Finally had decided to get a 2nd tattoo after quite a long time, and had thought about an idea for over a year. Had 2 separate friends highly recommend Art and Soul. So that made me decide to check it out. One of my friends recommended Ben, so thats who I met with to go over ideas. He was super easy to talk to, got what I was trying to go for, and had done similar stuff recently.When I came back for my appt, it was super chill. Ben had made some tweaks to the design like we had discussed and it looked great. The process was super easy, didnt have any pain. And most important part, I feel Ben exceeded my expectations, and it turned out way better than I expected. Hes a phenomenal artist, and Id most definitely recommend him. Mine was a Nordic style design of Thors Hammer. I love it. Didnt have any issues with blood or anything after, besides the normal feeling like a sunburn for a bit. But I now have ideas for continuing on with more and Im definitely going back to Art and Soul, and 100% gonna return to Ben. If youre looking to get some work done, definitely check them out, its worth the drive, and everyone seemed super nice, knowledgeable and very skilled/talented!Hell Yeah!

Had a girls day with my two older daughters and Erik was amazing through the whole process. He is very caring and thoughtful throughout the consultation, design and the appointment. You can tell he is passionate about his work and he did an amazing job on all three of our tattoos. Plans for more are already being made. Highly recommend Art and Soul as everyone there was very nice.

I went in to ask about getting some earring holes reopened and Angel was very helpful. By chance he was able to get me in the same day and it was quick with minimal pain for me. Small titanium earrings were included and he walked me through aftercare answering all my questions. They do ear piercings for minors with a parents permission, too. Tattoos are done in the same open space so I recommend calling ahead.

This place is above and beyond amazing! All the artists are friendly and gifted in their abilities! I highly recommend going to see Erik for a tattoo!!!!

Ben, AKA Handsome Strokes (& everyone else too) is super nice. I had two tattoos, that were well over 25 years old, that I had not taken care of. I asked for a touch up on one, and a cover-up (with the old one peeking thru) on the other. The touch up looks like its brand new again. Very precise inking! The cover up already looks amazing, and its not even done yet! Definitely will keep working with them... for as long as they put up with my chat and sass!

Isabelle has done all of my piercings and tattoos. They are absolutely phenomenal. I am incredibly happy with how they’ve all turned out. Clean, comfortable, welcoming environment. Highly recommend Art & Soul, especially Isabelle!

Angel was amazing with our little 6 year old daughter. He did a great job talking her through her ear piercing. Very thorough instructions on keeping everything clean and healthy!

I got my first tattoo at 50. I’m 56 now and all 12 of my tattoos were done at this shop. Great vibe, great artists, family friendly environment, judgement- free zone. I recommend Art & Soul to all my friends.

I got a wrap around floral/ vine tattoo with Ben and I LOVE it! He did such a good job. He was very professional and took his time to make sure everything was just how I wanted it. Everything was super clean and organized and I felt comfortable the whole time. I’d highly recommend art & soul, and highly recommend Ben for your next tattoo!!

Beth is awesome. I sent her a bunch of pictures for ideas and she drew the perfect tattoo. Then she powered through a 7 hour tattoo session with no breaks! She is a total beast and I am so in love with my new tattoo!

Angel is a really nice guy, fun to talk to and easy to get excited with, and if youre going for black work, rock on. His personality and black work was why I asked him to help with the piece that this review ultimately warranted.The rainbow vomit that is now permanently inked into my arm, is so far from what was discussed. It will be an embarrassment to wear until its healed enough that I can cover it up.....To say Im disappointed is putting it mildly, there are many talented artists there Im sure, but for my experience I feel lied to and betrayed.I came in to get, what I felt, was an unfinished tattoo spruced up a bit. Add some shading and color to round out an older piece and give it some life again. What I got however, was poor color matching at best outright wrong colors at the worst(see reference image of what I asked for), almost none of the shading I wanted (I had to ask for any to be done directly at the end in a failed attempt to salvage something which was done sparingly and begrudgingly), and what ultimately STILL feels like an unfinished piece except now its infinitely worse. I paid to have this done to me....TLDR- Angel is good guy and great at black...use someone else for color work

Everyone here has been awesome. Beth is amazing and does phenomenal work! She has a light hand and works fairly quickly while producing nothing but the best! The shop is nice, cozy, clean, and very decorative with great art pieces to purchase. I have done two tats with her so far and I will definitely be going back to get more work done with Beth.

I went to Art & Soul for the first time to just get some filler work done by Beth, and she did an amazing job! I gave her very little to go off, but she had ideas and executed them beautifully! The shop was nice and clean and everyone was nice. Definitely check this place out!

