Blue Lotus Tattoo & The Piercing Lounge

I had an ear I needed re-pierced and it was a bit of an odd situation - the front of my piercing had closed, but the back was still partway open. I found Blue Lotus through a Google search, and had a couple coworkers recommend them as well. JB did a great job re-piercing my ear! I wasnt sure what to expect for pain since there was some scar tissue involved, but the process was quick, easy, and about as painless as I think a piercing can be. My personal style is fairly basic, so while I dont think Ill be back to get more piercings, Ill definitely recommend Blue Lotus to anyone looking for piercings. Clean shop, friendly staff, and while the log cabin style waiting area took me a bit by surprise, it was nice!

Dana. You’re a goddess. I got my nose pierced by Dana and she was so incredibly inviting, friendly, and very understanding. It is the first piercing I have had outside of my ears and was a bit nervous. She did a “practice” run with me before doing the actual piercing and kept me very calm. Definitely made the experience much easier than expected! The staff who checked me in for the appointment were also extremely kind and incredibly friendly. The place is spotless and has an incredible decor concept! Will absolutely come back here!

We tried walking in to get matching tattoos when they opened on Fathers Day. Unfortunately, they couldnt get us in for a consult for a couple of hours. We didnt need a consult since what we wanted was quite simple. Another place was able to see us, draw up what we wanted and gave us our tattoos in about an hour total.I can appreciate that they were busy. I do not think we needed a consult appointment first. That is the only thing I can really rate them on since we didnt get any work done.The lobby was nice. I liked the displays of jewelry. Id suggest a book of tattoos that their artists are proud of. Something to give a feel for what the artists can do

I was super nervous about getting my 1st tattoo, but everyone at Blue Lotus was incredibly professional and really kind. Bryce had the front desk running like a Rolex, and Tristan was awesome. He was super chill and his calm demeanor set me totally at ease. The facility is clean, emails are answered quickly, and everything was great! I love my tattoo!!!

I had a really great tattoo experience here and will absolutely be back. The salon was very clean and inviting, not at all intimidating to a mom pushing 40 with just a few tattoos. Front desk person is very sweet and upbeat. Kaia (tattoo artist) is awesome; laid back, super friendly and good at what she does. Also said she designs tattoos, and I’ll take her up on that. Highly recommend!

Erin is a great piercer. It was my first time getting piercings since 1986. The studio was very clean and the staff were very friendly. Highly recommend.

Our piercer, Erin, was AMAZING! They did a nose piercing for me and my sister got her ears pierced. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. I would definitely recommend Blue Lotus (might come back for another piercing, who knows)!

Have had really good experiences by the piercers. Got my conches pierced by an apprentice at BL! Erin was so easy to talk to, and made the experience as comfortable and smooth as possible! Made the best suggestion for what pieces I could do that would compliment my gold pieces that I have for my nostrils. Overall really quick, detailed; and damn near painless. Will be going back to see Erin in the future! And would recommend anyone to as well (: So happy with my new pokes!!

Fantastic experience overall! The two front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. Grace (and her assistant/ trainee) did my piercings; she was wonderfully friendly and very professional. I felt 100% confident and comfortable I’d come out with exactly what I wanted, and that’s precisely what I got! As a healthcare worker, I was pleased with the level of infection control and have zero worries about the equipment or techniques used. I highly recommend both the studio as a whole as well as Grace specifically!!!

I brought my 13 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. It was a wonderful experience. Everyone was extremely welcoming and professional. Dana was amazing with my daughter, walked her through the whole process and even did breathing exercises with her. Everything was incredibly sterile and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Jesse is fantastic, I couldnt have asked for a better tattoo artist. Homis consultation was quick and he was quite confident. On the day of, he explained to me why the outline felt different than the filler and how to properly care for the tattoo. He finished in an hour and this result is outstanding. If you tell a tattoo artist its your first time they will guide you through without causing you to panic.

I have gotten all of my piercings done here with Holly, who is amazing, but when I scheduled a tattoo with Gigi, it was a terrible experience. The consultation was fine, but when I went in for the tattoo, she was 15 minutes late, having only scheduled out 30 minutes for my appointment. Her drawings were nothing like what we discussed or what I wanted and she was very rude and huffy about having to redraw them. She said if I wanted them redrawn any more, we would have to reschedule. After watching her sigh and be rude to me for 10 minutes, I finally decided to leave right before she told me her next client was here. They kept my $50 deposit. I drove all the way home from college to come here and left with nothing but $50 shorter. I would have thought it was all my own fault, but my friend was with me and saw the whole thing and she told me it was insane. She has had many tattoos done at other places and said this was the worst customer service she had ever seen.

