I was looking for a new tattoo artist after my last one disappeared on me. I was recommended this place. When I first walked in the door I felt the family owned atmosphere. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. After many sessions over the past year, my tattoo is complete. The quality of service was great. The artist there really take the time to capture the concept of the work you intend on doing and exceeded my expectations. I fully recommend everyone go check them out. Sara was awesome to work with.

Ive had a couple piercings done by Sarah, she was amazing. Ive also had 2 hand tattoos done by Walter. Both tattoos turned out so much nicer than I had pictured in my head. Hes an amazing artist. I highly recommend Walter and Castle of Color. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The shop is immaculate. Ill be back for more as we all know tattoos are addicting.

Could not recommend Corey enough, he was open to any suggestions I had and was extremely professional. He is also a phenomenal artist that rivals the best I have ever seen. Very proud to show people his skillful talent.

Brie (hope I spelled that right) did my daughter’s ear piercings and she was absolutely amazing. My daughter is only 9 and has been begging to get her ears pierced. I wanted them done by a professional and I’m so glad we got an appointment with Brie. She was so kind and patient with my nervous and excited kid. She took her time and explained every step. I highly recommend her and we will be going back to her for any future piercings! Also the shop was incredibly clean and well done!

This was my first time getting a tattoo. I had a great experience. My artist Cory was awesome. He was courteous and very polite. I will be back to see him in the future.

I had the best tattoo experience at Castle of Color. Sara Huser is an amazing artist. I chose Sara because of her portfolio online, and she did not fail to impress. Right off the bat, she was so cool and easy to communicate with. I provided a handful of pictures to her, and she listened carefully to all the details I wanted. I could tell the gears were turning as she transferred her interpretation of the pictures onto my arm. She put in a lot of effort into getting the placement of all the angles and details right despite not being familiar with the source material. Her eye for shading and 3D space is truly impressive. It was such a stark difference from my previous experiences at other places where the artists did not care to inject any of their personal style/talent into the work. I never felt like Sara was just trying to get it done and out of the way. I could tell she was planning the art and process out carefully as I worked with her. She worked hard to make sure what she was putting on me was truly what I wanted, all while demonstrating her expertise and ability to make the artwork her own at the same time. I really do appreciate that she took the time to work on an arm piece spread out over multiple sessions based on art that was not originally her own. She did such a great job staying faithful to the original artwork, but she also pleasantly surprised me with her own flourishes of style.This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a tattoo artist. On top of the fact that Sara was experienced and talented, she is above all very professional, patient, easy to communicate with, super positive, and dependable. The gentleman who took care of the appointments and payments was awesome too. They were both also very understanding and easy to work with when I got sick and had to reschedule my appointment, and any other time I had to schedule appointments. This is also a stark difference from other places I’ve been to that would give me a difficult time about scheduling. I would easily recommend this place to others. I will definitely be returning here to get any touch ups or additional work done.

I love this place. Working on a back piece and got some piercings done as well. Very professional artists and it’s super clean. When I go in it’s like I’m going to visit some old classmates. At first I was worried about pricing but there the best at what they do and pricing is amazing. I recommend them to everyone.

I have had many tattoos over the years. I am very particular about who I let work on me. I am also extremely particular about the cleanliness of place doing any kind of work. I give 5 stars because I am a repeat client & I can not say enough about the cleanliness as well as the professionalism I have experienced during each and every visit. Sara is PHENOMENAL! I gave her some crazy ideas combining elements of multiple different pictures and her design turned out even better than I could have imagined. The quality of her work is incomparable. Shes absolutely worth the drive from Lexington! All the staff and others there were extremely friendly and helpful.

I have been going to castle of color the past 8 years for piercings/tattoos and never had a single bad experience! Everyone is always so welcoming and I always walk away happy! Today I had 2 tattoos done by Walter and they are everything I hoped for! They will always have my business!

Just got my first tattoo at age 65! Walter made me feel very comfortable. I just had a small heart/dog paw done and was out in less than an hour. Shop was very clean and I was very pleased with the experience. I will be recommending Castle of Color and Walter to anyone wanting a tattoo.

