Skin Deep Ink Tattoo

Our daughter got her ears pierced by Tina. She actually pierced her ears when she was a baby but a few years ago she decided she didnt want them anymore- until recently. Tina was absolutely wonderful and patience and kind. She took the time to walk through the process with her and didnt push her or rush her into it. She even gave her a squishy toy to squeeze. Of course Mama had to a get a piercing first or she wasnt willing to do hers- so I got my Tragus. Oof LOL Clean shop, everyone said hi and welcomed us once we got there, and it was a great calm atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

I cannot recommend the folks at Skin Deep enough. Tina and Kirby were incredibly accommodating to my schedule and availability, and created for me a fantastic piece that I am absolutely in love with. I personally struggled finding reference images and in conveying my idea but even at our first meeting it was like Kirby could read my mind. She just got it. And I will definitely be back for more.

Tina pierced my 7 yo daughters ears. She gave her so much time and attention to make the experience as best as possible. Even though she had some push back between the 1st and 2nd ear, Tina worked through it with my daughter to get both done. She is so happy! Within a few hours the redness was gone. Tina was clear on after care instruction and put it into terms my daughter could understand. She had great communication with me before the appointment as well. I highly reccomend Tinas services!

I got one tattoo there. It is beautiful. Tom did a great job. I will only go here when I get another one.

You can get a tattoo, or you can get a GOOD tattoo. Skin Deep is the place to go for the latter. Both Mark and Joe are immensely talented in their own style, professional, and meticulous in their choice of supplies. Although I have not personally sat for the other artists on their team, I have recommended many friends and family to this shop and they too were impressed with the cleanliness, friendliness, and ability of Skin Deep Inks team.

I went to Joe back in 2016 for a back tattoo and he was amazing. I made the terrible mistake of not returning to him for my latest tattoo initially. I ended up going back to Joe to fix the tattoo that I had gotten done in April (of this year, btw ..). He did an AMAZING job. I cant thank him enough for fixing what a terrible job someone else did. If you are thinking of getting a tattoo by Joe, there is no need to think. Just go. Hes the best of the best and you will not be disappointed.

Love it here! Does not even feel like your typical tattoo/piercing studio. The facility is very clean, and staff and employees are very welcoming. I got to relax and watch tv while getting my tattoo.I have done tattoos here with Cracker Joe, love him! He is great !

Joe Swider has been tattooing me at skin deep ink for over 7 years now. His work is beyond amazing! I refuse to go to another tattoo artist because he’s that good. He always makes sure I like the tattoo and colors he’s using. He’s always down for any crazy ideas I have for a piece! The shop is so clean and everyone is super welcoming.

Ive been with Laura multiple times and I can honestly say this is my favorite tattoo artist Ive had so far. Shes courteous, creative, and caring. I cant express how excited I am to have found someone who I wish to get as many tattoos as possible from. I definitely recommend it, but I can say I specifically see Laura. The shop is clean, comfortable and overall great, the owners are super nice. Everyone is very accommodating and friendly.Ive had so many sessions here and I love the artist I go to. The shop is still clean and friendly, the artist is the best and I will continue going here as long as Laura is there.

Not your usual tattoo parlor. It’s bright, clean and friendly atmosphere is very refreshing. All of the artists are welcoming. They are all also very talented. I have had the pleasure of working on a quick one with Joe And two larger projects with Mark. I have been to other artists in the past. But will only be going with Skin Deep for all my future tattoos.

This was my first tattoo, and Im a known fainter during needle-related things like blood draws and shots. Jeff was fully aware of that and did all he could to make sure I was feeling safe and comfortable. I have nothing but good things to say about Jeff and the rest of the crew at Skin Deep.

Really enjoyed the whole experience here. Mark was the one who did my tattoo and it turned out beautifully. Skin Deep Ink is clean and professionally run. It has a very casual, collaborative and inclusive vibe. Theyre prices are what you would expect of quality, custom tattoos.I wish I could rate Skin Deep Ink more than once. I originally found this shop to do my sons tattoo. He has an intellectual disability so I was looking for a place that was clean, with great artists, interested in the style of tattoo he wanted, AND someone who would get my son. Within minutes of meeting Mark I knew this would be a great fit. Mark spent a good amount of time showing my son pictures of his work to compare different colors and techniques to ensure he understood the limitations and that he would get the tattoo he wanted. He did this without talking down to my son or being patronizing. He was open to adjusting the design so my son could do a short or long sitting as needed. In the end, it took two sessions and my son was thrilled with the result.I contact Mark several months later to do a tattoo for me. We spoke briefly about what I wanted and the design he showed me the day of my appointment was exactly what I had in mind. I requested a few minor changes that he made with ease and I left several hours later with a gorgeous tattoo that is easily my favorite among all the others.I can recommend Skin Deep Ink without a doubt that anyone would enjoy the same excellent experience that we did.

