wayne Ave location as she is in an apprenticeship, and I was blown away by this location! The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming. Taylor and Hannah were extremely outgoing and stopped in and talked with all of us, and it made the experience so much better. Everyone was so helpful and it felt like we were all just friends hanging out. Everything was very clean, organized, and all around an incredible atmosphere. Tina is so sweet and makes you feel very comfortable with your design, placement, and possible color. She doesnt tattoo unless you are 100% satisfied, which was helpful when my mom couldnt decided on what she wanted. Highly recommend this place! You go for the art, but the staff makes you come back.

I got my first two tattoos done by Tina today and she was great. We talked the whole time and made me feel comfortable and did such a good job. Anthony James is an amazing artist and in the past two months I have gotten 3 new tattoos and he redid one for me. He does amazing work, the one is on my calf and when I wear shorts people stop me and ask about it.

Tina was absolutely awesome. We booked an appointment with her for the 3rd and myself and my three friends were pleasantly surprised at how professional and fun she was. We three got the same design, all in different locations, and she catered to the size, positioning and line work with the utmost precision. Don’t think for a second that because she hasn’t been tattooing very long that she is any less of an incredible artist or is inexperienced. Girl’s got chops. She’s not heavy handed, which is an absolute blessing. But she’s very tentative and makes sure that you are getting the exact piece that you won’t. There’s no room for error, and she makes sure you’re more than satisfied before the stencil and after the tattooing is finished. She’s incredibly talented and we will definitely be back again. Also, she’s got some wicked track lighting that is perfect for distracting while the needle is working it’s magic. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend.

I got a skull tattoo from Christina that she drew and I’m obsessed with it!! She did such a great job and was so kind throughout the process. We only planned one tattoo but If time permitted I would have asked her to do more! The shop itself is welcoming and super chill. 10/10 definitely will be back for more!

I have gone to to see Tina twice now. She is utterly amazing and so sweet! The frog was done in December as a free apprenticeship tattoo ~ she added Henry the snail last week. I am in awe of how much she’s grown in such a short time. The entire time she was tattooing the snail, the other artists in the shop kept coming in and talking to her about her techniques (positive things!). I can’t wait to get my next piece from her. Additionally, the shop was clean and the parking was good! It felt very safe and welcoming.

Tina Petrullo, while being relatively new to the Tattooing game just absolutely kills it.Phenomenal conversation to keep your mind off the tattoo, while also doing a great job on the actual artwork.Her aesthetic is broad and encapsulates a lot of different styles and I really look forward to getting more of her artwork on me.:)

This place has gone down hill so bad. The piercer they had years ago mixed female shaved head was amazing. This new one is snotty and rude. Waited 20 min for her to tell me she didnt have time to do a simple jewelry change. Manager or guy I assume was the manager said to wait and I would be taken care of. She also acted judgmental because I wanted a hoop in my Medusa so Id stop mindlessly messing with it. The old staff was friendly and warm. Also she didnt even offer to show me septum rings she just picked one out. Go somewhere else this place aint it.Edit: to this manager below you never once offered to change it for my wife you told us both to sit and wait til she was done that you were busy drawing. The fact you are lying is unbelievable. So unprofessional.

I drove all the way from Indiana for an apprentice tattoo from Tina. Very professional and clean, loved the atmosphere. Tina was extremely sweet and easy to talk to. I already have my next appointment scheduled to get my tattoo filled with color!!

Kayla is amazing! I have been going to her since her apprenticeship and she is wonderful! If your looking to get a tattoo done by her I highly recommend! I got the tiger from her in March and it healed and looks amazing!

