My sister and I had a wonderful experience at express yourself in Novi. This was our first piercing and Morgan really made sure that we were completely comfortable and that all of our questions and concerns were answered. I highly recommend this facility. It was extremely clean. Lots of jewelry to choose from and a GREAT staff. Thank you express yourself Novi for the great experience.

Brooke is THE BEST. Actually every single one of the people I’ve encountered here are great but my bestie, daughter and I do always make sure Brooke is there before we come in because we love her❤️❤️ Collectively we have gotten nearly 20 piercings over the last 2 years. We have sensitive skin so we do tend to go for the gold. But they have great options in jewelry ranging in price, they are extremely sanitary and again so nice and PATIENT!

I had the greatest piercing experience of my life today!Ive gotten my ear lobes pierced and my septum and my experience with my sperum piercing was awful. (I got it done by another company)I was at their Novi location today in Twelve Oaks Mall and Ace pierced my conch. I felt so comfortable and Ace is so kind. I barely felt a thing and so far the healing has been great!! The whole time, I felt heard and validated, and in the end, I got a great piercing!!If youre at all questioning whether or not to go, dont even think again- just go. Its so great how they run their business and treat their customers well. 100% recommend. :)

Just got my nose pierced by Ace today and it was legitimately the absolute best pricing experience I have ever had, and Ive had quite a few piercings. Everything was super clean, organized, and Ace explained every single thing he was doing the whole time even though Ive got lots of other piercings which I appreciated so much. He also included my boyfriend. So nice. Will definitely be going back here exclusively from now on.

My daughter and I had a great time getting our piercings done here by Ace! He was very knowledgeable and helpful in preparing us, and did a great job technically with placement, all the while we used breathing techniques to make these piercings feel like practically nothing. Not a flinch.

Wanted to get my ears done. Lobes and cartilage. Found this place at the mall and after looking at the reviews I decided to take a chance. The store is beautiful and clean and inviting, warm, and friendly. Was greeted right away and they were busy at the time. Ace was wondering! Made sure I understood post care instructions and even helped picked to jewelry to fit symmetrical along with my other piercings. I couldn’t be more happier. The process was painless and quick. I walked in today (6/7/24, around 1:00pm-1:15pm) wanting two lobe piercings, and was browsing the jewelry collection. I was waiting for a while before anyone even came to the counter— the teenage/early 20’s girl was very dismissive when I asked her about pricing and was acting like I just murdered her dog. I didn’t catch her name but I would not be comfortable with her piercing my ears.Speaking of pricing, the jewelry is extremely expensive— I was informed studs START at $75. The piercing (for both lobes) is $60. Yes I understand they claim to do things the correct way here, (which understandably jacks up the price) but the jewelry portion is simply too expensive. It should not be that hard to provide more affordable yet quality jewelry options.I wanted to get my ears pierced here because of how they use needles as opposed to piercing guns (and because of the good reviews— which I don’t understand— I definitely didn’t feel comfortable or welcomed as I walked in), but eventually ended up going to Claire’s upstairs. Total was $73 for piercing, solution, studs, extra pair of hoops and tax. Hopefully I won’t get an infection from the piercing guns they used. :/ :/ I would have liked to leave a positive review.

Ive wanted a dahlia piercing for ages, but my regular piercer doesnt offer them. In calling around I landed on this place, and lets just say I was super impressed. From the fact the Brooke took the time to basically quiz me about if this piercing was right for me (that sounds weird but honestly is a great indicator of a solid awesome piercer) to how amazing and thorough she was....I will definitely add her to my short list of recommended piercers!Plus her energy is just off the charts wonderful!

I have went here for almost all of my stuff (save for 1 of my 6 piercings) and while they can get pricey its worth it for the high quality jewelry and promise of sterile procedures and thorough explanations of aftercare! ive always been treated well and with awesome service going here

I had Morgan change out 2 of my piercings with new jewelry and had her do a piercing as well. She was AMAZING! She kept me inform about all the different jewelry, piercing care, and much more! She was great and helped me feel comfortable!

I came here for a body piercing a couple of weeks ago and was pierced by both morgan and brooke. both were very knowledgable and made me feel very safe about the environment and competent about my own aftercare. they also personalized a septum ring for me to use at work which was SO helpful. their prices are great for the services they provide, and i recommended this place to everyone at my work.edited my review to four stars because now that my nipple piercings have healed, they are totally not parallel to each other. im sort of frustrated because it is noticeable and my only solution is to get it repierced, so im just going to ignore it probably. i still love my new piercings.

We visited express yourself on two different occasions for my two daughters. Morgan and Brooke were both amazing and helpful. They were very clear with instructions and what to expect. We were all very impressed with the cleanliness of the business and how both employees went above and beyond to help us! Would absolutely recommend.