I went to Skin Deep to have Mark touch up a tattoo that Id had some problems with. Hes meticulous with his work and did an amazing job. The two hours I spent in the chair seemed like no time at all. Had a great experience at Skin Deep getting my first tattoo. The studio is very clean, and I felt good about being there from the moment I walked in to make my appointment. Mark and Tina are great business owners and run a clean and professional shop. I have had work done by both Mark and Jeff and have been extremely satisfied with all my work. Jeff took the time to rework a large back piece he started on me when I changed the idea mid tattoo. The result was an amazing piece that I get complements on all the time! The entire staff makes the experience relaxed and enjoyable regardless of its your first tattoo or 29th. Mark, Jeff, Tom and Joe make a great team.

I came back to Skin Deep Ink after Tom did a great job with my first tattoo on my ankle. My second tattoo was very detailed, containing small leaves on the tree of life. Tom did such an incredible job with this detailed tattoo, and it came out absolutely perfect. He does an amazing job with tattoos that contain lots of small details. I received a tattoo from Mark in September 2015 and have nothing but positive feedback to give. The shop was very clean and artists were all very friendly, humorous and professional. I was incredibly pleased with the turn out of my thigh piece done by Mark. I have several tattoos from other artists in CT and will only get future tattoos done by Mark. His talent and attention to detail is incredible. Highly recommend to anyone in the area.

I absolutely love Skin Deep. The facility is always clean and the people who work there are wonderful. Tom is currently working on my second tattoo with him and I cant imagine going anywhere else. I also recently brought my daughter (4 years old) in to have her ears pierced by Tina. Tina was fabulous and my daughter didnt even cry. This is a hard review for me to write because there is such a back story with it and I apologize now if its a bit long. About a year ago, I decided that I wanted to get a half sleeve but I was extremely hesitant on the idea because I had some issues with other tattoo shops. (Crooked tattoos, lines not connected, overall bad quality, fading, etc.) I knew I wanted to go to a reputable shop that had consistent rate of high quality tattoos. A friend of mine recommended this shop to me and I had researched it for about 6 months+ before I made my inquiry.After the inquiry, within 24 hours (if not sooner), I head from Joe Swider. Currently, we are still working on the tattoo but the quality of the work he has done has been amazing! He is very detail oriented and if he doesnt like something at the end he will not let you walk out with it. Hes literally had me sit back down in the chair before the end of one session to fix something that he didnt like.With the amount of time I have spent in the shop (6 sessions and counting/ 3+ hours at least every session) I have seen a lot of tattoos and every one that I have seen has been outstanding. Each artist has a different style but each executes it fully to his liking. Everyone is extremely friendly, polite and they will go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.If you are looking to get an amazing tattoo then I would recommend it to you like I have to others- you will not be disappointed!

I have had a few tattoos done by Mark @ Skin Deep and would never go anywhere else! Mark has an amazing attention to detail, gives his all to anything he pursues and his whole personality drips in a most unique sarcasm; making him hilarious! :)Even though I have not had the pleasure of having a tattoo done by the rest of the staff, I also love Jeff, Kang, Joe and Tom - all of whom Ive chatted with in the shop and have seen their work. I would highly recommend availing yourself to anyone from this shop for an awesome creation of body-art. ~ And for those looking to get a piercing, you will not find a more down-to-earth, affable woman than Tina; making her a pleasure to work with!

While Joe is a very talented artist, he unfortunately was very unprofessional. 2 consults and 5 appointments later I parted ways. The cxling of appts hours before appt, consistently late, breaks every 45min for 30 min, then expecting client to pay from original start time and all his breaks, overcharged on hourly rate, lack of respect for my time. Sitting in a shop for 6 hours for 3 hours of work is uncalled for and unprofessional. Speaking with the shop owners Mark Duhan and Tina Kirby who both openly admitted this has been an ongoing issue with Joe, disheartening to know they are aware of the issues but have chosen to let it continue happening. No client should have to go through this, its time, money and a clients body!!! Use a timer people!! You pay for time being inked not artist arriving late and taking multiple unnecessary breaks!! By far the most unprofessional shop in CT. More detailed documentation on social media.

My husband and I went to see Jeff for tattoos marking ours sons early passing. Obviously it was super emotional for us.Jeff did a beautiful job on both of us. Our tattoos are source of comfort and joy now thanks to Jeff.We are planning tattoo #2 now!It’s been 6 years since we got out tattoos from them and they still look good. We put sunscreen on them that has helped.

