Everyone there was so welcoming and amazing! Chill and comfortable vibe! Phil did all 4 of our groups tats in only 2 hours - with amazing detail and color! Im from Houston and will only drive to South Padre to get my ink from Phil moving forward! If you want your ink done right and in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, this is THE PLACE TO BE! Several talented and funny as hell artists here - and everyone was just so kind!

Uncle Phil was professional and personable. So glad we booked at Seven Sparrows! He even did one stencil only so our non-tattoo-er was included🤟🏼 go have a family reunion with your favorite uncle down in SPI.

After a terrible experience with a different tattoo company in SPI, we stopped by 7 Sparrows to see if we could get better service and better ink…From the time we walked in to the time we left the tattoo session we had a great experience.The guys in 7 Sparrows actually listened to what we wanted, their work was awesome, and everyone was friendly and helpful.Both our tattoos turned out great. Uncle Phil and his crew are consummate professionals of their craft. Phil took my idea from a medical illustration and photos of my engine and made it permanent. The shop is clean and filled with interesting stuff and they use the latest technology. They’re also good people and easy to talk with. This may be among the best tattoo shops in the country. I’d give them ten stars if I could.

Phil is a badass. That guy is great with color which isn’t always the case with a lot of artists. He’s done all my sleeve so far and I’m definitely addicted to his style. The blue rose is actually a cover up and I was told it was too dark to hide but he did it for me and you can’t tell what was there. I recommend going to Phil if you’re wanting anything with color or if ur not sure what to get because he’s good at that too. I can’t wait to go back, I’m like a kid in a candy store lol

I highly recommend asking for James. Hes incredibly honest and a really cool guy. James did walk-in tattoos for our family of four in about five hours. James also has a light hand as well. The pricing was very reasonable too.

I have a nipple peircing that has only been out five times in over 22 years. I had to take it out for an MRI and I always have difficulty getting the ring back in, so I stopped in for assistance. They had it back in in no time (virtually painlessly). I was very impressed, which is difficult to do.

Decided last minute to get some ink while on vacation-after reading the reviews, went to 7 Sparrows and I’m glad I did. I wasn’t sure if they would be able to do the work right away as I was a walk in-but Raul drew up exactly what I wanted and got to work! It began with the forging of the Great tattoo artists. Three were given to the the wildest whitest, immortal, wisest and fairest girls of all beings. Several hours later to the Dwarf-Lords, great tattooers and craftsmen of the art halls. We were gifted with badass tattoos that no one else desire the power!!!~ a little from the beginning of the lord of the rings!

Such a neat looking shop and Phil is a really nice laid-back guy who does great work. Definitely pay these guys a visit when youre on the island.

My friend and I came in as walk in’s and got small matching tattoos. Raul was our artist and he is amazing!! Everyone was so nice and the atmosphere was great. We decided to go back the next day and get more. Great prices too!

Our group of four went in for tattoos while on the island. Raul did my shoulder piece while Phil did the wrist tattoos for the girls. Raul is a phenomenal artist with excellent line work. He listens to your requests and incorporates exactly what you are looking for with some helpful input as well. He’s one of the best artist i’ve seen and is also an all around great guy. I’ll absolutely work with him again. The girls loved Phil. He made them feel very comfortable and safe and they had a very enjoyable experience. There’s a reason this shop has such good reviews, these two artist are excellent at what they do and treat customers well. Go here for your next tattoo.

In true vacation fashion, four of us decided on a whim to go get tattoos. Found THE BEST tattoo studio ever and a few hrs later we were all lined up and ready to go. Phil and James were amazing and so quick. Phil did mine and my husbands, and I swear he has the lightest, quickest hand and the lines were impeccable. He was done before I really even noticed he got started. Before we even left the shop we were planning our next visit and asking if he ever traveled for guest spots. Our friends got James and they had nothing but nice things to say! Side note, both guys were super entertaining to chat with and we had a great time just hanging out. Super clean shop - Id honestly love for them to come decorate my house, it was so cool. Everyone was incredibly nice and didnt leave you with the feeling that you were bothering them and they just wanted your $ and you out the door like weve experienced in other shops. For the record, our group has well over 100 tattoos collectively so we arent noobs to the game.