I had to come on here and leave my own comment after reading the response from the manager. I just got done talking to Liz at the other location and I was willing to go in and have her change my jewelry because she was so nice and understanding of why I was frustrated. After the owners response and blatant lying theres just no way I would ever give my money to bluebird. The fact is if he was willing to change my jewelry something that is very simple I would never have waited for 20 minutes when I was running late to an appointment. He asked what I needed done one time I said I need my lip ring changed out and possibly my septum and he said our piercer is busy when shes done shell get you taken care of. He was too busy drawing to service the customers every single person that came in he just told them to wait. I find it super offensive that he would suggest he offered to help me because theres literally no reason I would have turned him down all I wanted was my jewelry switched out. But its obvious that they dont want to do their job because when I told her that I also wanted to pick out a septum ring she literally picked one out for me and didnt even give me any options she was just happy to try to ring me up for two very basic pieces of jewelry for 50 bucks without spending the time to let me pick out what I actually wanted. I have literally never had a piercer do that their change in staff is not for the better unfortunately. I would recommend trying eves ink in springboro I know it might be a drive for some of you but trust me it is worth it. I am not going to sit here and argue with the apparent owner but just know I get nothing from lying and I surely had no benefit from sitting and waiting on a piercer to just swap out my jewelry. But they have every benefit from lying about it so they dont come off as lazy and unprofessional. Really miss the days when people actually enjoyed their job and treated customers with kindness and professionality.

This place was such a different and more comfortable setting compared to other shops and it was by far my favorite. I had an appointment with Christina and she perfected the simple flower I wanted. She said she loves little details and it shows! 100% gonna go back here every time.

Christina Petrullo was awesome. I went in for a flash piece. She gave great advice on placement and color choices. I loved how she explained what she was doing and checked in often. I’m already planning to go back! Would recommend to anyone :)

I dont know what theyre talking about. I dont have a boyfriend at all let alone know anyone named Doug lol. I paid a deposit, had texted the artist a date and time that we agreed on. He forgot to add me to his calendar so I show up and get heavily embarrassed by being told there is no appointment for me. He has me text him again and he rescheduled me after I had already waited over a month for that appointment. I couldnt make the second one and forgot to let them know I had an emergency so when he texted me asking me to let him know if Id like to reschedule, I did and no reply. I have no idea who Doug is lol. Wrong person

Just got my first tattoo from here. (Hopefully I tipped well enough. Lol.) But Erik was awesome. I got a simple tattoo, so I was in and out fast. But he took the time to make sure I liked my tattoo and went over after care and stuff with me. Everyone there was super friendly and the atmosphere is very chill. I would highly recommend this place to all my friends.

I cannot express how happy I am with the tattoos I got today! I went to Dakota off of a friends recommendation and his artwork and style were incredible. Everything was very clean and sanitary, music in the shop was great, and Dakota was great with conversation when I got a bit bored with sitting. Ill 100% be going back to him for more pieces.

Went in for my first tattoo and I didnt make an appointment but I was in the chair getting my stencil on in less than an hour. Its a really great atmosphere with even better people. Anthony is awesome, he talked to me the whole time he was tattooing me and made me feel really comfortable. Really a great place, I will definitely be going back.

Jake did an excellent job with my tattoo. I was very nervous and he put my mind at ease. I’m planning to get another cover up done only by him because he is so good. His bedside manner is amazing and comforting.

I’ve been there twice twice in the last couple months for piercings. The first were my nipples; which was done by the apprentice Hannah with Liz watching. Liz took the time to educate Hannah as she went- as I had been pierced previously and there was one still open. Hannah throughly explained the process and aftercare with me before getting percied. I appreciated the fact Liz watched from afar and let Hannah make the decisions. I am sure that was a confidence boost.The second was my nose (of course after Ohio said it was okay again). Again both Hannah and Liz were there; and Liz just observed while Hannah did the piercing.While I didn’t get tattooed, I saw the artists busy and the shops was clean which is important. Everyone I interacted with was professional and nice. I definitely recommend this place.

Dee Jay did an amazing job depicting what I wanted, I gave him an idea and he ran with it. He is very friendly and welcoming. He is very confident and professional.The only thing is the chair I was in could’ve been more comfortable but even with that he made it as comfortable as he could. Very great job, cannot wait for this to heal and to possibly get another.

If you need a piercing Liz is the person to see! She has done 5 for me and they have been the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. The least painful and best healing.

Hannah was awesome and did an amazing job with my tragus piercing. I initially went in for another piercing, but she explained why it would work well for me and was very knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend her and blue byrd.

I always have a great experience when I go here! Dakota has done many of my tattoos and does great work. Tonight William did my industrial and it was a great experience! I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get tattooed or pierced!

