Ravensgate offers some of the best vibes in Phoenixville and are an asset to the community. They offer a selection of locally crafted art, jewelry, and trinkets, as well as expertise in tattoo and leather work. John and Jordan are amazing artists, but they also care about their clients and community! We find ourselves stopping in just to say hi, chat, and be in the space.I purchased a wallet for my partner last December and he has been so happy with it. It’s sturdy and well made, and also stylish and one of a kind. The best part, John offered to personalize his wallet with a key ring to make it more functional for my partner. All we had to do was talk to him and sit and wait while he worked his magic!Jordan’s tattoo space is beautiful, full of natural light and plants, and seems like the most comfortable welcoming place to get work done. Even though I’m not ready for a tattoo, i dream of the day when i can finally get something from her!I highly recommend you stop in and look around. Their first Friday celebrations highlighting the art community have been lots of fun to check out. All around great place and people.

I can’t say enough good things about this gem of a shop/tattoo studio in the heart of Phoenixville! John and a Jordan are two of the loveliest people you will ever meet. John’s leather goods have been my go-to gift for loved ones around their birthdays/the holidays. I custom ordered a wallet as a wedding day gift for my husband and it has been such a lovely memento used daily that reminds us of such a special time. Jordan’s work is AMAZING. While I don’t personally have any tattoos, I love recommending her to any of my friends who are interested. I also own some of her prints. Her studio is such an inviting space and she is a true artist in her element.I’ve enjoyed every art show curated by Ravensgate as well. There’s something for everyone at this special shop!

Ravensgate is amazing! Go for the art shows, go for the leather works, go for the tattoos, go for the vibe…just go!! They’re a talented crew of artists passionate about their work. I’ve been tattooed by Jordan twice (so far) and have had an enjoyable experience all around each time.

Best artist I have encountered in my years of looking for the right person to do a tattoo for me. Jordan designed and applied a tribute piece for me that I have been looking for for decades- her work is amazing and the design was everything I wanted. It was serendipitous that I found her- the design and the artist came together beautifully for me.

I went to the shop to get a tattoo by Jordan. She is an amazingly talented artist and a kind persin. I felt welcomed and comfortable there. The leather goods and displayed art are lovely too and worth stopping by just to look at.

Jordan and John make this place feel so comfortable. Its always so cool being here. Jordan also is such an amazing artist and makes the entire tattoo process comfortable and fun. Definitely worth traveling to see them no matter the distance

I try to get there every first Friday as they feature local artists and I have bought 3 different things from 3 different artists for my new place that I moved into about 6 months ago. Also a group of my friends are looking to get small tattoos in the fall and were happy with information we received when we inquired. Also see owners out and about and have felt welcomed in my new area.

Artists and champions of the Phoenixville community. The shop is filled with local art and craftsmanship, the perfect place to swoon on a chaise or commune with a haunted birdskull. Jordan is an inspired tattoo artist, creating pieces that feel somewhere between noble crests, fantasy illustrations, and prophetic dreams. Johns leather work makes life feel adventurous. Theyve always treated me with kindness and are sensitive and insightful to those who spend time with them.

My favorite shop in Phoenixville! These guys are the sweetest kindest peeps in town. John’s leather work is outstanding and can do fantastic custom work! Jordan and Adrian both are fantastic artists and take the time a care to create exactly what you want! They have an amazing selection of local artists on display in the shop as well!!!

John and Jordan are such and incredible part of Phoenixville, and their place is hands down the most welcoming tattoo shop Ive been in (20+ tattoos).Johns leatherwork is so thoughtfully crafted and he is more than open to chatting about his own wares or the curated selection of locally made art and goods, or just about anything else - ask him about the egregious loss for Käärijä in Eurovision sometime.Jordan is not only unbelievably skilled in her designs and light as a feather in her hand (marks of a lot of practice and care in her own trade), but she has a wonderful talent for making me feel comfortable whenever Im getting work done. Shes open to talking, watching silly videos, or just popping on headphones if I want to zone out.I would recommend Ravensgate to anyone looking for a tattoo, handcrafted items, or just a friendly community!Beware of dog - she loves pets and will trap you into giving her unending belly rubs.

Jordan and John, the owners, are incredibly lovely and welcoming people. Theyve created a shop with an amazing aesthetic and atmosphere. Both of their work is amazing.After meeting them, and seeing Jordans work, I knew I wanted a tattoo from her. When I came into town next (from the PNW), I got a sizeable tattoo done on my thigh. Jordan was incredible, the piece is gorgeous, and I had a great time. Both her and John put a lot of energy into making me feel comfortable. Jordan and I just chatted and had a great time.Ive never been more thrilled with a tattoo, and I now feel like a work of art thanks to her.Update: visited again June 2024. Another amazing time with Jordan, getting another incredible tattoo. I love how she incorporated my feedback into the design, and how welcomed I felt. 10/10 - will be back again.

Ravensgate is more than a place where you can get tattooed or buy leather work - it is a gathering place for the large community of artists that call Phoenixville home. While visiting a few months ago, the number of artists who stopped by just to say hi was really impressive - Jordan and John are obviously well liked, even just in the short time theyve been in PA. The two of them have poured their heart and soul into Ravensgate, and it shows.As for myself, I followed them from their previous home in North Carolina! My daily use wallet for the past year was made by John, and I have two tattoos from Jordan with plans to get many more. I couldnt tell you how many compliments I receive regularly on all three. I have no problem making the 8 hour drive if it means I get to come here (if only I could afford to do it more often!). Ravensgate makes me feel comfortable and at home, like hanging out with old friends, and that means a lot coming from someone who has bad social anxiety.I uploaded some pictures of work that I am proud to say came from this amazing duo. Be sure to stop by, chat with the owners, sit in the comfiest sofa known to man - you wont regret it. And of course, always remember... See the raven. Be the gate.