WATCH THIS!! After saying “watch this” and a fun tumble out of a golf kart and a few staples to my head later, I decided to get a “watch this” tattoo done! Jake did more than what I expected and definitely working getting work done from!! Come check them out!!

My boyfriend and I vacationed in South Padre over Labor Day weekend and by the first day we decided we wanted to get matching beach themed tattoos. We walked in to Seven Sparrows and met Karen at the desk. She was so welcoming and sweet and told us we didnt need an appointment, just to stop by when were ready. We did a little research on the shop and read great reviews. So on Monday, our last day in SPI, we walked in and met Raul. We showed him our ideas and within 30 minutes we were getting matching tattoos! Raul was so kind and just easy to be around. He has over 30 years of experience and it shows! We love our tattoos and look forward to seeing Raul again for more ink!

I recently lost my soul dog and wanted to finally get his paw tattooed. This was my first one. Im so glad I came to seven sparrows, Phil was great. It had been a rough day for me emotionally, and Phil was so nice and talked to me the whole time. It really turned my day around and made the process seem so quick. I was in S. Padre celebrating my divorce and wanted some ink to commemorate it. I looked up local shops and Seven Sparrows had the best reviews, so I gave it a shot. I’m so glad I did, Raul did an amazing job for me! The shop is clean, and has a laid back vibe. I felt comfortable the second I walked in. I liked Raul’s work so much I’m going back for a half sleeve. Definitely check them out, you won’t regret it.

Phil is so accommodating had the tattoo we had chosen drawn up a waiting for my Lady, she wanted a little bit smaller in less than a minute he had the size she wanted and in 45 minutes had it done. Explain in detail the after care. Im going to get one this week also. Phil was highly recommended glad we listened. You cant even imagine how good of an amazing experience and the quality of Phils experience and talent.

Amazing shop! Wife and I both got work done and we couldn’t be happier. We had a family emergency a few days before our appointment and they worked with us to reschedule and make it happen. Good music, excellent artists, and a chill vibe. My wife had her tattoo done by the visiting artist Elmo (black and white, sugar skull alien head) and mine was done by resident artist Jake (full color, American Traditional snake). While I was laying there for 3 hours I can’t even tell you how many walk-in bangers the owner Raul knocked out. They’re all super friendly (including the lady, I’m sorry I forgot your name, who runs their phones and appointment books), do great work, and if we’re ever on The Island again we will absolutely go back. Prices are very fair too. I’d give them more than 5 stars if I could. Thanks for an awesome experience!

ASK FOR PHILI trusted the other reviews and they are very right. My tattoos are very special to me. I was a little nervous getting a tattoo so far from home. But Phil and the staff here are super sweet, sincere, and accommodating. Despite me being a little picky, Phil worked with me to create something I have fallen in love with. I will update with a picture of the healed tattoo in a few days. But this is the reference I gave him. I wanted a minimalistic shell, and love it. Would love to come back!

