I had a great experience at Times of Grace. I’m in love with my tattoo. Quite possibly the first time I was shown a design before a tattoo and couldn’t wait to sit down. HE IS ALSO SUPER GENTLE. I always bleed and did not bleed with Robert.The atmosphere is very chill, calm, and full of art work. The studio is very clean and as a low key germaphobe- I had no concerns! Can’t wait for the next tattoo!

I just had some work done by Robert today. His shop is neat and very spacious. Robert is extremely professional and courteous. His work was clean and well done. Based on my tattoo and the work displayed, Robert is a true artist. Hes also a very nice person! Highly recommend.

Robert is an extremely talented man and I have gotten approximately 17 tattoos in the past 2 years from him and will always be a client of his. The best of the best. My first Tattoo at 57 years old. I described my thought to Robert and he brought it to life. It’s incredible and beautiful. He has done many on my daughter and her fiancé. Robert is extremely talented. You can tell how much he loves what he does. He put me at ease, I enjoyed a few episodes of Fraiser and I barely moved. I couldn’t believe how well I did and it’s all because of his exceptional talent. Thanks Robert, I just may be back for another since this one went so well.

Rob is not only talented and creative, he is a gentleman as well!! I have had bad experiences with other tattoo artists in the past and it left me with a stereotype that all tattoo artists are the same. Rob absolutely DOES NOT fit the previous stereotype. He is extremely efficient and quick with his work. He WILL NOT milk the time with you to get more money out of you. I had an idea of a piece that I wanted and he drew it up and brought it to life. Five star work with a fair price! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!

Robert at Times Of Grace Tattoo is THE guy to go to for top notch tattoo work. He can take your idea from thought, to print, to tattoo, with recommendations and suggestions on how it will look, as well as how it will look over time. He is very easy to talk to, and understands your needs and what you want.His shop is spotless, as well as an art gallery (with his own artwork), providing excellent examples of his artistic talent. And talent is an understatement!Also, being an artist as well as a tattoo artist, he has a light hand. Which means his tattoo work has a much lower discomfort level then other tattoo artists. In other words, when he was doing mine, I kept saying I cant believe how little discomfort there is! I watched a movie and played on my phone while he was working.His pricing is very reasonable, and his after care instructions are thorough and easy to follow. He also explains why about the different after care instructions.As with anyone who is top notch in their field, there is a bit of a wait to get an appointment, but WELL worth the wait! I am looking forward to getting more work done by Robert.He is also the owner/operator of Times Of Grace, and nobody cares more about the quality of work then the owner.I highly recommend Robert, and cant thank him enough for the quality of work he provides, and the comfort level he provides during the consultation and tattooing.

I had a wonderful experience getting my first tattoo from Robert at Times of Grace and would encourage anyone looking for a custom piece to do the same. I have wanted a tattoo for 15 years or so, but I never felt comfortable enough with a design nor with an artist to make the commitment. After seeing a piece of his work on my brother-in-law, I reached out to Robert and made an appointment to come in and meet with him.I knew I had a couple of themes I wanted to represent, but as I am not particularly creative nor artistic, I didnt have any symbols that I knew I wanted included. However, within 45 minutes, Robert had identified the elements to represent my themes and had mapped them out on my body (in this case, my tattoo is the back of my right calf.) While I clearly deferred to Roberts opinion (he IS the artist after all,) he asked questions of me throughout the whole process to get my input and thoughts. I did not feel at any point that he tried to push any images or designs that I did not approve of or contribute to. Before I left, we scheduled two sittings, the first being four hours since it was my first tattoo and the second being 6 hours.When I came in for the first sitting, he showed me his design: a pocketwatch being overrun with gladiolus flowers. I was immediately impressed with his smooth outlines and interesting composition that fit my body perfectly. As we went to get started, we headed into the back room that had a large comfortable chair, a sound system, and a flat screen television. Robert immediately offered to put something on TV or the stereo for me (he says he needs white noise behind him to focus, whether it be TV or music,) but I indicated that I had brought headphones and said he could put on whatever he liked. Once he began, I was happy that he was not heavy-handed yet his lines were clean and his color application was smooth and even. When we finished, he carefully cleaned and bandaged the tattoo and provided me with a card describing the steps needed to properly care for the tattoo as it healed. He also encouraged me to reach out for any touch-ups necessary once the healing process finished. After both sittings, the tattoo healed in about 2 weeks, as I had very little clotting or ink loss.I have had the completed tattoo for about a month now and in addition to being extremely pleased with how the image came out, I have gotten numerous comments from strangers who have been impressed with the craftsmanship. I cannot encourage you enough to look into using Robert at Times of Grace as your artist; he has exceeded all of my expectations and made me very thankful that I waited to have him do my first tattoo. I can assure you I will never use another artist for any of my future pieces.