I had my first tattoo here with Angel and I plan to come here for all future ones too. I 100% would recommend both this shop, and Angel, for anyone looking for a tattoo.The shop was easy to work with, their online scheduling was very simple to use and everyone I spoke with was polite, friendly, and helpful. The pricing was very reasonable and the shop was neat and clean. They followed every safety protocol I would expect and never once made me feel uncomfortable.During my initial consultation Angel listened to me, and heard not only my specific ideas, but also the general theme and the rationale behind what I wanted. He sent me over a very well done drawing for my review, which was a lot better than what Id originally imagined. It had amazing detail and perfectly captured the theme I wanted.When the time came for the actual tattoo he was ready to go when I arrived, worked with me to make sure I agreed with the final drawing, size, and placement. He then completed the tattoo in the amount of time he estimated it would, charged me exactly what I expected, provided very clear and easy to follow care routines, and ensured I had his phone number and email in case I had any questions later on.I would strongly recommend anyone considering a tattoo have it done here.

We took our daughter here to get her ears pierced for her 7th birthday. Angel was awesome and the utmost professional. He explained everything clearly before, while and after doing it to ensure she and us as her parents fully understood, and he was very good at putting her at ease (I think momma was more nervous then our baby girl lol). Shop and procedures were very clean and sanitary as one would expect. Personally I can’t wait to go back and get some ink down the road!

I’ve gotten several tattoos here and love all of them. They are beautifully done and healed great. Ben and Erik, who have tattooed me here, are so friendly, kind and talented. I recommend anyone to come here and get some ink!

We went to Art and Soul in NG for my 6 year old daughters ear piercing! My daughter knew what was coming so she was calm and prepared, but we had Anna and she was INCREDIBLE with her. She made the experience so smooth and put my LO at ease. She gave her a lollipop and a temporary tattoo and was so sweet with her! This was a quick appointment and she was super professional and very invested on this piercings cleanliness and care going forward and during our appointment. Everyone there also complimented her when she was done. It was a great experience and I will be bringing my other daughter when she is ready too!!

I got a tattoo with Erik and he give me exactly what i was looking for. He was super nice and answered all of our questions even about unrelated things (piercings Im considering and such). I got two ferns and he so perfectly captured exactly what was in my head. I love it and my experience there so much! Hes a very talented artist and a friendly person. Great for first timers like me :)

I came here to get my nipples pierced. I had Angel and he was AMAZING. Super professional, very skilled, and made the process as stress & pain free as possible. I would definitely recommend!!

Great place with chill vibes and incredibly skilled employees. Shop chatter is always interesting, but Im also nosy. There is a lot of taxidermy and bones in the shop, which I thought was really cool, but you may wanna skip it if those will freak you out.

The piercer who did my daughters ears was fantastic. I was a little unsure about going to a tattoo business for a little kids ear piercing, but Im so glad I did. Anna was very good with kids and also very good at piercing. The ear piercing was done evenly and without a traumatic piercing gun. The facility was very clean and staff was very friendly.

Angel was absolutely amazing! I walked in for my first tattoo not knowing if I would actually go through with it. I came back a little bit later and he was already working on the drawing. He used pictures that I had and made it his own also adding my grandmother’s exact handwriting. He spent so much time making me feel completely comfortable. The tattoo was exactly what I wanted and more! I get so many compliments and I am really happy I decided to do it! Thanks Angel!

Ive has super amazing experiences here with beth, angel, and captain. However multiple friends and I will most likely not be returning after our unpleasant experiences with Anna. Everyone felt she was rude and arrogant for the work she provided. She is not friendly at the front desk either. After crooked piercings and no apologies, watching my friend accidentally get poked in her face with a needle before her piercing, and her demeanor, I unfortunately wont be coming back after a few happy years of service from the art and soul crew.

The good Capn fixed my tattoo I had gotten and they made it amazing. They were very professional and the other artists were great to be around and talk to. Overall great experience and would and will recommend to everyone looking for a new tattoo.

Amazing artists that have so much fun working together. I have had 2 full day sessions and a piercing there and every time everyone is smiling and enjoying their work. I have yet to see a bad tattoo or meet someone who doesnt also love going there.

Stopped in while at the Beer, Bacon & Cheese festival and all the associates there were wonderful to talk to, and the tattooist are very professional and talented. Katherine did my piercing and she was so calming, professional and works well with her clients. I will definitely be stopping back in next time I am in the area.

What an amazing Mother’s Day experience today! We had so much fun with Cap’n and the work he did is phenomenal! He envisioned what we were wanting in a tattoo perfectly! Amazing line work and in my opinion so light handed which makes the tattoo so much less painful! All of the artists were so welcoming and friendly, everyone was excited to see what the other artist did, such an amazing environment! Can’t wait to start planning my next tattoo with Cap’n!!!

Went with a family member as they got their first tattoo. Emily was the one who did the tattoo and she was great, very patient as she explained things, very clean and extremely professional and personable. Also, while I waited I enjoyed looking at all of the beautiful artwork around the store from local artists. Definitely a first rate place.