I can’t say enough good things about the team at Blue Lotus. I initially went for a nose piercing, and was pierced by Holly. She has such a beautiful spirit. She placed my nose stud perfectly, and I only felt pressure when she pierced, no pain. I came back about 2.5 weeks later after I lost part of my nose ring. I was having a full blown anxiety episode and under serious distress after work. I live pretty far away but decided to stop by after work since my piercing was still so new. Both Holly and their suite hostess were so caring, patient, kind, and just warmhearted. People will forget what you’ve said… People will forget what you’ve done… But they’ll never forget how you made them feel. Thank you ladies both!

I have had a number of tattoos done at Blue Lotus. Most have been done by Rob. Jada did one for me and my daughter. The experience was great from start to finish on all occasions. All staff members I have had the privilege to deal with have been fantastic.Myke at there Odana location was awesome when we took our daughter in for a piercing. She was working as a life guard at the time. He stressed waiting to have the piercing done until she would not be working in order for it to heal properly and avoid any complications. This is great customer service.I would highly recommend their services at any of the locations. I have had dealings at all of them and have had positive experiences.

I took my 11 year old to Blue Lotus in Sun Prairie to get her ears pierced. I was so amazed at the professionalism of the staff and how welcoming the whole experience was. The staff at the desk and the piercer, Grace, were so kind. Grace was patient with my daughter and explained the whole process to her, from start to finish with no surprises. THANK YOU GRACE! Usually good. Got a post put in by an apprentice that was way too small. If you get an apprentice, definitely ask someone to be in there with them to make sure they know what they’re doing.

Jazz did an incredible job with my tattoo. Id wanted The Tower tattooed on my right arm for a while and they were really excited to do that for me. I will be going back to them for my other tattoo needs.

They kindly were able to squeeze me in same day with such short notice. Saw Grace today for quick check up on a swollen and infected piercing I had done at a different place. She put me at ease right away and reassured me that nothing needed to be removed as long as things continued to heal. Definitely will go back for any future piercings.

A big thanks to Tristan, I absolutely love my new tattoo. But it wasnt just the amazing tattoo and IT REALLY IS but the willingness of Tristan to offer size options, listen to my placement requests, color ideas and all around professionalism. I brought my 10-year-old daughter in for her ear lobe piercings (first time) and Grace was amazing with my daughter. She didnt make her feel rushed and really took her time to explain everything to her. The environment was really clean and everyone was very professional. My daughter had a wonderful experience I would highly recommend bringing your child in here for their first piercings.

It’s been over a decade since I last had something pierced and let me just say JB was at the ready and efficient! He explained everything, let me know the process and kept everything light. I go here for piercings. Holly is my favorite. She always does a great job and is fair and honest about piercings and locations. I love that theyll change the jewelry for me because it saves a lot of tantrums in my bathroom while I start sweating profusely. I’ve had numerous piercings done here and never a problem. Safe. Clean. Professional. I’d never want anyone else digging in my nostril. Keep up the great work.

I came in for a second lobe piercing on both ears, done by Sam. Such a friendly atmosphere, everyone was super nice.While Sam did my piercing she was really informative, kind, and walked me through the entire process with no surprises! Ive gotten pierced by other shops and it usually was a bad experience or just really unprofessional but thankfully that wasnt the case with Blue Lotus. Even though I had horrible social anxiety they all still made me feel comfortable.10/10, highly recommend!

Ok, after I had been there, I have to admit, this place was awesome. The staff there were great, especially Holly, she was my piercer she was FANTASTIC. so much personality, charisma, experience. The overall experience was quick, just a bit painful, and great, I even bought a shirt. It was a bit of a hassle to get in here, but once we got an appointment it was pretty easy.

This place is amazing! From the moment I filled out the COVID forms, to being let in, to actually getting pierced, I felt so comfortable. Holly was absolutely amazing. She took her time to explain everything to me, was patient when I got nervous, and made the whole experience fantastic and safe. The place is impeccably clean, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and it’s top notch quality from the bottom to top. I will definitely be back!

I came here to get a daith and industrial piercing to be told by two very polite guys (who are the only reason I’m giving 2 stars) that the piercer was still an apprentice and couldn’t do one of my piercings but could do the other. Obviously I wasn’t comfortable with them doing any piercings by themselves at that point and found someplace else. I just think it’s irresponsible to have someone like that working alone. There also isn’t much jewelry compared to most places I’ve been to in Florida or NJ… I just expected a lot more from a place most people suggest when you ask.

The phone/desk staff are patient and understanding. Holly was excellent and patient. JB explains without making one feel dumb. Samm and Erin are up and coming competent piercers. Grace has been a fabulous help. Nika was fabulous with my tattoo! Respect and safety and cleanliness are 10 stars. You want a tattoo or piercing? Go here!

