Back40Tattoo

So the first tattoo I got here was so bad I had to pay another shop to fix it (pussycat tattoo) they had to double the line thickness to cover up all the mistakes Back40 made. I thought to myself, just because one artist isn’t good, doesn’t mean non are. I signed up for their Friday the 13th flash tattoos to give it another shot. I arrived at 9:45 am to get in line when all advertising said it started at 10 am. They proceeded to never contact me. I went in the next day to talk to them. I wanted to vent my frustrations at not being called and schedule something. As soon as I brought up not being called, the lady who helped me got incredibly rude towards me. She told me “well it’s not guaranteed. You should have got here earlier. We’ll call you tomorrow to reschedule, I can’t reschedule you today” (I never asked to be rescheduled for that day, just to reschedule something) I thought to myself 15 minutes was early enough to not be rude, but get in line. I guess I was wrong. The shop never called me back to reschedule anything, or to inform me they wouldn’t be able to. The lack of communication, rudeness to customers, and bad tattoos are sad. Do not go here.

Back40 always leave their clients with such an amazing and memorable experience. I’ve personally had the pleasure in working with Stephany and Nicolette. Both are phenomenal at their work and are beautiful human beings. I’ve enjoyed many tattoo appointments with these two beauties, as well as the passing conversations with the other artists as well. I would 1000% percent recommend to anyone looking for a professional tattooing business, with artists who have the creative experience, care about their clients as well as the quality of work, and relationships they build.

One of the best places to go get a tattoo! All the artists are so welcoming! And the art is the best!! I went with my boyfriend to get a tattoo of a drawing of mine the artist did it so perfectly!! I will definitely be coming back to get a tattoo of my own here! Absolutely love the environment and everything about the shop, the people,and the art! Absolutely beautiful!

Got my first tattoo here today! Raechelle Blackman did very well, we looked at different ways to make the tattoo look better.She did great in coaching and explaining the reason for upscaling the design I wanted and everything. Raechelle didnt just up and leave it after filling up the tattoo, she looked for spots of imperfections.This tattoo cost me $125 and I gave a 20% even tip. Wish I could of given more!

I first did a lot of reviews looked at pictures even went to one or two places have them draw something up and just didnt get it right Vibe when I came in here I was greeted with nothing but smiles and good energy plus amazing artwork all around me. Savannah is amazing I would recommend you to anyone very flexible anything I ask has exceeded expectations. I met Sarah at the Portland tattoo convention and had her do a tattoo on me. She was initially very kind and when I reached out a month later because it wasn’t healing well like my previous 12 tattoos, she said I could come by and she’d take a look at it, assuring me she cares for her clients. When I reached out another week later (today) to see her hours and availability, she had done a total 180 on me. She said if I’m so worried I should just go to urgent care and that I should seek medical attention for the tattoo. I followed all instructions and wasn’t worried, just wanted her professional opinion since she did the tattoo. She told me she couldn’t help me and to seek help elsewhere, then stopped opening/responding to my messages.I went to a nearby tattoo shop and they assured me I don’t need medical attention, that it’s just scarring from a heavy-handed artist. I’m mostly shocked and disappointed in Sarah’s lack of empathy or desire to help a client. I will definitely not ever be going back to this shop, and would advise other people not to use Sarah since it’s clear she doesn’t actually care about client’s wellbeing. Such a shame to have encountered an artist like this, and I hope no one else has the same experience I had with her.

I came in for a flash 2x2 sale and my appointment was already almost passed closing, Amanda still got me in and did two really cute tattoos of my choice. A cute little moon and zero from the nightmare before Christmas. I love them and plan on coming back to make future appointments. They were also all so nice and welcoming! Definitely recommend everyone to come here if they want some tats.

Before the pandemic I got a tattoo done here with my partner and they were very accommodating. We got them done same day within 10 minutes of each other. It was a simple line work tattoo and the artist did great especially because they accepted us as walk-ins last minute. I really appreciated it and was impressed with how quick it was done and the price.

Stephany has done a huge chunk of my work and when placement got difficult, Haleigh and Savannah joined in as well! Francesca is super sweet and funny and they made getting a tattoo fun and healing and obviously, I also love Stephanys work itself. Her lettering is clean, handwritten script is beautiful and when I want black and gray flowers, she is my #1.

I love back 40. Me and many of my friends have gone here. I grew up in Colton so this is a local hometown place. They are a great group of artists I have loved both my tattoos. Their shop is very clean and everyone is super friendly you feel at home.

Actually, unfortunately I never had the opportunity to see how their work is because I left an email and voicemail and they NEVER GOT BACK TO ME! So screw ‘em! I went to my old person that I already trust and know. That is bad service as far as I’m concerned which sucks because I really liked the work I saw online.

Ive been to 3 ladies at Back40. For 3 different tattoos-the 3rd is hard to picture but its my sons name :) All 3 ladies I saw are absolutely amazing! They are so talented and listen to everything you say! On the unicorn, I gave Francesca free reign on the water color and she still wanted me to be part of the designs and opinions:) They will always bring you in and make sure you love what is being done before they do anything!I have made the mistake of going elsewhere, once; NEVER AGAIN!!!

Highly recommend this place! My mom started going here for her tattoos after it being recommended to her and I have gotten all of mine from here. The staff are friendly and personable but also complete tattoos in a timely manner. The hourly rate is great and very on par with the quality. You go in this shop as a stranger but you leave as family.