Beth did an outstanding job tattooing an outside design I brought in and of my three tattoos, this was the easiest to sit through and most comfortable. A great touch. Plus Beth was willing to listen to my blathering on and on. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: THE CAPTAIN NO LONGER WORKS HERE. Although I cant recommend his old apprentices (Been Shitt or Airick Forceher), Beth and Isabelles work looks impressive with one specializing currently in color and the other in black and white linework.Old review:I showed up late and the captain completely turned me away. I currently live 2 hours away, and made the trip out, but was told to just go home when I arrived. Captain is rude and aloof, has no appointments, while the other artists are friendly.

The Capn did an amazing job from designing the tattoo to the final product!! Will absolutely be coming back, 200% worth the drive! Studio is VERY clean and customer service is top notch!! Love LOVE!!

I took a friend on her 18th birthday to get a tattoo and the outcome could not have made her happier. Erik took (the tattoo artist) took her description and designed exactly what she was looking for. He’s kind, knowledgeable, and a true artist.

In March of 2020 my friend gave me a gift certificate for this place but I didnt make an appointment due to covid. The gift certificate expired in December of 2020 and in March 2021 I reached out to ask if I could still use it. They said they were only closed 3 months and I should have used it when they reopened. Im very disappointed, I really thought they would honor the gift certificate under the circumstances. I never thought to call during the pandemic and even if I had I would not have booked an appointment during 2020. They are missing out on the commission (I was planning to spend more than the certificate was worth) and theyre depriving an artist from a cash tip. Oh well. I heard theyre good, though, so two stars instead of one.

For years I have been saying that I wanted to get a tattoo. Nothing too big, just a small ocean wave on the inside of my foot. I began searching tattoo artists on instagram. I found a few I liked, but it wasnt until I visited the town of New Glarus and walked by the Art & Soul Tattoo and Gallery that I came across Beths work on instagram. The INSANE quality of her pieces blew me away. The colors are so bright and fun and (what sealed the deal for me) her linework is perfection! At the first appointmet, Beth made sure to be extremely thorough in explaining the entire process and after care for a tattoo. Furthermore, she was very accommodating and flexible with scheduling the follow up touch up appointment because of weather issues. For anyone who is hesistant about getting a first tattoo or getting a new addition packed with color and originality, I highly recommend Beth and the incredible team at Art and Soul!

I got a simple tattoo that went around my ankle. I went with my sister. Kelsey was the artist. The lines goes thin then chunky which isn’t what I wanted at all! As she placed it on my leg i couldn’t see it right so I assumed it was perfect but my sister pointed out that it was crooked! If my sister wouldn’t of came with me I would of left with a crooked tattoo! Unbelievable! Never coming here again!

5 stars to the amazing work Beth does but I’m very disappointed about a Groupon situation. The shop was booked too far out to use it and it left me feeling disappointed and without an appointment. I was trying to work with the shop to fit it in before the coupon expired and it just didn’t work out. Thankfully groupon let me trade the voucher in for something different. It sucks that I won’t be returning for any future tattoos after this ordeal. Losing a customer for life hurts a lot more than trying to do more to please your customers. I gave several referrals to your shop based on my last experience but that has now changed. Also, if you let people schedule appointments online, you should have someone available to answer calls every day not just Thursday through Saturday or allow them to change or cancel appointments online. Bad business practices.

First experience was in Middleton WI. The staff was pretty rude, the piecer was inexperienced and rushed through the piercing, didnt clean area of the piercing and didnt clean ear rings.I paid about 170 dollars. 2nd time went to New Glarous WI, to get new jewelry and matching tattoos with my 23 yr old daughter, the first time all lines fell out and most shading. 3rd time We went back for a touch up, last week and lines and shading falling out again. Very u happy....

Im only giving it one star because i love their art. I went in to get a septum peircing and ge tried to pierce it in the wrong spot, i only knew that because i did a lot of research and watched numerous videos of actual professionals doing the procedure, and this guy didnt even do anything he was suppose to, he just tried rushing through the whole process without listening to me, i ended up walking out! I then went to a different shop in madison and she did an excellent job! She did it exactly how its suppose to be done, i cannot believe this guy is even registered as a professional!! I would not reccomend to anyone! Angel was the guys name.

As a 68-year old grandmother, I got my first (and last) tattoo a month ago when I visited my daughter in Monticello. Joe (Webby) Weber was the artist. I told him I wanted a hummingbird; I gave no other details about coloring, etc. He drew up a design and I loved it! Joe was so personable that he made the time go by and the pain seemed minimal. Afterward, the tattoo healed nicely and without any flaking. It was a wonderful experience thanks to Joe. #joe_webbytattoos