Got pierced by Holly. I have had numerous piercings over the years, so I knew what to expect. She took the proper time to mark things and her attention to detail is spot on. This was my first tattoo and Jesse did an amazing job of explaining the process from start to finish. He also went into detail as to what he was doing and why. Flew in for work and had a few hrs to kill so I decided it was time for a septum piercing. Got in contact with the shop and they were able to get me in immediately. A little odd that there’s no return policy for their jewelry. You can drop over $100 on a single piercing, excluding the appointment, and if they got the wrong size and it was cutting into you, you don’t get your money back for that mistake. Piercing quality is great, but odd that you pay for it.

Im in town visiting in laws and needed some dermals taken out. Ive been piercing for over 11 years in California but was not wanting to dig them out myself. 😂 I found Holly at Blue Lotus and am beyond impressed. I went here to get my septum pierced for the first time, Holly pierced me. She was literally the best. She talked me through it as she went, which made me a lot less nervous. It was quick and smooth, barely even hurt. Will definitely go back for other piercings

I understand there is a certain tattoo shop atmosphere that makes a tattoo place feel tough and cool, but it was truly remarkable how clean, calm, and business-oriented this place was. I went yesterday and not only was the receptionist and artist both on time, but there was someone actively wiping down every single inch of the place. The interior is beautiful, wood panels and sliding barn doors to individual rooms. The artist himself was complete professional. He was focused, diligent and creative. Of the four places Ive been prior, this is one of the best.

I cant tell you how happy I am with my tattoo from Blue Lotus. My artist,Kaitlyn, was incredible to work with and completely professional.She was able to take my initial design and expand on it into something amazing. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back again for more tattoos.The venue itself was also incredibly pristine and the staff were all very professional and courteous. 10/10

GiGi was terrible. She barely took any time with me and had missing parts of the tattoo design we discussed. All of her line work was off. I was charged over $200 for a 3 minute tattoo. Sloppy!!

I had a nose piercing done with Holly. Id had one previously from a different establishment that I ended up having problems with so I removed it. I can tell you this piercing was done MUCH better. The jewelry was better; the piercer was better; the aftercare instructions were better as was the overall experience. I ended up have a MRI of my head a few days after the initial piercing and due to the area they were focused on, I had to remove my new nose jewelry. This was totally my own fault for not waiting until after this appointment to have it done. I stopped by the shop to have it reinserted. Even though this was my fault, Holly did it for no charge because it was a medical issue. I will definitely be back for anything else I choose to have done.

My experience was amazing. Shop is beautiful and very clean. Front desk is super friendly. Just watching all the artists and piercers interact they all seem to get along and the shop has a very relaxed vibe. Duke is an amazing artist. Took my idea for my hop vine tattoo and brought to life better than I could have imagined. The detail he put into the color on the hop cones is spectacular, some of the best work Ive seen. Im not sure what kind of voodoo magic but Ive never healed this fast after a tattoo either. Ive definitely found the artist Ill be using for all my future work.

Have had great experiences here... went to Holly for piercings and she was wonder and informative and when I had to go back to get retainers put in for a sudden appointment, they got me in quick!! And was able to right away make an appt to have original jewelry replaced that next week!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE got 2 portraits done and they are spot on I get compliments from everyone even other tattoo artist wanna know who got these skills I’m here to tell you DUKE is the man. Super cool clean fella that’s very skilled and very detailed. Getting portraits can be iffy but he made me confident in him and his work from the moments meeting him talking and seeing some of his work. I am an 8 year customer of blue lotus. I want to first start out by saying that JB is the reason I keep coming back. His talent and professionalism is completely unmatched. He deserves 10 stars and he will be the reason I continue to keep coming back to blue lotus for even more years to come. I’ve become familiar with all the counter staff and have had nothing but pleasant experiences until today with a new member of counter staff. She made my experience uncomfortable and unlike any other one I’ve had thus far. She seemed untrained and frazzled, and didn’t have much bedside manner either. She made me feel like I did something wrong or like I was bothering her during my interaction with her. This encounter was incredibly unfortunate and not on par with the standard that Blue Lotus normally had.

Had a very weird experience here. (Had a positive tattoo experience at the downtown location in the past so thought this place would be good).Ive had a nose piercing for 17 years. I lost the stud today while out east and just needed a new stud. They wouldnt sell me one. Told me I needed an appointment for a fitting with a piercwr to fit it and that no appointments were available.If you just wanted to purchase a piece of merchandise go elsewhere.