I’ve been so hesitant to write this review just bc I know “things happen” or whatever. I came back in Nov/Dec 2022 to start on my sleeve tattoos. My second visit wasn’t so good as the first one, Walter did my tattoos & the second one is just complete trash. The more I look at it, the more mad I get about it. Tattoos are not cheap but the work I got was. My tatttoo is faded all around, missing lines…etc. he didn’t outline anything. I’m so disappointed !Edit to add: Sara reached out to me through text, said we could schedule an appointment for me to come in, I texted her back not once but twice to see what day worked best for her. Never received a text back. It’s been a year now since my tattoo 🙃

I am very particular about ink. Its a huge decision for me. Ive always had lots of people suggest Sara; quite a few friends who are wearing her art. I am now wearing her art and am so happy. I came in with my design, she executed it flawlessly. It was a difficult decision on whether I would use this design or something more basic. When she saw the design and got excited about it with me, it shows passion in her work. After completion, she is by far one of the best artists around here. All of her work looks great!The shop itself is always clean. The staff is super friendly. They treated us with respect and made us feel at home.Thanks to all of you!

Brad couldnt have been a better artist. His skills really are top notch, hes a wonderful conversationalist, and I felt comfortable in his studio. He keeps a super clean work space, always changing gloves and wiping things down. I came to him with a cover up request which he did free hand style and I am very happy with the results. Note: they dont have a lot of parking so be aware of this if youre going for group piercings or tattoos. *I will add a photo of my piece once its healed*

This tattoo and piercing establishment was a very chill and relaxed place. I felt like you could just have fun with your experience here. I was not the one receiving services, but observed some very talented folks with the skills to back it up. Very impressed with the artwork that my family and friends received here. I also felt special to be in the front row and be a part of their fun moment. Why not make tattooing a family event. Or just an event period, I was able to relax on the couch and still be a part of the experience with my family. It doesnt get better. Give this place a try you wont regret it!

Eddie Braley was a fabulous artist! This being my first sitting for a tattoo I was a bit nervous but Eddie put me at ease. He explained the process, had prepared some great design ideas for us to choose from and the art work came out amazing! Thanks Eddie! Highly recommend!

Very friendly and clean. I had to stop in and get a plastic nose ring for my daughter because she had to have a MRI. They were very helpful in helping us pick out what we needed because we werent totally sure what we needed and the cost wasnt expensive at all. The peicer even put the new jewelry in for my daughter because she couldnt get the other one out. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

Brie did all of the studs I have. I couldn’t say better things about her! She is patient and very nice! Everything is sterile and cleaned. I wouldn’t trust anyone besides Brie in the future to do my piercings. I got a little lightheaded between them and she was so chill, got me water and just talked to me for 5 minutes until I felt better to continue. Go to her if you are ever wanting a piercing!

They pierced my 16 year old and did an amazing job. She was happy, her pricing looks great, very little swelling or bruising. Over all she had a very good experience and that is all I could hope for as a parent.

The world needs more Corys. He is such a gentle kind soul and so helpful. He does amazing work! Im so happy with my tattoo.

Sara did an amazing job, my dad died in a motorcycle accident and I got a tattoo on his memory. And she did an amazing job!!!!!! I’m so happy I went to her, I will definitely being going back to her for all of my tattoos!!

This place is simply awesome. My wife has gotten a tattoo and several piercings done here. I have gotten 2 piercings done here and Sara is simply the best. She is the only one Ill go too. The employees here are great and friendly. If you have a question they have problem answering it for you. I would give this place 10 stars if I could.

Walter did my tattoo and I couldnt be happier. He was very chill and at one point I wasnt feeling well so he took a break got something for me cause I needed sugar and waited till I was good and got back to it and did an amazing piece for me. If and when I get another I will definitely come back because he did absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend

This place is fantastic! Super nice people, very clean and nice pricing. I was super impressed. One of my roommates got her first tattoo here, the artist was amazing, did exactly what she asked and it healed perfectly. Another got her belly button pierced and she loves it. I went back two weeks later (originally on a day they didnt have a piercer so I got $10 off which was amazing considering it was my fault I didnt look before going) and got two piercings and my experience was also amazing. He could tell I was nervous and was incredibly nice and explained every step. Super comfortable and welcoming environment and super fast. I 100% recommend Castle of Color for both tattoos and piercings.

