About a year ago, I stumbled into the shop as a walk-in and became a customer for life.I’ve had over 10 tattoos done by their apprentice, Shelby. The photos speak for themselves. She’s amazing and even won first place at the Cherry Hill Tattoo Convention for medium black/gray. I’m obsessed with every piece she’s done. She’s also tattooed several of my friends and relatives.Their piecer, Taylor, is also super knowledgeable and talented. I’ve gotten 8+ piercings from her. She’s actually the first person I met when my sister and I walked in for some nose piercings.I’ve had a great experience with everyone at the shop— from the owner, Jess, to girls at the front desk. Everyone is super approachable and accommodating.If you are looking for quality work and good vibes, check this place out!

I have enjoyed every single time Ive visited. I have felt so comfortable. As an LGBTQ+ person Ive never felt any negative vibes. The staff is super friendly, and the shop takes their service very seriously.I show up at my allotted time (maybe 10 mins early cause theres always paperwork). I get all signed in. The person running the desk is usually pretty busy. They seem to get a lot of calls and bookings when the shop is full of artists and folks. When its my turn I get escorted back to the artist or they come and get me in the cute little waiting area.Theres clearly a lot of time taken to keep the shop clean here. Ive seen so many single use sanitary needles and paper towels among other things. Everything gets wiped down before I get going.The artists do a good job of making sure you are ready and super happy with the sizing and placing. One of my tattoos I actually asked to be moved three or four times and I felt like a butt but the artist was super chill about it. I am not the person to send back a restaurant dish if its wrong and it took some practice to tell artists to resize or relocate an outline.During the tattooing process I get asked a good number of times if Im comfortable or if I need to stand up and shake it out. They do have water and snacks if you forget, but you should always eat!I will always return to this shop. Its a third-place for me for sure. I always feel like family.

Extremely clean and well mannered shop.i’m always greeted immediately as soon as I walk in, which is a plus because some tattoo shops tend to make you wait. ive gotten 6 tattoos done by shelby throughout the year and just went back this past Saturday for my 7th! what ive found most impressive is that shelby hand drew the stencil in the last picture i posted. ive never had an issue with any of them healing. they all look the same as the day i got them, no fading/no fallout. 10/10 would recommend hocus pocus for any tattoos or piercings!

This place looked great, when I saw the reviews and made me want to check it out. However, the reviews are nothing like it states. I went there for a consultation and no one was at the front for customer service. We were there for 10 minutes and no one approached to the front for assistance until 10 minutes later just to tell us you have to book online and hand us a card. To then 4 days before my appointment you call to cancel. Therefore was the customer not supposed to be a little upset? The Customer stated I hope I do not get charged on my credit card for something that was not my fault and I do not want to do business with you guys any more to further get a text message that my message was disturbed ? and you”Quote” You run a business with an energy match energy? Type of business mentality is this? No thank you! My money is better spent somewhere else!

Had a great tattoo session with Shelby tonight! Not only did she do amazing work, her chair side manner is just beyond words. Made me feel so comfortable, like I’ve known her for years, overall amazing experience. Highly recommend!

I was originally suppose to get my kneck tattooed by my regular tattoo artist, but he had to cancel last minute. So I decided to go to Hocus Pocus because Ive been there once before. I wanted to get something done because it was my year of sobriety date and I wanted it to be special. I had a small back piece done by Tracey, she was very professional, sweet, and did a great job. They responded through IG also promptly and got me in last minute.

I brought my girlfriend to Hocus Pocus for her first tattoo. Her supervisor at her job had gotten a lot of work done there and she liked what they did for him. Her tattoo artist Ricky went over what she wanted, left the room for a short time and sketched it up. It was exactly what she wanted. He did a fantastic job, had a great personality, and his prices were excellent. Everyone else at Hocus Pocus were warm and welcoming. I highly recommend them for your next tattoo or piercing.