This was my first piercing that was not on my ears so I was nervous but Brooke was very helpful, explaining everything and keeping me calm throughout the process and I can’t thank her enough.It’s inside a mall so I was a little skeptical but it’s not intimidating like some gaudy tattoo shops so I liked that welcoming vibe.I also appreciate that they are walk in only, first come first serve because my nostril pierce was kind of a spontaneous decision. The price is about the same as other piercing places in the area but no discounts if you get one or two at the same time.The process was quick, no pain, not much wait and the place was clean.I think they have a lot to choose from, compared to other places too. They have titanium, solid golds and even genuine diamonds.I can’t wait to go back to get another one sometime soon!

Brighten and Brooke were both professional and efficient! My daughter has an industrial piercing and was looking for a replacement bar. She was indecisive and Brooke helped to decide on which was the best for her ear size.I decided while we were there that I wanted a 3rd set on my lobes, Brighten was great to talk with, keeping me distracted while piercing. I hardly felt a thing!We will be coming back soon, as we both would like a helix piercing next!

My husband purchased me some jewelry for Christmas. He was told I could come in any time and have my nose piercing changed for only $5. When we came in 2 months later, we were greeted in a super friendly and professional way. It was extremely busy, but not only was the owner so kind but his wife was equally pleasant and professional. My friends and I got pierced here by Brooke as walk-ins. She was very informative and comforting the whole time.I got my eyebrow pierced! Piercing itself was quick and pain level was about 3/10. All 3 of us got pierced and probably spent no more than 30 min there. Would come back :)

There’s a reason this place has 5 stars. Brooke and Megan are awesome. I have a lot of piercings, been getting pierced for years. This is by far the best experience I’ve had. They are very kind and friendly, professional, the whole store is cute in general. They were really patient with me. I had an incident where my jewelry got stuck inside of my nose, had to go in and get it taken out. It was extremely painful and long process, but they were so nice the entire time. Also, don’t be afraid to contact them after you leave! They’re available to help you and will make time for you to make sure you have the best experience. Even tho my piercings hurt more than stepping on legos x10, I still had a great time and am definitely coming back!

This was my third trip in and it will not be my last! Brooke always does an amazing consult with pros and cons of each piercing and piece of jewelry. She made great suggestions when I had my conch done and I love how it turned out! I am always impressed with how serious they all are with cleanliness. They wash their hands, sterilize the jewelry and use sterilized tools everytime. Everyone Ive talked to there is super friendly and welcoming. First I want to start by saying my piercer Marina was very nice and welcoming, with that being said I came here for a septum!! I had it done before but my last piercer (Sacred Heart Tattoos) didn’t pierce it correctly and ended up going straight through the cartilage, So I was very scared to have it redone by someone else but Marina knew exactly what she was doing and her advice she gave me was really helpful :) I recommend going here for any piercing

Brooke did my septum a couple months ago and she was so sweet & fast!

I got 3 piercings from here and all of them have keloids. They never told me to downsize and when I went in multiple times they told me it was an irritation bump however this wasn’t the case. They let me know to go to a dermatologist when it was too late and now I have huge red keloids behind all 3 of them. I would of took them out right away if I knew.

I went here to get my lobes and nose pierced. I’ve had thirteen different piercings, all of them did not heal properly and i was left with a lot of scar tissue since they were all done with a gun. Years later i decided to try again and do it properly, and found this place. they are extremely clean, very very welcoming and the best part, knowledgeable, especially Ne. They knew a lot about re-piercing with scar tissue and i was comforted greatly. I’m extremely happy with my piercings, and i have a good feeling that this time they will stick. I cannot recommend this place enough! ◡̈edit! 7 months later, all three of my newer piercings are doing great! i can’t believe i still have them. the jewelry they carry are awesome for super sensitive skin.

Ne helped me and my 9 year old daughter today. My daughter got her ears pierced in Florida last week and already lost part of the earring. Ne helped us choose a new pair and replaced the older earrings with no issue. She answered all of my daughters questions, kept her calm and was so knowledgeable. I heard about this new piercing shop in Twelve Oaks and wanted to go check it out for two ear piercings that I’ve been wanting. Brooke showed me all of the different types of studs and helped me pick out the best kind for what I was getting. This is the best experience I’ve ever had at a piercing shop, I instantly felt comfortable and was taken care of! (Plus, they use a needle— which is how piercings should ALWAYS be done!!!)

If you’re unsure of where to go for your piercing needs and you’re googling your options, stop here! I went for multiple ear piercings and will be returning for my future additional piercings. Ace was my piercing tech and he provided a very calm and cool environment. He’ll give his expert opinion to you straight and delivers perfection. This place is suitable for children and I’d recommend it over Claire’s as the space is more accommodating for a clean, private, and safe experience. Patience is recommended, you may have to a wait a bit if it’s busy but that’s because the staff take their time with each individual as to ensure a quality, satisfactory, and safe experience for everyone.

We changed my jewelry in my conch, left nostril and got a new right nostril! they were the sweetest people and convinced my friend to get her nose piercing and was super sweet! brooke did an amazing job explaining every step and made me really comfortable! she explained prices and made everything very comfortable and understandable!!!