I came into the shop after fighting with my angry industrial for nearly two weeks. While I did not get the industrial here initially they were able to give me sound advice that actually turned my miserable experience around.Before seeing the folks here I had tried; bactine, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, gold dial soap, and Neosporin for my piercing infection. I also was taking oral antibiotics.NOTHING touched this piercing. it was throbbing, oozing, and unbearable at times.It turns out COC knew exactly what I needed. They gave me a titanium bar as I had ordered a stainless steel off Amazon and they were almost certain that my jewelry had nickel in it.With the right products and jewelry and advice, my ear and piercing site is feeling and looking 100% better in just 24 hours! Thank you!!!

Everyone here was super friendly, & the shop looks great! Walter did my tattoo, and he did an amazing job. Super proud of this tattoo and Ill definetly be bringing all of my business to them.

I one million percent recommend them! I’ve had tons of piercings done but they by far are the most honest, straight forward place I’ve ever been. She spoke with me for 20 minutes about a new piercing I’ve never had done. I have dermals as well as tons of other piercings but I’ve never had an “Ashley” she took her time, was honest with me and I winded up getting the “Ashley” as well as another dermal. I love love love this place!

My first and second tattoo were both done here, 2007 & 2008. Both times the artist was extremely professional and detailed. If I needed a break they allowed one and made me feel very comfortable and important. Castle of color is amazing and if you’re not sure what kind of tattoos you want or the right placing for them the staff will guide you and help you along. Very impressed and recommend them for years now.

Stewart was awesome! He took an idea, with a few reference photos and made a perfect spooky tattoo. Now I can now keep Halloween with me all year around! Will definitely be going back! Everything was very clean, Artists were extremely friendly, and even as a walk in I was taken back almost immediately!

First, after experiencing a tragic event, although they were very busy with limited staff due to COVID19 guidelines, they were very accommodating and were able to find a time slot to fit me in. The date was very significant to the experience of my first (and most likely only tattoo at 37 years old).Secondly, the shop is super clean and Brad was very welcoming when I came in to explain my apprehension and the need for someone super patient. Not only am I a wuss, but Im terrified of needles.Thirdly, Stewart NAILED IT! I spent hours designing exactly what I wanted to every detail. All single thing line work for the most part. He replicated it perfectly and his lines were as close to perfect as the human hand can get. He made me feel comfortable from the get go with his sarcasm and jokes. It was the experience I never thought Id have but exactly what I needed. I am not only very pleased with the tattoo but also the experience overall. If I were to ever get another one, Castle of Color and Steward absolutely will have my business.

I definitely recommend Brad!Ive had a lot of experience with tattoo artists that either dont care or are elitist (in fact, I ended up here for a coverup), but Castle of Color is one of the two parlors that Id return to. Brad cares about giving you a tattoo that looks good. If a design isnt going to translate well to a tattoo, he will let you know and work with you to get something that will look and age well, but he also wont talk down to you about it. The prices for the work youre getting done is beyond fair as well. Ive been to several parlors in Lexington and I think youd be hard pressed to find anywhere that will get you as much value for your money.Brad definitely took a tattoo that made me miserable and made it into a conversation piece thats boosted my confidence!

I have had many of my tattoos done at castle of color. I have always been pleased with them. I just got one of my dads signature and kaylie did it. She was absolutely amazing!! I had my friend and our children with us and she was so patient and kind. Not to mention my tattoo looks great ! It is by far the best one I have !!!

Fun environment!! I went late on a Friday and they had music going, they were busy, (which is good) and offered very fast service! I had a nose piercing done and it didnt hurt at all... literally, not even a little bit. This is because the staff knows what they are doing! With the piercing, the jewelry and aftercare is included in the price!

I cant speak for the tattoos because I havent gotten one yet, but I wouldnt go anywhere else in town for piercings. Mikey does an incredible job and the shop is kept clean. I was really nervous about my first cartilage piercings but they didnt hurt at all. Ill definitely be back.

Im only 15 so my mom called them and asked them what all I needed to get my piercing and they answered both times and were sure sweet! So I went and got my bottom lip pierced and the girl I got was amazing! She was so sweet, she couldnt get the ball on my lip ring at first and she kept checking on me to make sure I was okay! Super sweet and also a reasonable price! Im going back Sunday to get my nose pierced!