I have been considering a nostril piercing for a while and decided to do it on my 47th birthday. I called a few other places that could not fit me in that day, and for that, I am thankful because, I was able to have it done by JB in Sun Prairie. From the moment that I walked in, I felt completely comfortable and at ease. I am beyond impressed with their professionalism, cleanliness, friendliness, and JBs extremely thorough process. I highly recommend!**Edit 2 years later** I returned to the Piercing Lounge with my daughter to get a helix piercing that she has wanted for years. When we got there I was thoroghly impressed by their COVID policies, I felt very safe. When it came time for the piercing, my daughter had major reservations due to fear. Holly responded beautifully and explained everything to her step by step, showed her the equipment that she would be using and how she would use it, answered all of her questions, and completely set her at ease. I have been to Blue Lotus Sun Prarie twice for two piercings. Both experiences were awesome. The first one was upper lobe on both ears by Nicole. Super awesome experience, high quality jewelry, and overall, such a chill space.Today I came in for an industrial piercing by JB, and the same experience, just awesome.Both of them talked to me throughout the process as I tried to get my mind off my nervousness. Both experiences I saw them changing gloves a few times. (Nice and clean. Which is very good!)I even had a question about the placing of my industrial and JB told me exactly why he placed it where it was. He took into consideration where I would like it placed, and where it would be healthiest to place it, and I absolutely love where it is!Todays experience just solidifies that this is going to be my sole place for my piercings. The price is on the higher end, but it is totally worth it for a great looking, clean piercing done by some great people!

I see Wes for a tats (always amazing) and John for piercings. I go to the downtown location. I was beyond scared to get my labret pierced because I had gotten it done before and it was a HORRIBLE experience. John was by far the BEST most AMAZING person ever. He was very sanitary, resourceful and did the piercing and I didnt even flinch! I would and will be going back many many more times to work with them! Thanks guys. You rock!!

I absolutely reccomend this shop. JB did my daughters 1st ear piercing and he was absolutely amazing to work with. He was professional, accurate and efficient. He was also extremely personable, warm and friendly. Without a doubt, I recommend JB.The shop is extremely clean and inviting. We are lifelong customers now.

Holly Novak is the best!! Her skills are outstanding and when I needed help with follow up shes always been there for me and some of my harder piercing (nipples Snug) she was there for me in a way that showed a true since of professionalism and caring definitely going back!!!

Great piercing experience with JB. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff here, just like the other locations. I always recommend Blue Lotus for both piercings and tattoos. Some other shops treat their customers like theyre annoyances, but Blue Lotus will treat you like a friend.

The piercers here are artists. They take their time finding the perfect spot for the piercing, and also accept your feedback on the placing before they pierce you. There is also an expansive amount of jewelry available, the options are unique and gorgeous. Ill definitely be coming back here for more.

I went to Duke when he was in another location. I was so happy with him that I searched for a while to find him. I drove from Brodhead so I could have him start a sleeve in honor of my son who passed last year. I would not trust ANYONE else.Studio is professionally ran, very clean and friendly!

The wonderful woman who did my three piercings Sam she did my nose and both of my eyebrows she was very sweet explained everything in detail for me made absolute sure that everything was perfectly lined up she was all around amazing 10 out of 10 will be coming by with my girlfriend to get her nose done as well

Had my septum pierced by Holly. She was very professional and the shop was clean and had many COVID prevention measures in place. Would definitely go back here for my next piercing.

I went to the sun prairie location to pick out a new nose stud. They were able to get me one just fine. However several issues were realized once I got home. The peircer did not cut the metal at all. So it was extremely long and I needed to cut it myself. I then cut the peircing myself and sanded it down so it would not stick out of my nose. I then tried to put it in and quicky realized it was not the right size. I was pierced with an 18g and have only been wearing 18. After taking it out (never really got it in in the first place) I compared it to my other 18g jewelry I had gotten from them. It was very clearly not the same size. I called right away and talked to JB, who helped me, and he was sure it was the right size, and blamed a retainer I had been wearing for a few days. I took it to another shop in Madison and the peircer their was able to tell me very quickly that they had sold me the wrong size. Then sold me the correct size. The staff and blue lotus was very rude, and belittled me in person and over the phone when I told them several times.I will never return there again. The biggest waste of 25$. I will be calling tomorrow to explain this all to see if I can get a full refund.Update: I went back to the shop and they were able to measure them for me. The new one compared to the one they peirced me with. The new one is larger, however because it was not a whole size bigger they were not able to help me. I am still very upset and will be throwing the jewelry in the trash.

Had my ears pierced about a month ago by Holly. She is awsome. Explained everything in advance and did a great job. Pure professional. Highly recommend her.

Did a walk in piercing and they were able to get me in right away, mind you I went right after they opened lol but theladies were super nice, very knowledgeable as well. A bit pricey but for the sanitary condition which were A++ it was worth it. Going back to get a tattoo in the near future!

Piercer doesnt know what she is talking about. We went in to get a nose ring for my wife. My wife told the worker what she wanted and the worker glanced at her piercing and said it was impossible to fit a nose ring there and talked us into buying one way too big. Ended up going to Wal-Mart and getting the nose ring there. Wal-Mart one fits perfect btw