Waited outside for almost 40 minutes even with being there past noon. Gave a quick description of what I wanted. Was told they might have time today we might call you back. Go online book and appointment if we do not call. Was not told what kind of time I should book or even an idea of price. I honestly felt like I was being punished for being a walk-in. Like I was bothering the woman I talked to and annoying her for being there.Edit (to reply): Why would I want to come in and give you my money now? When I wanted to you made me feel like I was wrong for being a walk-in and not having an appointment. I already gave a description to the woman who was very annoyed by my mere presence. They could not be bothered to give me a time frame or price so who is going to reply to an email? They threw a card at me and said here make an appointment. I am very disappointed as my wife highly recommended you she had work done there. My daughter got her ears pierced there. Now neither one of us is recommending you to anyone we know.

My girlfriend and I went to Hocus Pocus for our first time tonight, and got matching tarot card tattoos by the apprentice Shelby. Not only did she do an amazing job on both of our tattoos, but she was incredibly down to earth, and my girlfriend and I had an awesome conversation while sitting in her chair. A+ experience with Shelby, and highly recommend her. I have no doubt that she will have a very bright future in this industry.

The Hocus team is so friendly and patient. Their artists care about the work and actually want to work with you to get what you’re looking for. Everyone is really helpful!

Clean place. Went for a consultation for a cover-up w/Ricky. He makes u feel relaxed and explains in detail. Cant wait to get my cover-up done!! ;)

Brent gave me and my brother our first tattoos. He was extremely professional, laid back, and clearly did amazing work. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop, and I will definitely be going back when I’m ready for my next tattoo 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Taylor was fantastic! I got 3 piercings (lobes) and wasnt sure what to expect. She was welcoming, cheerful, and very knowledgeable about the procedure. She answered all of my questions, including some about nose and flat helix piercings. After Im fully healed from these 3, Ill be back for more. I highly recommend Hocus Pocus!

Been tattooed by both Ricky (both text tattoos) and Tracey (beautiful custom memorial piece which always gets compliments). Cannot recommend them enough! Going back in October.

Shelby is an amazing artist. My husband and I went to get matching tattoos for our 10th wedding anniversary. She did a superb job. Totally recommend Shelby. The rest of the staff was also very personable.

I can’t say enough good things about both Hocus Pocus and Ricky Rivera (who did my tattoo). This is a clean and very friendly shop with a great vibe (even their pens are cool haha). I walked in and was greeted in a friendly manner immediately. I was then easily walked through their appointment process (very easy) and was able to book a two-hour session with Ricky. Ricky is an incredible dude. This was my first tattoo (with him) and I’m already thinking of others. He had something well-prepared and unique ready to go, after I texted him some background and parameters, on what I wanted done. Then, I gave him tons of creative leeway(as I recommend doing-because he came up with something perfect) and he knocked it out of the park. I chose to do exactly what he had prepared, when I showed up to my appointment. It healed excellent, gets compliments all the time, and is very meaningful to me. I’ve had ink done before. Let me tell you, Ricky knows his craft. He is quick (but careful), extremely honest, is fascinating to talk with, and is just an amazing artist. It was an honor, to have him tattoo me. Thanks Mr. Rivera!!! You are the man, keep up the good work.

This was my first time here and I had a great experience here today!!! Loved the interior right off the bat. Just got an industrial, pierced by Taylor. I cant even express how amazing she was!!! Very informative, open for questions and loved her positive, outgoing personality. Definitely will be coming back!!

I accompanied a dear friend for her nose piercing. The staff was very friendly and informative. She made my friend super comfortable and talked her through the entire process. She said, “It didn’t even hurt!” She truly enjoyed the experience and said she will return.

I Was here recently for a tattoo. Its just something a bout a clean shop to make you feel comfortable! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable!I never felt intimidated by the artist, nor did i second guess how my tattoo will turn out!!The artist here are extremely talented. During my session the artist kept me in the know of whats being done. Gave me proper aftercare instructions. Whenever my friends ask if i know a shop i will always recommend this place!!!

I had both my tattoos here. Its so cozy and everyone is so friendly. My tattoo and my partners where very different styles but the artist did an amazing job. He was also do patient while I cried thru the pain. Worth every moment

Good place to go for a quality tattoo at a good price, specifically from Scott. Hes great with animated work, and my tattoos from him (since I have multiple now) have gotten me many compliments from friends and even at cons. He even stayed late to make sure the tat was completely done since he knew I drove in from a little over an hour away. Good guy, and I like the shop set up a lot.