I told her what I wanted she created something amazing and the process didn’t hurt at all. She was super friendly as the other ladies working that day. I can’t wait to get my second tattoo there. This place was great! The lobby itself was welcoming, the staff were super friendly, and my tattoo artist, Nikki, was superb! There was a small problem when it was time to pay, but it was handled professionally and politely! I would definitely recommend this place to others! I got my tattoo done here. Only took 2 hours for a full rose and paw print tattoo. Stephanie did mine and she kept me as comfortable as possible through the entire process. They keep in touch as well with their customers if there are any questions of concerns. Definitely going to be a returning customer for any future tattoos or piercings

Had a really great exerience. Didnt know what I wanted for a cover up of acetic butterfly. They listened to my ideas and thoughts and drew me up a design. It had everything I wanted incorporated in unique ways. I loved it! Cant wait for my next tattoo!

Nikki was super flexible with a schedule that would work for me. I ended up getting quite a number of tattoos at once and she was quick, polite, and Im really happy with the result. Super affordable too. Will definitely be going back for more in the future.

Ive gone here a few times and the shop is clean and professional! I absolutely love my sleeve. Nic even touched up the other half that I had done previously by another artist. I live out of state now but I am definitely still considering going back here when I visit home.

I wish I could leave a good review. But after seeking work on a cover. I ended up with a disaster. The artist was inexperienced. Which is fine. We all start somewhere. But when things went south so did everything else. I ended up getting tossed around like a plastic bag. Then after a month I have been completely ignored and now am forced to go somewhere else to work on this project. Having to spend even more $$$ to fix the mess! I am very disappointed with how unprofessional the staff is. After all this it would be nice for them to at least offer to help pay for the re-doing! I even went to an apt that no one showed up to!

I had an appointment with Lanea yesterday and she captured my vision perfectly. She even made it more perfect by adding other details to it. Very laid back & made me very comfortable throughout a 7 hour session with conversations and jokes. Even though she had been there for 12+ hours already, her hand kept going! Friendly atmosphere & awesome work.

Nicolette is an amazing artist and makes you feel very comfortable. She seems to know exactly what you want. Three tattoos for my grandson and one for me have all been beyond expectations. We won’t go anywhere else!

I got a water color hummingbird from Nicolette. It turned out incredible. The tattoo is on my rib cage, after the painful outline she offered a topical anesthetic, which really took the edge off. The shop is cute and clean, and the artists use disposable needles. Nicolette seems passionate about her art and I highly recommend her. I will be coming back.

It was only a small script but she did a great job 😊❤ if youre looking to get a small saying/script I suggest going to Savanna. Shes a very sweet lady and lets you take your time to chose and decide how you want your script to look!😊

I absolutely love Back40 Tattoo! The atmosphere in the shop is always amazing and Nic is hands down, the best artist I have ever let touch my skin. We started with an upper arm piece that ended up into a full sleeve. For the most part I let Nic design the piece because I fully trust her artistic abilities. I get compliments all the time on my sleeve and always tell folks to go check out Back40 Tattoo.

I went in to get my first ever professional tattoo and David is the artist to did my dope goat peice he made sure I was comfortably seated before he started took he did my lining super quick and overall just gave a super great experience I got a super funny sticker at the end everything just down to the customer service was 10/10 super friendly people and I will definitely be returning

I wish I could leave a 5 star review as my first tattoo appt went pretty well. I thought my artist and I had a great vibe going to where she even said she would have loved to go have a drink with me afterwards.So with the contrast check appt, I thought things would go well again. But my artist had an attitude with me from the very beginning. I understand we all have bad days, but sheesh. I asked for one thing on my tattoo to be touched up. I even emailed her about it a few weeks prior and she said that was fine. Once I got to the shop she drew the adjustment on me and asked if I liked it. I had one tiny correction, and she told me I was being picky. Well it is ink that is permanent going on my body. Why wouldnt I want to make sure that its to my liking??Then it just kept going down hill from there. She told me I was going to have to pay $60 more for the minor adjustment, calling it an add on. Well it wasnt an add on. It wasnt anything different than the original tattoo design. There was a flaw in the original tattoo that I thought needed to be fixed. Then she went on to say nothing needed adjusting I guess since I didnt want to pay $60 for what was supposed to be a free appointment, she didnt want to do anything for me.I was polite through this whole experience trying to see through her rudeness.In the end she said she would go ahead and make the adjustment after someone pulled her into the back area. I am thinking they probably said something to her about it all... there was a couple rude remarks said once we got to her station. But again, I tried to look past them.She tried saying it takes so much more brainpower and time to do what I asked for. The contrast appt was for 1 hour. She literally tattoed me with the adjustments for MAYBE 15 minutes. Looks like it wasnt as difficult as she made it out to be.I now have a tattoo that I am pleased with. But I should have gotten there without the attitude. Even though I aas pretty disappointed with how the session went, I decided to tip her. Then she seemd to be a bit nicer and told me if I need another tattoo that I can give her a call. But trust me, you wont be getting that call. I actually have another tattoo already planned, and found a different artist.

I like the tattoo I got but I dont feel like it was worth the price, blown out lines, parts of the flower have missing color, lines dont connect, etc. Everyone is really nice in here and its a fun great environment though. If your getting something small or simple, it would be okay but dont get anything elaborate or with a lit of details.

Had a great experience at this shop, the tattoo artists, David and Amanda, were great, did an awesome job with my family. Very friendly, very creative.

I met up with Savanna at Back 40 to get a cover it done and we set the appointment. She listened to what I wanted and came up with the design. She did the design up and after a couple of tweeks it was perfect. She remembered the story of why I was getting this certain tattoo. She knocked it out of the park! I will be going back!!