Reply: if there was a problem something I said the the artist should have said something to change topics. Also was told I didnt give her any creative freedom, I gave her the main pieces I wanted she designed all of it and choose the colors herself giving minimal wiggle room for change. The artist gave some topics as well to talk about that arent exactly PG either also bringing up personal events and Info of previous clientUnprofessional artist, was working with an artist in shop for almost a year on a half sleeve, the artist has now decided they do not want to finish the half sleeve they started leaving me the client with unfinished work.

I adore this shop!! Personally have a few pieces from Joey, and I cant recommend Blue Byrd enough. Amazing talent, great atmosphere, artists are approachable, and skilled. Check out their portfolios, will absolutely be a returning customer!

Scheduled on a Saturday for a Monday piercing, got a text from the piercer just an hour before my appointment was supposed to start asking to reschedule for another day the same week. Agree for after 5pm the next day, never given a specific time. Day of appointment, text asking for specific time, then a while later text saying on our way to the studio just to let them have a heads up. Not a minute later get a text saying that we’d have to reschedule again. I get that things happen, but really disappointed at the lack of communication and waste of my time especially after hearing good things about Blue Byrd.

I cannot rave about David enough. He was funny, super professional, and made sure to keep me and himself safe (COVID guidelines) while making me comfortableI went in for a second tongue piercing to sit behind my 12 year old tongue piercing that I knew wasn’t done very well.David instantly recognized the piercing wasn’t done very well and explained why the look I wanted for my piercings wasn’t attainable with my first tongue piercing- then fixed it for me after doing my second piercing.I will definitely be back for all my future piercings and tattoos

Great place for piercings! Hannah is super friendly and professional, and the blue byrd staff has been really good about giving advice and help with questions during the healing process. Couldnt be happier.

5 stars!!!! : I got work done on my forearm and I was very very happy with how it turned out. I went to work and showed all my friends and they kept saying how detailed it was and how they expected it to start moving it looked so good. I know that if I ever get another one, I’m going here to the same artist. (Artist was Dakota btw)

This is an updated & edited review. After a not so great experience due to a complete misunderstanding the owner David reached out to me, as well as the piercer Hannah, to right the wrongs. I have never had a company do that before and I am so appreciative! It really speaks on the integrity of the place. Nice clean office with a great aesthetic & very friendly staff. Definitely recommend 🙂

Called to inquire about a piercing and was told they had nobody to do it. The owner blames not having employees on me. They should call it Blue Byrd Tattoo And Maybe Body Piercings. Cross your fingers that you never have to deal with the owner.

Tattoo artist went out to smoke a cigarette before doing my tattoo then he complained about making it pretty as requested. He was very rude and rushed through the process to get done and go have another cigarette. I ended up with my least favorite tattoo. It looks like someone drew it on with a pen, and it is crooked. Im very disappointed and will never return to this location.

So heres the story lol...now I initially got my septum pierced last February by Liz who did a flawless job. I took good care of it & months later went back to Liz to have her change it out to a seamless band. Welp the band got a stuck a little bit when I tried to change it myself so the next day after work I called a tattoo shop closer to my job to change it out. They told me they had 2 people there that were experienced piercers & would have no probs changing it...BIG MISTAKE!! Now keep Im mind I brought my own jewelry a clicker that I bought from Liz. Anyhoo...a woman ends up helping me she took out my band & then proceeds to basically irritate the hell out of me & my nose!!! To make this long story short the lady couldnt get my piercing back in. She told me that #1 she had never seen a clicker before 😩...& #2 that my piercing had closed...halfway!!! Smh...she tells me Ill give your old jewelry back & you can wear it like a fake one. No one will know but you. Anyways I immediately call Liz because I wanted a knowledgeable & professional opinion. She told me to come on up. And of course...it was not closed just very irritated. Liz put my clicker in & I was off. I...WILL...NEVER let anyone touch my nose but Liz lol...she is EVERYTHING!! So nice & just so pleasant & I will recommend her & Blue Byrd to anybody!!! Im not gonna be mean enough to call that other piercer out...but I will be petty enough to say the shop is on 5th street & her name rhymes with wispy lol✌🏽

Highly recommend going to blue byrd, they are very welcoming and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. This tarot card was done by Tina, she’s so sweet and very talented, can’t wait to see it fully finished!