Went in this past week with my own idea, set my appointment for the next day then left. When I returned for my appointment all I can say is WOW!!!Phil greeted me and presented me with not only the design I asked for ready to go but in addition with his own artistic design. Wasn’t pushy or trying to talk me into something I didn’t want. I was amazed at the idea and art he designed for me I went with it without a second thought. The time he took to have both ready, in my opinion, speaks volume on how much he cares for his customer and his craft.When you visit this shop let Phil get creative with you! We were on vacation visiting family and enjoying beach when wife decided to get her first tattoo. It was a tribute to her mom,moms favorite flower and a female cardinal. We did a check of all tattoo shops around area and found that Seve Sparrows had best reviews. We got in touch with Phil and she explained to him what she was looking for. He did 1 hell of job transitioning her thoughts into this( Remember, this is her 1st tattoo).They say once you get your 1st tattoo you become addicted and boy is that true. She already has plans for her next 1. Being a graduate of University of Tennessee she wants the Power T and pic of Smokey the mascot as her next. I reached out via the booking link on the website on my way to South Padre Island. They were super responsive. I had an appointment booked at 1000 the next day (Phil came in early to meet me). Im a doctor so infectious disease control is not a game to me, I was pleased with the cleanliness of the shop and the sterile technique of the tattoo artist. The prices were super fair. I would 100% get a second tattoo done by Phil. If youre looking for a reputable shop in South Padre Island, be sure to check them out (especially Phil, hes a gem)!

Phil is the man!!! From the time we walked in til the few days later when we were able to get in the chair, nothing but great vibes! He was able to complete 4 smaller pieces with exquisite attention to detail in less than 2 hours. The work is fantastic, the staff AMAZING and just an all around wonderful experience. Let me start by saying Phil is the best! The atmosphere was more than welcoming. He started on my galaxy sleeve and it was so good Ill be taking the 6 hours trip back just to finish! Be ready to laugh, have a good time, and get a tatted by a great artist.

Went to seven sparrows and had Raul arevalo work on my chest I was extremely extremely impressed and satisfied with how well and how fast he worked no pain and he even suggested what would make the tattoo a little better if you guys are ever around stop in and ask for Raul you will be thankful you did

I went to SPI for my birthday weekend with my girlfriends. We decided at the last minute to get tattoos. Phil was extremely accommodating in getting the five of us in for tattoos. He did a fantastic job and was extremely professional. And he had some amazing stories! It was definitely the highlight of my trip!

Phil just did a cover up tattoo for me while my fiancé and I are on vacation. I don’t usually get tattoos, but I wanted to improve one I had. Phil transformed three tiny basic stars from almost 20 years ago into a beautiful peony.. :D I love it! His shop is awesome and everyone was so friendly and chill. He didn’t overcharge either! My fiancé decided to come back and he is getting one too! :) Highly recommend!

This is my favorite place on the island to get a tattoo. Raul is easy to work with and nails the tattoo every time. I’ve gotten two tattoos from this shop, both of them line work. Went in while on vacation looking for traditional Ed Hardy tattoo. Raul took the job but I didn’t agree with total price for the full color version so agreed for just outline and shade, then come back to get colored in. Well communication was made with Raul that I would be back on July 8 th, to finish, only to arrive and find out he was out fishing. I was disappointed with this but wanted to get color so I let James finish the tattoo. Needless to say I was even more impressed with James and the end result! I am a man of my word and I choose to spend hundreds on ink work and I expect the artist to stand by his word and finish the tattoo. I’m not happy with having a Raul/James -Ed Hardy tattoo but am definitely more impressed with James professionalism. Not sure if I’ll be back to get more work, might take awhile to get the salt water out my mouth.

Called the shop at 6pm asking if they could take a walk in for a 4in black outline tattoo, Phil told me to come on down and i walked out w this dope piece by 7:30. i live in McAllen but came to the island on a little getaway and got the urge to get my first tat i was hesitant about the quality id get but after doing some research and landing at Seven Sparrows Tattoo taking a look around and talking to the artist and clientele there i felt comfortable. YES! YES! YES! Stopped in on my way back home from spending my birthday week on the island. Sheldon helped me out and created something way better than I had imagined! I wanted a milestone birthday piece and being a Wizard of Oz enthusiast, I wanted something to commemerate the two. He drew my ideas on his tablet and I was absolutely in love! I 100% recommend getting tattooed here, especially by Phil who took the time to tattoo 12 of my family members in only 3 days ! He did multiple tattoos on us for really good prices.