Horrible place. Good luck having anyone call you back. Customer service is horrible. My first sketches were never completed, I had to stop in to see them. Waited in the front for half an hour while the sketches looked like they had just been done. Before coming back the following week to review completed sketches, I called to confirm. No one called me back after promising to return my call. Called a total of 5 times to check status before driving 1.5 hours. No one returned my calls, and I spoke to a real person.If you have an important tattoo, like comemorating your daughters memory, I would seriously consider going somewhere else.One of the artists hit my car, and they gave me a gift card. Now that I canceled my appointment they wont let me transfer the gift card to someone else. Said they had 5 or 6 hours in sketches. The only sketches Ive seen looked like they were done in 5 minutes.Now Im stuck with a scratched car, a useless gift card, and no tattoo. And Ive had to deal with rude people like Katie.

I havent been in quite some time. My last visit before they changed the name of the place, was back in the early 90s. I got my eyebrow pierced and it eventually fell out about 2 years later. The metal ate through my skin somehow drying it out without my knowledge. I was watching tv and something fell into my lap. It was the eyebrow, same one they used. I never changed it.

This place is amazing I got my daith piercing and mike was amazing . everyone is no amazing u have the friendly and amazing astomphere.my husband gets his tattoos there too. I will definitely be back there hopefully getting my first tattoomike done my husband tattoos

My second tattoo by them! And more than pleased and satisfied. Service is always amazing very friendly atmosphere. Lost my granddaughter in February and wanted a portrait done of her. Nervous about the outcome but Stewart did an amazing job. Today is May13th and Im changing my rating. Simply because today I call to see if my guy Stewart had a time he could get me in to finish my tattoo. Girl that took my call said looks like around 6. So I asked if I could lock that time in. She said no same day appointments that I could come in. So I do so but when I get there at 6 she tells me that it will be a while longer that someone had come in before me. Ok?? She offered to take my name and number and would call when something opened up. Now Im confused??? Why did she not do that when I call instead of having me drive 30 min out there for nothing. Poor service. Dont think I will be back!

I got a nose piercing and a small wrist tattoo in the same day. I believe Sarah was the name of my piercer, she was awesome and gave me everything I needed for the healing process, along with explaining them. I dont remember the name of the man who did my tattoo, but he had long brown hair, and had action figures of horror characters in his room. He did just fine on my tattoo, but when he was finished, he handed me the cream and walked out without saying anything. I had to get his attention to ask how often I wash it. He didnt give me any information on the healing process, I basically left with no idea of how to care for my tattoo. Luckily I have 2 others so I had some idea of what to do, but it was rude and I didnt appreciate it. I would happily return for another piercing, but never again for my tattoo.

I have been coming here to get tattooed by Mikie King for years and I have to say, he takes your ideas and molds them todo exactly what you want! I will never go anywhere else!!!

Great place! Everything was very clean and well lit when we came in. I was able to walk in and get a nose piercing all in about 30 minutes. Staff was nice and helpful and my piercer was very fast and explained everything to me, barely hurt at all. Prices are good too.

I have newer Daith piercings and one of the retainers I needed for an MRI came out. I couldnt risk letting it close back up. Even though their piercer was in the middle of a tattoo she worked me in on a break. Professional and clean.Thanks so much!

The staff is friendly and prices are affordable. I have not yet recieced work from one of the artists, however I have been inside and ive spoken on the phone with one of the staff members. I love the feeling that immediately rushes over when I walk through the door. Absolutely cannot wait to get some ink ♡

Castle of Color is my “ go to” shop for piercings and tatts. Always friendly and helpful. I’ve gotten 5 out of 7 tattoos and 3 piercings at Castle of Color. Recently “ Walter” has done my husbands and mine tattoo’s and they are brilliant! Awesome detail and just beautiful art! I would recommend my friends and family to get their body art there!

Moved to Lexington back in July and wanted some new ink. Found them online and went in as a walk in Had a beautiful script tattoo done and Im going back on 8/14 for a new butterfly. This is a great place, positive atmosphere and friendly tattoo artists.

They offer snake eyes (tongue piercing) which is extremely dangerous but they don’t offer venom (double tongue horizontal piercings) which is done many times by other reputable shops. They could be decent for tattoos but I wouldn’t trust their piercing knowledge

My experience was beyond perfect!!!! my nose piercing was exactly where i wanted it to be. customer service was amazing and they’re always making sure what you want is 100% clear. best place to get tattoos and piercings

Ive gotten 2 tats from there and even after 5 yrs on one and 3 yrs on the other the ink looks as good as it did the day I got them and they customized the one of my sons headstone for me... Really pleased

I called a week In advance to get my tongue pierced and asked if a piercer would be on duty that day . The guy on the phone said yes well I go in today and they said that there are no piercers in today. I am displeased as it is my birthday and now I cant even get it done . Never had a problem before mike is always nice and so is the girl with black hair but Im kinda upset I dont get my tongue pierced for my birthday ....