Fud is an amazing tattoo artist!! He did a clean up and a re-do on a tattoo I had gotten 8 years ago. Looks 1000% better and the guy is cool as heck! The shop itself is super clean and tidy. The restrooms are spotless. Not what you would expect from a tattoo joint! Fud is HIGHLY recommended by others and he just added another fan to his list.Check out his profile on Instagram where he spotlights a great deal of his work. Hes under Jonathan Gearheart aka fudruckus. His freehand work is stellar.

All the artist are amazing people and perfessional. Very clean shop. Best around. Since Ive started going to this shop Ive gotten all my work done by Jake. Jake is an amazing artist and so cool to hang with.

I went in to schedule an appointment, and I stood in the lobby for 40 minutes. Artists and even the owner would shuffle in and out and completely ignore me. Several times I flagged someone down to ask to be helped, and each person would say, Oh, yeah, someone will be with you. and then disappear. I ended up going to Krazy Katz, who were very polite and welcoming.

Hannah was great! Husband got new ear piercings. Very clean and sterile area. Hannah was very patient and sweet.

I would NEVER go back to this shop for a piercing. I had my ear pierced by a young lady at this shop who seemed very careless during the whole process. After a month, I went back there to show her that I formed a bump. The piercing lady told me that it was a keloid and that its normal. She didnt even remember that she was the one who pierced my ear either. I was not surprised. Then, she asked me if I was sure whether or not I wanted to take the jewelry out of my ear which puzzled me. If I am forming a keloid, then why would I want to keep the jewelry in my ear?!? She told me to visit my PCP or dermatologist, and stated that the providers may need to prescribe cortisone. I was scared and freaked out because I have never experienced this with any of my piercings. I left the shop with my ear bleeding, and the lady never did offer a cotton swab. I didnt notice the discharge until I got in my car. Then, I went to the urgent care the same day just to be told that its not a keloid. The doctor stated the lady who pierced my ear did not know what she was talking about, and the doctor advised that I am experiencing a lot of swelling. The doctor also stated that I do not need to be prescribed anything. Basically, I wasted time and money. Hopefully, my insurance company covers majority of the cost for that urgent care visit! The lady who pierced my ear was obviously unknowledgeable.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------IN RESPONSE TO BLUE BYRDS COMMENT,Your reply was very unprofessional and disrespectful. As a customer, I write reviews to inform others about MY personal experience and not to hinder the growth of any companies. As far as cleaning my piercing, I cleaned my piercing on a regular basis. I did not allow my piercing to get dirty. When I went to the doctor, he advised that it was NOT infected and that I did NOT need to be prescribed anything for it. FYI all of my pillows are CLEAN. Additionally, I have 5 piercings so Im pretty aware of the healing process and the steps required to take care of piercings. I have NEVER experienced anything like this with my piercings which is why I was highly concerned. I would NOT recommend that you make ASSUMPTIONS.I asked Liz to examine my ear, and she told me that I have a keloid. LIz did not state that she THINKS I have one. My boyfriend was present throughout the whole interaction. I cant say that Liz pierced my ear poorly because Im not a professional. HOWEVER, my boyfriend was unimpressed by her technique and the way things were handled. ALSO, the DOCTOR did not specify the swelling was due to my negligence such as improper care and maintenance.I think you guys should improve your customer service skills and learn to be more empathetic, and responsive to the needs of your customers. Additional training may be needed as well and thats okay because we all have room for improvement. No one is perfect. Also, you guys should not diagnose customers. For example, telling the customer that he/she has a keloid when its just simply swelling. This goes back to my lesson about making assumptions. Also, I do not recommend that you allow your customers to walk out the shop with blood running down their ear...that does not sound very sanitary to me.Once again, this review is my personal experience. Im just speaking on what happened to me.

I read someone said they are too good to do a simple tattoo ... nonsense... I got two one very simple kanji symbol on my wrist ... they did that and even touched up my existing back tattoo I got in Florida for no extra cost...They are awesome... Id definitely go back

I came in to ask questions and possibly get a tattoo with my girlfriend, and sister. Dudes entire demeanor was completely disrespectful. Not sure what his problem was but we were all turned off. To add insult to injury the next customer was greeted in a totally opposite manner. Very displeased.