Joe did a fantastic job on my tattoo!A true artist! I sent a descriptive email including pictures of what style I wanted from each pic. His sketch was the perfect combination of what I wanted so I didnt even ask for any changes.Joe paid extra attention to the fine detail of the style I wanted, placement, etc.Skin deep is very sterile, very clean, very professional, very comfortable, very friendly... I would definetly recommend Joe/Skin deep ink and will be coming back in the future!

Skin Deep is a welcoming, professional and clean shop. I went to them for a piercing, and unlike ALL my previous experiences, the technique Skin Deep used was swelling-free and barely requires my attention.They also gave me a free assessment on a tattoo Id like covered. I have gone to Skin Deep Tattoo more than once for tattoos, and they exceeded my expectations both times. The place is very clean, the staff is very professional, yet very friendly, and I absolutely LOVE the tattoos I got there. I recently moved out of Connecticut to another state, but I will actually take the trip back to Skin Deep for my other tats I want. Thats how much I like them. I highly recommend them.

I came to skindeep to get a piece fixed that did not come out right at another shop. Mark took the time to review with me my ideas for a cover up and paired me up with Jeff Ash. Jeff worked on my idea and came up with a design and nailed the fix, looks awesome now. Ive since had two new pieces done by Jeff and they look amazing. My first, and only, tattoo is a flag/eagle concept. After much research, I chose the owner of this shop (Mark Duhan) for the quality of his work.Indeed, I made 2 trips from Washington D.C. specifically for this tattoo. Marks work gets compliments constantly; I am 100% satisfied. Actually, the final result was even better than I anticipated- check out his work on his web site.The shop was very clean and all his staff are friendly, with a comical camaraderie typically found amongst close friends and family. Which helps when you are getting tattooed for 8 hours.Dont take my word for it- do your own research. You will not find a better artist(s), nor shop.

My daughters nose piercing was done here after visiting many other places. This place smells like a thoroughly disinfected environment, and is a very clean shop. My daughters both returned to have daith piercings, it is said to relieve migraine issues.I have spoken to many and their tattoo reputations are extremely well liked. I have seen an in-person tattoo created from details described by the customer. It amazes me this art was created in the mind then on to skin. Check out their work. Tina is a great piercer!

I had tattoos done in my years fresh out of technical school. When I moved to Hawaii I had a couple more added. When I moved back to CT my BFF gave me a gift certificate for a new tattoo place. The owner was just becoming established in a storefront so I didnt know what to expect. What I found on my visits was a business that had friendly attentive staff and the tattoo and piercing areas as clean as a hospital. The owner and his wife were using top of the line equipment and inks. I was sold on the place very quickly as the owner was willing to take my strange ideas and making them happen beyond my expectation. I had gone to a convention for tattoo and piercing and ended up with three first place awards. Who would have thought that? I highly recommend Skin Deep Ink to anyone for their tattoo or piercing, whether its the first one or the tenth. So far as my business with Skin Deep Ink, I now have eighteen tattoos from them and I dont think Im done yet.

I found Joe a few years ago after a lot of research. I fell in love with his work and after I met up with him he did an amazing tattoo for me. Since then, Ive followed him to Skin Deep and asked him to do another. Hes an awesome artist whom I would highly recommend to anyone. I have been having the worst luck with tattoo shops....until I found Skin Deep. They are extremely friendly right from the start. Clean shop and wonderful staff. Mark was able to freehand fix a horrible tattoo that someone else did. and now I am proud to show it off. It healed extremely fast. I will never go any place else and have plans for more work and to hopefully have my older badly done tattoos fixed too. Dont go anywhere else before checking out Skin Deep. The work is worth every penny spent and more!

I went in on July 8, 2016. I wanted a specific kind of tattoo that would perfectly describe how felt turning 30 years old. My artist nailed it! He took his time, he was friendly and he worked with me on creating a piece that l was extremely satisfied with. To this day, his work is by far my favorite tattoo. I have another tattoo l have in mind, but Im waiting until my next visit to CT so l can get it done at skin ink! Amazing work by very talented artists. I highly recommend them!

The best tattoo shop Ive been in. Mark is very talented and willing to work with you to make sure your tattoo is exactly what you want. I have been using Skin Deep for 10 years. I have too many tattoos from them to count. 10 years of continuous work. I’ve always been super happy with each and every one of my tattoos. I moved to Texas 6 months ago but when I’m in CT in august I already have an appointment set up for two tattoos. I won’t go any where else but Skin Deep for bit piercing and tattoo needs.