Went to this gem and got my nose and lip pierced. The piercers are super knowledgeable and very helpful! Ace and Brooklyn recommended a horseshoe ring for my lip piercing and I can say its a night and day difference compared to the first time i got my lip elsewhere with a straight bar. My two friends and I came in during one of the busiest times at the mall. There was nobody there and we were patiently helped by Brooke and guided through nose and ear piercings between the three of us. 10 out of 10I had a very good experience here, I went and got my nips pierced. It was a very nice and clean spot. Ace was my piercer and he was 100% outgoing and nice and very attentive, explained everything to me, talked to me about after care and everything. He was definitely patient with me because I went in to get my nips done, but when I got there I wanted to back out and get a different piercing, so I asked him prices for other piercings I wanted, but after all that I just ended up sticking with my nips lol. His energy actually helped me to remain calm and keep my breathing right. He was just a very great piercer. I would definitely go back to get more piercings or get a new dermal done. I took my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced - my sister came too for a piercing - and it was a great experience! Everyone was SO friendly and professional. Ne (Courtney) pierced my daughter’s ears and did an AMAZING job of explaining what would happen, both to me and in “kid terms” to my daughter. She was so kind and reassuring, which made a huge difference for my daughter who tends to get anxious. Her ears are now healing perfectly and I’m so glad I chose a place that did needle piercing vs piercing gun. One tip: if you take a child make sure to bring their birth certificate AND a photo ID for your kid.I forgot that 6 year olds need IDs too. learn from my mistake! :)

Got my doubles done recently and service was good, had no problem with that. however, employee didn’t know how to be clear with her communication of pricing. i was told piercing is $50, the titanium jewelry i picked was $20, then the spray was $16.99, that would only put me around $90 after tax. i was charged around $120 (didn’t even have a tip on the bill). receipt showed i paid for two fronts and two back pieces, each $14.99, that put me at jewelry costing almost $60?!! what a lie. showed a small discount on the jewelry but still shouldn’t have been charged more than i was told. and if that’s how the business is ran then the employees need to learn how to communicate that with the customers. don’t tell me $20 for starting jewelry if it’s actually going to cost me almost $60. what a ripoff.

Got my very first facial piercing, nostril. Came her and had a WONDERFUL time! Went in feeling very welcomed and comfortable. I’ve had my nostrils pierced like 8 times before, never with any luck until today. Ace double pierced my nose and I barely felt a thing. Im confident which his instructions on aftercare I will heal perfectly and definitely be back to him for more! He was also a goofball so it was a fun 🥹🥹🥹 10/10

I had my doubles and triples pierced by Ne. She was so professional and sweet. The aftercare instructions were very clear. I was nervous to get 4 piercings done at once, but Ne talked me through the whole thing and I barely felt the piercing.

Ive had a few piercings from Express Yourself in Novi done a few different times. 1st, 2nd lobes, daith tragus, conch and rook. Ive had a good experience with all my piercings. The workers and friendly and helpful. Ne has done the majority of mine, but Brooke did two of them as well.The environment relaxed and they have a nice selection of jewelry.

Got my helix pierced here by Nicole and couldn’t be happier! She explained the whole process to me very clearly and gave me the details on how to take care of the piercing after. Ace was my piercer and honestly it was a really nice experience! He made me feel very comfortable and it didnt hurt at all. If your thinking about going but think it’s too shady it’s not. I don’t regret going here at all and will be coming back.

By the way, this is located by Sears!!Wow!! I was scared to go to the mall for another piercing (I went to Claires before and yuck!), but this place was awesome! It had an authentic, tattoo parlor feel, was clean, and super professional. The staff were nice and helpful! I am super happy with my piercings. I was even able to get 14k gold for my sensitive ears :-) It didnt even hurt! I got my second piercing here and would come back!! I will definitely recommend this place.

This place is great. I got my last piercing in East Lansing (I used to go to MSU) and Ive been reluctant to get a new piercing because theres so much that goes into a good piercing. I was worried about cleanliness, whether the piercings would be even (I got my third lobe piercing), etc.I ended up deciding to go here and it was great! It was $50 for both lobes with jewelry included which I think is a great price. He was clean, it was super fast, he was nice, etc.

I initially had a less-than-stellar experience when I got my nose pierced here. However, with that employee no longer working there and good management, things have turned around. They seem genuinely interested in helping me and providing helpful advice in case of any future infection. All I wanted was some clear guidance on what to do in case of an issue. Unfortunately, the previous employee, who is no longer with the company, provided no advice over the phone, suggesting that I should just see a doctor if I suspected a problem. As a first-time nose piercing recipient with no previous experience with piercings, I was looking for just vague, “how do I take care of this” advice. Not which antibiotic cream I should send to the pharmacy…

6 weeks after nostril piercing my jewelry fell out. I wad scheduled to go back in a week to get it repierced for free. So I went back was told wait 2 weeks for it to heal. Made a new appointment was stood up, no one called back or anything after 2 calls and a text. Was rescheduled for today. Now they are saying they cant do it for free. WHAT A RIP OFF!!

I had a terrible experience between broken jewelry, improperly closed jewelry that left me ear irritated and bleeding, having to get the situation resolved at a local piercing shop as I live over an hour away, and only offered $20 store credit. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone for piercings.