Came for my wifes birthday to get matching tattoos. Told the artist what we wanted. Roughly an hour later and we were walking out with exactly what we wanted!

I will never go back to this place. I called before to talk with an artist about a tattoo and was told I had to come in. I drove 30 mins to get there. As I was walking in I noticed a guy sitting outside smoking no big deal. I went to the front and was told to wait he was drawing up tattoos for another couple which was sitting over there waiting. I went and got a chair and the guy outside came in and went to the back and returned 2 mins with a drawing for the couple that was not what they asked for (monogram) they asked him to change it but he started cussing saying he isnt a magician. Wow Just Wow. They left mad telling me they were going somewhere else. I figured he would come to me next introduce himself and talk with me about my tattoo. Nope, I wait for another 15 mins before I went back to front and asked who was helping me. The same guy was cussing and mad over the couple told me I didnt need help he was just gonna print a stencil and slap it on me. Hell no you aint told him thanks for the time I wasted and I left. I was told my a friend about this place and I was very disappointed. Will NEVER recommend this place.

I always go here to get my piercings! This time that I went I got a dermal on my neck! The only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars is because my appt time was for 3pm and I didn’t end up getting seen till 3:45...other than that the piercer did a great job and I walked out a satisfied customer!

Sarah is amazing! She is the only person I let tatoo me! Very clean establishment. You can trust this place with your tats and piercings.

Not to long ago on my eighteenth birthday, I got my first tattoo done on my wrist by Sara Huser. She was a very gentle lady, kind and flexible with my needs and she is the one you should see if you are planning to go to the Castle of Color to get some work done! I was recommended to Sara by a cousin of mine, who does not let anyone else ink her up besides Sara so I trusted her and made an appointment with her. I can definitely see why my cousin, Teira loves Sara and Im glad Sara had the honor on my first tattoo experience. Ill for sure, be back for my next tattoo design (that Im planning to get now) and to keep returning to Sara for other future tattoos. I also recommend if this is your first time coming to this shop (Castle of Color) or your first tattoo experience, to make an appointment with Sara Huser.

Got my helix done today and the guy that did my piercing was very nice even when he had to redo the marking several times. Over all I was in and out very quickly and it was a good process

I Just got my nose pierced there!! The guys there were very friendly & the place was cleaner than i expected!! It was a great experience! Although i can say they were kinda expensive but they did a good job!

Love Castle of Color! Got a full sleeve done by Jose over the course of a year and got my ears pierced by Russel. Everyone is more than happy to help, and will go out of their way to make sure everything is just right. Ive got more skin to cover and wouldnt go anywhere else.

They have done 11 out of my 12 tattoos including a half sleeve. Also have gotten 6 piercings done with them. Im happy with everything I have gotten done and will continue to be a repeat customer.

Mike did a tattoo of a deer I wanted today and did an amazing job! I absolutely love it and he made it a very good experience and was very professional and it was very reasonably priced! Highly Recommend❤️

Got my apadravya done by Sara while her apprentice observed, both where very professional and an enjoyment to talk to, piercing went great and feels way better than the first time I had it done, the rest of the staff was friendly and light hearted, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the shop while I waited for my piercing, I will be going back when I decide to get a new piercing or tattoo.

Got my tattoo done here loved it!! I was a walkin and they had me in and out in about 30 mins. Clean place and great people!! Definitely recommend this place for tatttoo or piercing.

Just got my first ear piercing from these guy. My piercer Mike was very friendly and informative. Piercing was done before I knew it. Pain? Where? Lol 😂

I sent 2 emails to them trying to set up an appointment to talk about my tattoo design I want. They never contacted me back and the guy on the phone said just to keep emailing them.

I love everyone there. Ive had all my tattoos and piercings done with them and I will never go anywhere else. Never been dissapointed by them.

Waste of time. Called ahead.. they dont take appointments. But they have appointments booked. Can take your number? Im going to waste my day sitting around or drive 2hrs each way... I dont think so... used to like them here but they are now a wasted location. Will never return or reccomend ANYONE to go there.

They were made perfectly aware that I was coming from 45 min away didn’t have the curtesy to tell me it would be 2 hour wait. And would not listen to what I wanted in a tattoo.