Went here for my first tattoo and Im never going anywhere else. The entire place is clean and has an art gallery vibe. Hes not only talented, but nice, knowledgeable and creative. He works efficiently and makes sure youre comfortable. My word on my rib was done in 15 minutes and looks new still (done in April). The first day for my appointment, I was on antibiotics for something and he warned me it could mess up the healing process (rejecting ink). I appreciated him letting me know because it showed he really cares about his art. We immediately scheduled a new date for two weeks later. My mom was against me getting a tattoo, but once she entered and met him, she was excited and recommended Times of Grace to family members.

Not your average tattoo shop with generic tattoo from a book to pick from. This is where you go to make your ideas come to life. This is where you go to get a piece of art tattooed. Rob will speak to you, listen to your ideas and make them come to life better that you can imagine them. I will never go anywhere else. I just have too much trust in his artistic ability. Recommend 100%.

Robert has been working on me since 2012, there is no one I would ever recommend other then him. Besides being an incredible artist he is genuinely a great guy, easy to talk to and doesnt have a heavy hand ... basically best artist in NJ. Cant wait to get my next tattoo . Place is awesome...tattoo shop and art gallery...artist Rob is the man. Brings these tattoos to life. Clean place. Area where is located is clean and looks very safe. Plenty of parking. Rob is very attentive to his customers and makes sure everyone is comfortable and when it’s time to get started he is focused on your tattoo and nothing else. Highly recommend.

Robert Mankowski at Times of Grace is the ONLY artist to go to if youre looking for a tattoo, whether its your first or if youre looking to add to your collection. You will not be disappointed. Robert is an extremely professional artist specializing in custom work. His ability to take an idea and turn it into a piece of art is amazing. I met Robert 4 years ago when I walked into a shop in Denville looking for my first tattoo. My wife started going shortly thereafter. Weve now got several, all from Robert. When Robert opened Times of Grace in Rahway, We didnt hesitate to follow. We wouldnt go to anyone else.

I first met Robert in another tattoo shop where he was apprenticing. It was quickly apparent what an extremely talented artist he was (and is). I use the term “artist” because Robert is much more than a tattooist. He is truly dedicated to his craft, and it’s easy to sense his passion. Take one step into Times of Grace and you’ll immediately notice the various works of art (in all different mediums) adorning the gallery. You know that this is not a cookie cutter shop.Tattoo work is done in a separate room in the back of the suite. It should be standard fare in all tattoo shops, but it’s still worth mentioning – work areas are clean, uncluttered, and organized. It’s painfully obvious that there is clearly an attention to detail. Don’t walk into Times of Grace with a flash image in mind; you’d be doing yourself a disservice. Walk in with an idea or concept… and let it go from there. You’d be amazed what can happen when you give an artist some creative freedom. Unique, custom, inspiring work at a place where you’ll be treated with respect and as a priority – that’s Times of Grace.

This guy is great. He did my sons tattoo and it is perfect. He is an amazing overall artist, not just tattoos, as evidenced by the art all over the walls in the studio. The place is clean and very comfortable. He has integrity as well, he refused to do the tattoo my wife wanted because she showed him a pic of another persons tattoo, he said he will not do that. Going for my own next month.

He doesnt make you feel like youre just another appointment like other places Ive been to. He actually takes the time to discuss with you what you want and how to make that happen. I have gotten several pieces by him, including a very tough coverup, and I get complimented on them regularly. Hes an artist and its clearly reflected in his work. Plus the shop is also an art gallery, which is awesome. I would never go to anyone else again, obviously I highly recommend him.

Just completed my first tattoo ever and couldnt imagine being able to find a better place. Rob is incredibly professional and could turn any thought into a work of art. The shop is cleaner than most doctors offices and with music, tv, and movies available you can get your tattoo in a very comfortable environment. The best tattoo artist around , Robert does all the work himself.and there is nobody walking around the shop ,no walkins, its just you and him with the door locked , he has a big screen smart TV that you can choose what movies you want to watch on Netflix while he is tattooing you, Robert sleeved my right arm for my 50th birthday and I just got done my left arm sleeved for my 55th birthday Robert did everything free hand and it is amazing! I got lucky I live only 10 minutes from him if I lived 2 hours away I would still go to him he is that good. I will be going back to him to get my leg sleeved for my 56th birthday