I love this tattoo parlour. Although all the artists are incredibly talented, I use Joe Swider. Hes been amazing at the cover up hes been working on on me. Its my underbust, and although it hurts as ribs will, Joe is doing an amazing job making the process as painless as possible. He personally has his station set up away from the other artists, but happily put on a show for both of us while he worked. Not to mention, due to the size of what will be needed for the cover up, I gave Joe a lot of artistic freedom. Unlike many, he handled my loose direction superbly, yet is managing to create a piece that is amazing and fits me. Plus!! The care taken to center this piece was amazing!! Ive never had an artist so diligently space and measure in order to get their art perfect. On top of that, these people are very honest. I not only trust Joe to permanently ink my skin, but Im also confident I could ask him for artist suggestions and hed answer me with the artist who stylistically/design wise would be passionate about the piece Im describing. Though for now Ill likely stick with Joe for most of my work as his style is perfect for me

I really enjoyed my experience here getting my Daith peirced by Tina. She is so sweet, the shop is so clean, and i felt very confident and comfortable with Tina doing the piercing. I went elsewhere before coming here and was told i didnt have enough room, Tina saw absolutely no issues with the anatomy of my ear, was quick and *somewhat* painless. I can tell she did an excellent job because my piercing has not hurt/bothered me one bit, solid job. Thanks, Tina! See you around the neighborhood :)

Great place to go to! Especially for people with anxiety disorders! Everyone there is really kind and you feel at home within a hour. Usually Im afraid to go into places by myself, but this experience was great! Mark is amazing, especially when it comes to detail. He did a praying mantis for me and right away everyone can guess what species it is. Im so amazed at the colors and detail it looks real! The place is really clean and comfy. Very professional. Very likely to go back a few more times lmao

The staff went out of their way to fit in 2 grieving parents even though they were in the middle of moving to another location. We needed an artist who specialized in small, detailed tattoos and they did not disappoint. Our artist was very kind, professional, and extremely talented. 10/10 recommend to anyone.

Tina is lovely. Will chat you up about whatever you’re interested in to distract you from the pain of getting stabbed with a needle. Includes cleaning product with piercings because she doesn’t want anyone to skimp and get an infection, and will help you out afterwards if you have any issues. All my friends, past and present, go to her.10/10 do recommend.

Mark at Skin Deep is a true professional. After hearing about a recent tattoo from a former artist that I was not happy with Mark contacted me directly. I was asked to come in so he could see my tattoo. Mark graciously offered to fix my disgrace of a tattoo on his own time because he didn’t want me walking around with art that I was not pleased with. The end result is full of detail and amazing. To keep a long story short I am now proud to show off my ink and look forward to my next one very soon.

People always ask me where I got my sleeve worked on and I tell them Joe at Skin Deep Ink in New Milford and they say WoW tHaTs a HiKe (its only a 90 minute drive 🙄) and while I secretly judge their bad tattoos I say Its worth it for the quality!Seriously. Dont go somewhere because its cheap. You get what you pay for, and SDI is certainly no exception. They are all really cool, the studio is clean and inviting, and they all are incredibly talented. Make the trip, pay their rates, I promise its very much worth it!

John Kang did my very first tattoo after doing both of my daughter’s tattoos. I was so impressed, not only with his work, but his truly kind and caring nature. I absolutely love my tattoo and hope to go back again for more work in the future.

Ive gotten tattoos all over the world in different eras, when they werent popular to now, when there is a parlor on every corner.These people are conscientious professionals, their work is some of the best Ive seen.These guys and a gal have, without question, the most clean, relaxed place Ive ever been to.

Skin Deep is easily the cleanest shop Ive been in with THE most talented artists. The realistic art to the more abstract pieces, these guys can do it all. Im dying to go back, just gotta scrape together the cash first. All my future tattoos will be with Skin Deep.

Tina is the best piercer I know, I live in New York and will only come to this shop for my piercings, the atmosphere is outstandingly pleasant, and they’re all very professional. Tina is the best at what she does all my piercings she has done are perfect I won’t let anyone else do them!

I got my first tattoo here in 2016. It is still just as amazing as the first day I got it!! I love this place. Super clean, super professional. I would totally go back but I don’t live in the area anymore, but If I could I would!

Had a really nice piercing experience! The piercer was super friendly and offered several options for jewelry and placement to make sure I was happy with how the piercing would look before she did it. Will definitely come back here for my next piercing!

The staff is Always professional and personable, the shop is beautiful - bright and clean and open, which makes it a comfortable experience no matter if youre in for a quick thing or there for a few hours. Ive never had an unpleasant experience there for any reason and the prices are a steal for the quality of artwork youre getting.

Went there today after waiting three weeks and being told my design was ready and nothing was done on the design. He tried to give me the basic design I sent him. Put zero effort into make g it what I wanted.