I have been tattooed by Jordan multiple times and she was so amazing that after she set up shop in PA, taking on the 9 hour drive to see her again was a no brainer! The shop is perfectly laid out and insanely comfortable with a great selection of art to check out while you’re there. I was even able to grab some custom handmade leather goods from John while I was there. If you’re looking to get your first tattoo or your 50th I couldn’t recommend this shop more.

The best spot for unique art in Phoenixville! This entire building is teeming with talent, with The Upstairs Studio Artists in the lofts above and Ravensgate at the street level, you absolutely MUST stop in for First Fridays, or whenever youre in town!

Where to even begin?? Jordan is an absolute gem and her work speaks for itself! I already have two (and counting!) tattoos from her and cannot wait to add more. She’s a skilled artist who takes all of your ideas and creates magic with them. I get compliments in my tattoos all the time and I couldn’t recommend her more! Additionally, the shop is so wonderful! Such a great time to be able to pop in and peruse all the art and store items - John’s leatherwork is incredible as well and I have several of his pieces!

I walked by a sign that said ... today is the day to get the tattoo youve been wanting, walk ins welcome. I stood there for a while deciding. It was mothers day the next day, I wanted something small for each of my kids and the sign inspired me to go inside. I walked in and explained what I wanted. They told me eventho the sign outfront said that they were doing walkins they werent. Everyone there was watching TV together. It really killed my moment of inspiration and I felt frustrated and misled. I was still willing to get the tattoo and asked about availability instead of checking and booking me I was handed a card and told to go online and book it myself. And to remember that there would be a 100.00 minimum. Everyone was still just watching TV. No one was tattooing, its a fairly new place and I was trying to do business with them. It felt very much like my small request wasnt worth the time especially when they immediately acknowledged the sign stating they were tattooing that day knowing it brought me in and turned me away. It was early maybe 1:00 in the afternoon. Maybe if I had picked something that cost more they would have wanted to help. There was no point to having the sign out front and the door open just to refuse me. It was a bad experience and its truly a shame bc I walked in and wanted to like the place as weird as that sounds. My daughter was with me and walked out disappointed as well. I ended up going nearby and getting something done, they were happy to help. The whole thing could have been avoided really by removing the sign. My two small tattoo requests werent enough to make anyone want to do business with me. Just a really bad experience. It may not have been much money but I wanted to be valued like any other customer. I wont be back.

Ravensgate is a hidden treasure where artistry meets genuine hospitality. Jordan, the artist, is not only incredibly talented but also a fantastic person. During my recent visit as a guest while a friend got a tattoo, the experience exceeded all expectations.From the first step inside, the atmosphere was like being among family. We spent a full 8 hours at the shop, with breaks in between, engaging in endless conversations that left us feeling a deep connection to this place. Ravensgate is more than a tattoo studio; its a place of creativity and camaraderie. Im eagerly anticipating my next visit, excited to witness the amazing work Jordan will unveil next.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful my experience was at Ravensgate. Jordan brought an idea to life that I had been wanting for a tattoo for years and it blew my expectations away. She was easy to communicate with and sent me the design for the tattoo in advance so I could make tweaks (I had none-it was perfect). Once I got there she printed it out in different sizes to get it just right. Jordan and John both made me feel welcome and comfortable right away. The tattoo process was great-Jordan is very fun to talk to and she continuously checked in with me. I have never felt this comfortable before during a tattoo experience. I am blown away by the end result. I have gotten stopped multiple times by people asking who did my tattoo-its that gorgeous. I highly recommend using Jordan for a tattoo and even if you dont want a tattoo stop by the shop. Johns leather work is beautiful and they have great art and other handmade items available.

I have used Jordan for 90% of my tattoos for the last several years. I have not yet been able to visit her new shop but I would, without question, travel from NC solely to get another tattoo from her. Not only is she INSANELY talented, but she is one of the coolest, sweetest and all around most awesome humans Ive ever met. You will not regret booking with her.

Ravensgate is such a welcoming shop with so much to offer! They have an assortment of local art for sale and display while also being the best tattoo shop in town. Jordan is incredibly creative and talented. Shes completely designed my thigh piece and its my absolute favorite. 10/10 recommend and I will be going back for future tattoos.

If theres a better tattoo experience, I cant imagine it. Jordan demonstrated what it means to listen to and interpret an idea, bringing my piece to life with expert skill and peak professionalism that exceeded my most optimistic hopes for the artwork. That she did so in what is clearly a lovingly curated creative space made the experience sublime, and one that I plan to repeat. Jordan and John are doing wonderful work in Phoenixville, and Im glad to have them here.

Jordan and John are some of the friendliest people out there! Their shop has nothing but good energy and an earthy-home feel (despite the all black walls!). You always know youre welcome when you walk in their doors -- and theyre always open to people dropping by for a chat, or to pet their incredibly cute shop dog! Their artistry is rivaled only by their kindness, which exists in everything they do. I highly recommend getting a one-of-a-kind tattoo or a custom leather piece from Jordan and John -- you wont regret it!!

Ive gone to Jordan for head and sleeve tattoos and only have great things to say! The studio is beautiful, comfortable, clean, and easy to locate in Phoenixville. Jordans tattoo process is very organized, and her style is amazing and versatile.

I feel incredibly lucky that the team behind Ravensgate chose our lovely corner of the world to call home. I was able to get my first tattoo from Jordan who, in addition to being an amazing artist, is also an amazing human being. John’s work is equally stunning and between the two of them and Auri, they create such a welcoming environment!