Scott is one of the most professional tattoo artists Ive ever gotten work from. Clean environment, fantastic work that upholds the test of time. I have a tattoo he gave me over 10 years ago and youd never be able to tell. I would highly recommend anybody in the tri-state area to give him a try. Very good at communicating to make sure you have the best possible scenario for the best possible work.

My dear friend got a memorial tattoo for her mom. Rickey was the best. It was like spending time with a friend. His energy was amazing plus hes an awesome artist. Ive never seen someone take so much time getting lettering perfect so my friend could have the memorial she wanted. Im going back for a consult with him asap. Give them a try. You wont be disappointed!

Drew has done a few tattoos for me. He is very clean and professional. And he really pays attention to detail. I have had good experiences in Hocus Pocus. I will definitely be back to get more tattoos!

I’ve been going to Scott Terry for my tattoos since my first one 8 years ago. Scott is an amazing artist and very professional. I’ve always gotten a quick response back from him. I live in Virginia now and have driven back up to Jersey multiple times to get tattooed there by him, including an entire sleeve project most recently. The shop is clean and easy to find.If you want quality work, go see Scott!

My husband went in to get a tattoo to memorialize his daughter. He was quoted $300 when he met with the tattoo artist. This was more than what he was accustomed to spending as he had gotten numerous tattoos in the past. However the tattoo artist assured him that it would be worth it because of the quality of the art he would be receiving. We follow the tattoo artists instructions and booked a tattoo appointment several weeks out. Over the next few weeks we contacted the shop repeatedly trying to get a tattoo sketch sent to us as the artist had promised us. The artist sent us the sketch and my husband was very happy with it, and very excited to be getting the tattoo just a few days from then. However, the tattoo artist then pulled a bait and switch saying that the tattoo would only be $300 if it took him two hours, but if the tattoo took three hours the price would be $450. This tattoo artist wasted both his time iand ours. And given the tragedy my husband just suffered, he especially doesn’t need this right now. Neither the artist nor the shop apologized for this in any way.

This place is absolutely amazing. The shop itself is very welcoming and well-decorated. All of the artists are very friendly and accommodating. Jesi did a watercolor piece on the back of my calf, and my entire experience with her was wonderful. She was very quick to respond when I emailed the shop about a consultation, and she was extremely patient with me as we perfected the design. I seriously cant say enough good things about this place. I will definitely be going back!

This place is great! I got a very special tattoo that meant alot to me done by Shannon. He was awesome! Did exactly what I wanted if not better! Felt welcomed by all the artists there. My husband got a tattoo by Ricky and its amazing as well! Very clean!! We are going back for more work. Cant wait!! This is exactly what we were looking for! Fast response to any questions we have and great ideas for our tattoos. And the way they treat you as well. Talkative and like you have known them for some time. Its just been the best experience I have had yet! And Im on number 9 of tattoos. From now on they will all be done at hocus pocus for sure!! Thanks so much hocus pocus!!

Fantastic! Shannon does amazing American traditional tattoos, he did two for me. And I love them. They make you feel very welcomed and theyre very polite people. My wife and I love going there.

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon, Shannon was able to draw out my tattoo as well as my wifes and only took about an hour and a half total for two small/medium wrist tattoos. Excellent service and a great experience. Highly reccomend!!

I wasn’t going to trash Brent’s work because he has done a few good tattoos from a few years ago! This tattoo is horrible! It doesn’t even look like the stencil you can’t read it and it’s super dark! The Be looks like a 2 year old wrote it! I asked another artist there to fix it he said no because it was disrespectful to the other artist! I think it’s DISRESPECTFUL to the customer! I don’t want Brent to make it worse! I will never be back to this place they don’t care if their customers are not happy! That’s so unprofessional! Sorry Brent now I have to write this review

This place is clean and the artists are very talented. I have gotten tattooed by Tracey Morse for 15 years, and dont plan on ever getting tattooed by anyone else. I would follow her to the Moon if she set up shop there. Not only is she artistically gifted, she also can be light handed, allows you to take a break with out attitude or judgment. I saw her yesterday to plan out a memorial tattoo for my uncle. She looks me right in the eye and says give me a little time to work on this, dont worry we will get it perfect; I know how much this means to you. She didnt have to say that but she did because she is a caring and all around awesome woman. I know this is more of a review of Tracey but the shop is great too, I have just not been tattooed by any other artist there.

My first tattoo in over a decade, Tracey knocked it out of the park. She drew up exactly what I wanted a couple different ways and was so nice about it. Reasonably priced, didn’t feel rushed and just an all around great experience. Clean place and friendly service. I would highly recommend this place and more specifically Tracey.

This is my 3rd tattoo by Tracey and I cant even describe how happy I am with her work. Its exactly how I hoped it would look. Shes an amazing artist and also really cares about your comfort and experience.

I have had a the pleasure of getting several tattoos at Hocus Pocus Tattoo the most recent of which was by Scott. It couldnt have been a better experience. The prices were very reasonable and the artwork is second to none. I will be returning shortly and would highly recommend any one of the artists but especially Scott.

The shop is clean and welcoming! The front desk person was friendly and helpful with my questions. Shannon my piercer was professional and fast! I had my nose done and it didnt hurt at all compared to piercings Ive gotten at other shops! Would highly recommend this local shop!

Tracey Morse gave me an incredible tattoo! First time in, I was nervous but she quickly put me at ease and helped my rather skewed uncertain vision become exactly what I wanted. She also has a very gentle touch. People stop me continuously to ask where I got my tattoos. She does a great job at realistic tattoos (all that Ive gotten so far) but I quickly went back to get another. Shes now my tattoo artist for life. Worth coming out to see her even if you live further away. Her portfolio does not do her justice. Absolutely amazing is what Id say if I had only two words to use to describe her.

I had an appointment with an artist yesterday. My tattoo was a simple design: two names and a pocket watch. However, I was kept waiting an hour and 1/2 to even begin the tattoo. I was not acknowledged in my waiting. I witnessed a potential client come into the shop, but leave because no one was at the front desk to acknowledge him after several minuets of waiting. Needless to say, when I could not even find my artist to inquire how much longer the wait would be, I left.I wrote a respectful e-mail today to the shop manager, Jessica Dennison. I even told her that since I liked the artist and thought he was a nice person, I was addressing the matter with her personally and not in a public review forum. This was Ms. Dennisons response.I will take your complaints into consideration, but tattoos are permanent and quality takes time, as does setting up the equipment and insuring the cleanliness of the room and everything involved in the process, which again, is permanent. If you want somebody to rush a tattoo for you, this is probably not the shop for you anyway. Best of luck with your future tattoo experiences elsewhere.Not even a FAKE apology was offered! Instead, my intelligence is insulted. I have 4 other tattoos. I understand the process. I also know a very disrespectful and unprofessional business when I see one!

So Ive been to hocus pocus 3 times. Twice for tattoos and once for a piercing. Ive dealt with different people every time, and every single person has been a pleasure to work with. Its a really laid back environment, but you can still tell that all of the artists there take their jobs seriously. All around great experiences every time.

Scott Terry is the absolute MAN. Great artist when it comes to cartoony AND realism. Very professional. Very funny. I cant speak for the other artists personally, but I like their portfolios. The shop itself is very clean and bright and friendly. Parking available, and down the street from a wawa if you need a mid-sesh snack or atm.

Stopped in randomly while visiting family. I had wanted to get a very simple tattoo and nkt spend a fortune. This shop is $60 minimum and thats what I was charged. I waited a little longer than I thought, but thats ok. Shannon did my ink & was done in like 5 mins. Very gentle, didnt dig! Would come back for sure.

This place is a great tattoo shop.....All of their artists are super friendly and talented. I have my work done by Ricky Tribu.....He is literally one of the best overall artists Ive encountered. I would 100% suggest this shop to anyone

Tracey did my tattoo and was fantastic. Shop is neat, clean and parking is on side street. Takes all credit cards except Amex, no tipping on cards though so bring cash for that.

Great staff. Clean shop. The only complaint is there is no parking lot, and not a lot on the side street.

They lied about the age limit for piercing’s, they said that you have to be fifteen years old in the state of new jersey for a nose piercing but you can be 14-18 years old with parent consent. But I called somewhere else and they said 13 with parent consent.
